That is not completely true. A 20 year old man being in a relationship with a 17 year old girl where they both consent to the relationship is to still looked at as illegal in the us. The man can and in many cases has gone to jail for that. In Japan the age of consent is 14, but only in some cases. Some countries a 14 year old girl can get married with parents consent. BaconMan The point of the video, yes, is to be funny. But you do realize that all of these comedy media outlets (College Humor, Buzzfeed, Cracked.com) are liberally biased. Sure, they'll make a video about gay marriage that makes conservatives sound like idiots, but I bet you can't find one of their videos that challenge a liberal viewpoint.
"Till death to us shart!"... proceeds to shart. I can force myself to shart. If I have to be in a room with someone I hate I see it as a tradition, a rite of passage, to shart in their vicinity
Yeah I guess, nowadays I can't be openley against gay marriage without feeling the wrath of society. It's a shame, I can't really have an opinion anymore...
This is where religion comes into play, this world is constantly growing more and more secular, being religious and debating gay rights over the Internet is very difficult because of this, nobody agrees.
If that's how my religion works, then I will most certianly support it, no questions. I am not a curusader so to speak, I just happen to be against gay marriage. You are pro-gay marriage, I have absolutley no problem with that, you support what you want, I support what I want, and there is no problem with that
On one hand I'm disappointed at the relatively high downvote-ratio, on the other hand, I feel like the downvote ratio would not be nearly as high if this video was released today. Progress!
@@franklinbadge1215 Well, you'd be wrong. The rate supporting gay marriage today in the US is 71%. The rate at the time the video was made was 54%. I think you're confusing homophobia with peoples' opinion on gender issues.
A person doesn't have to support gay marriage. It's okay to have an opinion against gays', but I also think that you shouldn't be rude about it either. All you have to say is, "I don't support them because it goes against my beliefs," or, "I have my reasons for not supporting them." Another thing, there are a lot of you who get offended too easily when someone expresses their opinion. Sure, it might be a little, um, unacceptable at times, but you calling them out won't change their views and will just cause a giant mess of an argument on the internet. Oh and one more thing, I'm a lesbian, living in a very conservative state, so it's not like I'm defending "homophobes" or whatever. All I'm saying is that it's not worth snapping at one another Thank you.
Bigots should be made utterly obvious in our lives. This is one of the mechanisms for social change. By shaming bigots into shutting the fuck up, we're able to live in a more progressive society. When racism became distasteful in the eyes of the public at large, people who were truly racist started to keep their views behind closed doors.
Kyra set But not challenging them and acting like their lack of acceptance is completely okay and valid just makes it easier for them to propagate these harmful views. I'm not for censorship, but I do believe we should always be able to oppose bigoted opinions even if they're of a religious nature. And it's not like no one ever changes their mind; if they see the harm that bigotry can do, they might reconsider their past views! Similarly, there's no way I'd stay silent if people were going around saying they just happen to think people of other races are inferior - sure, it's their right, but they need to know that there isn't actually any evidence of this belief and that it is actually harmful to others.
Lollipop is correct, accepting homophobia, regardless as to whether it is outspoken or not, is disgusting. You wouldn't accep someone being against blacks getting married, even if they weren't 'rude about it'. You're just promoting intolerance
You wouldn't make a big deal out of someone ordering a different meal than you at a restaurant, would you? Then why make a big deal out of gay marriage?
***** What if I love a 10 year old girl? That's been accepted throughout history in other cultures. If we both love each other what's the big deal? Especially if her parents approve. Also why should I need her parents approval? The idea of waiting until someone is 18 is crazy. Show me one of animal besides humans who wait for a specific age let alone until they get their parents permission.
its funny how you'll think of random jake and amir quotes throughtout the day, thats part of the reason i love this web show is because theres something funny to quote from anyone of these episodes "that was so much more than a tadpole or a guppy" hahah
You do realize that the only reason people don't support gay marriage is because they are uncomfortable with their own sexual orientation....so chances are, maybe you are gay and embarrassed about it. You shouldn't be, there are people that support you. :)
Right wing, I agree. Do whatever you want. But I’m saying that I feel that that Liberty should be extended to others. I’m for gay marriage as long as we’re not forcing priests or bakers to participate in something that’s against their religion/beliefs/etc.
so you're fine with people doing what they want as long as you can preserve systemic discrimination under the capitalist system which would mean that groups prone to discrimination would be more prone to poverty and would have limited access to services through no fault of their own.
biocode I’m referring to participating in a event that you disagree with. I’m opposed to this occurring in the work place or in something like a mortgage process. Their are also steps in place to attempt to limit or prevent that sort of discrimination. I just don’t see the benefit to saying to a priest or whatever member of a wedding that you have to participate in something that is fundamentally wrong to you. Freedom is very important you should be given that freedom.
