I loved FFXV, it was the first Final Fantasy game in years that my eyes didn't start going cross eyed and almost going to sleep. My complaint is that it's too short and the magic system.
The problem with XV is that Square Enix showed us the story before the game was released by releasing a movie and anime series and other things and wanted to put DLC, I felt the game was empty, We kinda played just the ending and there was no transiton between chapters and no proper bosses and I didn't even use magic until the last boss. I started playing this game during a situation in which I could relate almost too closely to FFXV. I had just started doing some construction work outside my home city, being accommodated for at a motel, and the employers were paying for week-days only, expecting that we return home for the weekend, and so no one week was spent living in the same motel unit, and we were constantly being moved and shuffled, and it was exhausting at times. And I related so closely to FFXV because of all the constant driving around back and fourth, characters complaining about their butts hurting, or feet hurting, Or having been dirty and gross all day. This game actually helped me get through my situation. FFXV Is popular because its fans can relate.
I think FF XV will stand the test of time. History will remember it more fondly than the critics. It has everything the classics have and more. I’ve played and replayed the main story countless times and with the royal edition content it’s really just timeless. It just didn’t have everything we were promised, but it was still amazing
Still Crying over the loss of an dark, epic, tragic Story where Maybe noctis only gets to realize at the very end that he worked for the dark Side the whole Time without ever Knowing (and thats Why Stella had to Fight him). And also "Eyes that See the lights of Exploring souls" This Game Could have been Pretty much on the same Level as FFVII 😭😭😭
To be honest, I never quite understood the hype around Stella. We didn't know much about her so such attachment to her by some fans is odd to me. Plus, once of the devs revealed that her fate isn't that different than Luna's and that they are more alike than people realize. I would say more but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't beaten the game.
Actually, of the major characters, Noctis and Stella were the characters we initially had the most information about. It wouldn't be until after the re-branding of FFXV that we'd learn more about the bros. Noctis and Stella were also the first characters who were shown with in game footage and Stella's characterization had already been shown along with Noctis'. People using the "we didn't know much about her" seem to be unable to recognize that you could say that more about other characters at the time. You are taking for granted just how much we actually did know about her from interviews and trailers. People had an attachment because Noctis and Stella both had major focus, story trailers and other miscellaneous pieces of information. People fell in love with the concept of the hero and heroine having to tragically come to blows with each other, especially after the meeting scene prototype showed their dynamics. That's why they had an attachment to Stella and still do. The stuff we knew about her was enough to get people hooked and to have that taken away for what seemed like flimsy reasons is why there was such a major backlash. However, even if you throw out the lack of information fallacy, here's the problem with saying Luna's fate isn't so different from Stella's or her role. If that's the case, then what was the point in making Luna to begin with? Why even make a major controversy about it if Luna was basically just a renamed Stella but with certain story beats dropped? It shows a major mismanage if that really is the case, because it shows, in the end, that removing Stella was utterly and 100% pointless in the grand scheme of things. I've said this before to other people, Tabata and his team have no reason to reveal what Stella's role in the finished scenario was originally, so allowing misinformation to spread is just the way it is. We can speculate and believe whatever we want based on what we know, but the truth is we know even less about the problems with Stella and Luna than we do about Stella's role.
Seeing the casual gas station near ennemies without a hint of defense broke the immersion instantly for me. Dudes wearing jeans and shirts without any weapon and unable to defend themselves when blood thirsty creature roam 500 feets away. Cities and habits would be entirely different. That beign said I still enjoy the game overall, It's just a constant reminder that it's assets slapped together.
Despite the development hell and the carousel of changes, I'm super happy with how XV ended up. I'm playing it again after platting it in 2016, and it's aged really well (not saying much considering it's only been 2 and a half years...)
Glad to see the love here, as so many people these days seem to hop on the hate train for this game, even though when it came out the only complaints was around Chapter 13.
I love FFXV. I know it's not perfect, like some of the side quests are painfully boring but it's still such a good game. The graphics are gorgeous, awesome summons, the music is great, the gameplay is great but can get repetitive and the story is interesting but vague. I'm actually about to do the final part of FFXV which includes the dawn of the future story, etc. What an experience it's been, such a shame we never got those DLC's but I'm a sucker for interesting stories and I felt FFXV had that. It was emotional too.
