Got some T-Style goodness for you guys this week!
Enjoy :)
like the finish, dislike the body cutouts
@@pebblelemon
I actually, unlike you, like its weird body shape minus the grandpa's guitar color. Lol
Thanks for addressing the strap issue. I asked the question on the strat version and had the same thing on my mind with this one. Love your channel and appreciate your thorough, honest reviews.
I'd add that the pickups on the tele were way above average, and that the "power switch" was definitely an added bonus
Wow this is really great guitar. You probably keep it. That sounds great 👍. Je vous remercie.
Hey man, if I see Tele in the title, it's gonna get me hooked! Really interesting and worthwhile to see!
I've seen a few Volas on various channels and I'm really taken with the looks. I have to say the 'power boost' on the bridge pup really sounded kick-ass.
I never thought I'd get to use such an analogy. Darrell, you're 'theRadBrad' (gamers would definitely know him) of RUclips's gear reviewers. Your politeness is partly why I keep coming back to your videos. Keep rocking dude.
One of the best T style sounds I've ever heard. Classic and what you expect, but with a twist and bite. Killer tone!
Do you remember Jack Nicholson's line"you make me want to be a better man"? This Vola makes me want to be a better guitarist!!
Thanks for another great video.
Love the Vola's! Killer sounding and the neck profile is one of my favourites too 👌
Vola are great for jamming to your tracks...
That 1 min solo was one of your best! Crushed it!
Bless pastel colors 🤙
Daphne Blue and Surf Green are gorgeous guitar finishes!
Light pastels and very intense colors suit teles the best imo
That’s the most awful telly I’ve ever seen, yet your videos are so good Darell, my best wishes.
not big on the looks....
but sounds fantastic!. very nice overall.
Gorgeous peace of work as always!
I knew it was a Vola right off the bat because of that little fin behind the strap button
Darrell, I hope YOU are having a great day today! It's time someone considered your feelings for once. 😎👍
looks like Prince took a tele and just went crazy with a saw
It's a big like from me, for both the form and the tone. To salvage a little bit of traditionalism, though, I'd have to go with the butterscotch or sunburst finish. 👍
A great looking guitar, I’m very impressed with the fretwork. Very clean neck! Awesome, thanks for showing this.
Love your playing, the 1min solos are my favorite part! I’ve never played but I’ve been thinking about saving up and give it a shot. Thanks for all your videos we enjoy them all 👍🏽
I am immediately besotted with this guitar, I would buy it just for the colour, and then there's the guitar to play as well
I always wanted a surf green ..and here it is ty man a beauty for sure....
it's a pretty guitar and love the tone ! Great video !
Kinda cool. I’m not sure that body does it for me but the build quality is impressive! Love listening to you play, dude!
As always, a great guitar and a excellent channel, congrats.
The push-pull pot puts the humbucker in series which explains the 'boost' and i'd definitely rock it!
ohhhhhh, that's awesome! Tele goodness in surf green? yes please!
I am in love with this guitar
I have one and it’s amazing. Blows my 2 tele’s away.
That is a good looking guitar. Sounds good too, but love the unique look.
shane over at In the blues was also very impressed with the vola strat style and tele style guitars he reviewed. I Love everything about this with exception of the lil cut out on the back.
Thanks for the strap hang add!
Nice! Might have to get one...
Terrific playing, Darrell!
Thanks!
Great guitar . I own one. And I simply love it. Tone is amazing and neck is real nice. Great feel.
Great alternative to a fender tele.
The 6 dislikes are probably from Fender employees
They're green with envy ...lol
Agreed, has more twang than their instrument.
I think it's gorgeous, other than the reverse horn which I think looks ridiculous. But I'd still love one.
I haven't disliked it but if I ever get a tele style guitar it would be a second hand Highway One or American Special as they would be considerably better value for money.
@@bobtheyob It has been said that you would have to go Custom Shop to get comparable quality.
Pretty cool look on this T style ! The growl on this thang is pretty awesome 👍👍👍. .. I may have to make me one ;)
Damn, Darrell! That guitar is hot! I like it! You covered the only issue I thought may be a little problem, the rear strap button. Thanks man.
