I just tried it, even took the cover off and sprayed it like crazy and still works the same which means it doesn't work. Update, right after that I just soaked the belt in soapy hot water over nite wired it off in the morning and it works fine.
Thanks for the instructions. I'll be taking mine apart in next few days. I bought this 2013 Escape after it was smacked in door. Drivers airbag, and both roof curtain bags deployed. I have since changed them. Airbag light is still on. I just ordered and picked up an AB relay for drivers seat, to install next couple days. Not sure if both pretensioners quit working then, or earlier? Any thoughts from your experience that I've missed?
@@TheMervK Get it fixed? I guess it's possible you need IDS software to interrogate it properly. With factory software you can run a network test and ping the abs module to see if it communicates.
I just changed both seatbelts and pretensioners, with used ones a couple days ago. Will continue on the weekend as I had trouble with one of the plug ins. That's all the time I had that day. @@raincitywrench117
Wow that’s a lot of work, I took a long skinny hose and fished it down and sprayed WD40 and Walla it works like new.

Has the SRS module been scanned. If so, what codes do you have?
@@raincitywrench117 no it hasn't. No codes show on an OBD scanner. Would SRS need a more advanced scanner?

Do you think insurance covers it under safety i know theres a deductible but it may not apply in this case because of the safety rule
That I don't know & assume it's out of factory warranty. Definitely worth sending an email to your insurance agent though.
Is it all the same for a 2017 Ford Escape?
I cant say for certain but third gen Escapes ran from 2013-2019 so I bet it's identical.
