For me the best T-type guitars from Ibanez will always be the Talman models from 2015
Facts. The FR 365 was decent too
@@abcrx32j uuuhhh yes!.. the OG "AZS"
Comparison video and a Glenn cameo?! That's a win!!!!
Ibanez AZS 🧒 😎 🔥 😆
Happy Birthday Henning! CGS just gave a heads up during his live show and gave you a shout out. Hope you're having a well deserved restful day ;-)
Happy Birthday, Henning!!!
Love how these look. Very killer demo as well!
I love the "VOLA". Amazing guitar. That boost is great.
Nice 👍 intro playing! Sounds a lot like A Flock Of Seagulls. 😁
What a grand opening!!! Already worthwhile watching before the first sentence. IBBI would be my cup of tea!!!
The Vola bridge pickup dounddd better. I have played one of those Ibanez Az Teles and it’s very nice
That mini humbucker on the AZS sold me
Hey Henning, I'm looking for an electric guitar for my niece. She's been playing for about a year now and she's looking for an upgrade over the off-brand starter guitar she's been working with. She likes a lot of indie alternative rock kinda stuff, but I want to get her something that can cover a lot of ground. She's not into metal genres so it doesn't need to be super high output, but I want it to be something that gives her a lot of room to experiment. Any recommendations in like the $200-250 range?
The Ibanez GRG…ahm…. something with 40… I reviewed it… good guitar!
@@EytschPi42 Thanks, I appreciate it. God, Ibanez has gotta rethink their naming conventions lol
You don't need a screwdriver for the self locking Gotoh tuners (unless the string breaks). Just keep tension on the string (towards the bridge) and loosen the tuner. It will unlock and the strong will come out
the azs sounds more like a mosrite mk2 than a tele which is why i'd go with the vola for that sound. but i just love the roundness and clarity of the azs (and that beautiful prussian blue) so i'll spend the extra $800.
I actually prefer the auto-tightening locking-tuners (Gotoh) without the backside thumbscrew because they are lighter (less neck dive) and they never come loose so the string may slip. They may require some tool to loosen the strings, but the advantages outweigh that hassle by a ton. However, on a t-style I would actually prefer the vintage-style F-tuners where you cut the string and put the end down a hole in the split post.
what a good idea to present an instrument while playing with musicians.
the static presentation of the characteristics of the instruments should come as a second step and could also be accompanied for illumination by an example of a piece of music or a part of a piece of music known or not.
this makes it possible to understand and see the instrument in action.
thank you for this evolution in your practices and your videos.
Personally, I play music (accordion, keyboard, guitar, yukulele) and I find your approaches and your videos very nice because you are a musician and also very funny in your presentations both in substance and in form.
my favorite instrument is my “genos yamaha” arranger keyboard coupled with my FTECK button keyboard.

Right off the bat I prefer the Ibanez with the roasted maple neck and the humbucker in the neck. Either way, both are made in Japan and you can never go wrong with Japanese quality made guitars! 😁👍👍
Did you write that track Henning? It sounds awesome!
yes i did, thanks
@@EytschPi42 great work dude! Get some vocals on it! Haha
yes, this will have vocals, just couldn’t get that done in time
@@EytschPi42 livestream? Haha
As much as I love the Oz I gotta give it to the AZS , low output and that beautiful Roasted ass neck.
Wheels are old tech, it’s all ball bearings nowadays!
I also like the wang curve on the control plate.
I need a bubble cannon for my pooches
That NECK pick up! As Cpt. Sulu said, ' Oh MY!!'
I’d say a big difference is the Ibanez has SS frets, the vola doesn’t.
And a roasted neck
@@abcrx32j yeah, makes way less difference if you don't tour for a living
@@valebliz Tbh, i only like them for the feel and look. I don't really care about stability.
@@valebliz the Vola absolutely does feature SS frets
@@abcrx32j you can check the vola vasti KJM it has roasted neck and its freaking awesome and stable I tried it!
The Vola SOUNDS CLEARER
Does the vola have a smaller body?
I’m just old school I guess when it comes to guitar shapes.
Hey Henning , wie heißt der Song?
der hat noch keinen Namen… fehlt ja noch gesang
Dann lass ich mir mal was einfallen
What about the Music Man Valentine? - headstock wheel, roasted neck, internal boost...
that’s is a great guitar, but it doesn’t really sound like a Tele
Both seem great but to me the Ibanez justifies the extra $800 with the roasted maple neck, the shaving around the neck joint, the angled pickup switch, the fitted case coming with it and the alt switching.
Is that the same drummer that plays with Martin Miller?
yes
Some parts of the initial track made me want to be sending out an SOS, sending out an SOS to the world
you nailed it!
Well, to my ears the Ibanez easily sounds twice as good as the Vola… so there really is no price difference. 😂 Also that compressor really killed the life of the high gain sound. Glad, you switched it off at the end.
I thought there was a donkey at the end, did I miss something?
Have you checked Vola's return policy?
No, why? Is it bad?
@@EytschPi42 "20% restocking fee for returns". (My previous comment was deleted...)
Speaking of modern teles you may add a solar T model to the collection.
e solar looks like a Tele, but it is a metal guitar. Is isn’t in the same category as these two
I preferred the vola, but whats with the glowing intestine hanging on your wall lol.
Listen to Papillon, he is right!
Alternate title: Battle of the Japanese Jiants? Might invite WB's attention tho so maybe not.
Jigantorrrr Jigaaaannntorrrr!
odd... music at the beginning is out of sync to the video....
must be on your end
I own a 7-string Vola Vasti and some Ibanezenzenzes², so I have experience with both brands. I would go Vola here - prettier/cooler finish/shape, less expensive, and just as good quality wise. Roasted maple is a bit of a fad, a few years down the line everyone will be like, ugh, roasted maple AGAIN?! More stable, maybe, but also more brittle.
But I already have an FGN "tele", so...
Roasted maple necks have been around for more than a decade now and if anything they are just becoming more popular as it requires less finishing and the tone difference isn't massive enough to not being able counter it with other methods.
The Vola looks allot like a First Act guitar. I think it's the ME -506...I mean.. seriously. It looks like they upgraded a First Act guitar.
What ever happened to Kiana?
she has a job
@@EytschPi42 will she ever make another appearance ?
VOLA sounds and looks better
I’m glad I have a Talman. Those things are fugly
I can't understand why with almost any modern Tele version they have to throw on something similar to the hideous original control plate, or even exactly alike.
I'd say it's one of the worst designs ever put on a guitar.
For me it's the other way around, every possible deviation from the Tele design seems weird, off, and forced. Especially with these two.
I don't see anything wrong with the control layout. I would get weirded out if they kept the disgusting square plate joint for the neck instead.
« Martin’s drummer » you got it right this man is so groovy. About teles I’m sorry but hope this is the last video of the year 😂