I love final fantasy 15, I actually just started the game over after getting close to the end because I didn’t want to experience it yet. One suggestion to anyone who’s still early game or hasn’t started, once you unlock Chocobo’s in the story stop doing the story and explore some.
Final Fantasy XV is a hidden gem. It’s sad that those with close minds and negative thoughts didn’t experience the game to its potential. From the well fitted voice acting to the master piece of a soundtrack. Not to mention all the extra content.
FFXV is my 2nd favorite Final Fantasy (FFX is my favorite, it was my first Final Fantasy game) I loved FFXV too bad that they didn't make those last DLCs (I was so hyped for Luna's DLC) at least, they made Ardyn's DLC...the concept of Dawn of Future was pretty cool...an alternative ending...the original ending was too sad for me...that was a good game...
Never understood why some of the audience felt the need to be spoon-fed/explained to with this particular final fantasy. The whimsy of the gods and their own ideals sold it for me, the ending felt a bit rushed and i did want to explore a world of perpetual night time but having aspects of the plot left to my imagination was worth so much :D
Switching to prompto meant you can cheese your opponent by unleashing a whole army’s worth pf bullets to the opponent’s weakspot. Choosing Gladio meant you can just hold block and build rage and murk the boss enemy and choosing ignis meant not even getting hit, like at all. They’re all cheap and I love them all for it
This was my first final fantasy game I have ever played ever since I was born on 2009. This game showed me how final fantasy game are like. Now I just finished ff7 remake and it was AWESOME
The game wasn't perfect, that's the truth. But for me and many people was a great way to start playing Final fantasy, and in my case I fell in love with the franchise and with the game.
1st playthrough cried. Then I didn't (almost) 2nd and so on playthroughs with the updates and dlcs later on. I'm not a day one just pick it up used along the line with no internet. Hence why I cried 1st playthrough. And 1st FF storyline beaten.(so I felt accomplished and a little emotional after all the high level enemies in the 10yr. time lapse sequence and hope there was a happier ending but nothing except tears. Great game through and through.
I genuinely enjoyed the game play, visuals, and overall format of 15 more than every previous game. The plot being so difficult to care about and understand without dlc is what makes me never want to play it again. I felt like I understood the characters so much better with the dlc episodes, all of which should have been in the original playthrough, aside from maybe Gladio's.
Hmm, personally I liked the original chocobro ending more than the day one patch version. I thought it was interesting to have the scene fade before the final line. But that could just be because that's what I had on my first playthrough, like how people prefer one FF over another simply because it's the first they played
I swear that I still learn something "new" about FFXV even years after I first played it. This game had incredible potential, for the full storyline was BRILLIANT and INTENSE! But...why could you not learn the whole game in 1 game...? Why all the spinoff games, and I even heard of a "book" that gives you more insight into the story? The original game was too short and obviously very incomplete, I don't want to play a million other games and read books and videos to get the "full" story. I hope Square Enix NEVER does that again...
I'm going to play this completely from scratch here soon, but I'm so not looking forward to redoing Piteoss, lol. Though I've seen enough walkthroughs to know it by heart now. Oh, and that dungeon near Hammerhead. I hate labyrinths. And if I had one lament left from this game, it would be the ages. Gladio doesn't look 23 to me and Ignis doesn't look 22. Both look mid to late 20's, or like they should be married with several kids and a house, lol. It felt like they were afraid of those two being too much older than Noctis and that's why they made them those ages. Otherwise, I'm still deeply in love with this game and am getting my kicks with writing comedy stories about them, though King Regis has become my favorite, followed by fanboying Noctis (the Noctis we get for the Assassin's festival).
I cannot decide how much I like FFXV. Sometimes, I hate it because it is so imcomplete. Sometimes I think about how much worse it could have beem and I end up loving it. In the end, the one to blame is Square Enix. Despite what you think about FFXV, I think we can all agree that SE was extremely incompetent in its development. Actually, SE had beem incompentent for a long time now, since Hironobu Sakaguchi left the company. Honestly, I think they never fully recovered. I just hope they have learned their lesson with FFXV and won't commit the same mistakes again.
After seeing ardyn’s DLC.. this game should’ve been about him. It would’ve been a refreshing story from square Enix.. no matter how much our hero wanted to be good, the gods tore his life apart and played him like a puppet, twisted him to the point where his only redemption is to play his part and be evil. So he can die in peace. But his insanity makes him forget that it’s all the gods’ game and he steps into the villain’s role completely. So good. Ardyn is probably the most fleshed out character.
