    Can I add pineapple juice instead of orange ?
    And can I put pimento leaves also or too much thanks for the answers

    • @feedandteach
      @feedandteach  5 месяцев назад +2

      I actually prefer pineapple juice...if your using the jerk seasoning to make sauce or to do a quick meat marinade like 5 minutes pineapple juice is perfect but pineapple has enzymes that break down protein and can make whatever meat you add it to mushy, especially for longer marinades. A work around is to heat the pineapple juice before adding it to kill the enzymes.

    Well done brotha.. Id use apple cider vinegar, de-seed the scotchies, dark soy sauce instead of salt, molasses instead of brown sugar and browning, palm oil, basil and a touch of tomato paste personally.. but to each their own. It goes on all meats!

    Sadly can't get scotch bonnet anywhere. I have tried. I use habenaro but it just isn't the same. Made one similar to this but I always add to much vinegar.

    • @feedandteach
      @feedandteach  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yea...Scotchie has a unique flavour you don't get from other peppers...Try skipping the vinegar and use milder acids like lime, lemon or orange juice, You can play around with it so it fits your taste

    Hey , what exactly is that fruit used at 4:02 mark of the video ? It looks like a lime . Can I have the name of that because orange is not green lol. I know American fruit is different names in other places around the world but I want that lol. Having trouble finding that

    • @feedandteach
      @feedandteach  Месяц назад +1

      You're right, it looks like a lime, but it's actually an orange! In Jamaica, oranges are often green on the outside, especially when they're not fully ripe. It’s still the same sweet orange inside!

    • @panero718
      @panero718 Месяц назад

    I’ve never had any jerk food but I love chicken so I’d like to make jerk chicken. But afraid it will be too hot. My family can’t take the heat as well as me but even though, I have my limits.
    Do the bonnets have seeds I can take out to reduce the heat a bit? I hear you can substitute in habanero’s but they are the same on the Scoville level.
    Id really hate to procure the correct ingredients just to find out it’s too hot for us. I live in Midwest USA so some ingredients will be harder to find d.

    • @feedandteach
