    Datto one important thing you missed in the suspend build. Your melee UNRAVELS. And that ALSO spreads. So building into some strength or running the fragment that gives melee energy when damaging things with a tangle (will refund a full melee charge if you throw it at things most times) IS VERY WORTH IT.

    • @Skyflier89

      Definitely! The other thing Arcane Needle is great for is adding range to your poison application - far beyond what Osteo can reach - which is super helpful in higher-difficulty content. • @jordanbrad2298
    @jordanbrad2298 Год назад +7

    The Swarmers' tangle that spawns the threadlings works very well with Thread of Fury. Thread of Fury makes you get Melee energy by doing damage with a tangle. The threadlings that come off of each tangle actually give a ton of energy. If you throw a tangle into a group, not only will it kill the enemies pretty reliably but you can sometimes get 3 charges from 1 throw. If you want to go with Heavy Handed to spawn your orbs, this is not a bad way to go about it considering the amount of tangles you are spawning with this build.

  • @rhys7047

  • @phelan1201
    @phelan1201 Год назад +9

    I really like the grapple variant - if you have orb issues on threadling build. It still makes three threadlings, and the grapple melee counts as charged melee AND grenade damage. You can make two orbs per kill. I don't think the extra two threadlings are worth running threadling grande and consuming, especially since threadling grenade recharges slower. You can get so many threadlings with tangles, rift, etc etc. I also use the fragment that gives you melee energy from tangle damage, since that's an easy way to generate orbs on strand in most content

I was the only one in my friend group to get Forsaken and never completed it because i didn’t really have anyone to play with. Basically fizzled out on the game right as LW came out, haven’t touched it since. I can give you the name of some of the expansions and raids just from what I hear conversationally but that’s all I know about the game over the past 3/4 years.
    For some reason, Im assuming because of lightfall, Destiny content has been all over my RUclips and Twitter feed and it’s piqued my interest. I wanna get back to the grind.
    You’re the only person i trust to guide me back. If there’s a video already i’d love to be pointed to it, otherwise i would never be able to thank you enough for a video along the likes of “so you haven’t touched destiny since forsaken”.
    It’s a selfish request I know, but man i miss this game and miss understanding what the hell you’re taking about.
    If any viewers have a few videos that they think could catch me up if i watch them all i have no qualms with going on a little binge, too. Anything works as long as i feel caught up.

      Lightfall has mixed opinions on it, so if you’re looking to get back into it, maybe look into some reviews. I’d maybe recommend waiting on a sale. All the DLC was 67% off recently, but usually go on sale around the end of March anyway. BYF has videos explaining the story from launch of D1 to lightfall, so you can get caught up. I’d recommend witch queen over lightfall in its current state as the campaign was better. Lightfall is the transition between Witch Queen and Final Shape, and so it doesn’t add much to the story, it just sets the scene. There is a good backlog of things to do though if you get the older expansions. Again, I’d recommend waiting for deep discounts on anything, but if you want something to do now, I’d highly recommend witch queen first.

For instance, it's far more effective than a voltshot Ikelos SMG, one of my favorite all time guns. I took it into the Terminal Overload to try and practice the mechanic and it made it so easy -- just melting all the harpies allowing us (it was just me and my son for a bit and then a third guardian joined us) to get through the boss phases quickly in the final boss. I was assuming I would be a liability during the activity, my son was working on the catalyst for Quicksilver Storm so I thought I'd see what it was all about while he did most of the killing. Nope, I ended up with over twice as many kills as he, typically a better player than me, managed and even with only the two of us for most of the three sections we cleared the activity faster than it usually was taking with 5 or 6 guardians. The grapple to melee combo procs the healing of karnstein without wasting your melee energy. Traveller's is really strong and with its catalyst gives you strand damage on it allowing it to proc unraveling rounds. Combine that with the fragments that reloads everytime you grapple and the damage grenade regen, with travelers intrinsic gives you insane uptime on the grapple. If you play it right you can damage an enemy, grapple into them, spread threading, heal any damage you may have taken, tank any further damage for another few seconds and then wail on enemies with unraveling rounds. Add onto that the mods that spawn orbs with grenade and melee kills, you will get TWO orbs per grapple and melee combo. Throw stacks on stacks and charged up and you have 4 armor charges instantly which gives woven mail making you even more tanky. Throw some grenade Kickstart in there and you are eating good.

