This is one of the things I enjoy about the Joker as a villain. He's the kind of person who would actually employ backing vocals to mock someone if he thought it was entertaining enough, especially given his excessively colorful demeanor versus Batman's stoic noir tones.
I wish in a new or upcoming Batman animated series The Joker would burst into song and sing this. Voiced by Troy Baker. And at one point in the song he takes Batman (who is tied up) up and starts dancing with him.
I could easily the joker capturing batman and busting out into an elaborate production of this song, lights, background dancers, choreography, singing, the whole shebang. and at the end walking up to batman and saying "so, what do you think?". (Could picture it happening in any batman movie or game)
Dunno what's better, the lyrics, the pretty fitting backing theme, or the fact that you genuinely pass well as Hamill's Joker. I think I'll just love it all!
You out of the 2 thousand comments I chose you to send you this warning I *will* make this a play every one will be wearing bat men, and joker outfits they will dance to this song. a joker, and a Bat woman sitting on the side playing the piano with the joker sing while the Bat woman plays on a piano with the color scheme of both split down the middle, and as the song reaches Closer to the end the jokers will leave one by one, and the Batmen and women will kneel on the ground looking as though they lost the most precious being in the world, and then the whole room goes dark, and after a while when the lights are back the dancers and the pianist is gone along with the joker singing, and then a cage marked Batman’s mind all scratched up inside and the joker in the cage says in a somber tone almost crying with his green hair looking as though it was almost pulled out “so bats did you get what you want” and after he sniffles he says “even with me here you still got what you wanted ,your welcome; now you are truly all *alone*” a Batman slowly walks out to the stage from the left, and all he does is stares at the cage visibly gripping a key he takes a step forward, but then he hesitates he turns around pulling his cape with him, and as he’s about to walk off the stage he drops the key into the abyss of his subconscious, and then then the curtains close.
I want this song to appear in Arkham Knight in a Scarecrow fear sequence. Like in a cutscene just have a hallucination of The Joker bursting in song and singing this to Batman while a bunch of crazy shit is happening.
The entire song is pure goodness, but this part: "I'm just trying to show you, just how well I know you. I understand just how you feel: Throw your reason away 'cause you had one bad day. And your mind let go of the wheel! Still, we're fated to battle! You pout and I prattle! Don't you ever tire of this game? But you not make it end, 'cause I'm your only friend! We are opposites, but we're the same!" Really describes their relationship to a T. I can't help but sing-a-long every time.
I can imagine him grinning while waltzing around a dusty room with Jason Todd's corpse while grinning like a sick pyscho. I'm kinda freaked out right now...
I must say, the singer who did the joker's voice in the song really mesmerized the vibes! And also the pizzacto strings in waltz time signature in this song really add the touch of a clown-y presence.
The line that I particularly love is "you'd be lost without me." And it's true. Batman wouldn't be nearly as popular a hero as he is without the Joker. Joker is what really makes The Batman a legend
But in actuality, Joker is the one who would be lost without Batman. He's projecting. If there is one thing the clown prince of crime is afraid of, it's being forgotten. As proven by Arkham Knight.
This song shows the entire relationship between batman and joker. These two cannot survive without the other. The joker won’t kill batman because there is no one who can match wits with him and Batman won’t kill joker because it’d be breaking his code and it would be what joker wanted. “Wanna know something funny. After everything you did, I would’ve saved you” Batman Arkham city
I'm slowly collecting the. Batman &joker deadly Duo they are good if you have not bought them yet and him and Harley are my favorite DC so far. Oh and catwoman
This is EXCELLENT! This is literally something the Joker WOULD sing. It perfectly captures what I feel is THE most complicated/complex hero-&-villain relationships ever created. My hat's off to you! 😃
You get the sense of Joker's delusion for Batman. Where he swears they are meant to be foils... but every time he talks about him, you can hear the fact that what Joker says is the reverse. Joker would be lost without the Bat to define him. He has no existence without the bat. It's a sense of utter delusion where he is trying to convince himself the same in reverse. It's like a stalker trying to say 'you love me, even if you don't know it yet' because their obsession is so profound.
