Man I️ honestly can’t thank you enough!!! My actuator kept turning and I️ was that plastic piece broken. I️ ended up cutting the rubber on the floor board under that back screw and had plenty of room instead of removing the dash👍
Daniel Bianchi did you put the actuator back in or did you just move it Manually? Mines got the same thing i see it turning and skipping that plastic piece is probably split broken Reason why i ask did it on a semi once and apparently if you dont put the actuator back in it all falls apart behind and you cant even control it manually after the screws where they mount the actuator hold moving piece behind on that freightliner i drove
This Paul Smith I have a 2000 Dodge ram 1500 pickup. My blower motor won't work. The fuse box was the fuse was messed up in the box and you could wait till the fuse and it would come on but now it won't do that. It's done my relay or in my fuse box because my relay don't have but one hotspot
Thank you very much for the video, the main vacuum supply line for mine was just gone so i never knew where to connect my new hose once i got it. i just spliced in the new hose and now my vents work
Thanks for the video, I've got the 5.2 gas and I have a wire hooked to the actuator right above the gas pedal. Going to follow the lines and try to get it back to the switch. Keep the videos of small info coming
mxsx199 just keep in mind that if your system is the same as shown in the video, you have a colored vacuum line attached to your actuator not an electrical wire. They all meet below and slightly to the right of the steering column. Let me know if I can help
Joshua Hughes I have traced them to the steering column but don't know where to go from there, the vacuum line by the fire wall is completely gone. I know that's the one I need but don't know where to tap in
Nice. didn't even of thinking of manually creating a control. Un/fortunately I am removing the dash to repair it, so can replace the ac parts fairly easily now.
thats what im talkn bout..thanks for the video.. i like to bypass all these britle systems on these old dodges ... i think the only thing your missing is a ball valve to bypass the heater core .. i shut it in in the summer or atleast pinch it closed.. thanks for the video. .. subscribed...
Please don't take this the wrong way. Your information is fantastic and very helpful to all that need it. However, get someone to hold the camera so everyone can see what you are doing. Thanks for making the very informative video, as you cover all the pattern failures with these vehicles.
The actuator turning but not changing the blend door is cuz there is a plastic sleeve between the actuator motor and the shaft for the door. You can replace it they sell a metal one at heatertreator.cpm
My hot cold door cable detached it's self... I used a small cheap pair of needle nose vise grips to hold it to hot side open for the winter and take them off in the spring
Have you actually cut into that plenum before and jammed the blend door open or shut? Cold fronts moving in and my blender tab just keeps spinning i was hoping to just manually shut it for heat and leave it there until summer when it’s decent enough outside to fix everything. I read something that said the heater radiator or something was right there i don’t want to cut into it without knowing if I’m alright.
About to trouble shoot my 2001. Found the low pressure cutoff switch was bad and the AC low side pressure was low. Charged generically now and might try cleaning the low pressure switch before I install the new one I just invested in. However, was noticing the line coming out of the condenser was frosting over correct and I only had a ~10°F drop in the vent. Wondering if the AC Heater Blend Door Actuator is bad or will have to do some bracketry work. Next to do like you noted after I read into some more. Thanks for sharing!
I get decent airflow from my vents next to the doors. the vents in the center are very poor flowing. do they have their own mode door? I have noticed I always have some amount of airflow coming from the defrost and the floor vents. I believe those not being sealed off is wasting some of my airflow
