So true. Next up we'll be getting FF7R and I will enjoy it no matter how good or bad it might turn out to be.
And I bet SQEX is already concepting XVI. :)

Oh yeah... "Verum rex" another failed concepr where the protagonist look like a child cloud, emoish theme going on and as they said "It isn't even a game" what could go wrong with delusional fans creating hype for something un-existent? It is not like it has been done before, right? wink wink-

Yes. She is. 😂
The Night Sky Prince haha finally, senpai noticed me
Yes, she is lol.
Luna is inferior and those shoes of hers look ridiculous.
Yes. Tbh she should have been a final boss that would have been better
Ff 15 was messy but it’s was a bitter sweet experience I enjoyed every minute of it it will always be in my heart
I literally couldn't give a single F about any of the characters, but somehow the scene at the last campfire made me sad. I'm sitting there lumpy throat like where is this emotion even coming from right now?
53prime too bad for you, I liked it. 😋
@53prime Exactly, the camp after the credit (7:34) was the only scene that I consider good
The game in general was not bad but not good too.. btw this is the first FF I've played myself from the whole series and I was so hyped for it..
Best way to describe it👏
Same here bro
Tabata tried, I'll give him that.
Somewhere in an alternate universe, Versus XIII released and the world saw salvation.
Emiya Shirou yah.... And to think that timeline has a trilogy and spin off of Versus XIII now
Wouldn't mind transferring to that alternate universe just to see vs13 or a completed 15.
He also said he's never working on (or directing?) another final fantasy game ever again, due to the amount of work and time it took from his family
@@DraconicFeathers
Tabata resigned from Square Enix.
No one knows if Versus would have even been good. When Tabata inherited the game nothing was playable
Not the biggest fan of XV but seeing it meant a lot to u and other FF fans warms my heart.
Hopefully SE doesn’t repeat this development hell cycle again in future games
Well kh3 is a continuation of the development hell cycle by Square Enix. Tetsuya nomura made both games funnily enough and both games are disappointing as they didnt reach their full potential.
Both games arent terrible per say but they didnt live up to the the name of the series as a mainline installment both in my own opinion as to other fans of both series.
@@neo-zamato that's false kh3 was not in development hell it had a normal development time 5 years not 10 like 15 and plus 15 ending the way it did was not his fault the higher ups kept messing with the development by pulling him or his team to do other things add that with him still working ob the Kh series at the same time it's not surprising he didn't get anything done I really wish people would stop blaming nomora solely for this when it's mostly squares fault
@@thatoneblackdude3333 While i do admit that it isnt soley nomuras fault for kh3 being not superb as it should be, i still believe that kh3 was rushed and unfinished like ffxv whilst in development and overall left players unsatisfied and disappointed at both square and nomura for letting the game come out without numerous features like in previous installments. I aslo cannot forgive disney for screwing up the originality aspect of kh3 as there no final fantasy characters besides a moogle and there were only disney worlds. Kingdom hearts is FF X DISNEY. If you remove 1 thing from the equation then it isnt kingdom hearts.
@@neo-zamato Kh 3 isn't unfinished the story was complete from start to finish it's nothing like ff15 nor wasn't it rushed ether while it was dissapointing for some myself included that doesn't make it an unfinished game , what missing features ? The only thing it was missing was critical mode and multiple secret bosses which isn't something that comes with the base game those are final mix features so naturally they didn't come day one , as for the decision to have no final fantasy characters that had nothing to do with Disney that was nomoras decision because he felt they didn't serve s purpose at this point which I disagree with as you say kh is s final fantasy and Disney crossover while the Kh series has grown and had it's own identity that is no reason to remove one of the core features of the series so I'll admit that was a bad mode which I'm sure they will fix in dlc but back to my point kh3 is nothing like ff15 it didn't have multiple holes in the story that were missing it was not incomplete it was just as much of a complete game as the vanilla versions of kh1 and kh2
@@thatoneblackdude3333 missing features would be the ability to turn off attraction flow from the start which they added POST LAUNCH, critical mode which they added POST LAUNCH, radiant garden, the missable cutscenes in theatre mode (this is one of the main reasons as to why the game feels unfinished) , a playable kairi/riku/any guardians of light section in the meyblade graveyard, scala ed calem NOT being a explorable world like what was shown in concept art, final fantasy characters (nomura and square why the fuck did you remome them, you could have added riona in and the ff crew for story), no second visits to worlds on top of the fact that there is NO MIDDLE SECTION OF THE GAME AT ALL (That is the main reason as to why kh3 feels rushed as the other games had a second visit which is optional in both kh1 and kh2). Oh and no coliseum arena like in kh1 and kh2.
