It's really refreshing to see a sponsored review, that's actually a review, and not an advertisement
As someone who likes Tele's and loves Mockingbirds i *love* the shape. It's modern, but warm and traditional at the same time. It looks good playing Blues and looks good playing Shred. Best of both worlds really.
I'm a massive tele fan but I really kinda like it. As for the sound, it's awesome!
I get the feeling the notch for the back strap button might've been designed to create a gap you can pass a cable through for hooking it above the strap button rather than smushing the cable into the guitar body with the strap.
whoa... never thought about that... cool!
Totally in the "love it" camp. The second I saw it...just wow!
Oh hi Mark
I did not hit her! I did NOOTT
Anyway, how's your sex life?
oh hi dowgy
Ok, keep the change!
Denny, don't play in too much, it may not come out rigghhht.
For some reason this made me want to see a Chapman Guitars review by Paul Reed Smith :)
"You either hate it or you love it"
"Do I like it? I'm on the fence about it"
We get you Rob, we get you.
Gotta say Rob, your playing in this video is absolutely great! Loved it!!
I actually really dig the looks of that thing. Great playing as always!
Holy crap! I love your variety in this video. You're absolutely brilliant and rounded. I wish I heard this more in Andertons stuff!
Im surprised at how much I like that guitar I usually hate vulgar shapes but there is something classy about it.
And the tone is lush, please use that hallway Mike trick on the Anderton vids 😊
Rob, this is best demo I've heard from you in some time.
I do like the shape
Absolutely awesome looking guitar. If it had an HH config and 24 frets I'd seriously consider buying it. As it is, not the type of guitar I'd need for what I play but that body shape is awesome IMO
this has been on my wishlist for a while! glad u did a review
Have to say Chappers is starting to discover what melody is about rather than just shredding boring scales at juvenile gain settings. Fair play to the man.
As a Tele player I can totally get behind it except for the headstock.
Glad the expert here defined what the "true" Tele-players are supposed to think.
w/e
Always gettin' better Rob! And I love that guitar! Cheers from Italy!
I love how Rob even does an honest review when the video is sponsored. Lots of respect from me for staying true!
Country Rob is the best Rob, great playing man!
I think it's a badass little guitar.
fantastic review. the guitar grew on me more as the vid went on..... playing was top notch Rob, nice one brotha
Love it!
Honest review. Fair play.
Beautiful guitar!
It sounds great.
That thing is beautiful and oh my god it absolutely sings
The studio that you recorded that review in sounded amazing. I hope that all future reviews have that same quality
Rob, great review man, and your tone was just awesome. You're comment about the "dusty" end made me laugh and think of one of the greatest rhythm guitarists ever Malcolm Young...to him the "dusty" end was anything past the 3rd fret, and that man could play.
Looks wise it's awesome.. Tonally lovely 😊
Can we get a short tutorial on that mic in the hallway bit? Great vids as always Rob.
wow nice studio! your studio Rob? ..love tele type guitars ..great review
SO BASICALLY
its a teledgecaster?
Naim Spiteri horrible just horrible
hahahah ill be taking my leave i guess ;D
Great review. More of these, please! (AND MORE CHAPPERS TV OF COURSE)
That's a beautiful guitar.
I have GOT to finally get a set of Joe Barden pups! I worked directly across the large nice kind of hidden office park parking lot from JB pups in Virginia for years and had no clue about it at all.
OP I could have sworn I saw an upload of yours with the title having something to do about how you deal with hearing loss while still a performing musician? Is that correct? If not do you know of any links that could assist me in that regard?
Love your vids man.
My first ax looked like this, it was a Hiet deluxe by tiesco, made in early an mid 60's single toaster pickup,... As someone else said I don't like the headstock shape but the axe sounds real good, it reminds me of the personal build I'm doing now.... Same pickups I'm using in a tele switch but strat shape body, is that a short scale neck? Nice tip on the reverb chapper..👍👍👊🔥....I haven't commented much on the new tunes, Rob but I've been listening 👍👍👍
I actually quite like the look and aesthetics of this guitar. A tad offset with Telly vibe and somehow a whiff of PRS, dunno why 😁
I actually love the look of it. I just wish I knew how much it was, or where to even buy it.
