If nothing else, my favorite part about the new format is seeing the screen shots of the pictures you're talking about instead of trying to guess while looking at the web page. Thanks again for another great episode!
YES!!!
I always ask myself why they just dont add Set bonus for armor types
Like full set of Fire Proc armor = Better vision in Lava,
or
Full set of Projectlile Proc armor = less random Arrow shots
It is easier to understand and helps in situation this armor is usefull and bring something new to the table
25:18 keeping track of all the mobs in the game that you've successfully maced until you've checked off every single one... Call that a bonk-it list :D
Video format is fantastic btw!
Just started watching this on RUclips, which is the app I’m more chronically on, so I’m much more likely to actually see that new episodes have been posted here
Excellent work! Been listening to the podcast since Ep 160, love this format! Love being able to see screenshots and builds!
40:44 the parity thing I think your missing here is that water takeoffs are impossible in bedrock without a riptide trident. If you’re flying long distances and look away for long enough that you land in an ocean, you have to swim your way to land to get back in the air, which can be hundreds of blocks away, if not more.
While this is a great point and especially valuable to keep in mind, I would correct that it's not actually impossible, just *extremely* difficult.
They're actually not impossible. They're just really difficult. If I spam jump and my rockets it times right eventually. It usually takes three or four rapid taps. And I usually end up using two rockets. But it can be done
Oh! Sorry. I didn't realize someone had already replied with this exact thing 😅
am loving this new format of the podcast
Loving the video format
Really awesome to see Joel! I don't know why but he has even more charisma with his face visible! I have a new love for you two
Thanks for the feedback Joel and Pix! Always loving the podcast!
Ever since I started watching your podcast (around the episode 200?) I imagined Jonny to be on the left and Joel on the right. Don't know why. I noticed that during the episode 300 it was the other way around but the way it is in this episode feels more right to me. Again, I can't explain why.
I figured we'd try having the host (whoever does the intro) on the left, so it'd swap week to week. Not sure if we'll keep it that way or just stick to one layout, but it's fun trying out different stuff!
ooooo i'm extra early for this one!

Pix's headphones seem interesting. Does anyone know what they are?
KOSS porta-pros! My partner got a pair of them before I did, and they’re great for warmer months when I don’t want to wear my full over-ear headphones
It's funny because they reverted the changes to the fire resistance / blast protection nerf and buffed them. Now if you have 2 pieces of fire protection 4 armor you won't be able to catch fire. I didn't test how the blast resistance works, but I imagine it's similar.
I would say that fire resistance can be quite useful. I sometimes play on a 1.12 world and we didn't immediately have access to all of the enchantments from villagers, nor grindstones, so I enchanted using a table and got fire resistance 3 on my pants. With the way Elytra works in 1.12, flying can be much more difficult and I have fallen in lava in the nether a few times, in which case the fire resistance has saved me. Also, totems of undying don't provide fire resistance in 1.12, so fire resistance is also more useful because of that. Eventually we got some good villagers set up, and I use one piece of fire resistance 4 and two of protection 4.
Blast resistance is also quite useful for some pvp, although I'm not sure that knockback resistance from explosions is beneficial.
