I am an Indian who had never heard about Jerk Chicken before. Then I travelled to London, there was a food street that had small joints serving food from across the world. I saw a huge queue outside one of the joints. I came to know there is Jerk Chicken being served. I was taken a bit by surprise that why would someone name a dish as Jerk Chicken. Nevertheless, i joined the queue and ate the Jerk Chicken for the first time in my life. After that i got addicted to the Jerk chicken that I started to visit the food joint daily and eat it daily. I am back in India but i still crave that Jerk Chicken. I dont think we get Jerk Chicken even at some fancy restaurants here, even if some do serve I am not sure if that would be an authentic recipe. My love for Jerk Chicken still remains, and I would never leave a chance to eat it again. Long Live the Jerk Chicken and blessed are the Jamaicans for inventing this fantastic dish.

Some of the recipes I've changed a little to improve the taste. For instance, for french fries which call for no oil, I spray them with olive oil and season them with salt and pepper. They come out great! It makes the best toast I have ever eaten. The recipe I use calls for lightly buttering both sides of the bread. It calls for cooking at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on one side and then 2 minutes on the other side. This time has a lot to do with the kind of bread you are using...so keep an eye on it. Also, the fans in this Ninja are a lot stronger than other air fryers. So lay a metal spoon or something on the bread to keep it from flying around. It's a little extra work to use your Ninja as a toaster but it is worth it!
I made this recipe a few months ago except I grilled it over coals. Currently doing this again. Chicken is in the fridge marinating overnight! Such an incredible recipe.

Back in 2014 I was dating a Jamaican lady in Miami and Thanksgiving of 2014, there's a Jamaican restaurant down there that sells jerk turkey and it was TO DIE FOR!!!! I ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Jamaican cuisine and when I went to Jamaica for the first time in 2018 and the second time in 2020, both times I was in paradise and gained 11 and 12 lbs respectively during both trips and ENJOYED EVERY BITE TOWARDS EVERY POUND that I gained (each time when I returned home, I got back on track resuming my normal diet and lost more than I gained each trip) as I was determined to enjoy the REAL Jamaican food and not the "Americanised" version we get here in Florida (and the rest of the country) for the most part. I enjoyed this video, liked it (thumbs up) and subscribed. Bravo Mama Joan, big ups and love your beautiful and well laid out kitchen!