I hate tele's but that's one I'd like to have
Smoking tones - great playability, killer guitar. (Amazing player as well!).
Hi Rob, please be honest... Can you tell me what do you prefeer between a Vola vasti or a PSR SE what Eber model?
Hey Rob how are you could you give us an update on the Chapman pedals please?
Is that Champion 600 in the background a recent reissue? Or an older one? Stock or modded? I'm curious. I think I saw it from the other side in another of your videos and it looked like it had a sticker or something on it is why I ask if it's stock or modded. Someone sells modded ones that they put their logo or whatever on after modding.
Its super shiny i love it
Cool guitar
Looks like a mix between a tele and a BC rich wave. I like the wave.
That is the coolest tele I've ever seen
Thank you - unironically - for stating outright that it is a sponsored video. The guitar itself seems an inconsistent design and undecided in how innovative it wants to be. A random jumble of features with little design direction or clear conceptual strategy.
I actually really like it. I kinda understand where they were coming from changing the shape just to differentiate themselves from Fender while still paying homage to a classic overall. I agree about the neck joint though why change the body and not update the neck joint?
6:42 weren't the first Standard Ghost Frets like that too?
This guitar looks almost heart-shaped if you look at it all together. I like the notch on the back end.. Like the fins on a Cadillac... Well, more like a Morris Oxford actually :D
As someone who dislikes Telecasters but loves Mockingbirds, I dig the look. I'm with Rob on the design though, that neck joint is an abomination.
BuRA In this day and age, no guitar manufacturer should still be using that disgustingly unergonomic bolt on joint. Unfortunately, alot of them use the excuse that it makes the guitar have a more "vintage" feel. Just BS to justify trying to save a few bucks on the construction and overcharge for their guitars.
BuRA Neck joint is just standard Tele fare. They have went the traditional route, which is not everyone's bag. Same with the three piece bridge saddle. I prefer functionality myself.
Unchainedmaple888 bolt on neck joint is okay, as long as it's AANJ syle like you can find on ibanez guitars.
Ikhsan Hasbi that's what I meant. Love ESP's star cut, t-5 ultimate access, and KT bolt on joints, Ibanez's AANJ bolt on joint, Caparison's bolt on joint etc any ergonomic bolt on joint. I was just talking about how I hate the square bolt on joint that can still be found on Fenders, some Jacksons, some Charvels, some Schecters, etc
Yoda P "traditional" is just the cop out excuse guitar companies use to save a few bucks. On Vola's zenith super strat that alot of RUclipsrs were reviewing a couple months ago with the LED fret markers and all their bolt on guitars also have the same horrible square bolt on joint.
Didn't Bob Dylan's guitarist in the 60's have a tele that someone chopped away at the top cutaway that looked like the opposite version of this? There's a vid or two here on RUclips of it, but I can't find it now.
I like this 90% of this shape.
oooh! ATC powered monitors. Very nice.
What did they do to the Telecaster shape!? :( It's mangled!
If it didn't have the cleft in the bottom and was just an offset Tele shape, it would look so much cooler. The headstock doesn't bother me as it's very similar to a Suhr, which I own and love.
Man man man I'm so glad you got a haircut.
I like it
LOVE the design, think it's beautiful. Bit out of my price range though sadly
It would have been nice if it was a good nice cutt on the guitar body for the arm comf aswell!
The old mic in a reflective environment trick for reverb, very 1960's recording-the guitar is not bad, but I'd prefer a Fender for that price.
Nice
Love the look of that. It's like a Mockingbird without the BC metal cringe.
Interesting notes about the guitar styling, Rob. Personally, when I first saw that Vasti, all I could think was "hey, cool, something that doesn't look like Yet Another Boring Tele."
8:37 Don't know if it's the amp or the guitar, but the tone is sooo damn nice!
interesting take on a classic but personally I wouldn't pick one up.... great vid robbo
Hey do a video about
Evh ministack and zoom g1xon
Together Thankyou
You should review the Yamaha rgz 312
"I didn't like it ...... at first" says the head of a company known for reverse headstock guitars?! You nailed the BCR lines immediately and I'll take two please.
