Forgiveness is the one thing I learned that helped me the most in moving on. It frees your soul from anger and hate. So now I’m able to forgive others immediately, my struggle is with forgiving myself.

This was the most beautiful and convicting talk I think I have ever heard on the subject of forgiveness. The example about how, even if something has been forgiven, there is still a debt that needs to be repaid to cover the damage (as in the example with the car, or the king having to take on the debt of the servant) really made the point clear about why it is so impossible to forgive if we wish to be forgiven. 🙏🏻
This video reminds me of a parable that Jesus Christ taught in the Gospel of Saint Matthew. The unmerciful servant. And why does this parable have an effect on us? Because we’ve sinned and done horrible things to ourselves and to others. Like last month I’ve had a argument with my dad because he was being hardheaded and became a blatant liar and refuses to admit to the truth for his faults. But I also have faults as well because I’ve held a grudge against him and I felt emotionally guilty and I decided to go to the sacrament of reconciliation. And I sincerely hope and pray that my dad will go to the sacrament of reconciliation as well and admit to his faults and failures.
The power of prayer can brring about great things but first you must forgive or pray for the power to forgive
Isn't it funny how little forbearance people have with one another, even amongst Christians. It's like they are so surprised that their brother would offend them that they withhold mercy. Yet when they want/need mercy they readily receive it as if it was expected. It is as if they assume perfection ought to be in their brother but not in themselves. Mene, Tekel, Peres. The Lord hates unjust scales.

Beautiful homily. Is it just me or is it a modern or normal thing to allow children to be so loud during homily. I’m often distracted and can’t hear homily’s because of children yelling or carrying on. Many churches have cry rooms some don’t. Some take their children out some just allow them to misbehave. Guess I’m just getting old. I surely need to be forgiven for allowing squaulling youngins to distract me from Christ messages