Ive gigged with it and its not an issue
Sweet!
That QR Code idea is spectacular!!
Great take and Thx much for the weight spec.. understand that weight can vary on same models guitar but at least knowing a good approximation is really helpful to us with backs/shoulders where this spec matters.
6:01 cat scratch fever
Oh man. Talk about a .38 special type of sound!🎶👍
I've seen this Tele on Shane's "InTheBlues" channel. It's a bit of an odd duck as far as looks, but it sounds so killer, and every time he plays it, it makes magic. The Vola Strat he has is also fantastic. Hell of a guitar for a reasonable price.
really digging the blues playing. Oh yeah, the Vola guitar is nice too..
Must be Surf Green T style Upload day! Hahaha. I did mine and saw several today. All new uploads. What?? Heheheh Awesome Vola!
For the cost, you should also consider the Reverend Trickshot. More Telecaster with superb features.
Of course, talking about Reverend Teles, it's always tempting to save up a little extra for a Gristlemaster. If it's good enough for Greg Koch, man...
Never could get past the screw in neck. I suppose it makes fixing them easier. Thanks for the videos.
Reminds me of Abasi's wild Tele style guitars. def check those out
surprised by how many people didn't like the looks. I would buy one over a fender tele just because of looks
Егор Сидоров idk man, looks pretty ugly to me...
I want one!
Nice Tele shape!
Nice!
That headstock looks amazing, almost as pointy as a Jackson. And definitely miles ahead of any other Tele or Strat.
That intro riff was killer
That looks really unique
So good and lovely guitar! As soon as I saw it, I was drawn to it! Thanks for the video : ) One more thing, it would have been good if there was a cutt out angle on the guitar body for the arm comf, so while playing it would be even more feel good to it, not only for the angle aganst the belly but for the arm aswell!
Looks cool (not my choice of color, but I like the design), sounds great, less than 8 lbs., and made in Japan. What's not to like? Well… price, for one thing. No one wants to list how much it costs, including Vola. I take that to mean $$$$.
$1200
@@ronmay5589 Thanks! That makes it outside my guitar budget parameter. Strictly an amateur, I can't justify spending that much on a guitar.
Can't yet decide how I feel about that QR code thing. On the one hand, it seems like a GENIUS idea! Pack all the detailed spec information on that code and you have it forever, instantly accessible. Could also easily be used to prove the provenance of the guitar. Still, I can see all the hard core traditionalists moaning about such thing "marring" the looks of the guitar even though its on the BACK of the headstock.
I think I'm leaning towards the former....
The power boost is just a reverse coil split, which is super cool!!
would love to try one of these like the OZ before I buy
Hot licks! Southern rock is music toy ears. Rock on!
Nice little spot above the rear strap button for the cable
That is exactly why it is wrong. You want the cord to be held firmly against the guitar if you yank on the chord with any force. Otherwise you might as well not bother tucking it back there.
I love those Volas...and you are correct sir, the Japanese knock it outta the park with their quality and attention to detail...DB, hopefully you could demo an FGN model someday soon!!!!!
Great Sounding Guitar! Sounds more like a Tele than an actual modern Fender!
This one I need to look at further. So off to Vola's web site to see what such gear will cost me.
Which of your amps did you use? Really cool looking and sounding guitar, and I sure like the format of demo and then examining the instrument. Thanks for another great job!
Great video DB! I would love to see you do a Tele style upgrade to a high gain machine maybe with the hot rails! Push pull pots. Maybe a monoprice? Thanks my brother!
It looks like the love child of a Tele and a stingray
Looks amazing
That Valenti in the background took away some of the Vola's spotlight.
Has nothing to do with the video but just added a new bass to my collection. I now have 2 bass, 3 electric guitars, and an acoustic. Nowhere near what you got but nevertheless feels amazing! 😁
If I had one wish it would be to have all your guitars!!!!
Ok ok stop right there Sonny!! (7:00) You’re under arrest! License and Registration.