You should play Teles more often, you sound great through them.
Normally not the biggest tele fan but I do sort of like that. Although personally I'd swap the PUP's to something a bit mad, Fishmans maybe, and make it a bad bastard riff monster.
the cutout for upper fret access seems like a strange (poor?) choice when you have a square cut heel joint. Other than that, I'm on the fence too. It would depend on price.
Wow! What a collaboration, looks fantastic, sounds sweet 🎸🎛 big necks and flabby thigh's!
$1,239 on the internet so you have got to want this badly considering what else is within reach at this price.
for that price i'll just buy a tele tbh
KingofDoubt i agree
Wow, I'd prefer a Fender American Standard Telecaster at that price....but then even more I think I'd rather just buy a nice Mexican Tele and keep the change...
You can get a Kotzen tele close to that.
l m I just got one. It's got a thick neck. What didn't you like about it?
Wouldn't a "skunk stripe" be white, making this a racing stripe?
If anyone's interested, Rob is selling this one from his collection right now for about £1399.
I love that aesthetic. Too bad I can't afford it.
I wonder what Johnny Hiland would have to say about this guitar?
Terrance Hill If they paid him enough or have it for free whatever they wanted him too!
I loved it until the two minute mark when I actually realised that bottom section with the strap button and now I'm not so sure! :/
Ahahah first like! Love you chappers!
Another Guitar brand that doesn't do left handed! (From what I can see) I'm just sat here waiting for my left handed Chapman!
no
kieran Blacker chapman are working on lefty models. The problem is that unless all guitars are made to order making equal numbers of left and right handed instruments can be costly, especially seeing as the demand for left handed instruments is significantly lower.
KiLl3R Mem3StAR I understand that! But the demand is getting more for left handed! I also don’t see why left handed models are price so stupid as well! Gibson at the worst for this although they have announced the 2018 models will be the same price as the right handed! I’m waiting for my left handed chapman!!!!
kieran Blacker and as I explained, IF ITS NOT PROFITABLE FOR THE COMPANY THEY ARENT GUNNA DO IT. Sure a big company like Gibson or fender can manage, but a smaller company not so much
KiLl3R Mem3StAR I understand that it has to be profitable! I’m just saying.....When they release them, I hope they are readable priced, and spec’ed the same!
hey its definitely an improvement in the design... look at that you have body craves for your forearm and all the bells and whistles...
What happened to the captain and the old stuff. Miss the Ibanez reviews
They're still doing it but they're on the andertons channel now
yeah, your buddy mark certainly didn't come up with the idea of ambient micing..... that's how they got reverb before artificial reverb became a thing
Gotta say, that's surprisingly attractive
Dunno. Think I'd rather have a Chapman ml standard over this. Heck if this thing is around the 1k$ range I could easily get 2 chapmans ml standard
Needs a single coil bridge PU.
It's a Tele. It's a Jazzmaster body. It's $1300. Thank you 2017. /s
I need a 3-way
Errmm, Rob you say " if you look at the middle it's a Japanese made Telecaster" in the video. The Vola Guitars website proudly proclaims "Made in the USA". Maybe its a - parts made in Japan, assembled in the USA - deal. I see there is at least one RUclips video of the Vola Guitars factory - and that has, I think, Korean titles.
Terry Relph-Knight these are made in Japan. USA production is the 'Quaint' versions which are relic versions. Company based in Hong Kong & Korea.
the shape reminds me of a model by fernandes, can't remember the name.....
As this was a sponsored review I think you are out of order in saying the strap button was badly placed. Surely it wouldn't have been to difficult to try it with a strap ?
La guitarra del Christianvib :vV pero stemen si sabe usar el metrónomo
Im not gonna lie. Im not hatin the design of it i love the sound but for the price id just get a standard tele over this any day
Il sure Nat told you what it means
Kind of like the BC Rich Seagull model and a Tele. Hmmmmmmmmm
I'm amazed that its still got two strings per bridge saddle. Then again, I amazed Fender still do that.