Some problems like these which are few but are indeed noticeable is what is holding kh3 back from being like one of the best kh games in the series. Oh and about the dlcs, i dont want it to go down the ffxv route of dlcs by being content that was cut from the game and sold to you the consumer who bought full price for the game as a add on instead of an expansion of what you have in the base game. An example on how this practice is done right is dark souls 1-3 and bloodborne, sekiro is going to have it too so i have my hopes up.
I love that you used Stella as the thumbnail of this video!
I’ll never forget her and VsXIII.
I HAVEN'T WATCHED THE VID yet, and I'm crying crying!! I truly love FFXV and Noctis.
I still remember the first trailer for Versus XII when I was 14 and imagining what kind of world it would take me to. Now I have a son of my own and can feel the heart wrenching pain that Regis must have felt knowing the fate of his only son. Thanks for the memories FFXV.
Although I'm not a fan of FFXV. Tip my hat off out of respect for this game. It was messy and underwhelming, yet had a lot of potential.
ardyn dat you?
Every ff game has potential so it really doesnt matter. The only important thing is if they did bring out its full potential
@@whatthe9256 *Take at look at where the mess of FF XIII and wasted potential of FF XIII-Versus now resting on the abyss.* Sound biased, but okay.
then again, just potential by itself isn't really worth anything
I haven't played ot yet, but it looked kinda fun to me
Good video. I am glad that XV is over. As a main FF game it was good, in my opinion, but as a re-branded Versus XIII it left a lot to be desired. Now they can finally move to their next project. Let us hope the devs learned from their mistakes and can apply those lessons in XVI.
Maybe not because they nerf the tifa in ff7R.
@@danielhao5790 I don't see any kind of nerf. If by nerf you mean Tifa's bust size that wasn't a problem when the game came out. Why would it be a problem now?
the story wasnt about noctis vs ardyn, it was actually about the pain we felt when versus was introduced 2006 and we witnessed it, taking its last breath in 2019 with its final dlc. that tragic story about pissed fans and dlcs planned for 3 years alone is on par with FFX and FF7.
At least we got to play FFX and FF7, we never even got to play versus 13 and got this half finished crap instead. I suppose that's what happens when you have people making a game who don't actually care about the project.
Jay Kalinka Nomura is a horrible Director and developer. Tabata took over the project and in six years Nomura didn’t even have playable scenarios.
@@jasonrobert3849 Because SE used his team and resources to finish other projects. What did you expect? And he already has the KH saga as proof of his capabilities. But here's the thing, Nomura did have playable scenarios. By 2010, the entire scenario for the game was completed, but because of the aforementioned transferring of resources happened, he was unable to really finish the game. Check your facts please.
kyouya134 I think Nomura proved he’s a horrible director with Kingdom Hearts 3 alone, which was essentially 4 hours of actual plot crammed into a game that was 30 hours of mostly filler. The Disney worlds were lifeless and did nothing to propel the main plot forward. The game was all style and no substance.
@@jasonrobert3849 It's the end of a saga. All it should be doing is to close up the plot, not progress it. And I'm honestly speechless over the "horrible director with KH3 alone" bit. Because KH3 even now is a much more complete game than XV ever could be, it delivers what fans want and is actually worth purchasing. It actually has a complete plot. Surprise, surprise! And the dlcs are content not cut out from the game for the sake of milking more money. Disney need not to be a focus for plot reasons because Nomura obviously want to steer the next installment away from it.
"The game was all style and no substance." You mean XV. That's literally all the game ever is.
Versus XIII made such a huge impact in my passion in video games as well, so it really sucks, heartbreaking, and hard to swallow that XV was such a huge disappointment. Whatever amount of hate I have for that game, It still has a place in my heart :(((( VERSUS XIII's concept will forever remain

Semisonic Closing Time could be the name of a limit break
I was 13, so it was literally half of my life. Also the theme of 13 is strong for me here, I was 13, the game was titled "13", and now it's been 13 years.
