My name is Brandon and I am a used car dealer. I created Car Questions Answered to share the ins and outs of the used car market from my perspective. I share with you updates on car prices, what's happening at the dealer auctions, and what it's like being a dealer. My goal is to share information to help you make the best decisions while buying a car to save you money. I do not want car dealers taking advantage of you.

The last new car I bought was a 2000 Mustang. Drove it 17 years and sold it to the young high school boy for $1,500, He checked my oil. air. washed my windows and checked the radiator fluid at the gas station . He always loved that car and was very nice to check it each time I got gas. He was helping that old lady in the hot red Mustang as he sure didn't have to and most gas stations won't do it for you. When I asked him if he wanted to buy it and told him how much he almost cried. It feels good to make people happy and it was his first car too.
I remember when they used to do that as part of their service, now it’s a thing of the past. Love your story!!❤
I ALWAYS give Good Kids a Deal PERIOD. Dumb 18 year old I BT car from a local for $100 they fixed it too. My Dad stayed out it I was TOLD he had it sold for $300.. I Thanked his kids like 300x's during the years a Fine person WW11 vet 8th Air Force..🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

What a blessing you are ❤

An old friend of mine sold cash cars only on his lot and none were over $3500. The guy got rich with this business model. He would always be very transparent on anything wrong with the vehicles and customers appreciated his honesty. He lost his lot due to rezoning. He made enough to retire early. Keep doing what you are doing. You will be very successful like my old friend.
how many years ago was this? 3500 20 yrs ago is not 3500 today
There’s a huge buying market for under $5k. You’re doing a good service for your community. Not everyone wants to go into debt for a car.
That's because not everyone has half a brain in their squash. Going into debt for a depreciating asset makes stupid look smart.
Yes, everyone knows the bank really owns that shiny new car you're driving. They also know you borrowed $6. from your sister to put enough gas in it to get to work today. Just sayin'
I absolutely agree.
I am dealer in Georgia, I have been doing the same exact thing for more than 20 years. He is absolutely correct, the average price of a cash has increased but is still doable. The hardest part is finding them, selling is the easy part. I try to find older cars with really low miles, I only sell 5-10 a month but it's just my son and I with very little over head. I have many customers that bought have multiple cars, I am proud of what I do and get a sense of satisfaction to give someone a good product
What is your location in GA? Do you have a websites or social media sell page?
Where in Georgia are you from? I am from Mississippi!
What's in your inventory now for under $5000. I also want a cheap reliable car. Don't want anything fancy, or is a gas hog, or a "spaceship on wheels". I hear Honda Fit is good for that?
What part of Ga

He's doing so well because he's not trying to charge insane prices like $2000 for a tail light.

Man, times have changed so much within the last few years. $5k back then could’ve gotten you something fairly nice, but nowadays it’s sketch.
I would buy a car from this youtuber but in most cities there's no one nealy as fair as this guy. If you're only a few hundred miles away, it might be worth coming to him
Where is he, I need a car?
Naw', A $5,000 car isn't sketchy, it is just older and higher mileage. Just stay away from deals too good to be true.

He is in the Charlotte NC area, but he has never disclosed his location, because he wanted this channel to help people, not for him to sell cars.
You're about to sweat out other dealers in the area with this dollar tree type move. Money is getting tighter and ppl are tired of getting gouged left and right; especially for used cars. You're a lifeline to certain ppl right now looking to get mobile for a decent price. Good shit man
Im almost 40, all the cars I ever bought was ALWAYS Craigslist, face to face from people. For just simple cash. ALWAYS avoided dealers for the exact reasons you mentioned. Glad ure 1 good one out there.
What advice would you give to a female that wants to do this but doesn’t have a mechanic on hand to inspect the car I’m interested in?
@@t.terrell7037Meet at a reputable mechanic shop so they can check it out before purchase. If the seller has a problem with doing this then don’t buy it.

