I had even stopped doing lunges because of my knee pain. I began doing the first two exercises just now after the gym and I already feel a difference. God bless you.
I've been having knee issues and when I went to see a personal trainer to see my strengths and where I lack, I learned about ankle mobility. I had none. I didnt know what that meant or even a thing. I now see the connection to my leg issues and will be doing these. Thank you for this video!
Cori, I just commented on another video about my struggles with the camel stretch due to knee pain. Then this RUclips recommendation popped up. Great moves...cant wait to try. And kudos on the background tracks...flows well with the video presentation.
As a 40-something who has regular issues with my knees, I am going to give this a go and also one of your other knee centered videos to see if I can strengthen and prevent future hurts and get a head of it. Thanks!
I recently moved to a new house with lots of stairs. The stairs combined with a lot of hiking/walking has bothered my knee. It went from popping while going up the stairs to feeling a lot of discomfort with everyday activities. I found this video and after doing the first round I felt a difference in my knee. My knees and I thank you for this video! 😭🙏
Foam rolling the tfl with a softball is just as much fun as self administering a frontal lobotomy with a butter knife. But I'm here to tell you it works...Another super useful post!
@@redefiningstrengthOC can we use a Foam roller? if so how? will search another video, but I haven't seen good videos out this channel on foam rolling techniques
I am 58 yes young and workout daily my knees some days feel like plastic caps and hurt like hell but to know what can help elevate the pain I’m all about learning and you truly are very educated 💪👍❤️
I've been experiencing pain in my left knee when I bend it. Currently I can't sit cross-legged, getting up and down can be problematic, and even lifting my leg to put my pants on hurts. I also have issues with my right wrist, and your videos about dealing with wrist pain gave me such a comprehensive overview of things to do and not do and how to keep exercising with modifications, keeping doing what I love. My doctor has been useless at helping me with these mysterious injuries, so your videos are the only real help I've been able to find. Since I've had so much success with the wrist, I'm excited to implement the tips in this video to see if they help my knee. Thank you for all you do! You are a lifesaver!
Thank you so much for this I've gone to a physical therapist about my knee issues and some of the exercises that you've included here he also gave me to do...so looks like you definitely know what you're talking about. I will be putting these into my warm ups .... you are "da bomb"
You’ve really helped me to understand my TFL, what it is and how to isolate it and work on gluteus medius. I was already doing some similar exercises for Achilles tendinitis on rt heel (the toe raises) and I feel like I’m making progress in both areas. Thanks for such insightful, smart, and precise videos.
Omg, I pinched my TFL in my hip while running downhill back in 1st UK lockdown 2020 & it’s taken nearly the whole year to rehab my IT band! Thanks for some great exercises!
Thank you. I injured something about 8 months ago and my IT is still rehabing. I can't sleep on my side without pain most of the time. These moves have helped quite a bit.
So grateful for this video I have had knee issues for over 2 decades. Also I can hear my hip pop every time I do exercise and my ankles are definitely not all my. Aligned. So these exercises will help me
I screamed that’s me when you were showing lunges, my knees turn in. I have knee pain but I’m letting it stop me from strength training. The pain has gotten more noticeable when I began 10k steps a day. Now I start strength training and only do 30 minutes of walking. I hope to be able to do a proper lunge soon but taking to slowly as not to hurt myself more. New subbie
My jaw hit the floor when you said that when the TFL becomes overactive and tight, it will try to compensate and work when the glute medius should actually be working. PT exercises for my knees all involve activating the glute medius, but I have noticed that some other muscle is doing the work instead, and I cannot seem to activate my glutes. OMG it's the TFL. I have noticed it getting larger but didn't know what muscle it was, and my knees are not getting any better. Thank you for this video! I will be doing all of these moves. My knees are preventing me from doing some exercises and increasing intensity on others in the gym. Can't wait to try these moves.
Hey cori, could you make a follow along exercise or stretch videos? I always use your dynamic warm up video to warm up before any exercise and find it very helpful. It would be nice to have like a 30 min follow along exercise video that I can just play and follow along
This would be so helpful. There are so many exercises that a flow along would be great. I follow other YTubers with follow along videos. I wish Cori had this.
Severe Chondromalacia in both knees from college volleyball. In & out of PT ever since. Gluteus Medius & VMO strengthening has been key for me! HATE them, but Bulgarian split squats with added weight has enabled me to dance again. Thanks for this! Helpful tips & easy to do everyday 👍🏾🙏🏾
Almost dismissed this video since it looked like things "I've seen before" and looked simple and addressed mostly front knee pain. Now with my tail properly between legs after watching till the TFL portion, I'm a believer. I noticed you mentioned something about not going over toes. Been seen a lot of "knees over toes" posts and wondering if there's any good time to do so.
Thanks Cori! 👍 As someone who is very active, exercise, workout 5 days a week, and work in the health and medical industry, I always find your videos informative. 🤝
For my feet. I do mostly calisthenics (@ home) barefoot to strengthen ankles, feet and hips. Or shoes similar to the ones in your video. Thin shoes no mid-soles.
I’m so excited to try this. I already did it last night and today. I’ve been having pain in my knees and I couldn’t understand it because I feel like Im doing everything correctly. But I did have a bad foot injury a couple of years ago and I knew I was neglecting calf raises as part of my rehab so this makes so much sense to me.
Thanks to my knee pain I found you. No joke you really seem to know what you are talking about and how you deliver it, I actually understand what you are saying. I will stop sucking up and go back to watching your videos. Many thanks for posting. Cheers from Ontario, Canada!