Also that Stella intro -cries-

It was my first Final Fantasy game, sad to see it go but I look forward to the future.
Luckily you have 12 more to get to, enjoy
Try the other ones in the series. It'll be way better than this. This could be the worst final fantasy in the series.
@@FloSick808 I can almost agree with that, even though i hate 13 and 3. Atleast 13 told a full story, even if it was incredibly dull, and convoluted.
it was also my first probably why l enjoyed it, same as silent hill 4, l loved the game while everyone hated it, then l played 1, 2 and 3 and l understood why, l still hate turn based combat though
I’m really happy that this game meant so much to you. Final Fantasy X is my defining entry and it is every bit as important to me as XV was to you. Can’t wait to see what’s next for both you and Final Fantasy.
I love ff15,. I even have the royal edition. I am so sad that it is ending. When I beat that game I had tears of joy BC final fantasy is my favorite franchise
So, they changed a game we wanted, gave us an unfinished game we didn't, and canceled what we got. I despise DLC anyway and refuse to buy it on principal. I played the core and that was it. I always find something to enjoy in every entry, and I did here as well. However, it was difficult. Finish. Games. Before. Releasing them. Please.
The golden age of gaming us over. This is the best we can hope for. The ability to patch a game post launch has made it so we now get live services. Also single player games are now the exception not the rule. They just don't make as much.
Though the balance is, admittedly, tipping, slowly but surely, the single player game, I believe, is still on equal footing with multiplayer, and still in the lead, I'd say. Zelda, Xenoblade, Persona, Trails of Cold Steel, Fire Emblem, Octopath, Tales of, KH, FF for the most part, Granblue, Dragon Quest, and on and on. There is still a steady stream, and in the past few years has seen a resurgence. And that's just the JRPG. Multiplayer is surging, though, and I can't personally see why since it's always a huge mess, but single player isn't the exception yet. The proof being the horrible sales of the XBone when it announced always online, and the backlash that came with it. Multiplayer is still tacked on for games that aren't specifically designed for it. I don't judge, nor do I have the right to look down on what people like, but I'll always be a single player guy, and when it ends, I'll no longer be a gamer.
@@Phont0 I disagree, DQXI showed us that it's still possible to make an amazing JRPG as long as the team behind it actually care about the project. No dlc and over 100 hours of great gameplay and story.
wheresatari you don’t even know if Versus was the game we wanted. When Tabata took over in 2012 the game didn’t have a single playable scenario. It was a bunch of assets he had to piece together.
This is my favorite final fantasy game. Still playing it today.
Thank god that's over. Hopefully Square Enix will reevaluate some things and bring the series back on track.
15 really was an amazing game. Still to this day the ending always gets me and I still try to play out new endings in my head. This game will always be my favorite.
There will be another whole uniqe era

Rest In Peace Versus XIII & Goodbye Final Fantasy XV!
Thank you, Tetsyua Nomura for that awesome Versus XIII trailer back in 06! And thank you for the awesome design of Noctis!
Even though you couldn't bring the game to life, but the memory of Versus XIII will stay in the heart of all Final Fantasy fans forever! And Thank you, Hajime Tabata for bringing this game to life in some shape or form! Most people hate on you for what you changed from Versus XIII to XV, but most people (like me) appreciate your gratitude for still making the game possible! No, it's not the game we saw back in 06, no, I'm still not 100% satisfied what FFXV became, but I AM STILL GRATEFUL for all your hard work!
And I know you did the best you could! THANK YOU! :)
This was a great video, the ending with Noctis got me.
I'll still always absolutely love 15, especially the chocobro squad and the character design but I hope Square learns from it. I feel like the game wouldn't have been so rushed if they didn't reveal it so early that the game just barely started development and honestly, Square should have been a little harsh with Nomura as apparently Square basically let him do whatever he wanted and that resulted in the numerous delays and prolonging. Here's to hoping 16 is even better!
It was unfinished but the characters, music and story was unforgettable I still listen to episode ignis theme to this day and ardyn's theme is just sad to end ffxv...it was a bittersweet experience
I was eight when the game was first announced. I only learned of its existence around 2010. I was excited for the game as the years went by. So when I got it, I was prepared for the journey. I just didn't know my journey would literally take up three years of waiting for more updates before I could finish the game. I honestly wish it left off on a better not, but I think it's better this way.
