I've heard distress calls from pilots in severe situations, and just by hearing their radio transmissions, you would think they were ordering happy meals at the drive in.
I've worked on these jets my entire adult life and never gotten a ride in one. Seeing the joy on this ladies face is what it's all about. I'm glad she had an awesome time and I can tell she appreciates what a blessing the opportunity is.

As a former Blue Angel pilot...#7, #3, #4...I can tell you, your Mom, Brock, is the person that you really hoped you would be taking up in the #7 jet...A reaction like she has makes the flight a lot of fun for the demo pilot...I would be very proud of her if I were you, and the fact that your Dad passed it up for her manifests the type of man we all aspire to be!
I work as a tandem skydiving instructor. It's a real privilege to give people one of the most amazing times of their lives, just as this pilot is doing for her.
Really cool video and this young lady is a champ. None of the G's or maneuvers bothered her at all until the last maneuver where she lost it! Wish I could still fly! I was a Navy Pilot in the early 1960's and flew the F9 and F 11. The F 11 was the Navy's first supersonic plane. I did get to fly an F4 Phantom from Beeville Texas to Pensacola Florida one time and really enjoyed it. Sadly now at the age of 83 I am not allowed to fly anymore! Great video young man. Your mother is a Trooper.
How amazing!! My hero my grandfather William Alexander McKinney flew with the Blue Angels he was a colonel in the Air Force. Also worked for General Electric he was a true hero!! to me thank you for this it made me cry!!!

After military pilots grow old and gray flying for the Navy and the Air Force, pilots usually apply for jobs at the airlines because they can get them and they pay well. My dad and a bunch of his buddies all fly for Delta now, but they used to fly C-17's and F-16's in the Air Force. It's just the thing to do after you retire from the military I guess

We used a high performance carnuba wax on the INSIDE of the air intakes to ensure maximum airflow to the engines. Eight hours a day there ways always something to do on those F-4 airplanes. Yeah, this was way back in the good old days. ('69-'73)

Years ago...Had the great pleasure of taking my then 14 year old grand nephew and his cousin to the air show at Navy Miramar - near San Diego, California. Thrilling to see the performances of many aircraft including the Blue Angels Gives one the chills when you think of how far this nation has come since the inception. And good for this lady...who truly had a great experience and appreciated it..
Brock, You can consider your mom to be one of the lucky few who have hitched a ride with a Navy Fighter Pilot. Those guys are the best trained pilots in the world. Your Mom Is very lucky. I would give anything to fly in an aircraft like that. And That FA-18 Hornet is one of the top 2 or 3 Fighter/Attack in the world when it was introduced. God Bless those guys. When they were just fighter pilots, They were the top 1% of all fighter pilots. Those Men are bad ass. They are the first ones to fly thru heavily guarded targets to make "The" point. A Very Dangerous trade Indeed.......
