Hard to take the spotlight away from Yvette though. Her playing is just some damn beautiful to watch. I'm a drummer and my eyes were mostly glued to her playing.
BrandonJohnsonDrums When I saw them I was like “I don’t know how you play that high,” and he was like “Imma bout to show you, boy.” I definitely paraphrased that and used my own dialect. But he showed me for sure.
As someone who doesn't understand anything about drums, I find it amazing how drummers go just as ape shit over this guys drumming as some huge arena rock band drummer going all out. It's fascinating.
This was in my recommendations from signs of the swarm. Figured it was gonna be heavy as hell but nope. As a drummer i listen to everything and now I have a new group to explore. This guy's techniques are amazing. Me personally ni wouldn't have my cymbals that high but if it works for him i support it. Loved this
I haven’t had the chance to check out their new drummer, but I feel sorry for anyone having to fill Forrest’s shoes. 😅 I’m sure the new drummer is still good though.
Theyre SO different lol what. AAL always feels like theyre purposefully aiming to make their riffs/timing extra weird to the point that it feels like a contrived flex of technique (like I doubt many people listen to them for the song itself, but instead just to be awed at the complexity). Covet always feels like the melodies themself come first before the complexity. At least anything after their first EP which also felt like how I described AAL, but still more melodic as a whole imo. Edit: just to be clear Im saying as a whole. Songs like Another Year are an exception
@@DatHombre Your entitled to feel that way just like Im entitled to feel the way I feel. To me they just sound kinda corny and like they are definitely influence by AAL just no where near as good! Peace!!!
@@nwpdrummer85 Yeah but you're wrong!! Just kidding of course haha. But also if you haven't heard the new Covet album you should try it out you miiight like it possibly? Since you like AAL a lot you could try the song Atreyu if you're willing! My personal favorite is Parrot though I think that song is ridiculous Maybe you're mind won't change but you should give it a shot at some point just in case!
Sounds like AAL are the first prog metal/math rock you've ever heard. Covet are entirely their own thing, just because AAL are you're point of reference for this kind of music doesn't mean other bands in the similar genre are trying to emulate them
Covet's music is not for doing crazy shit on the drums, it has much more groove than conventional math rock, i think Forest is perfect for that band, he has formidable technique and lot of musicality.
Forrest is so incredible I was stoked when he joined covet.
im sad he's not playing w them anymore
💔💔💔
Those toms are so beautiful
Theron Cude Tama Birch/Bubinga!
drummers anonymous got the same Tama starclassic bb hyperdrive kit. Such an amazing drum kit. Best kit for me hands down.
drum tuning level: GOD
I watch this again and again! I don't think Forrest is with Covet anymore, but he is one extremely gifted and fun-to-watch drummer!
This dude smooth like butter
just shows how drummers are never noticed by normal crowds unless you are a drummer. This dude Is fucking insane
Rhys Illingworth Ikr this guys style is super different, amazing
Hard to take the spotlight away from Yvette though. Her playing is just some damn beautiful to watch. I'm a drummer and my eyes were mostly glued to her playing.
This is so true
Yeah there's never been a famous drummer ever. . .
Thaatttsss just not true xD Drummers get noticed the most cause theyre not just moving their fingers xD However Yvette playing so
goddamn that's smooth.
Sound engineers must love him
Dude always smiling and it's a whole vibe 🤘🏽
This drummer is definitely on point with his talent. What an amazing drummer!
I absolutely love this guy’s infectious joy that he plays with.
Forrest is the man !
I hope you got more drum cams of Forrest. I need it!!
Bryan Stiebing We should be posting one more some time soon!
Brother makes it look effortless.
Just found this music a few months ago and it’s great
I love this drummer .
Those licks of forrest man damn and how clean that blushda fills that he played. Best outcoming drummer this year from my prespective
4:39 great
Excellent recording and video! 👏
Thank you!
Those toms!! Damn 👍
This mix goes crazy
Whatever stuff he was doing at the beginning was amazing!
Love this channel. Thanks for posting all the amazing drumming 👌 I wish I had more time to watch all your videos ten times 😜
Watching and learning, nice drummer!!!!
Forrest is an amazing drummer and really cool dude.
This is my fav from the new album. Hope it gets a music video
MY MAN, FORREST
geeeze you killed this song. it's so good. it was my pleasure to see you guys live in ATL. i hope you come back
Killing it as usual, i’ve always wanted to try out having my cymbals that high bc of him lol
BrandonJohnsonDrums When I saw them I was like “I don’t know how you play that high,” and he was like “Imma bout to show you, boy.” I definitely paraphrased that and used my own dialect. But he showed me for sure.
I mean, drummers have been doing that for decades. Pink Floyd, Styx, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple
@@hannes1734 yeah, but those bands had drummers with rather large rigs, so they kind of had to place their cymbals rather high to fit everything.
For high cymbals check out Mike Mangini.
@@tonypowell250 To be fair, I think Mike Mangini sits on a drum throne
HOLY SHIT!! Just like being in another dimension!!!
7:44-7:54 OM freakin G!!!!!
Last snare and cymbals fill is awesome
Brilliance.
that blushda, so clear and powerful
That intro sounded super cool
The smiles from the crowd should say everything 👌
Look at how happy the crowd is!
For Real Best drummer of All time 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
For real, no such thing as the best drummer of all time.
U guys are Incredible ... sooo heavy shit not even using a distortion :D Love it I found this band this morning such a great start to 2020 ::))
Lol hows 2020 now
Gallery of riffs
Ahhh.. Soo smooth!
Um this dude is so good
Great and impressive
Dem ... Enjoyed this so much!!!!!
simply wow
Holy fuck I love Covet so much
Awesome!
Fucking hell, amazing drummer!
Dude nutty
This is quite nice.
Sweet
The best
Those toms are singing like birds! 🔥
Bad ass!!
holymoly
Great sound, superb playing and a lovely sounding kit. Not really my thing musically, but still enjoyed this performance.
I dont get how a mosh pit didnt break out at the end haha I absolutely love this song/band sooo much
This is the difference between a drummer and a drum kit owner.
Tom sounds so sweet
Quando vc é foda e acham que por quê é rockeiro não tem técnica suficiente... Muito bom!
4:57 damn tasty fills
one of my favorite drummers right now besides Matt Garstka
Ethan Winograd He’s a beast.
Quite similar. Both beasts! ^^,) Diggin' their style of playing. BIG FAN!
Ethan Winograd same along with Blake Richardson
Love this drummer. He is so happy and much better than the other dude! He threw Yvette off terribly!
He’s selling that wierd cymbal on the right with the inverted bell, never seen that one before
Can anyone please tell me what rhythm/figure/paradiddle variation he's playing at the intro? or at least some part of it? this dude is dope as fuck
Best Dad Rock band out here
As someone who doesn't understand anything about drums, I find it amazing how drummers go just as ape shit over this guys drumming as some huge arena rock band drummer going all out.
It's fascinating.
It's his finesse and cleanliness on the kit.
I wish the mix had more volume with his ghost notes
Man I'm convinced that this guy and Maciej Dzik from Owane are the best in the world. So ridiculous
Can someone tell me what snare drum is that?
That crash to his far right, I don’t think I’ve seen one with a bell like that.
I think it's one of those hybrid China-crash cymbals...
K custom hybrid trash smash. Look it up
anyone know what is that snare?
Does anybody know the first groove pattern?
5:28
What rudiment is this at 6:12 ?
metalking21 looks like a paradiddle
It's a simple paradiddle combined with a paradiddle-diddle. Really simple.
RLRRLL 4X then RLRR LRLL