GET IN KID, WE'RE ON OUR WAY TO FFXVI.
Hopefully the next era is the Final Fantasy 7 Remake
i want a final fantasy 6,7,8,remake and maybe crisis core
Booooo!!! Ff7 is overrated
Nah, that's not the next era. That's just a reminder of the past. Nostalgia for Nostalgia.
The next era is XVI and hoping that it'll become good again. 7 remake is a trip to the past and 'must' be a step back to the right track.
I dont know, I love Final Fantasy VII, but it would be awesome to start working on Final Fantasy XVI
A great game destroyed by bad management, pointless DLCs and collaborations. I enjoyed it, but it gave me a feeling of emptiness. Plus, the second season pass move was a pretty bad move for loyal day one fans.
Goodbye FFXV, thank you for trying.
I will always remember this game as my first disappointing game. Had too much potential, yet everything became trash.
FFXV was my first game of the franchise I loved it! I'm right there with you with the DLC we could have had but never got but I'm happy that we got episode Ardyn
I feel that they should've made the entire thing a book before turning it to a game mostly because it felt like they were running blind while making it.
SE level management was doing the human anatomy level of getting stabbed with a knife and leaving it there for 10 years, letting all the blood bleed out, in terms of their finances.
I wish they be better than they were in the next era as Square and their Final fantasies are part of my childhood (and consumers get to win that way so..)
You were at Noctis's age when the game was teased. You were then at the age of Regis when the game's released.
Final Fantasy XV really helped a almost broken me heal myself and a an almost broken friendship to the absolute extreme. This game lead me to meet and bond with another of my now closest friends. This game and it’s world will never truly fade for me as it has done so much for me. Friendship, reality escape, cosplay, conventions and so much more. Final Fantasy XV... I will always treasure you.
I'm not a gamer and just like to watch people play it. But it's not my daily activity. But one day on december 2017 I happened to listen to Valse di Fantastica on YT ( I always listen to some classic game music while working on college assignment), and really love the song. I searched the source of the song, and encountered with FFXV gameplay. That's how the first time I fell in love with FFXV and entering the FF fandom. At first I don't anything, but then I learned about Square Enix and FF history, I learned about E3, knowing some gaming channels on youtube, game music composer, spend hours to watch FF gameplay, and many more. I love FFXV story and barely crying when watching through the end. No matter what people said, thanks to FFXV, my life changed, and it's the first time in my life to think about working in game industry, because of FFXV. Now after episode Ardyn, It's really a final of this series. 😥 This brought me to the nostalgic feeling of the period when I watching FFXV. I definitely want to buy the novel if it's already translated into english.
It's not that somber to me, least of all because of the new ending, the real ending in my eyes. It's still bittersweet in some measure, but in a much more satisfying manner.
"All living things die, but at least I'll never have to sacrifice myself in the name of a lie... never again...! ...This time, it's really over." ~ Noctis
Some people say that Final Fantasy Xv was a mess, some say it was empty, but i think that Final Fantasy XV is one, spezial for me, of the best Final Fantasys.
XV was just a fan-service through and through thanks to Tabata-san how took that what was left from Versus XIII.
Noctis and all the other characters where so realistic and made with heart, that took me and my siblings completly through the Story, which on my opinion was simply amazing.
Sure, it is not a perfect game, but beauty identefies it self from feelings, expierence and even that what maby missing, XV you'll always gona have a big spot in our hearts.
I will give it that FFXV had advantages over some of the others in that it could have voice actors (and great ones at that) and amazing graphics, but I always have to quirk a brow when people insult it's story compared to the other FFs.
Now, I stopped playing at about 7, and just played 11 and 14 before 15. I liked the earlier FFs. They had good things going for them. But were their stories better than FF15's? Not really. They were much simpler. They did great things with what capabilities they had at the time, and they were fun fantasy stories that were better than the competitors, but they weren't particularly better than 15's.
A lot relies on the characters for games. I think the reason FF6 is so well-loved is that it had a large cast of characters, mostly very likable. It wasn't necessarily the story. In comparison, I only really liked Faris from FF5.
In comparison to a more recent game, I thought Breath of the Wild was absolutely beautiful and a lot of fun. But I don't look for fanart or stories or anything else from the game, much as I thought it was very well done. I do still look for FF15 stuff, because FF15 had some solid characters that I really liked. Maybe not as many as FF6, but I did love Noctis, Prompto and Ignis quite a bit - and you spend the whole game with them. I want to see art of them, read cute stories about them, find out more history, and essentially spend more time with these boys.
