    Am I the only one who prefers New Vegas over F3? It was way moodier, the story was better, the dlcs were great.

      I dont think it is. Fallout 3 had more super mutants, the brotherhood and enclave has a bigger presence, Washington was more fun to explore and i love alllll the DLC's but i hate the ones for New Vegas

      @wafflegames8532 9 лет назад +5

      I agree, but I hated the New Vegas DLC, most of them at least. Dead Money was honestly my least enjoyable Fallout experience in the history of Fallout.

    FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PEOPLE.... STOP WITH THE COMPLAINING. Please understand this is how they do their podcasts. I'm definitely a fan of the hour long podcasts, because it's informative and you get to hear the opinions of most of the members of Funhaus. If you're going to complain about how long the podcasts are, don't watch it. They do gaming news on "THE KNOW" so if you want to see that go over there and if you're waiting on gameplays they said "Be Patient" they're still moving stuff around. I'm just gonna simplify all this by saying "You must be new here".

    • @dedpxl
      @dedpxl 9 лет назад +3

      jesus, is this an RT this to spout "stop complaining" over and over? there's barely any comments and about 4 of them are complaining about complaining.
      I'm just pointing out that this didn't happen on Inside Gaming.

    • @YSRGAMES
      @YSRGAMES 9 лет назад +4

      You didn't read the entire comment. Please don't start an argument about the technicality of "how many" people were complaining.

      While that would be awesome I don't think it would fit into the lore. Those were probably high priority bomb sites because of the population and demoralization. However you could argue that they would want to keep the historical and cultural values of the cities I don't believe the Russians and Chinese at the time would have cared as much about those values as they would killing capitalists and Americans.

    I've put thousands of hours into Fallout 3. I was young and in middle school when that game came out, I'd never heard of the Fallout series. It was and still is my absolute favorite game. The game was expansive, large and so easy to put yourself in the shoes of your character.
    I've been dying for a new Bethesda style fallout game for years.
    I enjoyed New Vegas with all of the new options, mechanics and quirky humor. Skyrim was enjoyable but the combat grew very tedious very quickly. The combat in Fallout 3 and new Vegas aren't the most immersive either, but I always felt a little panicked and skittish whenever an enemy would come into your face. At the higher difficulties, that higher leveled enemies can obliterate you quickly determined how I played.

    The quest markers were exactly the same between Oblivion and Skyrim, the former having introduced them to the series, and the quests definitely got shittier between the games. Setting aside the generic "infinite" fetch quests, the Guild quests were cut-down by about a quarter in volume _and_ depth, and a lot of the proper side quests in Skyrim were essentially the same as the Misc. ones.
    There were a few standouts, mostly the Daedra quests and the meta quests from the Thieves' Guild, but in almost every aspect aside from graphics/aesthetics and the non-Stealth melee combat, Skyrim was a step down from Oblivion. It sold more, of course, but that's not an indicator of its appreciable quality so much as its marketability.

      I most certainly agree. I still think Morrowind was the best in my own opinion. It felt much larger and the idea of walking from one place to the other for sure was annoying at times till you could learn to teleport from one place to the other but thats what made it special, you never knew what cave or ruin you would have encountered and it made you wanna explore it.
      Plus I think Morrowind had better Guild quests out of the other two, you actually had to have skills that the faction used in order to advance and on the side of Oblivion an Skyrim they sort of just advance you for the hell of it.

    • @peterwm234
      @peterwm234 9 лет назад

      ***** morrowind had the morag tong, which instantly makes it better than oblivion and skyrim.

    • @GOAT-rl2uq
      @GOAT-rl2uq 9 лет назад +1

      They definitely went downhill when it came to the side quests in Skyrim. That was probably my biggest gripe with the game. I mean I still love it, but in terms of the depth and volume of the side missions, Morrowind was head and shoulders above Skyrim. Even Oblivion, my least favorite of the three modern TES, did sidequests MUCH better than Skyrim.

    • @DestructiveSlayer
      @DestructiveSlayer 9 лет назад

      GOAT
      Exactly, Morrowinds quests felt it had more depth, hell their were more guilds in the game then the latter two and each of them had a ton of quests to offer, a few even had choices where you could wipe out an entire guild completely (example in the fighters guild you could choose to take out the whole thieves guild or do the same for them as well) and thats what made it so interesting, its what made it a favorite to a lot of people.

