I had the great pleasure to be in the audience. The concert was in Hanau-Wilhelmsbad/Germany recorded by hr (Hessischer Rundfunk) As a student at highschool i heard a rumour, that Blood Sweat and Tears are playing for free at the Kurpark in Wilhelmsbad. I couldn´t believe my eyes when i arrived and it was true! I still feel a cold shower when i watch this video. Both Jerrys - Fisher and Lacroix were making me forget David Clayton-Thomas whom i liked very much too. It was an outstanding and extraordinary concert which i enjoyed for free, because it was recorded on tv. Incredible!
You are lucky man! I was born in 1986, but I'm a big fan of 70s music. When I was 16-17 - my peers listened Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Korn, Papa Roach... But I fell in love with Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Blood Sweat & Tears, Chicago) And I still love it. I have my own music project, where I make some mix of jazz-rock/brass-rock of 70s and different genres of metal)
Of course and David Clayton Thomas as well. They were both great and, to many people, David Clayton Thomas is the definitive voice of BS&T. However, Jerry Fisher is my personal favorite.
I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry Fisher once. We have a mutual friend and he owned a bar in Bay St. Louis Mississippi. One of the nicest guys you could ever meet.
This edition of BS&T is largely overlooked, but IMO one of the best. Larry Willis(pn), Ron Mcclure(bs), George Wadenius(gtr), and last but certainly not least Jerry Fisher on vocals.
Fantastic, I think Jerry, DCT and Al K were ALL flippin Great, you don't need to compare, If you swap the singers and their signature tunes around they are all less impressive! Great video, saw Jerry and this line up in Leeds UK in early 1970s when I was a skint student, Great memories brought back, CHEERS!
I love DCT and his amazing voice but Jerry is my personal favorite too! When ya watch him he is putting everything into it, straight from the soul! The three albums they made from that era are fantastic even though radio play wise they had fallen off. Dixie did get close to cracking the top 40 however. I wish theyre current group with Bo Bice would add it to the play list. Please!!
Hell yeah! I recorded this concert in German tv on a vhs tape once, now that I see it I remember. Man, this dude sings great, the band plays as a unit, the compositions are complex, this is M U S I C !!!!!
A huge BS&T fan here ever since they came out in the late 60's. I love this song, sung by Jerry Fischer. Love Al Kooper on Love you more that you'll ever know, too. BUT DCT is the BEST lead singer the group ever had, IMHO! Going to see them this month, featuring Bo Bice, from American Idol fame. I am so excited to see them again!
Needed to remember how the melody went, but man what a beautiful song, and what a soulful performance. I'm not sorry to have been listening to this great and very underrated band while my friends were having their ears tortured by the 90s creative slump.
Elemento Lam yes he did my brother 92-93 I was running the sound flashbacking today his Mike technic was so dynamic and such a gental soul he & Melva we're da shizznit
I also love this other song from the album "New Blood" titled "Snow Queen" segueing to Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage". Too bad, no one's uploaded any video yet.
I still listen to New Blood and No Sweat (?) I liked this version a lot and too bad for me that I never saw them perform. I liked Jerry's singing more than David's.
Where is Jerry Fisher these days? Could he belt one out or what....amazing voice. I like David Clayton Thomas too, and I wish I could go back in time and see this band.
Jerry owned a blues club in Bay St. Louis, Louisiana but lost it all during Katrina. He's toured with Rob Paprozzi and the original Blues Brothers Band.
Jerry Fisher makes it look effortless. Been a fan of his BST performances for many years. Like this? Watch him sing "And when I die"... make up your own mind
I wish someone would put together a video montage of all the public Dixie-related monuments, statues, flags, etc. being taken down/removed, etc. of late due to "public pressure", while this song plays ... Seems like it would make a fitting last tribute to her former days ..
Lazy moon Magnolia bloom perfume And Dixie would receive A lady fading fast Still clinging to the past But she had you hating to leave So long, Dixie Sweet Dixie girl, you sure had style Recalling times we've had With all your good and bad I'm glad I had you for a while When we get the blues We just shine up our shoes And head for Dixie's place Ah, we'd sit ourselves right down And pass the bourbon 'round Let Dixie get on the case So long, Dixie Sweet Dixie girl, you sure had style Recalling times we've had With all your good and bad I'm glad I had you for a while Years go by Some memories fade and die But, Dixie, you still shine Now up here where it's cold Folks don't understand your soul Dixie, you're still part of mine Oh, so long, Dixie Sweet Dixie girl, you sure had style Recalling times we've had With all your good and bad I'm glad I had you for a while So long, Dixie Sweet Dixie girl, you sure had style Recalling times we've had With all your good and bad I'm glad I had you for a while So long, Dixie, Dixie Sweet Dixie girl, you sure had style Recalling times we've had With all your good and bad I'm glad I had you for a while So long, Dixie Oh, you sure had style Recalling times we've had With all your good and bad, yeah I'm glad I had you for awhile Ah, Dixie
SO LOG DIXIE pieseň skupiny BLOOD SWEAT AND TEARS, ktorá v týždni od 25. novembra 1972 skončila na 44.m. rebríčka Billboardu, ktorej autormi boli Barry Mann a Cynthia Weil. Záznam z koncertu skupiny v Kurparku v Nemecku v roku 1974. V zostave skupiny boli noví členovia Jerry LaCroix, spev, saxofon bývalý člen White Trash ktorý zomrel 7. mája 2014 vo veku 70 rokov na zlyhanie srdca.Novými hráčmi v skupine boli Tony Klatka trubka, Bill Tillman saxofon, flauta a Ron McClure basová gitara.
Holy Crap! Jerry Fisher AND Jerry Lacroix. You know, I liked David Clayton Thomas but how do you compare to such a powerful duo as these two guys. And of course, what a great incarnation of this band. Fabulous key board work from Larry Willis. And lets not forget one of th best horn sections there was.
I used to listen to Jerry sing when had his own club in Dallas in the early 70's. What an inspiration. Looks like Derringer on guitar. Too tall though.
jerry plays in texas/louisana area..he here and he there but he still singng.. and caring for his mother...and needs to go see his favorate couzin LindaH..hehhe...
I don't need to hear you sing. Jerry is no David Clayton Thomas, but - WHO IS? Fact is, his voice fits this song perfectly and his intonation is spot on.