Aquila Honestly, not particularly. In the comic lines, Joker is gone for month and years at a time... and Bats is fine. Simple. He has more than enough on his plate. Meanwhile in story lines where Batman is presumed Dead, Joker is... well, enraged and directionless without him. Surprisingly enough, the newest lego batman trailer kind of sums this up where Joker thinks he is Batman's greatest enemy, and the joke is that Bats calls Superman his greatest enemy, or more so, that he doesn't have one greatest enemy he "likes to fight around". But what Joker IS, is a great foil to batman in terms of the two of them adding more depth to one another from a story stand point. It is very telling about Batman that he is effectively the only hero who can even deal with the Joker, and it is telling that Joker has such an obsession with Batman in return. Interesting stuff. Though story wise, if you want a song for them, try Coheed and Cambria's - Deranged that they made for Arkham City..
Alternate version in honor of Kevin Conroy We are two of a kind You complete my soul and my mind You're the Yin to my Yang yes its true But now that you're gone I'm now all alone I admit, I am lost without you I am lost (He is lost) I am lost (He is lost) Bats please come back, I am lost without you
the best part about this is that Joker is absolutely the kind of character that would sing a completely on-key but yet questionably-purposed song about his archnemesis
Considering the events of Arkham Knight, we really need a sequel with Joker singing how he is lost without Batman. Something: I'm so lost... (he's so lost!) I'm so lost... (he's so lost) Help me Bats! I'm just lost without you!
Well, he does sing a variation of "look who's laughing now" during the credits of Arkham knight. Some lyrics: I'm stuck in his head and not laughing... I'd be better off dead, And I'm not laughing. No ones laughing now...
Maybe in like a side mission with scarecrow he makes a very powerful fear toxin that works just long enough for joker to sing this song with like a spider man far from home illusion sequence
You know, considering the lyrics of the joker saying "you'd be lost without me" he actually is right. Because batman has a (hope I'm remembering this right) hero complex, where since he wasn't able to help his parents he has a subconscious need to help others, so really without the joker and other villains he wouldn't need to save anyone and therefore satisfy that need
You could look at it two ways really. Those who have a Hero Complex/Hero Syndrome often set things up so that they can be the hero, like setting an apartment on fire so they can save the people inside. Now, as far as I know, Batman never goes out of his way to create a situation for himself to be the hero of, so in that case he may not be considered to have "Hero Syndrome." On the other hand, with his refusal to kill villains and constantly just putting them back in jail, knowing full well that they will escape eventually, you could say that that is actually him setting himself up to play hero again once they escape. By his refusal to just kill them(with every right to) he is setting it up for them to escape again and cause trouble for him to solve.
Bro, I used to hear this song back when it was released. I was just speaking to my fiancè about the batman / joker relationship and how the hero needs the villain to exist and I just came back to this song. Gavin, thanks for the work after all these years. You've brought back so many fond memories of all the songs of yours that I heard. I don't know if you'll read this, but you have a special place in my heart for all my life. ❤
I don't know why, but this song is beyond beautiful. I had found this on spotify by accident and became amazed by it. I feel like this song was exactly something Mark Hamill could sing as a swan song to end The Joker with. Congrats on such an amazing song!
This... Does put a smile on my face. Whether that's good or bad is based entirely on you and your perception of said smile, but right now, factually... This smile is one of a joyous, humorous intoxication.
That's the perfect mix from what the Joker is made of. This insanly Happyness, Sarcasm, and this strange kind of Humor that makes a Joker a Joker. Awesome Work.