    For Hunters: Don't sleep on Manticore. I know it didn't seem great last season, but combine it with Cyrtarachne's Facade and general hunter grapple gameplay and it really comes into it's own. With Woven mail, Manticore Catalyst, and 100 resilience you're looking at 83% damage resist (76% if you're not counting resil). Pair with a recuperation mod and you have effectively infinite health. Manticore also just does some pretty darn good damage and this season gets volatile rounds from the artifact. You need to move around and don't like how slow manticore makes you? Just grapple away, and get woven mail in the process.

Combine that with reaper and a siphon mod and you will be swimming in orbs as long as you grapple onto tangles. In this case I would use utility kickstart instead of grenade kickstart as you should be grappling tangles most of the time to keep looping it.

    also using melee in tandem with striga is actually better than using striga on its own, because the melee does the same thing striga does, and also procs unraveling, which just increases the dot by a ridiculous amount. this build is honestly stupid lmao, its too good.

    For the Necrotics Strand build, I prefer to go all into my melee/grapple melee. It's like, empirically worse than suspend osteo, but its really fun, y'know? Who knew that the chaining DoT debuff(unravel) would work really well with the chaining DoT debuff(poison). I run grenade kickstart + stacks on stacks and stacked up, but with full strength. With that and thread of generation discipline becomes an actual dump stat and I can still spam grapples all day. Firepower and heavy handed both work for grapple melee, granting 2 orbs every grapple smack, plus 1 or 2 more when the necrotics get a kill after the cooldown. I'm still running 100 strength however, and for good reason. Whimsically flicking a green sparkle sparkle into a group of enemies with a bubbly smile on my face and a *teehee!* escaping my lips only to afflict my opponents with GIGA-LIGMA^2 never gets old, the melee animation for only spending 1 charge is so funny to me.

    I've been having a ton of fun running Strand as a Spider Man grapple melee build, myself. I run Woven Mail from Orbs of Power, slot mods to max out my Grenade Energy generation and generate Orbs of Power with grenades, and then fly around grapple meleeing stuff to explode it. It's relatively competent boss DPS, pretty much 1 shots entire packs of majors and red bars, and is wildly fun. If I'm in more difficult content, I might slap on Karnstein's for self healing, but typically I'm running Necrotic Grips, as they trigger off your Grapple Melee. So flying into a pack of enemies and Grapple Meleeing sets off a huge chain reaction of Necrotic Grip explosions.
    With that build, at the end of Seasonal Battlegrounds I'm typically sitting at upwards of 280+ Kills per battleground.

Yes.. it still uses the Necro Grips - but heyo - the grips are what makes Striga "surpreme".