Hey, I've got a blower motor that don't want to come on because the fuse was messed up. You could wiggle the fuse and it would come on but now it won't even come on that way. So is it done by relay or is it in my fuse box?
That door is supposed to be open or close to run max ac ? my truck is 2002 2gen men and i put the climate at 4 speed and it doesn’t blow enough air , i can hear the blower like crazy 300 horsepower and not enough in the vent
hmmmm…..my 98 2500 doesn't have an electronic actuator motor down at the bottom of the hvac box. is there any other vacuum circuits that would control the blend door and might account for No heat? When I turn the temp selector from all the way hot to all the way cold I can feel the blend door slapping back and forth. all my vents seem to blow when they should and where they should with movement of the mode control but the heat is only luke warm at best. flushed the heater core a couple years ago. any ideas?
Mine is doing the same on a 1997 ram .it looks different I plan to see about opening it up tomorrow..I pulled the glove box but not much lock there the other vent door inside was working.
So my g.f is a 1997 2wd 318 auto. And it doesn't throw heat I dont believe that little door inside is not opening. And I cant get at it like yours it looks totally different cant even see the price that turns the door to tell if its turning or not any one ever done one of these it also has an air bag on the floor there can I remove it 2x screws and what a plug or no....???
I have a 99 ram 1500 and a/c only shoots out defrost vents. usually when i go abot 45mph or higher. im no mechanic but think its the vacuum line that comes from the intake manifold. is there s step by step vid on how to do the actual fix please note im a beginner.
I have a 1995 Dodge Ram and the problem I have is that when I floor it or accelerate hard I hear like a door move and it stop sending a/c air true the vents and it goes to the windshield vents for defrost and went I stop the acceleration the a/c air goes back to the front vents this happens every time I accelerate hard have anyone have or had this problem please comment
Blend door on your truck is cable driven. This video shows the electric door which came in late 98. Do a search on adjusting the cable. Also, with the truck off (so you can hear) quickly turn the temp knob from hot to cold, you should hear it slam shut on both sides. If not, that's your problem.
This is somewhat similar to my problem when on defrost it’s fine till I go faster than 65 then it switches to the floor. Slow down and it goes back to defrost. What is the plenum intake gasket? The intake manifold gasket?
It's a fix but I don't understand putting effort into fixing it wrong rather than fixing it correctly. Cutting the vacuum lines and screwing wood screws not the doors, is only making the problem worse, just take the the extra time and fix it right rather than lowering the value of the vehicle by destroying parts.
Is there a more detailed video or guide for cutting the hole near the glove box and using the screw for moving the door? I'm just trying to see the right place to cut.
My door for defrost, floor, vent, when set on defrost works but if I go faster than 65 sometimes it just switches to the floor. Drop the speed and it switches back to the defrost 🤦🏻♂️
I recently purchased a used Ram. Since then I see nothing but videos with all the Crap wrong with Dodge. They even have the worst Dash and bezels on the planet. Kinda surprised Chrysler is still in business.
That was too much work ..soo here is a screw and and a string zip tie and duct tape.getto fix ..when the brakes quit cut a hole in the floor and dig your heels in...tie a rope around an anchor for a e brake fix.
I really like how you basically explained most of the system. Good idea for a video!
Thank you so much for this video. I put a screw and a string on the door for the floor vent and now my vents work. Awesome video man!!!!
It's an older one but brand new for me. Very well done and a great help for my 2002 2500 gas Ram. Tip of the hat to you.
Man I️ honestly can’t thank you enough!!! My actuator kept turning and I️ was that plastic piece broken. I️ ended up cutting the rubber on the floor board under that back screw and had plenty of room instead of removing the dash👍