And that's exactly where FF15 got me. There were low points, like when Luna died and I realized I was mostly "Ah, well", because we didn't know her.
A few minutes later, Ignis was hurt, and I was devastated.
It missed some marks, and it hit others out of the park. There were parts of this game that made me feel a lot more than any other game ever had. So, it's always going to hold a place in my heart.
FF games are so apart of our lives. It's more than just a game. It's our childhood and adulthood. These previous memories are forever. Thank you!!!
I still think that Stella had a better chance of being a better character than Luna.
It is likely that we'll get a versus XV in the next console generation where the story of versus XIII will instead be presented.
it is hard to let something close to our heart go away from us so easily. But it does promises a new "dawn of the future".
A game full of expectations and excitement gone down the drain
Yh 15 had its issues but it was my introduction to final fantasy and i love it
Really sad when you put it into perspective as to how long it has been since it was first mentioned and to think of the final product it felt empty and lonely and the end left me with alot more questions than answers even after episode ardyn
"Good Night, Sweet Prince"
I was also following this game ever since the first trailer came out, I was only a highschool kid back then and now that I'm 28 years old and finished FFVX which the game we didn't get what it was. Now that I've finally moved on with FFXV it'll still remain a place in my heart, I know it has its major flaws but the game was fun and bittersweet. I hope they'll fix the upcoming FFXVI which has been reported earlier to be released on next-gen consoles, take your time and don't rush the game like how you did with FFXV.
I'm a simple Ultima, I see Stella, I click!
I really enjoyed follow FFXV, really made me make new friends and discover new cosplayers, youtubers, etc (like you here hahaha) and while I wish we had a more complete project, I'm happy I got this experience following FFXV news and playing the game over these last years.
Final Fantasy XV will always hold a special place in my heart. 😭 But now its time to look forward to THE NEW ERA!😢😊
I am just sad that the level editor never came out... would have been great to give us the possibility to add new stuff or fix it even more
I really loved the entire open map and camping feature. You interact with your party more and have fun with them and share in the laughs, smiles, and lastly misery. That goodbye at the end of the game brought me to tears. It's one of the only games that I really vividly remember almost every scene. I'm glad I got to see another final fantasy game in my life considering they take a while to release.
It feels like the typical ending screen of a Final Fantasy. The ones you never really want to see, but ultimately have to.
However, as sad as it might be, especially in case of XV, a new Final Fantasy story will dawn one day. :)
I knew how much was hinging on XV when the word start spreading that if it didn't hit a fairly high sales benchmark, Square would probably close. When I heard that, I knew I had to show my support. Like many, I bought the steelbook with the game, the extras, and the movie. But even beyond that, my second tattoo is nothing less than XVs version of Leviathan taking up half my back. Square is important. FF is important. XV is important. I'm proud to be a part of this fantastic community.
I haven't lost hope for the concepts of Versus 13 to take shape one way or another, in the future.
*cough* *cough* Verum Rex *cough* *cough*
It seems like we got a glimpse at verus 13 from Yozora in kh3
@@betablue7082 I know but, that will still have a Kingdom Hearts age rating
@@dora_tutuncu KH will never have a mature rating so even if many of the concepts carry over, it won't be as far and griddy
@@TheJozzi True, I also wish for a darker final fantasy, perhaps even one as we play as the villian but we don't realise it, like the omen trailer perhaps. I enjoyed it when FF used to be mind boggling and had deeper meaning, but FFXV kind of let me down in that sense too. Versus 13 was promising in that sense
The only FF I had played all the way through prior to this was FFVII. It was also my first open-world and my first PS4 game as well, so I give this game so much credit where it's due. The story wasn't handled the best, but the gameplay and graphics were top notch in my opinion. I didn't much of the DLC at all but I thoroughly enjoyed the base game and with the amount of stuff to do, I definitely felt like I got my money's worth. A solid 8.5/10
😭
This was the first Final Fantasy game I've ever played...