気持ちええ~!こんな風に叩けたら…!
I like the way this guy incorporates diddles into his playing, sweet
Simon San Nicolas He’s so good.
Una pala ese baterista ...
5:51.........................
フォレストライスも好きだけど初代のドラマーもメタル寄りで好きなんだよなぁ
What song is the intro from?! Holy fuck!
Hey whsts ip Forrest it's jack
Hello
What was the camera used? Awesome video and sound
I dont know about the camera but the audio sounds like it was ripped direct from the board
That tom 1 sound like god
Can anyone tell which Zildjian cymbals he's using?
Dead ass crowd
The Asian in front is crunching the numbers into sequences divisible by 5 squared
HHAHAHA best comment ever
Im the guy standing to his right lol
Reminds me of owls
I can see me 😂
Are you the creepy one staring at the blonde in the front row?
@@tonypowell250 no, you should see your mom beside me.
remember me Neil Pearl
Gastón S ?

Their new drummer can't hold a candle to this. Massive Covet downgrade after Forrest left.

Any drum cams with clay from polyphia
Clayton Williams Nah, I wish. I wasn’t able to get in touch with him before the show.
CHOPS
Looks like Jesus but plays like his father
Nice one lol
That one guy in the font is sharing at that girl a lot.
Dylan S Lol. I think he is looking at the guitarist on that side of the stage.
Cymbals higher than Everest
Forrest is so, so much better than Lil Dicky at drums. I'm so glad they ditched that weird loser.
Forrest and this band are good but I feel they kinda sound like a watered down version of Animals As Leaders!
