I wish I had found your video before installing an actuator on my 01 dodge ram. I ordered a new one from ebay, and installed it, only to have the same problem as you. I couldnt get the door to open from the outside. I never even noticed that allen key adjustment. So I took it back off, and contacted the seller for a replacement, As I could see this one wasnt going to work. Well they sent me a email saying they sent me a replacement. And I was looking at youtube, and up comes this video! I had looked at previous videos about changing this out, but none of them mention that adjustment. Anyways, it all works great now, after the adjusment. Thanks for posting this video and mentioning that. I would of got another one, and probably had the same issue. Take care!
No problem. I'm glad it helped you out. That's why I do it. Sometimes the smallest detail is the most important to someone out there. Thanks for the comment.
Mine wouldn't open from the outside either, thanks. My problem now is when I use the power lock, one door locks and the other unlocks. Any solution/suggestion?
Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I just saw this. Well it sounds like the wires on one of them are reversed. If you look at the part of the video where I test the actuator, you can see that if you hook them up one way it locks it and if you reverse connection it unlocks it. Good luck. Thanks for watching
Cool video, my problem is the passenger side door does not lock. 98 ram 2 door, the window button works and the lock button does not work the lock. So is there one of these Actuator on both doors? Thanks, oh yeah I forgot to ask how did you do this task without any fussing and cussing.
Yes. There is one on each door. And it has to be one for the passenger side. Don't get one for a drivers side because it won't fit. I edit out all the cussing before I post the video. 😁 This wasn't too hard to do though. Thanks. Good luck
Thanks so much man! Literally couldn't have done it without you! 😂
You're welcome. I'm glad it helped. Thanks
All the details! This is the best video I've see on this. Thank You
I appreciate that. Thank you. Hope it helped
