This is an excellent video. A bit of clever modifying with a great result. Now they make filters for our VT-VZ that fit up without mods. There is someone 3D printing a filter adaptor for VL and VK.
Thanks mate I bought a VZ Ute wanting to change cabin a filter had the same problem no one knew what I was talking about I didn’t even know where they kept the cabin filter holder and certainly stuffed up in that department very helpful thanks👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Need to make access door in the plenum cover for easy change out. Scorpions mate for cutting the filter! All up great video, I'll be doing this to Gloria
If you look down the comments, apparently some have been made for our models now. Also someone else suggested Citroen C4 picasso filters fit. Hope that helps. Cheers, Andy
@@grayzbildz Doh. I rushed into my response without looking through the threads. Next time I'll be more diligent. Great video. What a pain to do but worth it. i loved your video about cleaning the aircon. Taking that dash off will never happen. I admire your tenacity, Thanks Mark
Hey Zack, did you have to trim a bit off the long side? I have measured the cavity and these ones are a bit longer. Good tight fit otherwise. The only draw back with these is the lack of sealing foam around the edge.
@@MrConspark Fit fine, was a little tight but had no issues. I put photos up on my Instagram of my fitment.I didn't bother with the trimming, Ive done the xu6, still have the clubsport to go, Ive noticed a few differences between yours and mine, but the stone guard was the same. No I'm sorry mate, not sure. Pull the plenum cover and you'll know straight away. Cheers and thanks for watching and commenting. Please consider subscribing if you haven't already. Thanks, Andy
Cabin air filters Australia make a carbon filter for vz’s that just drops in the slot. Saves the mucking around. Even comes with a sticker to remind you it needs changing every year.
Every year? Shit,I don't think mines ever been changed. VZ crewman bought in 2005. My next job. Going on holiday in 9 days, will do then. Let you know how filthy it is.😁 PS do they come with a cabin filter from factory?.

Thanks mate. Yes I had heard that.
@@grayzbildz I’d like to think it’s things like this that inspired the production of a filter.
That was a good upgrade. Clever way to trip down the carbon filter, too. 👍
Great modification, long lasting fresh air. Good practice for the Monaro.

Well I guess the parts people are correct.... there never was a cabin filter fitted to these models. Glad it helped. Cheers, Andy
I’ve got same issue vz crewman. I’ve been doing research and it’s says ve-Vt ones will fit vz. What shape was mesh in the vz
It's a rough rectangle although one corner pinches in a bit.
Was thinking bout doing it myself but after watching this I’ll definitely be going to ultra tune 😂
Doubt whether ultra tune will help! Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@grayzbildz not everyone has tools mate and pretty sure thats what a mechanic is for
@@imnorman9264 very true mate. I just put it out there to help others. Cheers
It’s not a job for a mechanic!
I did the same to mine ! it just had a wire net full of leaves of course. Just brought a rectangle Ryco air filter, done the job !
That's great mate.

Awesome video, super easy now, many thanks
You're very welcome Rajeev, and thank you for subscribing! Cheers, Andy.
thanks for the video. Since you did this, have you found any other filters that fit the hole exactly without having to cut one down to size? Thx Mak

Hey mate, next time you replace the filter use the cabin filter from a Citroen C4 Picasso Berlingo. Near perfect fit.
Thanks for the update. Dont suppose you have a part number?
@@grayzbildz I think its 1J912044

Looks good Zack. I sent one of the ones you suggested to my son for his CV8Z. Cheers, Andy
Another great vid mate
Thanks 👍
Thanks for the vid. Any idea if same applies to VR?

Do you know if the vx series commodore's have them??
No as far as I know, they don't.
@grayzbildz Yeah, I thought that they might not as I've read a little bit about it, but I wonder if there is a spot for one, though 🤔

It doesn't have one mate, that's what the whole vid is about. Holden never put a cabin air filter into their cats until VE I think.
Oh, I'll put one in anyhow. It can only do good.
Thanks

Diwhy??
Not sure I understand your question....
Dodgey Chinese filter 🤔👎🏼👎🏼
It's only a cabin filter, not an engine oil or engine air filter......still better than none at all.