Jerry Fisher..my favorite BST vocalist. So much soul...this was a great band.
D.Y. Know Al Kooper?
Of course and David Clayton Thomas as well. They were both great and, to many people, David Clayton Thomas is the definitive voice of BS&T. However, Jerry Fisher is my personal favorite.
Sonzeira irmão. Curto muito as músicas da banda.

And Jerry LaCroix
This such a beautiful song. For me, "So Long, Dixie" is my favorite BS&T song. Richard
Amazing film quality and song.
What a great band, song, and vocalist! Jerry Fisher could belt out a song with the best!
Fantastic, I think Jerry, DCT and Al K were ALL flippin Great, you don't need to compare, If you swap the singers and their signature tunes around they are all less impressive!

I listen to this EVERY DAY! What soulful singing.
Great stuff...always loved this album the most and the live version is fantastic!!!
great song, great performance...thanks Jerry Fisher!
FANTASTIC SONG..NEVER TIRE OF LISTENING TO IT!
I never heard this song until about 15 hrs ago and listen to it a lot, just so honest and soulful!
I love DCT and his amazing voice but Jerry is my personal favorite too! When ya watch him he is putting everything into it, straight from the soul! The three albums they made from that era are fantastic even though radio play wise they had fallen off. Dixie did get close to cracking the top 40 however. Wow! It's so good sweet music that moves my body and soul to another planet!
I still remember when I bought the album!
Simply as good as it gets.
Lived most of my life in Bay St. Louis, MS Saw Jerry at his "Dock of the Bay" Club many times! Greatest !
Hell yeah! I recorded this concert in German tv on a vhs tape once, now that I see it I remember. Man, this dude sings great, the band plays as a unit, the compositions are complex, this is M U S I C !!!!!
What a voice my 74 Dad's album. Still recal the song

