- One of the most common but quite misguiding advices heard or received from various sources be it online/offline dieticians, trainers or online articles, is to eat more frequent small meals, rather than infrequent large meals, or eat every 2-3hrs, or eat 6-8 small meals/day instead of 2-3 major meals. This would help ramp up the metabolism and in turn help you lose more weight.
Now, this advice has been there for some time now, but despite of mounting evidence against it and being an extremely impractical and unsustainable advice for most people, it is still being widely given. I feel comfortable when I eat 3 times sometimes a snack but not regularly..... I started eating 3 meals with intermittent fasting... Also my protein is only 75-90 gm but now I feel so much better.... I lost 7 kgs currently 70kg 5.5 and target is 65 kg... I believe u should listen to body... Don't eat too much if u don't want and if u feel comfortable u can eat as much as u can...

Very nice video. I have been telling this to a lot of people, infact it's never recommended to eat frequently. By nature we should have enough gaps between foods. Indian ancient food is our legacy and truly priceless. We were having 2 meals a day years ago.
I usually eat 5 times a day because I'm a very poor eater and can't eat alot of food at once. And eating meals a day has helped me gain weight.
My meals~
Breakfast : approx 650 cal
Lunch : about 700 cal
After workout : 180 cal (40gm soya protein)
Dinner : 630 cal
Approx 2200 cal everyday,140 gm protein
Enough! Enough! 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

I do not follow any indian fitness youtuber because all of them support 6 meals a day diet which is stupid or they try to sell some fitness product so I only followed the carlo from newbie fitness academy channel. He's a Canadian and he supports intermittent fasting and he also encourages everyone to eat 2 or less meals a day. And till today I thought indian fitness industry is so stupid it will never agree to these points but I am happy to see that people like you exists in India. We need more people like you. You are doing a great work. Keep going.

I am a doctor by profession. I always felt our Indian way of eating following sunrise sunset pattern with 2 to 3 meals is the best.Multiple meals are invitation to diseases and insulin spikes in healthy indvidual.Awesome video..very well explained.

I lost 22 kilos in 6 months, from 90 kilos to 68 kilos, by eating 2 meals one at 1 PM and other at 8 PM, I am 5 feet 10 inches. And I am feeling more energetic and comfortable by adopting Two Meal a day (2Mad) diet plan.
You can lose fat or weight by eating 2 meals but you can't build muscle by doing that you need at least good solid 3 meals for that

Hi Akshay. You know something buddy.... Your spot on... I would like to add on to your comment that 3 meals a days (balanced 3 meals) is really good enough for the general fitness guys just not in India but in the world over.... Back in the golden era of bodybuilding (70s & 80s) 3 highly balanced meals was the key for muscle building norms when it drilled down to post workout food. Pre workout food was basically a cup ofstong coffee.. (I'm doing that daily)... Its only for the different breed... Well I'd say that 3 to 4 & not more that this is sufficient for a good upkeep of health & good protein synthesis for a general daily gym goers requires... I also agree that professional athletes require a larger food intake to sustain their high levels of energy / food requirements. I am currently on a self research on testosterone supplements & high protein diet combination which yields good nitrogen retention / protein synthesis. Well that I will save it for a later day... I've always seen it like a car engine. If u keep the engine on at all times will degrade the engine really fast. So eating Twice a day (2MAD) allows the body to have long intervals where it is not digesting food, and helps the body live longer.

Sir I have a doubt as per my experience...
I don't follow any special diet... I use to eat 3 meals a day + one protein shake.
I think I consume around 2000 to 2500 calories per day 75 to100grms protein per day. It carries..not every day nor I calculated. Now my doubt is..
I just divided the same 3 meals to 6 meals plus 1 protein shake . So total 7 meals.
2 breakfast 2 lunch 2 dinner 1 protein shake average gap of 3 hours.. I didn't added or reduced the quantity of food. I just divided. My workout program also same. Push, pull ,legs, cardio. My weight also not varried 1-2 kg up and down here and there always. My body composition is really changed , my fat percentage reduced and visibility of muscle increased. HOW IT IS HAPPENED? I didn't made any changes other than divided the same 3 meals to 6? No supplements other than 1 scoop whey. PLZ REPLY SIR

I didn’t increase the food quantity when I gone to 6 meal.. just divided the entire 3 meals , no extra exercise or day to exercise.. sleeping time also similar.. but body composition changed.. I observed , the fat storage process of the body is more with high intake of meals at a time....but Akshay sir can explain it scientifically..

By God's and my mom's grace I eat 3square home cooked meals a day....I live a moderate active life, wake up early and workout, dn go on with my daily work, I get plenty of sleep, I don't have 6pack abbs, but I hv a healthy weight for my height and am fortunate to b fit and functional

#akshaychopra sir regarding diebetes my personal experience is as follows. 2 meals a day or in between fast improved the thype 2 diebetes and without medicine can see measures around 6.5 hba1c.
1 - 2- 3 meals a day with atleast 5-6 hours gap in between
2 - Low card load in meals rotis(adding isabgol, almod flour, bran ). Protien in forms of dal, dairy, non veg and indian style oil quantity with all spices in vegietables + salad keeps sugar level steady.
3 - In between fasting. Indian upwas with only water, tea etc
4 - 30-40 mins workout
Improves diebetic condition.
