- Prop master Dough Harlocker and director Denis Villeneuve have collaborated with cinema’s time-honored watchmaker Hamilton for Dune’s second installment, Dune: Part 2 teaming up to fashion two limited edition watches inspired by the the 'Desert Watch' prop worn by Paul Atreides in the film. In this hands-on review made possible by our friends at Hamilton, we take a close look at the Hamilton Ventura XXL and Ventura Edge Dune Limited Editions to see how they compare to Hamilton’s pantheon of impressive cinematic collaborations that span back to 1932.

Nice. I'm sure there will be homage of this in Aliexpress soon.
Ugly as these two watches are, perhaps will it be on Wish or on Temu rather thanks on AliExpress. 😅
@@user-ke6xt1yl1lyou realize its the same chinese garbage whether you get it on wish, temu or aliexpress?
The digital one isnt ugly tbh 😅
fremen dont use digital tech@@dhruviin
@@Cortesevasive okay thats true!
Great review, well done.
Great review, nice watches but the price too high, sad it’s made for collectors…
Seriously tempted to get the edge
Should’ve put that blue in a black PSR and called it a day.
Wonder if they’re left handed people compatible
I have tried Edge a few days ago, I have a thin wrist and surprisingly the watch looked great, not bulky, not presumptuous, it was different but somehow it looked balanced. I really wished I could afford this watch but I just couldn’t justify paying so much for so little in return. I think term luxury is the pivot point here, if I was a watch collector spending tens of thousands dollars every year for watches this could have been a buy. However for a guy who loves the movies, loves everything scifi and who could afford one watch for a period of ten years, it is too much.
Inclusion of a compass, dual time zones, humidity or other functions would make this watch much more attractive but I feel like I would have paid a thousand dollars just for licensing fees.
Nevertheless, I could say I have worn this watch once ( for two minutes) and it was a great experience.
easy roo wait for the copy=high price $ -no problem...
Hamilton: "Lets recycle one of our old designs and put some fancy blue lights on the dial. We call it a Dune watch, even though it doesn't feature in the movie at all. And presto. Instand cash grab !"
Everyone hating simply doesn’t want to drop a bag on it. Serious quality in these pieces. You guys are tripping hard!
50m WR, Quartz movement and no premium materials for the price that it has? This comment has to be a joke, right?
These things cost 3USD to manufacture lol
@@iamjogun I mean but come on guys Hamilton is a SOLID manufacturer of quality watches or at least I was under the impression they were. And it just seems like there’s no other time piece especially within the Ventura’s they’re just addicting to look at and I’m sure that Dune blue just pops when you light it up with sapphire crystal and precise marker hits. I think it’s a banger. I think the price is very high. A little out of my price range. But I appreciate the piece a lot. A lot of quartz movements on the higher end can fetch a hefty price too. But I think $900-$1000 would be fair. I’d try to save up if it were like that. But I’m just here to gawk at pretty watches guys.
@@Maudib99the price probably reflects the quantity they manufacture, this is a niche watch anyways so Hamilton won’t dedicate hundreds of lines to make it
Quality for a $800- piece. And maybe $1000- if it was an original design that actually was in the movie. This feels like a quick cashgrab.
Love Dune & love Hamilton but I’ll pass…
So basically nice looking watch, but not worth the price. Seems reasonable to avoid then. I love unique and futuristic style watches, but im not impressed by the quality tbh. I like the digital time unit way better, maybe i can grab it for cheap sometime. But that price is no no.
You should learn to use you lights...
Ummmm I loved when I first saw it but after a couple of nights of sleep, I cannot quite make up my mind. It is 3750 dollars in Australia for digital one. I can see many people are initially interested but because of price they are not selling as much.... I could buy a nice Swiss mechanical watch with that money...
They are not worth my money.