    I don't want online or coop in fallout 4!
    A fallout multiplayer only game will be cool though. Having players pick certain classes (raiders, traders, beggars, hunters, explorers, ghouls, etc) or maybe they can dynamically change depending on the player actions (if a player kills innocents he will be know as a raider, if he get irradiated he can turn into a ghoul, that will be quite awesome. Everything will be constantly changing, you will have new fractions popping up and being destroyed, settlements battling for land, players can enlist for the brotherhood of steel or enclave and fight in epic wars! Maybe add some modding and the possibility's will be endless!
    One major problem the fallout games had; is that they required the player to progress the story and feuds. If you wait a week in fallout 3 or new vegas nothing will happen, maybe a few random wanderers will get killed but all settlements will look the same. same npcs, same dialogue, etc. but with human players its a totally different ball game!

    All I remember about Fallout is playing New Vegas and having a quest at the very beginning to collect some mushrooms glitch out on me so I couldn't progress any further and it would happen every save. Aside from the merciless pruning they gave side quests in Skyrim, my biggest gripe is the combat. Particularly when using big twohanders, it just feels like you are swinging at air until your opponent falls down. The enemies don't react properly to getting hit and there is no real sense of impact. I still love Skyrim, but in terms of the combat, I felt that Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2 are head and shoulders above it. Actually, if we're talking first person melee, my favorite combat system in that category BY FAR is Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Nothing even comes close to being as visceral as that.
    If TES 6 brings back the high volume and depth side quests from previous TES games and fixes the "floaty" combat, it would probably be close to perfect in my mind. Well, TES 6 is still a long ways off anyhow.

    • @adino20
      @adino20 9 лет назад +1

      if chivalry's combat system makes it's way into TES: 6 my head would explode. Also, if you play on pc there is at least one mod that gives weapons a "weightier feel" and gives them a sense of impact when they strike something. 100% worth the download.

      xXRedZephyrXx The real time swing manipulation was part of the reason Chivalrys combat was so amazing in my opinion, but I agree that it definitely lead to some problems (i.e. instant overheads with pole weapons). That being said, I think that system still has a LOT of potential.

    I don't want to grind. I want to go to a location, that is unique and has an interesting history to it, kill some enemies, whose difficulty correlates with the quality of the loot inside. I don't want to repeatedly go to the same location(that isn't memorable), with lots of "friends", killing the same number of enemies over and over again, just for weapon that has no association to the location. That was the issue with destiny (for me), and would ruin the compelling, eerie feel found in fallout.

    Wait so James you don't want an overwhelming world and large maps you can explore with tons of quests and things to do? If you don't wait that go play another game because there are tons of other liner small 15 hour games and the all the things you say you don't want are the reasons these games are so popular. Clearly huge open world RPG's aren't your thing. Fans of Skyrim and Fallout don't want smaller they want bigger with lots of stuff, That's why mods are so popular in those games because people want as much as possible out of the product they buy so for you to say you want a smaller game with less quests is stupid just play small RPG's like Shadow of Mordor or Far cry 4. While I spend 5 times more hours then both of those combined playing the new Fallout.

    I'd like Fallout 4 to be the core Fallout experience, with new and old ( Fallout 3 and New Vegas ) elements. It has to a big setting, with a big story, and plenty osf side quests. However, something they could do is introduce a seamless 3-4 player multiplayer, where other survivors can join you and play through the story with you. The co-op would be completely optional, and nothing would require you to be in co-op.

    Fallout 3 is considered to be the worst in the series, because of how limiting it was compared to the original first two and New Vegas when it came to choices in quests and just general freedom, it also didn't help then the story was pretty much a straight linear line which you had very little effect on while let's say New Vegas you can pretty much do whatever you please like murdering every person that's related to the main quest if you want to, while in FO3's main story you had a ton of people who are just invincible. and didn't let you do what you wanted. Choices in Fo3 were usully either 1: Stupidly evil , 2 : Neutral or 3: Good while in FO1,2 and New Vegas you would end up in situations where you'd have 6(or more) choices that would actually make you think and a lot of them were very different from one and another, you can pretty much go thru New Vegas fighting for one side to the very end and than backstab them completely and take the city for yourself.
    Now onto the topic of Skyrim, some of the things the funhaus crew said in podcast were rather dumb, they're pretty much asking all games to hold their hands all the time and always guide them and that's not good at all. Games should not patronize and hand hold gamers all the time, you have to let go sometimes,let players figure things out on their own if you tell someone everything then there's no sense of discovery and adventure anymore. If you give up on a game because you made a single mistake and couldn't handle the fact than then the mistake was caused because of you, than why are you even playing video games ? Iv'e been following Adam and his crew for a long time, ever since the old days of Inside Halo and i find the crew to be a lot of fun when they're doing play thrus of of terribles games like Chaser or just fucking around in GTA 5 but everytime i try to listen to their podcasts i just cringe and facepalm over and over. I think I'll just continue sticking to their fun content since that's what they're best at.