One of the best live preformances ever
Such a brilliant and sweet arrangement
Needed to remember how the melody went, but man what a beautiful song, and what a soulful performance. I'm not sorry to have been listening to this great and very underrated band while my friends were having their ears tortured by the 90s creative slump.
Jerry i recall every majical moment at the Dock of the Bay in Bay St. Lous . Every note tingles of soul...
Elemento Lam yes he did my brother 92-93 I was running the sound flashbacking today his Mike technic was so dynamic and such a gental soul he & Melva we're da shizznit
Jerry "Count Jackson" Lacroux...was the greatest!!!!
My favorite singer will always be David Clayton Thomas.
this is a great song used to play it excellent live version
Jerry and the Nightbeats were one of my biggest influences in OKC in the late 60s and early 70s, a classic
Do you remember when they all had white hair?
My favorite from B, S and Tears!
Up loaded this song many years ago. Just heard again, .
Loved it then Love it now. Listen if you have time. Allways loved Blood Sweat & Tears.
я люблю мир и труд
Jerry Fisher couldn't sing a wrong note even if he tried. Hope to see him sing live somewhere down the road.
I also love this other song from the album "New Blood" titled "Snow Queen" segueing to Herbie Hancock's "Maiden Voyage". Too bad, no one's uploaded any video yet.
God what a time to be alive
I still listen to New Blood and No Sweat (?) I liked this version a lot and too bad for me that I never saw them perform. I liked Jerry's singing more than David's.

beautiful!
thank you so much for posting these
Excellent!
The three albums they put out with Jerry Fisher were great, with New Blood being the best. Overlooled by radio.
The Ginger Ray Charles.. I want that suit so bad!
fernando perdomo I had that same suit from my touring days
I completely agree with you whity72. Jerry is The Best!
Your awesome uncle jerry 😄
I wish someone would put together a video montage of all the public Dixie-related monuments, statues, flags, etc. being taken down/removed, etc. of late due to "public pressure", while this song plays ... Seems like it would make a fitting last tribute to her former days ..
CLASSIC
good one
Любимая группа - ПОЖИЗНЕННО!!!
great quality on this video!
Lazy moon
Magnolia bloom perfume
And Dixie would receive
A lady fading fast
Still clinging to the past
But she had you hating to leave
So long, Dixie
Sweet Dixie girl, you sure had style
Recalling times we've had
With all your good and bad
I'm glad I had you for a while
When we get the blues
We just shine up our shoes
And head for Dixie's place
Ah, we'd sit ourselves right down
And pass the bourbon 'round
Let Dixie get on the case
So long, Dixie
Sweet Dixie girl, you sure had style
Recalling times we've had
With all your good and bad
I'm glad I had you for a while
Years go by
Some memories fade and die
But, Dixie, you still shine
Now up here where it's cold
Folks don't understand your soul
Dixie, you're still part of mine
Oh, so long, Dixie
Sweet Dixie girl, you sure had style
Recalling times we've had
With all your good and bad
I'm glad I had you for a while
So long, Dixie
Sweet Dixie girl, you sure had style
Recalling times we've had
With all your good and bad
I'm glad I had you for a while
So long, Dixie, Dixie
Sweet Dixie girl, you sure had style
Recalling times we've had
With all your good and bad
I'm glad I had you for a while
So long, Dixie
Oh, you sure had style
Recalling times we've had
With all your good and bad, yeah
I'm glad I had you for awhile
Ah, Dixie

I don't need to hear you sing.
Jerry is no David Clayton Thomas, but - WHO IS? Fact is, his voice fits this song perfectly and his intonation is spot on.

without David Clayton Thomas or Jerry Fisher BST went down the tubes.
Jerry fisher was the best singer they ever had