I chased the shiny car lure for 2/3 of my life. Now I have driven the same Jeep for 10 years and will hopefully never buy another. Not having car payments is a great feeling. Buy cheap, pay cash, and don't skimp on maintenance.
So psyched to see this- I’m picking up my ‘21 Trailblazer tomorrow morning and intending for it to be my forever 🚙😌

It is very rare to see a actual honest car sales man these days.
Brandon is just a good ole country boy
Don't get it twisted there is no honest sales man.
He has a shelf filled with transmission anti-slip and bottles of head gasket sealer. Then precedes to tell us they don't work. Then why is the Shelf full of them?
yep i looked at a car that ended up having an oil leak the the dealer tried to tell me its not an oil leak if theres not a puddle sitting under the car when you move it .....
@denniscosban6145 because they work temporary, after he sells cars it's no his problem no more
Wow! So impressed with the complete transparency provided. You definitely will not get this at any other car dealership. Amazing to see $0 doc fees. No hidden fees/ costs. You deserve to be successful when you treat customers so well.
This is the only car salesman I’ve ever seen who I actually like. You’re doing great work man
Oh you are making my day. 5K and under means that I have more opportunities to drive different things while I still can, now that I am retired. Thanks man
You're a hero for selling cars to people who desperately need a car but can't afford to go into debt. Single mothers, students, and just your average wage slave. Half of the country can't afford a $400 emergency. Cars last a lot longer than they used to but many are quick to discard them for the flashiest, newest truck. I have noticed that most of the private lots have closed. Dealers are only interested in late model trades.
Single mothers 😂
He's just flipping junk cars from auction. Degreases the engine bay so they look clean, puts in some additives to stop the leaks and smoke so that they pass the test drive and then they probably break down on the way home or by the end of the week.
@@ticenits1926 I suppose that if that is what he was doing, that information would get out and the business would fail. There are millions of cars that have plenty of life in them but little demand because they are older, less stylish cars. Maybe the paint is faded or have a couple of dents or scratches. For the right price, there is a market for these cars. He's found a niche market that few sellers want. He's laid it out, less than $500 net for each car. He deserves that and more for the hassle of shopping the auctions, changing the registration, preparing and selling the car.
@@rst90274Disagree on demand. There is a LOT of demand for older used cars in good running condition. It’s just so much harder to find a decent cheap car that’s well maintained and not completely rusted out.
@@rst90274 those millions of cars being traded in are done so for a reason; they're clapped out and the owners are trying to get rid of them because maintenance is costing as much as a new car payment. He's not making 500 net per car, he's making double his money on each one. It just takes 1 day to shop at auction. They wander around looking for something to fill the gap in their inventory like sedans vs SUV's, pop the hood and make sure it still has an engine, turn it over if they're lucky and then tow it back home for some grease monkey in the back shop who works by himself to try and get them all drivable by the end of the week. Never buy a cheap used car from a dealer, especially a dealer who's parking lot is made of dirt.
Ask my 17 yr old Son what's the best kind of vehicle, without hesitation his answer "PAID FOR". Dude you rock I wish you all the best! God Bless and may God Bless America!!
Great content. I purchased a 2001 Mazda MPV for $2,000.00 it had around 137,000 miles it's my daily driver. The dealer says I should get around 300,000 on the motor. I currently have 207,000 on the motor. Never have had anything go wrong with it. I keep it well serviced. The only thing that I have had to fix was the window motor on the drivers side. I also spent $1,200.00 on the paint job. Nothing else. I realize it's not a cool car. But, I'm cool! It does what it was created to do. People loose their identity to a vehicle. " YOU ARE NOT YOUR VEHICLE"! You are a separate, the vehicle is created for you, not you created for it! People pay more for vehicles than they do for things like Health, family and home! It's okay if that's what they want to do. But for us I like to put my money to work for me in places where I can see a return. I also have inherited MOMS 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis, so I don't ever plan to purchase another vehicle in the near future.
I do not want backup cameras, navigation display, PC screen, etc., etc. I just desire getting from point A to point B. Heat and AC are OK.

