2 brave and masterful woodsmen undertaking their hugely responsible yet challenging occupation. Good to see your excellence posted on RUclips and gaining the recognition most deserved.
been a climber for 13 years and done more than my share of monsters. its always great to watch another professional getting it done safely and in orderly fashion. love the communication and rigging hardware. commendable job
Admittedly I know nothing about logging or tree removal, but I must say this vid seemed like a showcase in professionalism and safety. Well done gents.
Iv'e got to say you guys are the best company in the world, iv'e worked as a climber for 6 years, watched countless videos and companies and you guys are the best out there no doubt, if i ever come to holiday in australia i'd pay to watch u guys do work, even work as a groundy for free just to learn the techniques :) Awesome
I find these videos extremely satisfying. The amount of skill and determination it takes to do this kind of work without damaging property or killing people.
Sir you are perfection when it comes to heavy rigging and tree work. It is an inspiration to watch you and so informative to a newer climber. Please make more videos so we can possibly learn and gain confidence by watching the most impressive removals on film.
I always appreciate a good crew knocking out lumps of wood. Laying your logs flat is a sure sign of lots of experience and good technique. Top job fellas.
As a rigging ground guy this is my most favorite video it reps so hard as a team work situation every cut floats away. As it should lot to watch and learn from
Fair play, brilliant to watch. Being a uk tree surgeon myself those sorts of tree dismantles are few and far between. Brilliant 2 see a pro at work and also a gr8 groundsman.
He’s the best alive bottom line some of us do this for fun some of us do it for a living he’s the best but the ground crew is also the best group effort
Tree removal people are underrated as modern heroes of the labor force. Not many people are capable of doing this kind of work day after day with such strength, skill and agility. Interesting that they went for wood chips instead of firewood with ash being such a great btu wood. Anyway, still awesome mulch enough to practically cover a square mile!
+Richard Federico actually, most tree removal companies are owned and operated by hacks that just woke up one day and decided they would open a business. Probably upwards of 95% of the companies out there are down right terrible and scary to be around. Guys like this are in a league of their own.
Yeah, I could see that with landscaping as the thought has even crossed my mind that if things got bad at my job, I might try to start a landscaping service. However, if you've even seen my lawn you would think twice. My lawn is comprised of seven different kinds of weeds...Lol! I could push a lawnmower though!
+Richard Federico a "Mountain Ash" isn't actually an Ash, it's actually a Eucalyptus (well, the "Mountain Ash" in this video is. The local "Mountain Ash" where I live in Canada is in the Sorbus genus.. still not an Ash.)
I built my career around this man… 11 straight years of cutting I understand ever watch how he puts his fingers behind cuts that’s gang gang shit real props
For everybody that don’t know this is what span rigging at a high elevation looks like this is exactly how it’s done… next generation experience is key pay attention to how it’s going put that in a chipper
I’ve been watching u guys for years now. I’m a solo climber with my own company 7 years now. 20 in the industry. Might have to throw in the towel however due to the total lack of labor. I’m gutted by it. I have the work. My customers love me. I just can’t find groundies
Great job guys. Most impressed with the ascender. Made me realise how out of touch I am with the industry. When I used to climb we used to have to haul ourselves up with a prussic knot. Fine if it wasn't far between anchor points, but a big tree like this. I miss my climbing days. Thanks for a good video. :)
I used Bashlin Tree Climbing Spurs to climb poles and install cable TV, I used tree clmbing spurs because they were longer. I gaffed out several times but never fell, but those were telephone poles, there was no way I would ever climb a tree that big around, especially dead! My hat goes off to you my friend!
Agreed, I had to skip forward until the music turned off... almost muted the video or skipped it altogether. I didn't come to listen to someone's preferred music....
Great work man! Iv been doing heavy removals for over 30 years! 200 foot ponderosa, giant ash, and eucalyptus. Palms, oaks and all! Iv seen lots of videos but that dead mountain ash was a hell of a job! Glad that wood was solid!
Graeme McMahon and Jerry Beranek teaming up for a video. The 2 giants in the industry for big time treework. As far as I'm concerned, anything these 2 guys say should be considered the gospel truth of treework.
very nice skills ,im a climber from south west oz and can say experienced, funny the comments about how hard tree climbers are lol. don't forgets there are thousands of guys like us and you don't need to think your a legend. i now live in Indonesia for some years and do climb here but the local guys here blow my mind,no spikes no harness no any thing and i have seen them bring down some massive trees and brought me down a notch ,
It was a pleasure meeting you the other day in Mount Dandenong. I will definitely be telling the Tree loppers of Sydney to jump on your channel and learn some techniques from you. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
From France. I love your job. I learn lot of. There is some bullshit on RUclips but you or august hunecke are very Well.I do treeclimber but our trees are smaller. But when they are dead, are dead.see your video is good. I stoppe To write it's hard.
.I'm proud to count Graeme as a friend. I've been an arborist for 43 years, and am acquainted with many of the world's most talented climbers. Few have ever worked at Graeme's level. He is a legend. The best of the best!!1
Iv been arborist for 8 years now my dad for 29 years before me and my pap for 33 years before that. I love my job. It's not about the money it's about loving what I do. There are few greater feelings than that of climbing to the peak of a tree and looking out over everything. But I have to say. I consider myself to be very good at what I do. But I can definitely take some pointers from this guy. # never stop learning
If the wood has bark beetle in it it has to be kept away from other trees as it could infest other trees so they chip it and get rid of it in a land fill.
SunShine You look to be at the most 25 years old and work for Bristol Investments? What in the world do you know about lumber prices in the US or milling?
SunShine Being a general contractor is no qualification for being a milling expert anymore than being a dentist or cashier is. There is also no way of knowing how many board feet are in that tree, only an estimated amount by looking at it which I would place around 3000 bd. ft. That tree could be cut into hundreds of thousands of turning blanks, something a general contractor would know nothing about as you deal primarily in borg purchased wood. Do you understand what part of that tree is rotten? The sapwood is which is the most useless part of a tree for furniture building or turning, although GC's use it all the time, that's why you think its worthless because you simply don't know wood my friend.
The people that can do this are awesome in my book. I could not be paid enough to climb a tree to cut it into pieces on the way down. Being in that crane thing is bad enough for me. Swaying in the wind and what not. Respect!
As an arborist, tackling a huge dead tree like that is a testament to extreme skill and courage
most likely the best in the world

