Get yourself a man who looks at you the way their drummer looks at everything all the time.
🤣 True. That dude look super happy for no reason
Devin McCrorey : if you were nailing that music, you’d likely be feeling pretty good.
True
With a fake smile with no sincerity?
That shit looks creepy
I wish you all the happiness that that drummer is feeling.
I'd never be sad again lol
he's dying inside though really
I saw these guys live and the drummer did not stop smiling through the whole set he looked genuinely happy though
@@tylercrews9025 dude right! Last night he just set the whole mood for me. The only time I smile that much is after like half a 10 strip or an 8th of shrooms. I aspire to be that happy sober 😂
You as well, sir. :D
After seeing them live, I can confirm: Forrest is always, in fact, that happy.
i find his smile haunting and clearing hiding so much pain
its like when your parents tell you to smile for a photo but you just don't have it in you but the same time you don't want to ruin the picture or memory for everyone else

yeah for real that finish is really cool

And how beautiful she is too haha

That drummer guy reached maximum peace of mind, nothing in the world can bother him while he's playing his drums.

That guitar is INSANE. This band is too perfect for words.
Yvette's math is mind boggling
Well, music is a language that cant be contained in words!
I coincidentally discovered this band while looking up accessories for my Ibanez guitar. They announced a signature guitar for Yvette and looked her up. Seriously loving her work.
The Strandberg guitar she's using was actually painted by herself ❤️
AH yes Yvette

Yvette Young approach to playing guitar is incredible. Every bit as solid as Tim Henson - both very fresh sounding next-gen guitar legends.
Both of them have classical music backgrounds and I feel like it shows in the sounds they choose to make and the music they choose to play.
Yvette was, before guitar, a violinist progeny who also could have been a classical concern pianist before the age of 10, sooo, uh, yeah, she had a helluva a head start in terms of talent and training in music.
this song is like a 100 question calculus exam made out of butter pecan ice cream for my spirit.
Literally the best description.
Yes!!
LOL cool man
If I have a bad day, I just watch the drummer play and I'm instantly feeling better.
My goal in life is to be as happy as the drummer.
What really helps with that goal is to make at least one stranger smile everyday. It's as easy as asking someone "How are you" with a warm welcoming smile. Trust me it's an amazing feeling when they respond with such a bright smile. Not everyone will have that reaction though. Some people may not be in the best mood and might ignore you. They could be in a bad mood. Maybe they'll think about it later and smile. Others might be really shy and have social anxiety, but they still might appreciate it deep down inside them. Just keep your chin up and try your hardest to wear a smile on your face. With enough practice you'll be spreading happiness to everyone around you.
5 years later. Still gold. Still mesmerizing. Still bringing a happy heart ❤️.

Because of Math Rock, i can no longer count to 4...
😂😂😂
I could barely count to four before Math Rock so I'm really screwed
Better than Gabe Newell though. He STILL can't count to 3.
@Bodmerocity A lot of recent math rock is like this, more melodic and less noisy and post-hardcore influenced. However I think it's simply an odd evolution and it's come to a place where it sounds like the folk guitarists, not necessarily actually influenced by them. I don't think it's unlikely that many people who play mostly twinkly math rock have never heard of these folk guitarists, I know I certainly haven't. Although I don't know about the bigger artists that actually caused the shift to the "twinkly" style, so I don't think I can claim anything with certainty.
@Bodmerocity Yeah, I listened to all the artists you mentioned, and there's clearly quite a lot of similarity.
Watching the drummer makes me so happy. Love seeing someone just having an incredible time playing music. So wholesome
No ones gonna mention how tasteful the drums are??
Lewis Jones certainly well played, and they were recorded excellently. Snare sounds great

I'm 66 years old and the greatest decade of the sixties to seventies. It's nice to know that there are musicians keeping good grooves alive And that we survived 1995 to 2015
Good music has always been alive and well.
Math rock, post rock, jazz fusion, technical death metal, other death metal, experimental electronic, etc.
But who's 66 are you: Yours or somebody else's?
(1995 - 2015) had some of the best music ever written in my opinion. Guess my age! There's amazing music in every generation if you take the time to look and listen.
As long as kids are still picking up guitars, new great music will always emerge. Even if its not so easy to get the cigar chomping suits at the record labels to pick it up (But I think it was always like that. Frank Zappa reckoned the reason so much experimental music came out in the late 60s was because the label executives where so confused by modern music, they'd sign anyone who had long hair and looked vaguely bohemian. And some of it was even good. The last time that really happened again was the early 90s when the sift away from the mainstream was so sudden the labels freaked out and signed anyone that looked vaguelly like they brought their clothes at a charity op-shop. And some of it was even good.)
Moral of the story, great music rarely becomes chart topping because the record labels suddenly got good take. Its always an accident of confusion.
You know how rewarding it can be when you stumble upon music that really grabs you? It has been some time but today I am greatly rewarded. How refreshing it is to find truly great artist and music. I am hooked. Had to add an idea. I wonder if they changed slightly the name of the band by adding 19 to the end how they would be remembered? I only thought of it as a way to remember a new favorite band . My memory is going too fast. Too many fires with no air-packs in the old days the doctors tell me.
Every time Covet plays this drummer's happiness saves humanity.