If Batman were in the song: We are nothing alike, You're just sick in the mind, You're just chaos for the sake of itself! And if you were to leave, I would jump up in glee, Face it, Clown! You'd be naught without me
+ShadowWriter45 I love Batman, but I have to heartily disagree here. Batman and Joker have a unique symmetry. You cannot have one without the other. Joker is special and it's something movies often forget. He's normally in one then they throw him away. The creators of Batman crafted the perfect villain. It's okay to keep reusing him because he never gets old, partially due to his unique relationship with Batman he's different from the other villains in that sense. I can't quite place what it is that makes him so unique, but it's there. also to due the fact that he's often times the comic relief
@@ashtonroman3143 I didn’t cry, but I was really sad and shocked that they really did it. :/ and I haven’t played the game to the end since… it’s cruel to make a character this likeable and then kill him off.
Amazing. I feel like it genuinely is the Joker. like a dip in his mind. You can feel the genuine longing for acceptance of their connection being more than good and bad. Like he is in denial. Powerful stuff.
This song is so phenomenal. So phenomal that I'm still coming back to it nearly 8 years later. Same with Mind of the Bat; these two songs just absolutely nail the characters that they psychoanalyze. This song IS Batman and Joker's relationship to me. It embodies them so perfectly; such a moving, powerful tribute to two of my favorite characters in all of fiction. Ever since hearing it, this has been one of my favorite songs of all time; the music fits Joker flawlessly, the sound is unsettling, powerful, and frightening, yet playful at the same time. And Joker's voice is fantastic in this; just nails the character. I still love coming back to this, it truly holds up after all this time.
Spoiler: When I played the game for the first time it was a complete surprise, but there were two strong hints that the Joker of the final battle isn't the real one: 1) clean skin and even make up 2) detective vision does not show any bones!
I don’t think the song is just about Joker convincing batman that he needs him, but it’s also about joker convincing himself that he needs Batman. In Arkham knight, joker’s biggest fear wasn’t about everyone in Gotham forgetting him, but rather the Bat forgetting about him.
God focking damn man The lyrics to each and one of your videos is... is... Well, I'm lost for words, and i gotta tell 'ya, that doesn't happen that often.
I had this pop into my head today... a Batman version of the refrain. It's a little stressed in a few places but lord knows I don't normally try to compose songs. We are two of a kind Sad and lost in our minds You're the Hyde to my Jekyll, you know? And were I to goodbye Why you'd frown-n-you'd die Face it Clown, your smiles lost without me.
+Voidtalon Gaming I had something quite like that... Ended up writing a whole batman version of the song. Here's it: Chasing you down in the shade Not to leave your crimes unpaid With my soul lost in this rain And prowling under the moon I know I'll be joining you soon In your hell of madness and pain. And I’d like to avoid you And never again see you And from your madness be spared But now there’s no escape I must wipe out from your face Your smile and your murderous glare We are not the same kind You’re sick, twisted in the mind You're the end to my wit, can't you see? And if you were to leave I would rejoice and feast Face it, clown... I'd be best were you to leave! I'd be best (I'd be best) I’d be best (I’d be best) Face it, clown... I'd be best were you to leave! I’m just trying to stop you ‘Cause your sickness drives you I wish I could know why You threw your reason away And gave us all many bad days And your mind for sure is wry This is why we're fated to battle While you never stop your prattle I am sick of playing your game But you'll never make it end For you think we’re friends You’re blind and think we’re the same We are not the same kind You’re sick, twisted in the mind You're the end to my wit, can't you see? And if you were to leave I would rejoice and feast Face it, clown... I'd be best were you to leave! I'd be best (I'd be best) I’d be best (I’d be best) Face it, clown... I'd be best were you to leave! We had so many haunting stories Yeat I was not ready for the last Being a hero with no villain gets hoary How much I miss your smiles and taunts and... LAUGHS!!! AAHHHAHAHAHOOOOHOHOHHAHAH! We were two of a kind Violent, unsound of mind And all of this, only now I see And I barely believe I miss you And I can’t believe I grieve I’ll face it, clown... I am lost without you! I am lost (I am lost) I am lost (I am lost) I’ll face it, clown... I am lost without you!