Back at the station, great looking and sounding axe. Only trouble is DB makes a cigar box sound great. How ‘bout sending that thing over to a real amateur‘s house -> like mine.
nice keef tones
Darrel, you should try the offset teles, either the fender (with a p-90 on the neck) or the squier (with traditional tele pickups) they feel and sound amazing
Yes! A review with a strap!
Anyone else get the feeling that if Darrell was around back in the day, he'd be a session man on heaps of classic records?
I like all guitars but I am always just more partial to any finish that still shows the wood grain.
Hey darrell! You should do a review of the fender mustang LT amplifier series! I'd be interested to know how they compare to the spark!
SUPER!!! )
That might be the sexiest tele ever, second to Danish Pete’s purple custom shop.
Oh man that purple tele is perfect
That purple tele is so good
The bottom of the body reminds me a bit of those old Fender Swingers
My first thought was "Ibanez Iceman" :-)
Nice one! Is the bridge PU just a reverse split wiring, so being split in the normal position and full humbucker in the „split“/pulled up position? If yes that’s a nice idea 😄
Wow..Beautiful & Nice tone..
Hope U'll do Post Mortem and show us the electronic parts inside as usual..
👍👍👍🏆👌
A true Tele on steroids. Thanks for the video, Darell.
Thank’s
Can you make a review on bacchus stratocaster...maybe also a comparing to other guitar
When will manufacturers declare the product's weight on their website ?
Thanks Darrel for mentioning the weight
Darrell please please please can you do a comparison between the Baja Tele and it's newer irritation the vintera 50s modified ? Thank you!!! 🙏
Hello sir, from which side of the world you are? please l want to know 😉 O" my gosh" I needed a guitar just like that! You're so awesome for showing that guitar 😍😍😍that is my dream guitar 😍😍😍😍
It would be great if you could review this guitar. The EART Electric Guitar Headless fix Bridge. It's not that expensive and I'd love to hear it.
Very nice! Except for the headstock shape maybe; And it seems a few more manufcturers have been going for that one, like Schecter, Suhr, ... Reminds me of Hohner's 'Professional' line from the 80's and gives me a 'cheap' vibe. Surely it can't be that hard to come up with something new?!
darrel can you please check out the scattervarius guitsr and do a video on it??? thank you so much i really want more info on it
Yeah Vola is a good brand. It can keep up with some good Fenders.
Hey man u should really try one of Greco's Gibson modells. Only purchased used tho
I was literally just looking at one of these 👀
The purist in me wouldn’t buy one but the non-purist in me loves the variation on the Tele shape.
I think a better option would be to install a rail pickup in real Tele
Very well designed! Too bad we forced the Yen to devaluate back in the day. I think Japan made guitars are on top of the industry. Thanks Darrel!
Looks really nice, but i want 24 3/4 scale or 25inch scale guitar is there a T style with short scale
country, blues, and southern rock. That's the way we thought about telecasters back in the seventies when I was coming up. No one in rock and roll played them that I knew of. No one in person I knew played one now they're the hippest guitar on the planet. LOL!
If you can, you should try a Maybach guitar, T-style or LP-Style. Very very great guitar for the price.
Local shop has them...and at first I didn't like the shape. It's grown on me a bit now and it certainly sounds good. :-)
The Companies various guitars models and features are Excellence, but such comes at a price at times and in this case, the Products are worth the $Pricings$ ! ! ! Strap Locks , I got them on All my guitars, for that just in case of, you never know, Wam, Bam, Slam ! ! ! I had a playing buddy try to sling his guitar around his neck. It nearly nocked out the bass player on the fly by as it came to rest stuck up into the wall ! ! ! 😵 Actually, Holy Expletives, then ROFL after making sure the bass player was ok, and of course the guitar as well ! ! ! 🤭😊😃😁🤣 I love the neck on , the electronics and tone of this guitar demo'd by you here Darrell Braun ! ! ! Peace & Play On . . . 👍🤘🎸😎🙏 DDH 8-28-2020.
