This is the sound of a hyper intelligent person who knows how to translate her inner thoughts and experiences into words anyone can understand. What a pleasure to listen to.
This was probably my favorite interview so far. I don't know why, because Lee has indeed interviewed some absolute legends here. I guess watching someone from my own generation who I can truly relate to made it special. Great work Andertons! Yvette is amazing.
I agree, maybe the best interview so far - and I'm nowhere near her generation. She's a fountain of music knowledge and enthusiasm mixed with anything's possible approach. Cool!
I think part of why Yvette is so inspiring is because she's very self-aware about what experiences inform her songwriting and playing. So many excellent players don't know how to verbally communicate very well. She's a very holistically expressive artist.
I'm rarely fascinated by people, but Yvette is one of the most interesting artists I've ever seen on this show. If she comes to Japan I'll definitely check out her live performance.
This is such a great interview. Partly because the Cap continues to improve every time he does one of these, but Yvette is such a fantastic interviewee. I love her honesty and how well in formed she is!
Between her, Ichika Nito, Tim Henson and that whole new generation, the kids coming up have their own guitar influences to look up to. They don't have to be stuck with the same old EVH, Hendrix, Page, Clapton anymore.
As a 19-year-old who loves all the artist you list I would say that these newer wave definitely inspired me to actually learn kind of a kick in the ass telling me that I didn’t know shit because I loved Paige Hendrix Gilmore but never tried learning any of the music and was the basics 16-year-old gate keeper that listens to hard rock but as I got older I started getting into more shit and these virtuosos have definitely inspired me
I’m 29 and have been playing guitar for a few years now. I would say my top three guitarists right now are Tosin Abasi (Animals as Leaders), Aaron Marshall (Intervals), and Yvette Young (Covet).

Great interviewer (well thought-out and engaged questions) and great musician. Yvette (and her band) are a breath of fresh air. Inspires me to play (and play well) more than ever.
It's so lovely to see how unfazed and accepting Lee is when Yvette raises her mental health issues and how that manifested behaviourally and physically. x
Life throws up little miracles. That someone of my advanced years can be so inspired by a person as young as Yvette is wonderful. I was unaware of her before, so thank you Lee.
This is a significant interview with a significant artist. Lee's delight connecting with the thoughtful, articulate, present, and clearly genius Young reminds me a lot of Dick Cavett's conversations with people of that caliber in his day - friendly, playful, striving to let the interviewee tell the most and the best of themselves. Yvette Young now has my attention and my profound respect, as does Lee.

By far my favourite interview on this channel. Part of Yvette's charm is her straight up honesty and willingness to deep dive into non-superficial stuff which is what I'm a major fan of. While I don't think I can tap (no pun intended) into her style, watching her go from strength to strength has been nothing short of incredible. I still haven't gotten around to buying one of her merch shirts yet. =(

An amazing interview. My favourite for sure. I love listening to intelligent and expressive people speak about what they love.......and the Captain, as usual, asked just the right questions. I think he, and anybody who has watched this video could not help but fall a little bit in love with Yvette Young.
Hey that first bit is so great. I was studying Classical Saxophone and Jazz Saxophone in Germany until 2 years ago and the same stuff happend to me! I really liked this interview. One one hand, you have Lee who was like a really supportive grandad, and on the other you have Yvette, an exceedingly talented up and comer. Both of them brought their best, and it showed.