First final fantasy I ever gave up on and never finished
Man 15 disappointed me, it was nothing like what I wanted. I wasnt even hyped for the dlcs after I beat the game, really hope Square can deliver next and not promises of things they cant bring
You're retrospective was very moving to me because it was very similar to my own experience with this game. No game has given more greater heights of anticipation and loftier disappointment. I will never forget this game either, though in a way I find that to be quite bad since I feel like I wasted years of my life waiting for this game and never felt like I got a sense of closure. The game that I was so excited for never released. Though I appreciate many things about the game, I cannot help but think of the waste of potential that it turned out to be.
Like you, I am happy for the experience but for a different reason. Because of this game, I will never be take a video game so seriously ever again. They just aren't worth getting so emotionally invested in. I have placed my faith and trust in Christ alone for salvation and believe that if I am going to expend such vast energy on something, it must be of eternal consequence.
Wow that was powerful, and very wise. Most people do not have the hindsight to see how a game has affected their state of being. (Generally negative), but you were able to identify that, and choose a different path. I commend you, and am sorry this game was such a disappointment to so many, including myself...
I absolutely adore FFXV. I'm always sad when I hear people say they're "glad it's over", that it was disappointing and should be a better game, because it was a GREAT game. It's just not what you expected from those long years of waiting and trailers. You know why I love it so much? Because I wasn't watching every trailer and expecting those things to be there. I went to play it blind with no expectations, not knowing anything about it, decided to watch the movie and anime after playing chapter 1 and fell in love with the whole universe and the characters. I don't care about Stella, or Versus-XIII and I'm glad it's the way it is. Honestly, after playing the game and watching the old trailers people expected so much, I'm glad it wasn't the final result, because I'd probably not like it as much. I wish people wouldn't blame the game for their own expectations on it and enjoy it as it is.
I didn't know anything about vsxiii and I still found it to be bad. But if you liked it then good for you, I just couldn't find a lot of good things about it.
I really love FF versus xiii and hope something like it comes out some day but i agree with your post, we should be happy with what we got they did their best with FFXV
It's been quite a rollercoaster ride but I'm happy I got to experience it. Here's to a bright future and carving the path for concepts similar to Versus and XV.
not to be dramatic or anything but i swear i’m actually gonna be in mourning over the end of this game. it did so much for me:
- introduced me to PlayStation franchise and opened my mind to be willing to try games from every platform (i was a diehard Nintendo girl before and would only play Nintendo games)
- introduced me to final fantasy and it’s beautiful world in general
- i felt extremely close to all the characters, even the villains, of the game after playing. they felt like family to me
- inspired me to try other games from the franchise and similar titles
- taught me the importance of friendship and close family ties through the teamwork and support required to finish every stage💖
i know the game has received quite a bit of hate since its release, but my own personal experience was absolutely incredible. i’ve played lots of other final fantasy games since this one, and even now, it’s still my favorite. it’s been a unforgettable era and i’m actually really sad to see it go. i’m not ready. but i’m keeping an open mind and i’m sure that whatever comes next will be great🎀🎀☁️☁️
This is incredible and touching to me. Thank you for sharing this.
I’m 25 now and I still remember the utter joy I felt seeing that original trailer for Versus XIII. And lately, as I look back retrospectively at the series and how much I adore the franchise, I honestly see myself picking up all the DLC and playing the game to completion, as much as I despise the concept of DLC in this current unfinished state.
The fact that I’ve waited for this game for so long and when it finally came out on PC I bought it and never played it. Today it still sits in my steam library.
*sniffles* so wonderfully said!
The beauty of FF that there's some who discover or revisit these worlds and characters over and over again.
I remember playing 7 as a kid and now as an adult, I hear the rumblings of the remake?
It's a never a goodbye, but until next time we meet!
I will continue to say this. Dear SE, next time you want do make your own engine, hire the Capcom RE Engine people. DO NOT try to do it on your own again EVER........ By trying to power through making your own engine, you almost destory yourself.......
What's wrong with their engine? It seemed fine to me.
The next mainline Final Fantasy game will use the Unreal Engine 4, the same one used in FF 7 Remake.
"Whats wrong with their engine"? It was a realy complex mess, in general, developing and maintaing a game engine and then developing and maintaing a game to it is realy hard and completly unnecessary in times where u get excellent game engines like unreal engine 4 or cry engine with little afford. Do you want devs to actualy develop THE GAME , or rework stuff that other guys did already many many years over and over? (3d environment and logic).