I love that "Someday I will replace that big frown on your face with a smile and a murderous glare " can imply that he's talking about the Joker Virus.
I can imagine joker dancing a waltz around a large room with a dead batman in his arms with this song playing and him singing to his dead-beat bats. Morbid, but that's what I'm imagining.
Perfectly captures the irony of the song Joker's convincing Batman that he'll be lost without Joker When in truth it's Joker who'll be lost without Batman
"We are two of a kind Violent, unsound of mind You're the yin to my yang, can't you see? And if I were to leave You would grumble and grieve Face it, Bats... You'd be lost without me!" - You made my day, Gav :>
So what side would you be on? Bats or the Joker? Hmm? Might sound horrible but I would totally keep grinning and follow the joker! The best joke ever is life itself!
I would definitely be on Jokers side, it's just more fun, if you can handle that you could get murdered by him just for his amusement. But hey, why so serious?
Spoiler for Arkham Knight to follow. I'm not kidding When the Joker serenaded Batman in Arkham Knight, I was really disappointed they hadn't licensed this beautiful song. (Not massively surprised, as they would have to acknowledge someone else's brilliance, but disappointed nonetheless.)
I know. I really wish they had because it would have been the perfect song for that. Joker singing to Batman about how they're the same. While they are literally the same person.
What they should have done was put joker as a playable character they already had the mechanic to play as him but that's for like 5- 20 god DAMM minutes in the story instead they put Harley in the game and they teased all players with that nightmare batman.....again, so because of knights sorry excuse for characters that are playable I am lost from the batman series's..... And I'll stick to the last few that were good and entertaining!!!
What a fantastic song and what a fantastic channel for inspiration for a fellow musician (8bit that is ;p). I have listened a few songs and all of them are just breathing the right atmosphere about the game that its written for. Keep up the aweseom work :).

Whoa, it's shocking how well you captured the Joker's voice, I even caught a quote or two from the comics you threw in there. That's impressive.
It reminds me so much of "Be Prepared" from The Lion King.
I really like this.
If Batman were in the song:
We are nothing alike,
You're just sick in the mind,
You're just chaos for the sake of itself!
And if you were to leave,
I would jump up in glee,
Face it, Clown!
You'd be naught without me
+dark angel I do not agree
+Alex Jones I totally agree. Joker is nothing without Batman, not the other way around
+ShadowWriter45 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻🖕🏻
+ShadowWriter45 I love Batman, but I have to heartily disagree here. Batman and Joker have a unique symmetry. You cannot have one without the other. Joker is special and it's something movies often forget. He's normally in one then they throw him away. The creators of Batman crafted the perfect villain. It's okay to keep reusing him because he never gets old, partially due to his unique relationship with Batman he's different from the other villains in that sense. I can't quite place what it is that makes him so unique, but it's there. also to due the fact that he's often times the comic relief
+Alex Jones lol
I love Joker so much that I almost grieved when he died in Arkham City.
I thought I was the only one!
Free roaming has become boring after his death ..
+Rô Gaia CR (The Little StrategisT) I literally cried for 30 minutes because of his death...
Me 2
@@ashtonroman3143 I didn’t cry, but I was really sad and shocked that they really did it. :/ and I haven’t played the game to the end since… it’s cruel to make a character this likeable and then kill him off.
I love the melody of this song. The 6/4 measure allows for a creepy circus tune _and_ a waltz.
Amazing. I feel like it genuinely is the Joker. like a dip in his mind. You can feel the genuine longing for acceptance of their connection being more than good and bad. Like he is in denial. Powerful stuff.
This is quite an accurate assessment of the Joker's opinions of Batman, and a great song to boot! well done!
It's really nice that sometimes in seems like there's two Jokers singing at the same time. Really nice detail.
