    Some Jamaicans don't realise that those of us who don't have access to a grill or outdoor fire have to use what we have. An oven is the next best thing to cook/bake 'chicken with jerk sauce'. No wood smoke flavor but to us it is reminiscent of home and it is our take on jerk chicken.

    Jody, thank you! I've made jerk chicken before and just added seasonings in different quantities. I seasoned some chicken yesterday and cooked it for Sunday dinner today. It was soooooo tasty. The only two things I didn't do was not use the browning. I used green seasoning in a bottle instead of the green fresh seasoning you made. It came out so nice! Can't wait to make it again. Thanks again!

    Thank you Jody!
    This is a very good recipe. I've made Jerk Chicken for a long time, and had always been a proponent of doing the chicken over an open fire (with pimento wood and allspice) to get real smoke flavor.
    But since it's getting cold I tried your version (with Jamaican rice and peas of course) and it was really good.
    Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed your video; your voice has a comforting and relaxed tone to it!! Good luck with more videos!!

    • @davidandJody

      Sinclair Travel hi 👋 no I didn’t cover it it was open. If you use foil paper or baking sheet it will suck the moisture and let it be dry the dish helps to hold the moisture. But if you want to use either of your choice they work too.

    Hey girl. I made your chicken today and it was so delicious it’s already gone. The only problem was for me it was a little salty because I trouble with high blood pressure. My family loves it . It’s so juicy. I was wondering where all that juice came from but like you said because I used the aluminum foil before that what’s dried it out but today I used the Pyrex dish. It’s awesome and delicious. I even make the coconut curry shrimp. Never knew I could make curry shrimp with coconut. I learned all of this from you. I guess my family we love my cooking more lol.. girl you’re cooking is the bomb

    I cheated and just got the Jamaican Style Jerk Maranade and spiced it up! Efficient and cheaper. And since I'm not Jamaican, I won't know the difference! 😂

      Lol you’re so funny 😆 I bet it came out banging🔥🔥 can’t beat the homemade style. If you use the exact same recipe and the jerk sauce mix it’s the real authentic jerk chicken just that it’s not on the grill but either way it’s the same 👊🏽 thank you so much for trying out my recipe and for watching! Have a blessed week✊🏽

    Looks like a great recipe! Can you provide a substitute for Browning Sauce? Would Worcestershire Sauce work?

    • @avionterria7855
      @avionterria7855 Год назад

      Different flavors. The recipe I know calls for both. You can omit it if using the wet marinade, it contains browning. It will not change the taste much at all. I've made jerk from scratch, used Grace brand and Walker brand.

  • @TeshornMakingMoves

    Nice! I remove the skin bc I don’t eat skin. To ensure the flavor is all the way to the bone I let it sit in the marinade for 2 nights in the fridge.