I love my $5k 06 Camry. I wrecked my nice 2016 Laramie and when my ins totaled it I went for a cheap go-getter, and can't be mad at the interim results. Thanks for providing folks with this option.
I’ve been working in car dealerships since 1991 and I will agree with what you say about their methods of operation. I remember my uncle back in the late 50s had a lot like you have now. He loved it, made enough money and satisfied the need of many good people who can’t afford these normal car dealerships. Good job man, keep it going.
You are arguably THE MOST honest dealer, new or used, in the country. It's been a joy watching these videos.
Because every dealer has a RUclips channel
I wish there were more like him.
Over the years I bought many many cars from private dealers who operated same as you. I got great affordable cars. My driveway would be cluttered with them. Only sold them to clear the way for more. My last dealer retired for medical reasons. He was a super mechanic also. Keep up this righteous life's mission!
Bowling alley seating in the office is perfect! Your $5K and under dealership shows value to the consumer and they know it's a good deal, especially given the crazy car prices today. Very refreshing to see a dealer who knows what most people need.
Deeply appreciate your work and how you make cars affordable to the consumers. Not many used cars dealer's do what you do and that makes you a great person. Keep doing it right 👍
I like this concept cash, under 5K, no BS. I remember a used car lot in Detroit where a guy can buy a junker to take hunting or drive back and forth to their factory job without worrying about having their vehicles scratched, wrecked or stolen.
Beater cars. The kind you put the bumper sticker on that says, "Don't laugh. My other car is a Lamborghini", or pick your favorite! I drive one to work every day, and I have complete peace of mind about its security...the driveline is dead-reliable, but the exterior looks like the 7th level of Hell, but I keep all important functions working. Meanwhile the new vehicles I see at work get dinged, bent, scratched, broken into, and their owners look depressed as they pay their very large payments.
The closer in to a city center that you work, the more you need beaters.
@@k.b.tidwell Buy a Chinese tig machine and learn HLVP and you can fix the exterior for cheap too lol

A lot of dealers won’t post their prices for the vehicles on their websites either, it’s a lot of call for price, definitely another point that separates you from other dealers

I am in Georgia! I would like to come to your lot, where are you and what is the website
This is why we've bought from Hertz the last 2 cars. They have the same sales model as you.
They have newer more expensive cars but both times my husband and I walked in test drove the car we were interested in. Then wrote a check and left with our car. There was no haggling. It's awesome! If we lived in NC we'd definitely look at your vehicles. We don't care what we drive. It just has to move my family and our stuff and be reliable. That's all we ask.
I love the fact that you see that.
The world needs more businessmen like you!!!

MORE POWER TO YOU! Dealer here with 25 years of experience. I've tried all different business models over the years. BHPH, Special Finance, highline and the Cheap/Cash junk like you sell now. You almost have to shift with the economy actually and keep pace with demand. However, I'm shocked that you can find these cars cheap enough in your area to sell them under 5k. In my area....no dice! They're pushing 200k+ mileage cars through lanes with bad engines and transmissions and still demanding several K's for them. Volume is key in your market.....BUT, what I've found when I did this business model is that the recon costs were significantly higher and time consuming....so I shifted to mid-range cars. WE ALL KNOW.....that no matter HOW CHEAP a junker is.....customers believe they should all be PERFECT and ISSUE fREE and LAST FOREVER regardless of price....LOL. These entitled dreamers are all looking for that HOLY GRAIL car with Low miles, NO issues, ONE OWNER, New Tires and Clean Carfax.....and one that NEVER breaks down or it's YOUR FAULT...lol!!! Customers in NC must be a special breed different than my clients....If the mileage starts with the number "2"....they walk away on my lot. You must be selling super high mileage cars with tons of issues....hidden or not! I know cars and build custom cars on the side and there is NO such thing as a Good, Cheap car. Period. Overall...glad to hear someone is making it right now....business is tough and customers love to see dealers fail for some, smooth-brain reason!!! Good Luck!
Massive kudos to you and your team for doing all of this. I would have absolutely gone to you last year had I known about your lot (and wasn't on the other side of the country). I hope this video inspires others to follow in your footsteps and helps others just get something reliable.