Its been years since ive heard this and ive finally found it again
Me too
Spoiler:
When I played the game for the first time it was a complete surprise, but there were two strong hints that the Joker of the final battle isn't the real one:
1) clean skin and even make up
2) detective vision does not show any bones!
That's not how a "Spoiler Warning" works...
Spoiler Warning
This is how they work, jackass. I don't really care, but I'm sure some did.
"A role of a lifetime..."
This has been obvious since 2011.
Chrisfragger1 They’ve had almost a decade to play Arkham City,so its kinda on them at this point.
Space Marine Chaplain well there was a hint that there was a fake joker by Harley saying "oh mistah j you look perfect oh wait it's not you "
LOVE this tribute to the greatest villain EVER
I don’t think the song is just about Joker convincing batman that he needs him, but it’s also about joker convincing himself that he needs Batman. In Arkham knight, joker’s biggest fear wasn’t about everyone in Gotham forgetting him, but rather the Bat forgetting about him.
as a kid (when i was about 6 or 7) I could not stop watching this
Same lol
God focking damn man
The lyrics to each and one of your videos is... is...
Well, I'm lost for words, and i gotta tell 'ya, that doesn't happen that often.
***** Nisam uopste ocekivao Srbina.
I had this pop into my head today... a Batman version of the refrain. It's a little stressed in a few places but lord knows I don't normally try to compose songs.
We are two of a kind
Sad and lost in our minds
You're the Hyde to my Jekyll, you know?
And were I to goodbye
Why you'd frown-n-you'd die
Face it Clown, your smiles lost without me.
+Voidtalon Gaming thats good
Muhammed Majeed
Thanks. I haven't caught much of MoS since Skyrim but he does good stuff. I also just saw Fires Far (Dark Souls II) also a good one.
Voidtalon Gaming yea i also like the fallout 4 one
that's actually good
+Voidtalon Gaming I had something quite like that... Ended up writing a whole batman version of the song.
Here's it:
Chasing you down in the shade
Not to leave your crimes unpaid
With my soul lost in this rain
And prowling under the moon
I know I'll be joining you soon
In your hell of madness and pain.
And I’d like to avoid you
And never again see you And from your madness be spared
But now there’s no escape
I must wipe out from your face
Your smile and your murderous glare
We are not the same kind
You’re sick, twisted in the mind
You're the end to my wit, can't you see?
And if you were to leave
I would rejoice and feast
Face it, clown...
I'd be best were you to leave!
I'd be best (I'd be best)
I’d be best (I’d be best)
Face it, clown...
I'd be best were you to leave!
I’m just trying to stop you
‘Cause your sickness drives you
I wish I could know why
You threw your reason away
And gave us all many bad days
And your mind for sure is wry
This is why we're fated to battle
While you never stop your prattle
I am sick of playing your game
But you'll never make it end
For you think we’re friends
You’re blind and think we’re the same
We are not the same kind
You’re sick, twisted in the mind
You're the end to my wit, can't you see?
And if you were to leave
I would rejoice and feast
Face it, clown...
I'd be best were you to leave!
I'd be best (I'd be best)
I’d be best (I’d be best)
Face it, clown...
I'd be best were you to leave!
We had so many haunting stories
Yeat I was not ready for the last
Being a hero with no villain gets hoary
How much I miss your smiles and taunts and...
LAUGHS!!! AAHHHAHAHAHOOOOHOHOHHAHAH!
We were two of a kind
Violent, unsound of mind
And all of this, only now I see
And I barely believe I miss you
And I can’t believe I grieve
I’ll face it, clown...
I am lost without you!
I am lost (I am lost)
I am lost (I am lost)
I’ll face it, clown...
I am lost without you!
I love that "Someday I will replace that big frown on your face with a smile and a murderous glare " can imply that he's talking about the Joker Virus.
This song sounds like a valse into madness, I adore this!
you've absolutely got to appreciate the line I have studied the mind of this bat. so much continuity in these batman songs.
