I remember having a crimper in the 90s, that had interchangeable plates! What a moment for hair... having multiple sized crimps at once. Also yes, getting two cats to push away grief does help immensely.

I remember crimping my hair once at 10 years old and I felt so free. My very fine n soft flat hair looked huge! We all want to experience at least once what we were not born with
My cousin reminded me that I had the crimper that made star and heart shapes too. We weren’t rich, that was a special Xmas thing that my brain chose to forget about for a reason lol.

I am all about messy curls, it’s kind of my signature look. My plan is to stop coloring and go all silver when I get to 60 (in 5 years). I like to rock a medium-short curly bob and think it will look good all silver!

I was a hairstylist in the 90s and I feel like I have to point out the exclusion here of one of the most in-demand hairstyles of that decade: the "Rachel" ( aka Jennifer Aniston ). I had to start watching the show Friends because I had SO many clients asking for the hairstyles of not only Jennifer, but Courtney Cox, Mathew Perry and David Schwimmer's. I just feel like that was one of the biggest trends of the 90s.

I graduated high school in 1993. Growing up in rural Southern Illinois, i rocked even the permed big aquanet in jr high… i had my first pixie in 2018.. i wish you could come to the shawnee forest, hang out, and cut my hair into a pixie again 🤗 love you! Happy Valentine’s Day

Once I stopped living with my mother and let my hair chemicals grow out, I found out I never needed a perm. I just needed a cut and styling process that let my natural, thick loopy curls out! To this day the only thing I change is how long it is. Always longish, layered enough to not weigh down the curls, and careful product selection. Though I'm seriously considering going a shade lighter than my light brown and then letting it fade out strawberry blonde like I used to. JVN, in the 90s, I had a fade undercut died purple, with the top section about cheekbone length and tweety bird yellow. I was always ahead of my time. hehehehe

Does anyone else remember the circular headband that has a bunch of spikes? You flip your hair over, put the headband around your neck, then push it up into place around your head, flip your head over, and bam! So much volume and texture!