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I WAS STRUGGLING WITH MY A/C ISSUE FROM FLOOR ONLY NEVER KNEW THERE WAS AN ACTUATOR ON THR VERY BOTTOM!
Thanks for the heads up I've been fighting with my hot cold door for awhile now I can fix it
Thank you very much for the video, the main vacuum supply line for mine was just gone so i never knew where to connect my new hose once i got it. i just spliced in the new hose and now my vents work
RubaTonk awesome to hear!
This is very informative and made fairly well.
Thanks for the video, I've got the 5.2 gas and I have a wire hooked to the actuator right above the gas pedal. Going to follow the lines and try to get it back to the switch. Keep the videos of small info coming

THANKS YOUR VIDEO MADE REPAIR OF DEFROST ONLY FIX …….WE FIXED IT IN 30 MINUTES AND 20.00 ...THANKS AGAIN RLS ….
Good Job Joshua! Did I want to rip my whole dash out to fix a minor issue ? Umm NO ! Thanks again!
thats what im talkn bout..thanks for the video.. i like to bypass all these britle systems on these old dodges ... i think the only thing your missing is a ball valve to bypass the heater core .. i shut it in in the summer or atleast pinch it closed.. thanks for the video. .. subscribed...

I saw it all.
Great informational video. Thanks
The fan motor speed is called a blower motor resistor.
Great video, thank you.
Excellent commentary.
My husband loves ur grill on the truck!
Great video thank you so much
Not accurate for 94 - 97, and some early 98's. Great video, great instructions for folks with this problem tho.

Shit yeah this’ll give me some headway into figuring all my issues out!
Cut a hole where for blend door? I couldn’t really see if u meant that general area or a specific spot. Can I hit the door if I get the wrong spot
I get decent airflow from my vents next to the doors. the vents in the center are very poor flowing. do they have their own mode door? I have noticed I always have some amount of airflow coming from the defrost and the floor vents. I believe those not being sealed off is wasting some of my airflow

Like and subscribed, 2000, 2500 here, thanks, Dave. How do you know all these fixes?
Does this cause hot air to come out vents or wherever all the time? No matter where I turn the heat cool knob, it's really hot air, thanks
That door is supposed to be open or close to run max ac ? my truck is 2002 2gen men and i put the climate at 4 speed and it doesn’t blow enough air , i can hear the blower like crazy 300 horsepower and not enough in the vent
Where did you get the dash pieces

Helpful, thank you
Ive got more lift by about 4" but we have the exact same rims and tires 😂👌🏽
Nooo!!! Look up Heater Treater. Fixed my blend door actuator. I believe Matt Payne has a video on RUclips. Check it out
How did you remove your floor vent. You said you ripped it off
I suspect when he ripped it off, that was what damaged the anchor point for that actuator.

How is your dash not broke???

Mine just started doing this at 110k miles, same year truck. It's 110 degrees here in AZ and could use some AC, lol.
Same problem in my 98 ram 2500, found a leak in vacuum line under the hood, fix it , now back in business
kinda guy if head gasket blew he'd just add oil and water and keep going. FIX IT WRIGHT
lol that was funny!!!!!!!!!!!!
How i fix when i hit the brakes some blend door thuds then blows hot turn a/c off back on blows cold again
Did u ever fix the problem and if u did what was it
I have a 1995 Dodge Ram and the problem I have is that when I floor it or accelerate hard I hear like a door move and it stop sending a/c air true the vents and it goes to the windshield vents for defrost and went I stop the acceleration the a/c air goes back to the front vents this happens every time I accelerate hard have anyone have or had this problem please comment

Check out vaccum accumulator and check valve fixes on RUclips. Other manufacturers have same issue.
So it’s superseded to turn in between hot and cold but if it turns it’s striped that makes no sense
My problem is when accelerating it flips to defrost then back when I level out the rpms.
Trucks probably loosing vacuum from plenum intake gasket leak that was my problem 🤙🏻
@@kp__truckin that was the problem. Took me a week or so to figure it out 😂

Hey man whats your rim and tire size?
ian olvera those are BFG 35x12.5r16 and if your anywhere near Pittsburgh I’m up for trading to a smaller size. They are not great for snow plowing
Is there a more detailed video or guide for cutting the hole near the glove box and using the screw for moving the door? I'm just trying to see the right place to cut.
You can jam a bit drive with a small line wrench. Tight fit but works. Better if you have a small ratcheting hex wrench.
My door for defrost, floor, vent, when set on defrost works but if I go faster than 65 sometimes it just switches to the floor. Drop the speed and it switches back to the defrost 🤦🏻♂️
check the vac lines you have a minor blockage
Sold the truck chevy all the way
hack !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Must be getting lucky had mine for 19 years have not had no problems
Shit didn't work for me. I have a issue that it doesn't blow much out of passenger side and comes out defrost
Did u ever figure out the problem where it dosent blow much out of passenger side? I'm having the same problem right now.
I recently purchased a used Ram. Since then I see nothing but videos with all the Crap wrong with Dodge. They even have the worst Dash and bezels on the planet. Kinda surprised Chrysler is still in business.
fuckthekkklintons your trucks also probably early 2000s bud so don’t go acting like it should have 5,000 miles and no flaws lmao
@@anonymousrydr8399 no one said it shouldn't have issue. But almost all Dodge trucks have all the same issue. Move on. PATRICK..
