The full cut of our session with the sensational progressive rock trio Covet! From September of 2019, released by popular demand, thank you Ryan for putting this together!
@@nathanel2306 just feel like having more noise, different toned crashes and ringing bleeding throughout, would allow for some more flavor. I'm getting a little bit of yamantaka sonic titan vibes from the band, maybe thats why? I dunno, cymbals are cool 😎
Yvette Young is the first guitarist that I have absolutely loved everything from in YEARS. As someone on another RUclips thread said of her (and Covet), "The future of music is in good hands".
Shes great, as is the whole band. For a little while i was getting tired of the prog and mathy instrumental bands but Ilove all their stuff. She also seems like a really cool person. Check out her video on Andertons. You get to see her play, talk about her music and playing and about herself a bit
yep she's something else.. :) very rare for one such as this to appear. the guys are keeping up as well, particularly suitable to be in this band. i might be biassed but god damn it they are shining in this project. the drummer is super fantastic but here he is enjoying it to the max! and the bass player as well. they are all mega vibing with Yvette in the lead
Around 2:55 onwards the drummer is using the hi-hat in such a delicate way and with such control. I haven't played in years, if I'd kept up maybe I could control each limb independently like this master! I hope he knows how good he is. Living the dream dude! Shout out to the bass player too. They're all killin it.
Any idea how? I am thinking single ply tuned white knuckle with maybe a 5mm resonant instead of the usual 3. Snare wire sustain is short at least on this recording
I'm obsessed with this band. They should be headlining sold out international arena tours (but they would have to do a close to 2 hour set). Forrest's chops were on fire and David matching him perfectly. Of course Yvette is in a league of her own as well.
I love it when musicians express themselves with their instruments. Something that you don’t see a lot of musicians do nowadays, no one doesn’t express themselves like that these days. The ones that express themselves are the ones that make the most art in my opinion.
The drummer had me at that shuffle and paradiddle with one hand. Then later all of those sweet harmonious melodies. It is perfection in any direction!🤗🤪🤩
This is one of the sickest/ cleanest/ most skillful Forrest beats right here (and probably the most amazing drum beat I have ever heard): ruclips.net/video/xSxl3KuIBUs/видео.html But I say the entire song (Nero) is amazing and worth listening to: ruclips.net/video/xSxl3KuIBUs/видео.html
That little smile yvette throws Forrest @10:05 😂😂😂 as if he said he's going to toss in a discoey beat in the middle of the song and she said bet you won't lol
I so loved the way they play, they're like little kids enjoying what they are doing. Loved their passion, I wish they play here in Manila after this pandemic.
i'm so extremely happy that this is online on youtube, I've been listening this soooo much. Everyone fits so well together, it's actually incredible. Thank you so much!!
i started following Yvette Young on instagram years ago i wanna say since 2015 i believe here and there and only seen her on instagram but lost her when insta stopped showing me her content and forgot about her but OH MY GOD im loving this? yes
this camera placement is criminal because Forrest's crash obscures his beautiful smile
They did an illegal move
That's what's called, in the business, a "very good drummer".
yeah he's a great drummer, lost count. LOL! he's hella happy; and it's freaking me out.
@@christopher-miles i wish he had more cymbals
@@MEpowder Why?

@@MEpowder This is that artist's flavour. That's like looking at a Picasso painting and saying 'I wish he used more cubes than what he used here.'
The rare case of a guitarist playing finger style and a bassist on a pick. They sound great!
😊

@@fancychannelname cool, the song is still called falkor
@@fancychannelname the song is called Falkor after the luck dragon from A Never Ending Story. Hence why there's another track called Atreyu.
Thnx

@@PaulVRo They are a perfect fit for eachother. So much technique and nuance and SO tight.
She is a musician's guitarist/ instrumentalist, and a technical wizard.
Vehemently agree - she's a very bright light.
That drummer's playing is real puuurdie.
Good thing it didn't get lost in the shuffle.
Don't worry bout them ghost notes
@@IronChef3 Them just rebounds!

The drummer is always in character. Be it live performances or music videos, he is always tripping.
Why do I keep listening to this on repeat?....oh yeah, because it's freaking amazing!
Love the sound of the snare drum, he tuned it perfectly.
looks like a virgil donati signature.

Forest is a beast! That solo at the end of glimmer was so tight!
Am I the only one who appreciates Yvette's little dancing shakes lol, remember when she was in the garage, she's come so far, awesome.
Brrooooo her little sways?! I love that shit
She gets into it, as they all do. And to play this well, with such complexity and nuance so tightly, you have to.

that drummers having the time of his life, his joy is so contagious
keep revisiting this not just for the musicianship, but also the amazing production value. audio sounds great.
It's so warm and their music has so much depth.
It’s so cool watching Covet evolve. Every album is such a solid driving force!
The bass lines in this song are delicious too.
Rumor has it that Forrest Rice got lost in an island for 3 years without a clock and when they found him he knew exactly what the second was.
When you really loved the bridge and want it to be the entire song. Also, that drummer is impressive.
Drummer switching to 4/4 outta nowhere at 10:04 was insane. Incredible set!
That whole section is in 4/4 though
@@ashrasmun1Yep, lol.
Think the switch up to that driving pocket beat along with the bassist changing his groove caught me off guard a bit.
Knew Yvette was great but wow the drum really complimented the songs and has such tasteful arrangements
Very complementary drummer.
So at ease with his craft.
They all are lovely to watch live
I fuckin love this band so much

this is the best - it's amazing how it feels peaceful and powerful at the same time
Absolutely nuts.
I think I could listen to this band play all day! Mesmerizing!!!
This lineup is one of my favorite three-piece bands of all time. Their synergy was amazing.
They are so tight as a unit and the guitar work so soothing.
Fucking amazing performance from all of em but especially the Drummer, Forest, crazy consistent incredible-ness from him! Perfect tuning everytime too
That little smile yvette throws Forrest @10:05 😂😂😂 as if he said he's going to toss in a discoey beat in the middle of the song and she said bet you won't lol
Lmaooo that is hilarious tho
Drummer is having the time of his life! Always smiling :)
I feel completely enchanted by this music. It's gorgeous 😊
9:25 Love the fill and reaction from the band. This is why we love live music.
Wow, my new favorite guitarist artist since discovering Stern back in '88. And what a band, all around fantastic.

Yvette's artistic musicality is phenomenal, the embellishments of phraseology is inspiring. Gifted talent and abilities.
Respect for all that they did 💥🔥 Particularly loved the drummer's feel.
Drum's tone is on point, seriously good mix by the engineer.
Metal fingers 2:20 ❤️. This drummer is insanely good
he was a finalist in the guitar center drum off one year. He's honestly one of the best
Forest is my favorite drummer! Kid is a beast. I'd say he is one of the best on the planet.....
This is insanely amazing and totally thrilling music.

ik! her name is yvette young, she has her own channel and is probably one of the greatest guitarists to ever walk this earth
@@onlyapilgrim okay good because seeing her play for 40 seconds made me want to quit altogether. She’s fantastic

Stanley Jordan, and Eric Johnson. Give them a listen.
so sick
I dont think they realize how cool they are, especially she.
HERNANDET FULL SESSIONS NOW ! YOU KNOW 😎
She never uses a pick. Awesome.
Insta fan ,luv the texture …Groovy
Where's David's shoes at lmao
he never has shoes on lol
I think they do this in part because it's easier on their pedals when they stomp on them
@@Invisible_Difference some pedals are kinda hard to step on lol
maybe he dislikes shoegaze
He plays fretless sometimes, maybe it's the same kinda thing