    Osteo + Grips build is really only potent due to the fact it synergizes with the base warlock strand kit so well. and you can run the build without either grips or striga and it'll still go pretty well. Its a rather low investment. You can run zero fragments and Osteo + Striga will still carry broodweaver. I don't think it should get nerfed as warlock has limited access to suspend and Osteo + Grips are just doing its intended design for add-clear. Onto Threadlings.......
    I'm disappointed with Threadlings. At base Threadlings just do damage and that's it. They have ZERO synergy with strand verbs at base. I at the very least expected Threadlings to have built in verbs for a subclass named BROODWEAVER, the warlock sublcass Bungie hyped up to be a summoner and a Threadling master as its specialty. But at release they're just weak,and a dumb AI if you want to buff the Threadlings you HAVE to invest 2 fragments and an exoctic slot JUST to give Threadlings the ability to interact with ONE strand verb and a somewhat consistent loop since tangles themselves have a LONG cooldown that ruins the flow for Threadling Broodweaver. As of now Threadlings really offer nothing
    Berserker Titans offer Suspend and Woven mail to a fireteam, which gives berserkers huge team support value. And thats just base Berserker with no exotics. Mixing in exotics just boosts the value even further. They're base design is pretty good
    Threadrunner offer unlimited grapple points and suspend + Sever, they greatly enhance other strand subclasses gameplay loop and allows Threadrunner to move around the map with vicious mobility and speed. Equiping that fragment that reloads tor weapons after using a grenade ability with their forever grapple points gives them huge DPS potential with their weapons. Their base design is pretty good
    Broodweaver offers? Threadlings that do okay damage when players already have other more better options for damage focused builds? Its a hard ask to build into Threadlings when Osteo/Grips, Starfire, Osiomancy, Devourlock offers much much better generalized value in any given fireteam... and for a subclass that aims to take full advantage of a summoner identity, bungie missed the mark hard in my opinion which is a let down as I was excited mainly for the summoner fantasy.
    What if the Swarmers exotic armor reduces the cooldown of spawning tangles which allows much higher uptime of Threadlings? And creating more tangles for your team to use that greatly boost the loop of other Strand players?
    What if Weavers call Aspect has another function were upon casting a rift and damaging combatants while in your rift steadily spawns threadlings? And if those Threadlings damage targets gives you rift energy? And equipping the empowering rift also boosts the damage of those Threadlings?
    What if Broodweaver's Threadlings had extra functionality at base since its their identity? Like being more aggressive and smarter? Or killing debuffed targets spawns Threadlings? Or when out of combat you slowly generate Threadlings out of thin air? Or Threadlings Sever targets in an AOE explosion giving them a unique control role?
    What if there's an alternative class ability option where you sacrifice equipping your Rifts to rip into the Cosmic Web and create a big webbed mass of strand matter that spews out Threadlings in waves to seek out potential targets and over time this web collapse into a tangle if not destroyed? These are just merely ideas
    TLDR; If Threadlings want to be good, they need to have synergy with strand verbs at base. I'm hoping Broodweaver gets another aspect that severely beefs up Threadlings from cosmic kittens into Eldritch Predators

  • @frauasyl
    @frauasyl Год назад

    I would just like to say that I think thread of warding is a horrible choice for warlock. The 10 seconds on woven mail after an orb pickup does not help your survivability enough in endgame to make a difference. And anywhere but endgame, you can survive just fine with the two orb healing mods on legs and then 70 resilience. Most things are going to be dead before they can kill you anyways.
    Personally I went for fury, propagation, evolution, and generation. For stats I went 30 mobility, 70 resilience, 100 recovery, 30 discipline(dead stat because of thread of generation), 70 intellect(the super is amazing which is not common for warlocks), and 60 strength(gains from fury scale off of your strength stat but seem to have diminishing returns).
    The weak points of broodweaver is definitely survivability. But at current there is really no way to fix that besides just...idk. Getting better I guess. I'm fine with warlocks not having real access to woven mail though, but I'd really like to have an extra effect added to weaver's call that either regens health or regens rift energy because the only way I have to regen rift energy at current is 1. Waiting. And 2. Dealing damage with my melee for focusing strike.
    As for weapons I just use what I always use. Quicksilver, inquisitor, and hothead.
    This subclass is a glass cannon, but it is not extremely aggressive like datto is putting it. That will not work in endgame. Most people will find more success with a suspend build because it is safer, but it deals an extremely low amount of damage compared to the threadling build. But I much prefer the threadling build.

    I don’t know what it was like when you made the video but there are too many to brand weapons now to waste a fragment to reload your grenade launcher. My grenade launcher reload it, so I switch to it when I want to clear a mob but I’ve already it’s already loaded. Hi, I cleared the mile bridge it runs out. I just switch weapons again when I come back to it later and reload it And I’m using a Void welapon in the energy fly pet does the same thing all actually I think avoid weapon I’m using God every time I pick up a power Brett I have ammo brick hello fat weapon or maybe a text out that I don’t know I’ve got my head I don’t know I just know reloading your weapon. Who’s mad at you just you want it I don’t know why people make a big deal about it except in PvP it’s not a huge issue duck behind some thing reload your weapon invitation a while use your fragments for something that actually helps your bullshit faster or control the battlefield

    It'd be so funny to me if every single warlock aspect was centrered around threadlings.
    I'd LOVE a slide melee that makes a bunch of threadlings behind you when you use it and just using it three times in 5 seconds and having 12 threadlings behind me
    I'd also love an aspect that made killing a strand debuffed enemy make a threadling with a cooldown after making a few like ice flare bolts
    I'd also love one that just made threadlings just fly through the air like when they leap and deal more damage(damage only in PvE them just being faster would be enough for pvp) at the cost of no aoe