An excellent game, handicapped by what it could have been, expectations aside the game felt unfinished in its narration and the dlc and updates fix some but the game in some part seems to have been axed contents. I really loved it but i still feel something was missing to be memorable
I'll always complain about VersusXIII and how much I'd like it to be a real game, as of long it was the trailer that got me hyped for years, and after all the XV was not exactly what I wanted but boy it is a great game. What can I say? You guys... Are the best.
I super loved the art direction for this game along with the solemn sounding score. The seemingly lifted directly from Amano creature designs were fireeeeeee. I just wish we could know what the story was going to be, beat by beat and everything that vs. XIII was going to be, gameplay wise. That’ll likely NEVER come to light and elements of which will probably be used here and there in future games.
FF15 is a weird game, the only word I can describe it with is "disjointed". It shows that it has been in process a long time and is put together from several not always compatible parts. Overall I still liked it, but there's a lot of stuff that could have been done way better.
I liked the game, it was unusual because you would only have 4 characters to your team, and you couldnt control the other 3 brothers, and only Noctis. It was also unusual because there were no female characters who joined your party. it was in every sense of the word a sausage fest.
I knew that the game had a complicated development cycle but I had no idea it was this messy. It's a miracle the game came out the way it was. I really enjoyed and still playing it to This day.
I think I speak for a lot of people when I say: FUCK this game's chapter 13 that's just a long linear hallway of shitty repetitive jumpscares. I think they actually might have intentionally made that revolting loathed part of the game and called it "chapter 13" because of Final Fantasy 13 and how shit and linear that game is.
It's funny that they want from a female character whose name means star (Stella is star in latin) to "Luna" meaning "moon". Although I don't understand why they changed her character completely and didn't just repurpose her like the other characters.
Erasing Stella was the worst thing that could have happened. They should have left her original role or even transformed her into the cousin of Lunafreya and potential enemy like Ravus was at first. Or even as one of the chocobros for later on betray Noctis. :( Not so many people like Luna, I rather preffer Stella or Aera before her. Funny thing, the Usurper was never Ardyn but Luna xDDDD
I don't approve of Luna's tear being removed at all, it adds so much to the beauty of their relationship! Keep in mind i did not actually play the game.I learned that japan as a whole prefers to have people specialize and has a one-path mindset, and yet they also love to add chaos by that same token by changing directors more times than i cared to count. I have no idea what that means tho beyond possibly the fact that this would lead to multiple traces of influences and styles.
I really hate to live in the world where Versus 13 has been turned into a rushed and incomplete XV. On the other hand, I'm glad to live in the world where the game has at least been released instead of being scrapped completely. My hope is that they will come back to XV at some point in the future. Maybe a vain hope, but you never know what tomorrow will bring.
FFXV, if they had a girl on the team, made a proper magic system, write 5-6 solid side quests instead of pure hunts, flesh out the second map a tad more (maybe combine the desert train stop) and lastly, make the final act transition a tad smoother. Especially if they made leviathan fight a tad earlier instead of beginning of the end. Could be one of the best game ever made.
The ending needs to have a photoshop done where Noctis hands Luna the photo, and all that's on it is a list of all the content that got cut from the game leading up to its release. I loved FFXV, especially before the patches, but when you start to look at those changes, it kinda stings.
1. Cor Leonis needed to be a main character. 2. Cor Leonis needed to be a main character. 3. Cor Leonis needed to be a main character. 4. Cor Leonis needed to be a main character. 5. Cor Leonis needed to be a main character. 6. Cor Leonis needed to be a main character. 7. Cor Leonis needed to be a main character.
I love and hate this game. Some of the acting and exploration of emotions is top tier. The story/world as good as Dark Souls, should be top tier. But, very badly executed - most of the really juicy details buried (badly) in an optional nearly impossible endgame dungeon, and a lot of what's left exclusive to paid DLC. Top that with bad pacing, bad (if visually impressive) combat, bad open world fetch quests, and the whole expanded universe thing that confused and shut out as many people as it excited, they really held back what should be one of the best RPGs out there.