Looks more like a thorazine daze or he's just a taco short of a combination plate. Good drummer though
I don’t know if it’s more fun to believe their drummer was massively tripping balls the whole time or that he has achieved nirvana
i swear i thought the same
Maybe both, he just microdoses shrooms on a daily basis lol
Be is TOO MUCH in control to be trippin. With all that is giong on musically, he is just enjoying it to the maxxx!!!!

There are plenty of other amazing female musicians that I'm sure you've never even heard of. Yvette is a wonderful guitarist, but she's not underrated. There's over a million views on this one video alone.

@@juggernog_consumer This guy gets it! It's like FF9 or in game battle music. I think a game OST would be a cool excuse for them to explore different sounds/styles.

I love how everyone is smiling as they play, I have been listening to Falkor non stop, really love the vibes i get listening to this.

Me too
Chon is great but covet is better imo
Yes it makes the music better knowing that playing it brings them such joy. In other words I think you can hear them smiling even without seeing their faces. Its beautiful and regardless of what the drummer might have um...?partaken in, you can tell that they are doing what they were meant to do in life.
I love every single piece by Covet but there's something about this one that I love the most. It is so chill and so happy sounding that even though I've been listening to it for three months straight now, I haven't even gotten remotely tired of it yet. This is still my go-to song for a happy mood every single day ❤❤❤
definetly one of my favorite songs ever
Saw them open for protest the hero last year. What a pleasure it was. Very talented group
The drummer can attest to the fact that the edibles on set were amazing.
I feel like most bands like this try for an angsty/edgy image, and I love to see these guys just having fun.
Unpretentious and Original is how I would describe this music. What is really cool is how the also talented drummer clearly appears to be a big fan of the groove and Yvette's incremental and highly melodic talents. Her use of the capo, unusual tuning and her ear, born from a classical background in Piano and Violin lend well to the eclectic musical journey she takes her fans on. The sound is huge- would never guess it was only a trio. The rest of the band sounds great too but she is really something special.
I want this drummer guy on my funeral.

This song really shows far far Yvette has come as a songwriter. She was always good but she's on another level now. I think the sections where the music is less hectic and has more space adds a lot to the band's sound, def digging that direction.
The snare roll into drum groove from 5:15-5:43 laid down behind guitar is so freaking dope!!! I absolutely love the drums on this track!!! the whole song is EPIC beginning to end!! Right now though, that segment really just grabs me!
My favorite part of the song!!!!! So much emotion in that segment
Yep, came to the video just to see if I could see the sticking for that part.

This song invokes some serious emotions for me. Everything from tears of sorrow, to healing, bliss, and everything in-between
Back before life got in the way. When life was about them sounds in your ears. I'll revisit this song often.
Man I have never seen the drummer so down, he is usually really happy and smiling at his shows
You play truant, smoke a joint. Good vibes. All of a sudden a girl From Gorrilaz comes to you and asks if you want to be a drummer in a band. You go with her to a beautifully decorated room. You start playing, you've never played drums before but somehow you know how to. You start playing and others join in. The music is so good and everyone is sooo happy. The best Joint of your life.
That's how the drummer looks.
Man I need one of those joints, mine just make me pass out
That was the best backstory anyone could have come up with lol
They are actually creating happy and magical moments.
Literally everything in this video makes perfect sense and is fully inspired by the play styles. The outfits, the camera angles, the expressions, the interactions, and the movement with their instruments is all so well coordinated and planned.
Love the way she incorporates a bit of ''Sea Dragon'' near the end. Fantastic track, superbly played by 3 consummate musicians.
Girl plays clean guitar with her fingers.
Posible extended range.
Bassists plays a 4 strings bass with a pick and distortion.
It's 2019 alright.
It's sounda good tho, i guess
@pinkstarburstpussy thanks Freud
Headless 6 strings require an equally stringed and headless bass I guess. Fuckin 2019
Her root notes are never in his territory so a 5 string isn't really needed. The contrasting tones work well in the mix. We can hear every note from every instrument. I think it's a great combo.
Kinda reminds me of Japanese alternative rock from the 2000s
Dude this is so good. I can explain it, but they’re just pure and honest with their music. They’re not making it pretentious, or seem like they’re trying too hard to be “free-spirited”. They’re just rockin out. They also keep everything so simple while simultaneously having so many layers. They’ve also got inconceivable chemistry with one another. So sick man, and this is the first song I’ve heard from this band
2 years later and this song still instantly makes me smile. Pure joy
It's strange but I hear some Tycho vibe in this song .. that is a great thing !

This group really stepped up to have a new sound and get with the newer aesthetic and social media. While still being math-rock and all that. Its not easy to do that..these guys are killing it.
Stopped by for Yvette's guitar playing. Stayed for the bass player's ability to wear 952 different colors.
Wow... I am purely in love with this song. The way each artists part is complimenting the others, it's just beautiful.
The talent this group has is astounding! And they all seem so passionate and full of joy making music, it’s inspiring really. Amazing
all of them are individually so talented, AND they've managed to craft such amazing musical pieces and sound coherent as a band. beautiful stuff they put out

I love the contrast between fuzzy crunchy sounding bass with clean and lush guitar it works very nicely and it’s great there really is no music out there quiet like this
Perfect counter melodies!
What I like about this piece is that it's very cohesive. It's not like a guitarist with a backing track, it's a full expression! I've listened many times now! Your song is very good!
