So if you have to say something bad about any type of game, then at least make your points clear ( and don't make your videos uncomfortable pls)
Well if you’re complaining that the game is too long and ends in screaming and arguing I guess you should just tell people not to buy monopoly, or the game of life, or just tell everyone to cancel family game night while you’re at it, it even says how long the game might be on the box. Also this is a game of strategy, not really laughing fun like cards against humanity, the game never claimed to be anything like cards against humanity

And I think you misunderstood some rules as well... Either way if you want the party to be about you that game will not allow you, this game indeed requires attention but you do get paid back for that attention... With combos, forgetful plaayers and you lauchs at them

You are probably the kind of guy who tryhards in every game they play and when they get beaten cry on youtube how "unfair" some cards are
Great, engaging video. I've been playing this game recently and although it is cute and I like it, my biggest issue with it is that it is not a quick pick-up and play party card game. Since each player can only play one card per turn mobility feels extremely limited, and if you play with a large group of people who know how to play, the game can end up being a slogfest of players preventing each other from winning. I've had one game go on for 4 hours. That's as long as some games of Monopoly and RIsk I've played.
lol wow... my game just arrived today and I'm gonna start with 2 players cuz we're still in a pandemic. I don't think I'd wanna be trapped in a game for 4 hours with 7 other people!

Thanks for sharing your opinion and a well produced video. As someone from the family seeking a "fun cute family game that's a great representative of the genere" what would you recommend? I'm sure there are more families than usual at home and trying to find another Exploding kittens without playing it for the 1000th time in a day. I think a follow-up video may be appreciated by some.

Very interesting perspective on this game.
I personally have a mixed view on it.
It was fun for a while but I thought there wasn't enough action cards that effect upgrades and downgrades. For example, Once someone gets a yay card, there's only 10 cards in the whole deck that can remove that from the players hand. They are basically unstoppable if they have a couple of neighs and that card in their stable. That's when I felt it wasn't fun. It's was just a waiting game to watch them win. We were done after that.
Im going to find a cheap deck of these cards somewhere and even the odds up by adding more destroy and swap cards. That would have made it more interactive and fun in my opinion.
@Ser Kadan I see where your coming from. I haven't seen that scenario play out quite yet. I haven't been able to get the family to play it again in months. They just didn't find it as entertaining.

The game is cool. Bad for parties - agreed. Nobody ever said it’s a party game. It’s a little confusing during the first round, maybe two. But it’s a game to play with an open-minded group of friends that get together somewhat regularly. Or a family. You can also just have 2 players. So, it’s perfect for me and my husband. Always different, depending on what cards you pull. Keeps you thinking ahead all the time. Colorful cute chess for a group of 2 and bigger.

I Bought it a couple weeks ago, plsyed with my family, my friends and everybody loves it, we played till 5 am with my friends and one match lasted 2 hours because my friend had pandamonium and 9 pandas, haha amasing game
I honesty totally disagree with you this is one of my favourite card games. Also you don’t have to wait until the last player is done you can just end the game once someone has all the unicorns they need

Damn these comments are harsh, your review was harsh too, but I felt you had some valid points. And it was entertaining! But I like the game/aesthetic enough that I was thinking about doing an altered deck list to make it more fun.

Well, it's not technically a party game just bc 8 people can play. Party games are marketed as such, and this one isn't. If you're playing with a bunch of people who don't have the attention span for learning a new card game bc they're all tipsy and trying to hook up with each other, then sure, it might not be that much fun. Or if you're playing with a bunch of people who don't care for silly games that require thought. But I am a silly person and my friends are silly, too. I just got my game today and I'm so excited to play, starting with 2 players. I don't think it's going to be my favorite game ever, but hopefully it will be like Fluxx with a rainbow twist for the QTs. I love Fluxx and this game seems similar in concept.
And I think it was probably not a great idea to start playing this with the max # of players, especially if they're all new. This seems like a game good to start off with 2-4 patient players and learn it and then they can teach it to a larger group later. Games are always going to be harder and more tiresome on the first run-through or two as you're still learning the ropes. I imagine it could get tiresome if you have 6-8 people all trying to learn the rules at once. The instructions on the cards are really not that complicated or hard to read, so I strongly suspect that's what actually happened in your game.
Also, I think rainbow capitalism refers to the straights marketing to the QTs, but this game was clearly made by gay men. It's obvious when you look at the NSFW version.

Well I know a crappy opinion when I see one, the game is similar to a party version of Yu-Gi-Oh Magic the Gathering Pokémon TCG in other card games of the like, lots of people play these types of games and for groups of people who play a variety of different games this is a fun way of mixing things up and is also pretty easily accessible. If your friends like to think and strategize this is a great game but if you want something a little more up your alley maybe stick to the number games like Uno or standard playing cards.

Alright, I agree that the game is annoying, I first played it with my friend and he was a sore winner and would rig all the neighs and yay cards to be for him. Whenever I would call it out he would be pissed and threaten to ban me. But when I play it with other people its fun, the way you said it made you look like a jerk. Did you read the tagline.... Youre supposed be enemies, not friends in this, so ofcourse most cards are designed to cancell or subvert other peoples moves. You clearly havent played enough of it, and lost most of your games because youre playing it incorrectly

This was a totally unexpectedly fair and thoughtful review. We bought the entire collection of Unstable Unicorns and all of the expansion packs and decided to play it over the weekend. It's NOT that the game is bad but that it is not a party game or a playful, fun game. It is a serious tactical and strategy game that can grow into hours of such little progress that you just want to stop playing. We played for about 3 hours and because of all of the countering cards, not a single one of us were further along in your win than when we started. It was fun, but not... Fun. Thank you for this review. It's exactly correct.
Troy Tolley You probably shouldn’t have bought all the expansion packs without knowing what you were getting into, bad move on your part. Learn to enjoy the game first and slowly make it better by adding expansion packs one by one, that’s what I did