OK...that was awesome.
This describes me and my twin, were opposites but the same, I'm a strict, workaholic with mental issues, and shes goofy, careless and calm
Teach us how to do the joker voice so good :D
So well* grammar is important!
Obsidian war god Fek off :D
+Obsidian war god you just wasted your life on writing that comment... congrats!
i lieve liek 4 u may frend
"Grammar Nazis are wonderful people who get lots of chicks!"
-Said no one ever.
We are two of a kind
Violent, unsound of mind
You're the yin to my yang, can't you see?
BESTLER the JOKER and if I were to leave you would crumble and grief
Face it bats you’d be lost without me!
@@jackemon0391 You'd be lost!(You'd be lost!)
@@opelem6051 Face it BATZ you'd be lost without me~~
I think joker singing this only makes this song even greater! Loved it
I can imagine joker dancing a waltz around a large room with a dead batman in his arms with this song playing and him singing to his dead-beat bats. Morbid, but that's what I'm imagining.
Kevin Conroy gone and Mark Hamill saying he probably won't ever voice Joker again.
End of an Era
Perfectly captures the irony of the song
Joker's convincing Batman that he'll be lost without Joker
When in truth it's Joker who'll be lost without Batman
"We are two of a kind
Violent, unsound of mind
You're the yin to my yang, can't you see?
And if I were to leave
You would grumble and grieve
Face it, Bats...
You'd be lost without me!"
- You made my day, Gav :>
Joker is so romantic ❤
I used to listen to this song like 4-5 years ago man. Fully used to bang
I love this pair... the joker in "the Batman" put it perfectly, they're linked just like tragedy and comedy
the fact that its a waltz makes it so much better
Best song ever.
So what side would you be on? Bats or the Joker? Hmm? Might sound horrible but I would totally keep grinning and follow the joker! The best joke ever is life itself!
Joel Elmlund I gotta agree with you on this.
I choose Superman :I
Joker
I would definitely be on Jokers side, it's just more fun, if you can handle that you could get murdered by him just for his amusement.
But hey, why so serious?
I think my name awnsers your question pretty well
This is the best Joker song that was ever made. Props man. Liked.
Over ten years have passed and this song is still a banger.
Hey, MoS. Joshscorcher put this song in his top 10 fan made villain songs list. He LOVED it
JT's Atlas rap should of been on that list, instead he put a fucking MLP song
The art the beauty of this song❤❤❤❤
Wow man so good.
Honestly, this melody combined with most of these lyrics could make the perfect vampire song.
10 yers later and it' s still the GOAT!!!!
Spoiler for Arkham Knight to follow.
I'm not kidding
When the Joker serenaded Batman in Arkham Knight, I was really disappointed they hadn't licensed this beautiful song.
This song, with Mark Hamil's voice, would have killed EVERYTHING in life
So did you want him to be mute again in Star Wars Episode VIII?
I agree. BUUUUT the song they used WAS really good....
That's... Actually a really good Joker impression
the joker heh there's just something you gotta love about him
I think it's just every time the joker says something in the comics you hear mark hamill's amazing joker voice
+TheBatOfRUclips Do you hear his voice now, while i Talk to you? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA
mcw Everything 😁
im amazed at the voice acting here, it sounds just like the Joker!
I'd love to see The Badman put him to sleep.
I can't take this out of my mind, it's too beautiful!
I love this song so much. First joker song I've heard apart from random spin offs. 10/10 100% well done!
I’ve loved this forever well done miracle of sound, well done.
What a fantastic song and what a fantastic channel for inspiration for a fellow musician (8bit that is ;p). I have listened a few songs and all of them are just breathing the right atmosphere about the game that its written for. Keep up the aweseom work :).
This song hits different now.
What he is singing in the song is true and also you nailed the Joker voice perfectly, that was magnificent dude.
Okay, so... I discovered this three days ago and already listened to it about 20 times.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
