  • The Hole in the Wall is the Old Hippie equivalent of The Broken Spoke, both Austin Institutions and Landmarks with an intense musical history. I sat at the bar with Willie's tour manager on two different afternoons. That's the kind of place this is.

George, the closest I ever got to Austin is "Austin City Limits" on PBS tv, but your
    videos make it look inviting!.

I was very upset when the managers decided they didn't want to run Hole-in-the-Wall anymore and the place almost went under. I was very glad to see that the place was taken up and stayed the same bar. I still have a sad place in my heart from when they destroyed Liberty Lunch, which was the place where I saw my first concert(The Violent Femmes, a life changing musical experience) at the age of 12.

We lost the Hole In The Wall Saloon, Thermopolis Wy. Tom Skinner`s bar. The actual bar is in the museum. Torn down to build a bank. Once the watering hole for the Wild Bunch. Butch and Sundance.