Whats the advantage of using a mainline game engine? You can employ people that dont need to know the specifics of the internals of a game engine, and develop tools and the whole pipeline
The FF15 has milions of issues, if you would have watched this video you would have noticed what he was saying, the game crashing and not even running on Xbox.
@@xGhostKidx9 They spent like 20 years and Millions of dolllers on perfecting it, and it is still outdated compared to Unreal or Unity........ Also, people work under SE need time to learn how to use the engine. That is more time and money spent on something that not necessary. The point of having your own engine is to save time and money, but in SE's case, it is the complete opposite. They spent way too much time and money patching and modernizing the engine, and yet, time after time it just prove them wrong.
I truly loved FFXV. Got on board very late with the PC version, which came with most DLCs and bugs fixed... it was a very smooth and fun ride I'll always keep fond memories of. But you're right, it's time to move on and fully embrace what the future holds. XVI, we're ready for you !
From a 14 year old freshling to a 27 years old prince. the journey for you has been long and far like a lot of us 90s kids and it's a shame we never did get the original game.
I didn’t know that you’d be capable of making me cry. This video really did make me realise that for all I really hate what FFXV turned out to be, it does have a really special place in my heart since this is The Game that I have been waiting for since the very first trailer! Just like you I’ve spent half of my life waiting for this game, I got the collectors edition, I went to see the movie and I cried so much when I finally started it up for the first time on the PS4. I hate that this game means as much to me as it does because it didn’t live up to what I wanted it to be, but the era of XV coming to an end really feels comforting, it feels like I’m getting closure after years of being really disappointed. I just hope that the *trauma* that the release of XV gave me won’t have an impact on my excitement for the reveal of the next mainline Final Fantasy game. This is my favourite video of yours, it really made me rethink my feelings about this game and how it impacted my life, don’t stop making these videos 👏
Let's be honest, the community is usually the best about a fandom.
I'll just go apply fanfiction to what canon left hanging.
Goodbye XV, the only FF main title, that makes me feel bitter everytime I think about it.
Let me tell you, that by the end of this video I was already crying. I'll never forget the feeling of greatness of the supposed trailer of Versus XIII and how crazy I was for any information regarding the game. As a Final Fantasy long time fan I never thought this trailer would change my life for the best. I've made friends, I am one of Facebook's ffxv related pages adm and even now I still cosplay Ignis, after 3 long years. I've never felt so much happiness in a gaming community as in ffxv, this game is, with it's fails, one of the best games I've ever played and I'm grateful for that.
Thanks for that video. Been a huge Final Fantasy XV fan since 7 and have played many of the sequels and prequels and spin offs but XV was a big part of my life recently. When the day it arrived I gave all my attention to it for the past couple years and only playing a few other games in between. It was a disappointment to hear the remaining DLC were canceled and will never get the closure we deserve. Even though this game wasn’t the one we asked for the Royal Edition was still a well polished product and story that I can be satisfied with. These characters and story are now part of my life.
I cannot but say we are from the same I was older so saw marriage, two kids and a home come before this game yet the experience indeed defined me, I was a fan of it recognizing it's defects, it's strengths and it's potential. Funny I evolved with the game first like you looking up to Noctis, then Regis being a father myself (that game ending made me cry for more time I can imagine) and at last Episode Ardyn elevated the villain into the realm of favourite characters of all time. Like you I will missed it happy to know I am not alone on the feels for the game.
I'm not crying. You are.
i am 23 now ever since the age of 5 i was playing games and when noctis said "you guys are the best" it was my first time crying for a game's ending
NOW I WATCHED THE FULL VID, The ending Portion hit me like Avengers EndGame did After the first viewing.....
"You guys...are the best."
Why did you have to make me cry man?
The biggest heartbreak for XV was how much potential this narrative had that wasn’t capitalized on. This really could have been a resurgence of the franchise, a refresher for the fandom!
I will admit ff15 wasn’t the best and of games or story’s, but I enjoyed enjoyed every last minute of it. Noctis has become one of my favorite characters and with some of the coolest powers. It was sad that dawn of the future was canceled and turned into a book, but i feel like the ending was good. It’s been a fun ride these last couple of years. Farewell Noctis
This was Square decided RPGs should be shooters on rails.
ffxv basically just felt like procrastination, you hated yourself for playing it but knew that deep down you wanted to. the second half of the game was just depressing in every aspect, and the cancellation of dawn of the future still hurts to this day, so all in all, as much of an enjoyable experience this game has brought, it has brought just as much disappointment and dissatisfaction. despite only getting into the game in early august 2017, nothing i had hoped for had been fully realised, and i leave off this game with a empty feeling of non-fulfilment, everything i had wanted after my first playthrough, aka the dawn of the future dlc, was promised and then cancelled. so whatever.
