  • How to start spearfishing for beginners. In this video I will cover some of the basics to shore dive spearfishing. Personally spearfishing from the shore is my preferred method of spearfishing as bringing home a nice catch is very rewarding after hauling your fish over the rocks.

    Great content mate. Congrats on reaching 10k subs. Are you wearing the Soft Shell jacket? How is it? Any chance in the future you could do a review the Salvimar Tomahawk Speargun? And lastly I would recommend you to look at the Beuchat Mundial Backpack as I’m using that for shore dives. It has gun holders, can fit all your gears, has a flushing hole for when your gears are wet in the main compartment and has a cooling compartment for your catch and even beers 😅 and I also carry a Banksboard as a hard float and comes with a net bag and gun holder. Not sure if you’re interested in that but worth the look. Have a good day mate!

    Hi, this video is very educational for the beginner, your explanation on the use of the equipment and safety tips is quite good. One thing i would like to know is if diving with a buddy is essential when shore diving in shallow waters.

    • @TheOutdoor_Guy
      @TheOutdoor_Guy  10 месяцев назад

      Hello and sorry for the delayed response. Starting out I can only recommend it until you're 100% comfortable in the water. I don't always dive with a buddy as I find having too many people in the water scares the fish off. It's much safer though

    Hi, I've been following you since last year and everything in your videos has always been spectacular. The quality is great, there are several funny moments, the sessions are amazing... this channel is absolutely brilliant and you helped me a lot with the majority of my curiosities about the world of diving and spearfishing, thank you so much. Anyway, I would like to make a suggestion (if it's not a problem): I'm convinced that to add a really funny video on your channel, you could make a compilation of all of the moments where you or your friends get "caught" on video while peeing in the water (my uncle relieved himself in a scuba diving session and that was hilarious), it's something like a "oops moments" compilation, what do you think? I'd be so so happy to watch it, let me know, bye!

    • @TheOutdoor_Guy
      @TheOutdoor_Guy  3 года назад

      You need to get in this summer! I personally think there is no need to go out that far for fish, not only is it a long way if something were to go wrong but it also isn't necessary. It all depends on your area. 60% of my bass taken during 2020 were in water no deeper than 15 only 100m from the shore.

    I got a weird question (sorry I’m a beginner): how important is to have a dive watch when are you diving?
    Thanks and great videos. ❤

    • @donbobskiy
      @donbobskiy Год назад

      It is good to have it if you dive deeper than about 5m. The thumb rule: 1 min dive - 2 min rest. Otherwise, you are on your way to blackout (mean death)

    • @TheOutdoor_Guy
      @TheOutdoor_Guy  Год назад +1

      Depends on how deep you are diving. I like it for deeper dives as it tells me exactly what depth im at and I can kinda guage bottom time off that. But as a beginner it's great for your surface time and giving yourself enough time for your breath up

    I wanna go spearfishing do i need to learn freediving first? 🙂

    • @TheOutdoor_Guy
      @TheOutdoor_Guy  3 года назад +2

      It's best to have some kind of background in freediving, this can even be snorkelling around and getting used to being under water. Once you're comfortable with this, introduce the speargun.

      True but I dive alone and so do plenty of other people I know. Don't push yourself and be safe

    The only thing... If you said you'll be at 18:00 and didn't return, man... in the best case your relatives will find your cold body. But most probably they won't. Guys, don't fool yourself - spearfishing is a dangerous sport, and if poo hits the fan, most probably you will be dead. If one is spearfishing alone, one has to have a strict protocol for one's diving. And it is mandatory to follow it. You have to be aware of what and why you are doing during your dive. This is the only way to survive.

    Crocks are the worst "invention" ever. Go barefoot, or with flip flops if you have tender feet.