i been saying it for years.a crashing economy is your best friend.especially now repo's are at an all time high.people still need to get to work cheaply.pretty cool to see you on ray & zach today also.
crashing economy would be falling prices.. then when fac fail and stuff gets hard to find price would go up. not trying to argue just seeing ppl say this when reality is different
@@cob19234 Not with stagflation.
No, unfortunately. That would hurt him as well, just like everybody lol. A crashing economy would mean less people to buy cars period, and two, would increase the demand and thus the price for these cheaper lower end used vehicles (thus reducing the profit a dealer could get/sell them for... which he said Himself in this video). So, it'll 1) make cheaper cars harder to find and/or buy and 2) reduce a dealer's profitability.... meaning lower volume/sales numbers as well as lower profitability per vehicle sold (in addition to just the depressed economy/people as a whole, reducing the market size)
It isn't crashing. People are making tons of money on realestate and the stock market.
@@rotart12arx3 oh so just rich people getting richer? tell us something new already. Appreciated. :>

Hi Brandon, When I see that big sign at a car dealership that reads "CERTIFIED USED CARS," I have to laugh. Many people believe it means the dealership has thoroughly inspected the cars and made any needed repairs. That sign means that all the vehicles on the used car lot are certified as being used. That's a big difference!
“Transparency” you have my Respect.
You deserve so much success, you’re solving all the headache of buying a car. Also you’re not just posting prices on cars, but you’re not posting XX99 prices, that seems little but you remove that slight disappointment we all get on a 2nd read when you realize the price is actually in the next hundred or thousand. Really cool and respectful move.
Hello Brandon. I can't express enough just how valuable and important you are in your approach and business model as a car dealer. Car buyers NEED what you are doing now more than ever. Making customers happy and satisfied is the best thing a car dealer can do. You literally earn lifetime customers doing the great thing that you are doing....
Out Here in CA......there are a TON of guys doing that. They buy them pretty cheap with an engine light on. fix the problem. and resell it for 500 to 1000 profit. That is it.
I do this. Get them smogged in palmdale for $100, even if you delete the light on the reader you still get screwed as you know, could be anything for a failure. 4 lightly used matching new tires, oil change, recharge the a/c, make sure it's safe and reliable and keep it moving. $600 at auction, sell for 2k. CA makes it impossible for working people to buy a legal vehicle but I keep my prices low where I make enough of a profit to keep it moving but affordable for the working class to not get ticketed and towed and harassed.
This is fantastic. Many people have always disliked the fact that for some reason buying a vehicle from a dealer isn't just like buying a TV or some other retail item where the price you see, before tax, is what you pay. I really appreciate your business model and wish you many more successful years in business.
North Carolina folks are lucky to have you guys around. I don't have such luxury in my vicinity, so I buy my cars on my own risk and fix them (I am not a mechanic, but I can use a wrench or two), so far so good, spent $4000 total in car pay (repairs not included) in last 8 years. It's very impressive we can still find "surviving" work horses of the previous generations, god bless engineers who designed and built those, mostly Toyota and Honda, but Ford did well too at the time, Lincoln aswell, Subaru maybe...
I have a 20 year old Subaru Outback with 170k miles on it. Still runs perfectly and haven't had any issues at all, other than regular maintenance (brakes, tires, oil, etc). Maybe I got lucky..
You are a genius giving people what they want for a reasonable price and making a nice profit in return now that's a win-win situation right there I hope you open a lot of in New York City if you do I will be the first customer there a big shout-out from the NYC
Thumbs up to you for revealing so much of your business and its history, along with understanding how to better manage an auto sales business to make money without screwing your customers
I've always bought cars in this price range. I haven't had any regrets.
Me too but then I got an S class 04 for 4300 and their air suspension on it alone was 5k...but I love this cae
How do you find them if you hypothetically don’t know anything about cars? Most mechanics can’t stop what they are doing to go and inspect a car if I find one I like. 😢
It takes a gentleman who cares about others to go out and sell and collect less then most others, knowing he is helping the community as a whole. The fact that your mechanic is on it and ensuring the cars will not be lemons and if maintained will be a great investment is another great thing. If I could, I'd buy from you, but being in Vancouver Canada I still can send you thanks and continued success!
Keep the way you are and beautiful things will happen, you are one of the few channels I trust about buying a Vehicle. Thank for the great videos👍🙏
Love the like 1990's cable access TV show talking to a local car dealer vibes (but with much better camera quality) of this video.
It Proves you can make a living not ripping people off! Well done sir
Makes a lot of sense to me. I've only owned 2 vehicles and I bought each of them based on terms of reliability and affordability, and whether or not they were suitable for my needs. High volume low margin sales seem stressful, but you seem like you're making it easier for people who may just be starting out or have lost everything and they are starting to rebuild. Major props for that. Good luck in your endeavours.
I would never use the word "cheap!" I would use either the word "affordable" or, (and this is my favorite,) "inexpensive!" Either way, you have indeed found a niche and I wish you all the best!
Picked up a couple sedans to flip recently (mechanic by trade) cleaned them up nice, minor mechanical repairs to make them safe and legal and posted them. It was like pulling teeth to get $3k for clean title smogged cars ready to go. Can't imagine doing it regularly.
It can be. I do the same thing in my area. 3 to 5 cars a year. I try to make $500, $1500 if I'm doing heavy line repairs. I usually make sure everything works and is safe, clean it real good and see what happens. People come and tire kick and want to pay less than I picked it up for before repairs. I usually price at KBB private party middle of the road and people try to cut that in half. Never lost money, but have had to let two cars go for what I had into them.
its sad that people try to take something already so cheap and try to basically steal it from you.
The only difference is he is set up commercially to do it, he's clearly sunk tons of time, effort, and money so that he doesn't deal with the marketplace treatment. He created quite literally his own marketplace which in of itself is genius