I was incredibly excited for this game...until I played it. I gave it a good 10 hours, but I just couldn't get into it. I've listened to the OST countless times, though. Great info, though! Very interesting stuff.
I still want FF Versus 13 like I said even if they dubbed it FFXV-2 I’ll accept that. Make this one a dark turn good story. Don’t give us FF 16 just yet give us what we should’ve had in the first place as V-13. Square y’all still have the old data of that game give it to us. Just like Capcom gave us RE2-remake give us FF versus 13 as FFXV-2.
Have to give credits to Ray Chase. His voice acting for Noctis turned out phenomenal. I could hear Noctis's sense of helplessness throughout the scenes during the final chapters

We will probaly see stella again in kingdom hearts somewhere. She is still Nomuras character design.
Out of all the final fantasies I put the most hours into ff15, but 7 is still my favortite :P
Me too. I loved the ChocoBros. They were my bros and the end killed me. It was an amazing game and story for sure.
I m still sad that we didn't get the last of FFXV dlcs , but i still hope they can make the dlcs at some point in the future
Theyll probably add the dlc when they eventually remake the game another 5-10 years down the line hopefully
It might not be the best story, or game, or experience, but this game had hands down the best bromance, period.
One suggestion to anyone who’s still early game or hasn’t started, once you unlock Chocobo’s in the story stop doing the story and explore some.
no wonder the game and its universe feel all over the place with 20000 directors
Final Fantasy XV is a hidden gem. It’s sad that those with close minds and negative thoughts didn’t experience the game to its potential. From the well fitted voice acting to the master piece of a soundtrack. Not to mention all the extra content.
I remember really digging Ray's voice on Episode Duscae... It made me go into the series liking Noctis'
They’re all cheap and I love them all for it
The more we know, the more we enjoy the game!! I'm still playing 15 to this day, and 12 on the side!! 😀
This was my first final fantasy game I have ever played ever since I was born on 2009. This game showed me how final fantasy game are like. Now I just finished ff7 remake and it was AWESOME
As an 08 I agree
But that could just be because that's what I had on my first playthrough, like how people prefer one FF over another simply because it's the first they played
great video and sweet timing too. Literally just finished my first play through yesterday.
I don't understand why this game is getting so much hate. I know some people don't get the story but the game doesn't deserve so much hate.
i bought ps4 pro to play FF15, the wait was worth it.
XV was awesome. Such an interesting story, I couldn't stop playing! Also, I cried like a little baby more than once!
Great video I had no idea there was the 11 directors and the Spanish translation made my day
I'm going to play this completely from scratch here soon, but I'm so not looking forward to redoing Piteoss, lol.
The more video you put out about the game the more I wanted more out of it. It wasn't bad but it definitely could have been better
I love ffxv
After seeing ardyn’s DLC.. this game should’ve been about him. It would’ve been a refreshing story from square Enix.. no matter how much our hero wanted to be good, the gods tore his life apart and played him like a puppet, twisted him to the point where his only redemption is to play his part and be evil. So he can die in peace. But his insanity makes him forget that it’s all the gods’ game and he steps into the villain’s role completely. So good. Ardyn is probably the most fleshed out character.
3:24 You may also like "Of Course Someone Shot a Porn Video in a Tesla Driving on Autopilot" xD priceless
Oh the Noct line... Imma go cry in a corner now...... My beautiful prince..... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
8:55 "Twenty Eleventeen"
King's Glaive is probably what I like the most of XV. Never been a fan of this one except for that. I'm happy for those who enjoy it nonetheless.
_love_ that call-out to the devs about Stella from the Spanish translation team
If Versus 13's assets sold this well, imagine how much they'd make if they released the game. Crazy.
FF15 is a weird game, the only word I can describe it with is "disjointed". It shows that it has been in process a long time and is put together from several not always compatible parts. Overall I still liked it, but there's a lot of stuff that could have been done way better.
What’s the name of the song playing in the background of this video?
Seeing this in 2021, do you guys think we will get something FFXV related? Afterall it is the 5th anniversary.
FFXV is still a solid game
Amazing channel lads
THANK YOU FOR THIS. I LOVE THIS GAME AND AM FIRMLY ON TEAM "ARDYN IZUNIA DID NOTHING WRONG"
I liked the game, it was unusual because you would only have 4 characters to your team, and you couldnt control the other 3 brothers, and only Noctis. It was also unusual because there were no female characters who joined your party. it was in every sense of the word a sausage fest.