Gay guy here (well, technically bi). Where the hell do some people get such a sense of entitlement that they think they can demand that someone else, say a baker, conforms to their ideas. Like, I understand that it can be annoying if someone refuses to bake a gay wedding cake for you, but to actually start demanding it? That's some serious fucking entitlement.

Andy Hayes Only thing I can think of is SJW crap. Maybe conservative viewpoints are anti-reality in general, hm?
Soullessgingerftw1 yup
It's 2023 and the conservative right is still on it 😂
How do I do that without being able to start it up? The only key that does anything is enter, and that shuts the comp down
shots fired
The real question is... Who's on top and who's on bottom?
jake is a verse bottom tho
Christina wil Yeah, that's true
Jakes on top and bottom and amir is crying in the corner
I can't believe it happened. Now we all have to get gay married! Happy gay marriage day.
It said starting automatic repair, but it's pretty slow, went back to blank screen.
im gay
“They’re making people get gay married” Amir sounds like my conservative family members when gay marriage was made legal all across the USA.
loved the video, loved the message and meaning of it, disappointed by the amount of dislikes on the video though.
amir thinking it's so absurd that anyone would be opposed to gay marriage that jake is joking is fucking hilarious jfc
I haven't watched it yet but the title says it all
"Till death to us shart!"... proceeds to shart. I can force myself to shart. If I have to be in a room with someone I hate I see it as a tradition, a rite of passage, to shart in their vicinity
Coming back watching Jake and amir, I have to say one thing
When amir thinks you've done something wrong, you should rethink your existence
Thank you!! I'll be here all week folks
I really want to send this to all the homophobes I know
do we HAVE to support gay marriage?
Yeah I guess, nowadays I can't be openley against gay marriage without feeling the wrath of society. It's a shame, I can't really have an opinion anymore...
Sigh
Well no, I don't agree with you that my opinion is bad. I don't support gay marriage for my own personal reasons.
You are pro-gay marriage, I have absolutley no problem with that, you support what you want, I support what I want, and there is no problem with that
I'M GAYYYYY.
On one hand I'm disappointed at the relatively high downvote-ratio, on the other hand, I feel like the downvote ratio would not be nearly as high if this video was released today. Progress!
I think it might be higher. Queerphobia is making a resurgence.
All you have to say is, "I don't support them because it goes against my beliefs," or, "I have my reasons for not supporting them."
Another thing, there are a lot of you who get offended too easily when someone expresses their opinion.
All I'm saying is that it's not worth snapping at one another
Thank you.
But where can that attitude lead?
"Oh, you're against pedophilia? You bigot!" See what I mean?
Discussion, open discussion, is never bad.
You wouldn't make a big deal out of someone ordering a different meal than you at a restaurant, would you? Then why make a big deal out of gay marriage?
thatasiankid45 Hah! Just a different meal, you say! But if we allow that, what comes next? Eating poison? *Eating other people?!?*
agentlolipop001 There's nothing wrong with two people falling in love, and wanting to spend their lives together.
agentlolipop001 ( Ahhh, okay. Don't mind me, carry on).
Gay people have the same amount of rights as u and me... I'm strait and I can't marry I guy so we are equal lol.
it's not about the right to marry a man or a woman, it's about having the right to marry the person you love
Donald Baker As long as no one gets hurt, no problem
Donald Baker There has to be a line somewhere because children cannot make huge life decisions for themselves. We put the line at 18.
MegaPizzaTimeGames Moron.
its funny how you'll think of random jake and amir quotes throughtout the day, thats part of the reason i love this web show is because theres something funny to quote from anyone of these episodes
"that was so much more than a tadpole or a guppy" hahah
It's Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve
I could not describe to you how little I care.....
aperson lol he never asked for your opinion. im sure he cares even less :)
You do realize that the only reason people don't support gay marriage is because they are uncomfortable with their own sexual orientation....so chances are, maybe you are gay and embarrassed about it. You shouldn't be, there are people that support you. :)
Audie Obrien or maybe I'm married to a female and religous
Why believe this book? Why?
this is a good piece of leftist satire
somewhat interchangeable no? David Gatti
+Ali Bubba they are somewhat interchangable, but you can be a right wing liberal, or an authoritarian leftist
Right wing, I agree. Do whatever you want. But I’m saying that I feel that that Liberty should be extended to others. I’m for gay marriage as long as we’re not forcing priests or bakers to participate in something that’s against their religion/beliefs/etc.
Joel Lopez shut up loser let it go gay marriage is just not an issue it’s 2020 ffs
so you're fine with people doing what they want as long as you can preserve systemic discrimination under the capitalist system which would mean that groups prone to discrimination would be more prone to poverty and would have limited access to services through no fault of their own.
biocode I’m referring to participating in a event that you disagree with.
Pantheus it is legal in every state ggs.
"did you really just forget what an equal sign was"!!