Nice video Brandon. What you offer to your community is priceless. May your and your family be blessed abundantly 👊
Great video. I have been chatting with my son who is thinking about starting a small used car lot. Very insightful. Thanks
Your a blessing to many people providing affordable and reliable transportation and good sound advice.
I'm going to make it a priority to visit you, from St Louis, and say your honesty is what will always get my business.
Thank you for what you do, Brandon. Everyone knows where to go and that you have affordable cars at reasonable prices.
@ 5k your still making 20% profit of $1000 so keep doing what you know works for you. I liked seeing you earlier today with Zack.
The $1000 goes to the business - salaries, rent, accounting, taxes, utilities, transport of the cars, detailing etc, etc.
I think he mentioned he gets around $400-$500 in his pocket.
@@boyantrifonov I know what the profit goes for, I am just encouraging him to do what works for him.
You're absolutely right. I hate car dealers. It is never a good experience. Your business model is a breath of fresh air.
Great video, Brandon...so glad you have gotten to the next level of your business on the ground and in the TUBE, too...next you need to introduce your entire staff; Yes, that means Mrs. CQA as well! 😁
Finally! A Brandon we can trust! Congratulations on your Utube success! You treat customers like you would like to be treated!
What a novel concept!
Not just trust, this Brandon can finish a sentence and remember back past this morning.
Awesome! It’s about time to straighten the buying car process! If it’s transparent and easy like buying a bottle of coke, I think many consumers will buy and sell more frequently. The market will have lots of movement!
Love your business model, honesty and integrity. All the best to you and your business.
You are the goat. Bought a 05 Town Car for 2k and has been the biggest money saver not having a car payment
Inflation strikes. You can't work for free. Great content!
So happy to see you're going hard for it recently! The timing is perfect for low margin / high volume dealers. Side note, luxury real estate / yacht channel music over Alex opening hoods and 2500$ price tag b-roll is hilarious. I don't know if that clash was intentional, but it's magical.
what a great guy you are! I know that's a lot of work for you. God bless you and your family.
Brandon understands the new way of doing business. Building a relationship with your customers so that you have repeat business. You do it by not being shady, offering compelling value, being efficient, knowing your market and other skills that will position the business the grow like a weed.
God bless this man