What a great video. Glad I stumbled across your channel. I can totally identify with the worry about squats and lunges because of knee pain. I’m definitely going to incorporate these into my training program. Thanks!
I started doing leg lifts for knee pain and weakness about a week ago. I have been having problem with stairs for a while. The exercises seem to be helping already. I never thought to do leg lifts for a knee problem. Thanks.
Thank you so much for the video. I have been suffering from knee pain since high school. I’m in my 40s and still struggle. Been to physical therapy four times now and a orthopedic surgeon and they say more PT. But I’m hoping this will help by doing the exercises you just showed
This is great. These need to be done everyday in my opinion and should be takes with as much seriousness as other strength works and exercises. Do these even on the days that you don't workout. Consider it rehab.
I love these!! I will be trying all of these for continued work on addressing my lack of strength/compensation in my glutes and ankles. Also, your doggos are so cute. I grew up with a Bichon/Maltese! 🥰
They are such love bugs! These moves are perfect to help exactly those two areas! Also check out my videos specifically for feet and ankles and then one on glute activation (5 moves).
Ok this makes sense ! These look like some of the exercises my PT is working with me on after getting knocked down during a dog attack as tearing the meniscus in my knee.
appreciate this video. incorporated these into my warm up this morning and they definitely gave some instant relief! will do them again tomorrow morning. 😎👍🏼🇦🇺

Thanks for the tips which I will surely use. Knee pain is something I am now experiencing too often as I have lost a lot of strength and stability by not exercising as much due to the pandemic. I found that foam rolling my quads and warming them up nicely also does the trick but only temporarily so hopeful your tips will be more helpful longer term. My ankle stability is probably very poor as I tend to twist far too often just by walking!
Thank you !This might help me to solve my pain and problem. After long time I started walking for 2 to 4 km.at the pace 15 minutes /km.Now started pain in TFL.As I walk more pain is more.

Very good. I recently got knee pain. I tonight had front ankle pain. I think new flat sneakers bought as trainers caused this as my ankle did not move the way it does in cross trainers.
I confess. These moves fixed my knee pain! I could not walk because of knee pain. Now I am jogging. You are the best Cori.

Two other factors for decreasing knee pain are 1) get to normal weight, 2) wear the proper shoes. Most people find the former quite difficult.
