- Jerk Sauce is a banger, I love the versatility and its a sauce that has everything, loaded with flavour, spicy, tangy, sweet and fruity while still being very savory! Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS LIST

1 Cup Tomato Ketchup

Thank you for the recipe! Going to make an extra trip to the market to buy some Scotch Bonnets and make some of this. Is Jamaica rum the other trademarked product?
Yup...That is it!
@@feedandteach I would have guessed ginger beer, lol
@@feedandteachthey need to also do same for Jamaican beef patties.
@viewly390 .e a tell you fam.bought a box today at Sam's club..taste like Chinese patty 😢

This look so good, the ingredients are very simple. I will definitely make this one. I don’t care for the bottle jerk sauces that’s in the store. Thank you for sharing.
Looks delish can’t wait to make this sauce, thank you for sharing your gift.

Thank you ❤
Thanks for the video! The free pro tip is the secret. There is also a substitute for regular Soy sauce that adds a great dimension to jerk!
Mouth watering
I would definitely say pineapple over orange juice, used orange and made it quite bitter rather than sweet. Preference i guess personally pineapple id have preferred but great recipe. I made the jerk marinade too which is top notch
I have had that problem but it boils down to the quality of the orange juice used...I prefer pineapple juice as well!
apparently tropical juice is good. never used it though
Thanks for the recipe, finally trusted authentic Jamaican recipe
Big up
You really explain your food well the other protected food I think is curried goat I'm starving now
That sounds good but It's Jamaican Rum!

Perfect explanation and perfect result. Im going to make soo much more of this sauce.
My goddd, this sauce and the prior marinade, look incredible! The city I grew up in had some amazing spots, but I moved to the arctic 8 years ago and the closets Jamaican restaurant is a 15 hour drive away. I can't wait to make this marinade and sauce, it looks like everything I crave. Gonna have to check out your rice and peas, and oxtail video; thank you for sharing and uploading!
Who moves to arctic
Would love to see some Fried chicken 🍗

Great recipe bro,making it today,much appreciated 😊
yes man! 👌🏾
In onto something 💪🏾🔥
Thank You for sharing this I’ve been looking for this sauce to make
I’m back!
Dude! The marinade and chicken is amazzzzing; its got fruity and herbaceous flavours, warm and aromatic, the heat and spice level was really well balanced, and the chicken was still juicy out the oven too. Basting with some bbq sauce, for the last 10 minutes, helped with colour a ton as well. Can’t wait to try some fish with this marinade. Great tips and recipe overall
The bbq sauce was really good too, but I felt like it had way too much soy sauce and kinda took away from the jerk and sweetness, leaving it salty. Or maybe I personally screwed up and put too much in by following the recipe instead of taste testing. Either way, it’s a great sauce and I’m excited to continue trying to tweak the soy and sweet levels to my liking.
Thank you again for these delicious recipes, definitely gonna share with friends and family
Amazing! Taste testing is key because not all ingredients are created equal, I have that that problem when I change soy sauce brands sometimes. Sounds like your crushing it though!
I had the same. Just try to balance it out by adding more ketchup. It contains sugar and it lowers the ratio of soy sauce in the mix
Great recipes! @@feedandteach
Lovely
what store bought jerk seasoning would you recommend?
Eaton's Jerk Seasoning is a pretty decent brand👍🏾
I dont know if this is going a bit far, but can you think of a use for the solids leftover after straining. I found it hard to put it in the bin.
Just leave them in the sauce if you don't mind the texture
@feedandteach I should have added, I prefer smooth like you.
If I think of something I'll.pipe up 👍🏻
I've just finished making some more and can't keep my spoon out if it. Thanks again.
In the video, did you use freshly squeezed orange or pineapple juice or the store boyght boxed one? Or is it a matter of preference?
I used store bought pineapple juice. Its a matter of preference, a good brand that has real pineapple or orange juice is great but freshly squeezed OJ might taste more dynamic in the sauce
This looks great, but how long can you keep this sauce in the refrigerator?
about a week is good, maybe longer but after a week then flavour kinda falls off. You can also freeze it to keep it fresher for longer
Use honey inside of sugar
Are you saying, tho I'm a jamaican living abroad i cannot creat my jerk sauce bottle and sell it?
Try a Jamaican spicy ketchup
OK brethren
Wat de answer to da question?
Gold ole Rum!
@@feedandteach ohhhh I thought it was ackeeee
When you say soya sauce, do you nean soy sauce?
Yeah it's the same thing. Countries heavily influenced by the British English usually use "soya" instead of "soy"
@feedandteach I understand. Great recipe. I'm definitely going to make it.
Is that brown sugar or Demerara sugar ?
brown
Ackee??
Pimento wood is protected, even in JA, i hear
Never heard of that. Pimento trees are fast growing and live really long so I doubt it
@@feedandteach you can't get Pimento wood outside of Jamaica which is a shame of us living outside the island as its' what gives it that unique taste. I have seen videos from Jamaica saying even there they are using alternatives as it is scarce
@johnk6930 That's interesting. I don't have much trouble finding Pimento wood but that's just my experience. I did a deep dive video on pimento recently and I had a lot of pimento to work. It's abundant in western Jamaica at least
@@feedandteach That's good news. Maybe the stocks have been replenished now, as you say they are fast growing trees. I couldn't get it in the UK, maybe a year ago but I saw sites that were shipping to the US
I copied this, but mine didn’t taste or look like jerk sauce …. Not sure what i did wrong 🤦🏻♂️
Did it taste good?