Forever salty about Cor's role being cut down and them taking Galdio's powerbomb move, but this is still my 3rd fav FF.
the dev process was very long, but they've also created a lot. wonder how they were able (their words) to break even at 5 million copies...
*Pause the video @**3:21** and check left*
I knew that the game had a complicated development cycle but I had no idea it was this messy. It's a miracle the game came out the way it was. I really enjoyed and still playing it to This day.
I feel as if you meant to say Final Fantasy VI was the Star Pendant's first appearance. No worries.
Everyone should have a cup of noodles.
I prefer the edgey 06 noctis, and the way the story would’ve lead down a darker path than 15.
Absolutely man same here and many others Versus is billion times better than what we've got fuck square man
Too many cooks in the kitchen led to how the FFXV story that was all over the place and open world side quests felt like two different games.
Oh so that's why in the updated FFXV you can switch characters (I played the vanilla version and the Updated one)
I've been wanting to know about Prishe from ff11 life..
Perfect timing I just beat the game again
I love final fantasy games
8:56 twenty eleventeen
It's funny that they want from a female character whose name means star (Stella is star in latin) to "Luna" meaning "moon". Although I don't understand why they changed her character completely and didn't just repurpose her like the other characters.
I live ff XV probably just cause it was my first ff but I still love it and its universe
What song is that in the background in this video?
Erasing Stella was the worst thing that could have happened. They should have left her original role or even transformed her into the cousin of Lunafreya and potential enemy like Ravus was at first. Or even as one of the chocobros for later on betray Noctis. :( Not so many people like Luna, I rather preffer Stella or Aera before her. Funny thing, the Usurper was never Ardyn but Luna xDDDD
XV is my favorite Final Fantasy
I don't approve of Luna's tear being removed at all, it adds so much to the beauty of their relationship! Keep in mind i did not actually play the game.I learned that japan as a whole prefers to have people specialize and has a one-path mindset, and yet they also love to add chaos by that same token by changing directors more times than i cared to count. I have no idea what that means tho beyond possibly the fact that this would lead to multiple traces of influences and styles.
I think im nearing the 300 hrs mark so far
ya know even if the development was messy... i could actually follow the story pretty well.
sucks the game will forever remain incomplete.
We need a second game in that universe/setting.
FFXV aka the FF game with 15,000,000 directors
Where is the removal of big train station at beginning of chapter 10?
If the FFVII Remake doesn't become first or second spot.... I won't have faith in humanity anymore.
Why the hell is there a German ad at 0:33 ?
The ending needs to have a photoshop done where Noctis hands Luna the photo, and all that's on it is a list of all the content that got cut from the game leading up to its release.
I loved FFXV, especially before the patches, but when you start to look at those changes, it kinda stings.
Love this game despite its flaws. Only FF8 tops it for me; looking forward to the book release.
oh god i remember the batman voice!!
There actually is a poster of Stella in the crown city of insomnia in royal edition and episode ardyn
The Dark sword is mine.
so who here also knew that Ray Chase loves FF5 and FF8 despite the hate they both received?
I know that because V and VIII are also among my favorites. ^_^ So when he said that in an interview I was like, "Yeah!!!!"
I still enjoy ffxv
I wish monster of the deep was a leggit quest in the actual titlee
I love and hate this game. Some of the acting and exploration of emotions is top tier. The story/world as good as Dark Souls, should be top tier. But, very badly executed - most of the really juicy details buried (badly) in an optional nearly impossible endgame dungeon, and a lot of what's left exclusive to paid DLC. Top that with bad pacing, bad (if visually impressive) combat, bad open world fetch quests, and the whole expanded universe thing that confused and shut out as many people as it excited, they really held back what should be one of the best RPGs out there.
Goddammit my dyslexia made me think this video was 15 facts from final fantasy 7
I was incredibly excited for this game...until I played it. I gave it a good 10 hours, but I just couldn't get into it. I've listened to the OST countless times, though.
Great info, though! Very interesting stuff.
Did you say it had 6 actors contribute to luna, blah blah jenny blah blah and then jenny again?
Yes. She was used for motion capture and likeness, but there sre still 5 other girls
When you you put the title like you did it makes sense cuz 15-2 is 13...FFXV-II