      Who said Fallout 3 was the worst in the series? I thought almost universally F3 is considered the best or at least better than NV. The one thing that consciously irked me was a closed out map design in the DC area where exploring from point a to point b is more of a maze then a organic stroll like in NV.
      That being said there was something about NV that made me want to play several times over whereas I had to force myself to go back to F3 to see what I missed. I have beaten Fallout 3 once, Fallout NV many times and played maybe 5-6 hours of Fallout. (I did not hate it either. I just kinda stopped playing after a bit). Out of the 3, fallout 3 was the least novel experience.

    • @saulgoodman612
      @saulgoodman612 9 лет назад +5

      sure the missions were better in nv than 3, but the thing that made fallout 3 so good was its map and how fun it was to explore, and how immersive it was with its gloomy theme

    If fallout 4 is anything like destiny I would kill myself. There is no need to add ANY kind of multiplayer to the fallout franchise. When Laurence and Bruce started talking about destiny style raids for gear in one of my last remaining beloved franchises I almost rage quit the podcast. I as well as many of you play a game like fallout for the atmosphere and excellent setting, not some monotonous half assed social grind fest.
    I also disagree with James about making the game accessible along the lines of shadow of mordor by condensing goals. He clearly stated that he does not enjoy games like Skyrim and Fallout 3/NV, and that is fine but many people do, I hold the franchise to very high standards and I think a person who doesn't care for it should not want a near masterpiece (imo) changed fundamentally just to fit their criteria of an enjoyable experience

Also, I recommend playing New Vegas with mods, I have heard there are quite a few crazy ones. Love you guys, especially the underrated Spoole.

    "Morrowind and oblivion were really similar" No. Just fucking no, you freaking moron.

    •  9 лет назад

      Pretty much all of Lawrence complaints are fixed by mods, including the mouse thing, and auotsaving.
      Honestly without mods, these games would be unplayable, so I've no clue why they don't get into modding. A lot. Every change Bethesda has made so far, beyond graphics, and animations, has been awful. Nothing but simplification for morons to enjoy, and they speak of them as if they are somehow improvements.
      "Hey, check out how in each game, we remove more and more features, isn't that an improvement!?"

    • @athest7
      @athest7 9 лет назад +5

    • @432neptune
      @432neptune 9 лет назад +2

      Wicker _ So what you're saying is that the game isn't good, and can only be good of it's fixed by modders. I think that sounds correct for the most part.

    I can see two good ways to do it. On one side, they could have two different big cities, like New York and Boston. Basically, you could cross through the area, but all of Connecticut and Rhode Island could be this lawless area where other characters come in and you can have PVP or whatever. The other thing I could see is something like a battlefield on the map. You can join a side, like the NCR or BoS, and they'll say, "hey, there's a battle at X." So you go to X and you're in a battle with this other side, and all or many of the fighters are other players whom were also informed of this fight.
    Thinking of it now, you could have a Co-op game where once you've established your character and left the vault or whatever, you can invite friends. From there, you could play together and things like conversations or the targeting could take place in real time.

    I've been reading the Shadowrun Books as of late and I've been noticing that the premise of Jupiter Ascending is extremely and excruciatingly similar to that universe, keep in mind that I'm talking about a book series that is ongoing and that has been going strong for little less than 20 years, so yea compacting a universe that wide and expansive into a 2 hour and maybe even less movie sure sounds like a huge hodge-podge of unresolved plot points. I say it would've been nice to see what it could have been if it was broken into 3 movies of a good run time.

    For Fallout 4 MP, my idea has always been simple. Just like that one mod for Fallout 3, and Oblivion. Another player can enter your world to play two player co-op by taking control of your companion at the time. Simple and fun. You get all of the single player glory you want, but can still play with your friends. You know you want to be someone's Lydia.

    Just after 48:50 Adam says, "Hitman: Dead Money," which is interesting, considering that it doesn't exist. I'm not criticizing, don't get me wrong- I simply find it interesting because Dead Money is an expansion for Fallout: New Vegas and the Hitman game he's referring to is Blood Money. I just think its cool how that flub happened since both Hitman and Fallout were on his mind.