It's my biggest hope that they relese a final mix version on the ps5 with every episode in it. If they did the game would be perfect.
For now fishing simulator + gladio episode 15 is a great game.
I absolutely loved 15. Even if I was disappointed it was not Vs 13 or what we were promised, I still have so many fond memories of playing the game and being apart of the community as a whole. FFXV will always have a place in my heart as one of my favorite games of all time, and I’m glad I could be there through every part of it. And I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Good bye Aranea. I'll miss you and your unintentionally sexy pep talks.
I wanted episode Luna and episode noctis, so freaking cool the plot is for it...(luna ardyn noct and aranea team up and fight in a party for episode noctis and for episode Luna she is revived with demon powers) Honestly it could be its own game so let's go FF15 II!
Very well said. I didn’t like how the game went but im glad to have gone through it all: the decade of hype, the different forms of media, and eventually the game
Can I get a comprehensive guide on what I need to watch/read/purchase to fully grasp the story of XV?
My only gripe with it is so many seemingly important characters either got killed off (Ravus being the only one with no explanation to it at first) or disappeared with little development they obviously did not know what to do with them hell even Arenea was one fight and done other than that I enjoyed the game.
i don’t comment on all of your videos, but i just wanted to express myself and say i really love your channel and appreciate how much heart and soul you pour into all the content you provide for us. i’m looking forward to your future content as well!!
I’m glad to have you comment and I’m soooo grateful that you’ve been enjoying the vids. Cheers to the future of FF & JRPGs :)
I will never forget the good times and happy days I had playing Final Fantasy XV. It has been a journey that lasted years and it's a game that took me ages to finally let go of. I remember watching the versus XIII trailers back in 2013 with so my hype and excitement, then when it got changed to XV I was even more hyped for it, watching loads of trailers in 2014.
I felt Square wanted to do wonders with this game and wanted Final Fantasy 15 to be the best Final Fantasy but sadly it all turned into a mess. But a beautiful mess as the game had something beautiful about it but with a messy development. I enjoyed the unfinished 2016 version but it was even better in 2018 buying the royal edition, living at a home that I was happier in, playing all the DLC, updates, looking forward and so happy about dawn of the future, my mum loving the prayer of the oracle song that plays at the menu in Episode Ardyn. Man..
Saying goodbye to FFXV in 2019 was emotional and this game will always be special to me. Despite it's faults, I loved it and will always remain my 3rd favorite in the series.
Best one you’ve made so far bro this game brought me to this channel so yeah it’s made some solid impacts on me.
That was beautiful, my dude. Made me tear up even thought I have not even advanced an hour into that game. We all have games like that. One that leave a lasting mark and a bitter sweet taste once they are done. FF 10 was that game for me and I know just by looking at FF15, that game will be a repeat journey for me.
an overhyped underwhelming game ROFL... the biggest disappointment of the franchise
Calm down Chester lmao
We're done now? Bloody finally, now we can move onto the next entry into the series.
Thank you, the only time I was mad for purchasing a final fantasy game. It sits at the bottom of my stack, so if I spill something nearby a good game won't get soaked.
End of an Era - Such a strong shoutout to XIV's original state's beautiful decimation to pathe the way for its re-release...
And much like in the case of XIV, the end of XV pathes the way for something new. And maybe, just maybe, something stronger from its ashes.
I've been with Square Enix all my life, through their strongest times and their weakest. I'm eager and excited see them learn and find their stride in the next numbered title!
Whatever it may be, at least we know two things for absolute certain:
1) There will always be amazingly strong characters in a world that will absolutely soak our imaginations with substance.
2) Soundtracks ready to leave us in awe, shuddering in delight and brimming with emotion.

I played only the demo of this game, and I was super stoked back then. However, one day I'll get around to the full game because of the massive amount of lore, and extra content that was made. Hope to see more content from ya.
Hope that one day in the future there will be a FFXV remake :) I will wait till that day!