This is AMAZING. I do tree work in Ontario, Canada and the next time I think a white pine is big I’ll think back to this. Great video & awesome job.

The most professional team I have ever seen! You guys are are top notch!
now thats got the smooth feel of one well organised and well supplied crew,
thank you for showing us all how it is done.
Fair play, brilliant to watch. Being a uk tree surgeon myself those sorts of tree dismantles are few and far between. Brilliant 2 see a pro at work and also a gr8 groundsman.
When the professionals do it, it looks easy. Love to see the guy's who say "How hard can it be? I'm not paying someone to do this."
This Old man is looking real good, I’m 65 and still climb, nothing this dramatic though😎
Nice edit Angus!
It was a great day with a awesome crew.
Cheers.
Whoa! That’s a massive tree! Enjoyed watching the professional removal
Awesome video. Great skill in every area of the work being done. Great job to everyone who was involved!
I recently realized tree guys are excellent riggers. I’ve learned quite a bit from only a few videos about rigging.
Great Job!!!! After making a few of these videos I can really appreciate the time and skill it take to do this job!!! Well Done!
Oh, the scenery is so beautiful, the direct view is so interesting, I love your videos.

Near ten grand, at the least. But if it needs to be hauled away too, 12000. Maybe.
superb to watch .A master at his art .Thanks for posting .
i love watching this guy work. what a master

Too many tree videos have an overburden of music, or, "music." Thank you that we got to hear the work also.

Highly trained group of men. Great job.
Amazing video and one has to be in top shape to do this work, along with nerves of steel!
You got to be a certain type of person to do that .nice work.
Wow this video did a great job at showing the skill involved in this kind of work. I wish some of how the rigging was done.

Spectacular! I loved every second of that video. WELL DONE!

the music is Chemical Brothers from the Hanna soundtrack.
These men work more in a day than most of us in a year.
Stick that through your chipper, Daniel :)
I thought he was joking until I saw the chipper!
Yeah I thought, "ha ha, yeah right... Ohhhh shhiiiieeetttt that's cool"

Yeah you just removed all doubt.... I am too chickensh*t to do that job!!! You got guts!!!!
Enjoyed the video. See you're not afraid of heights. Thanks for posting.
Nice. What’s more expensive though? The tree going through your shed or having it removed by you blokes? 😂
Probably the shed. Especially if someone's in it
Great job gentlemen. Everything about it. You have a lot to be proud about.
Great drop! One question though - why is it all chipped? Is there no resale vale for firewood, wood turners or any other outlets?
+sherbrooketrees Not enough volume? That tree was worth at least $10,000 to a saw mill.
+Tony Rowan the chips can be valuable as well
If the wood has bark beetle in it it has to be kept away from other trees as it could infest other trees so they chip it and get rid of it in a land fill.
