BestStart64 He is sitting behind the cameras on a throne of old desktops and a crown of old computer mice, with his regular face, and all of the regular cast we know are actually extremely scared of what he is thinking the whole time. Kind of like Caesar using his thumbs up or thumbs down in order to sentence someone to life or death.
I like the way you guys handle backlash. I feel like you'll always get negative comments no matter what you report on. I took it as a very interesting topic and I enjoyed seeing you guys talk about the possibility during this podcast.
Zero Regen Its not even that. People refuse to acknowledge that a decision, or arguement is two way street, and neglects the other persons point of view to spite, or out of pure self righteousness. Because as human beings people have a way of only really seeing themselves when interject socially. That isn't necessarily bad because that is how we are hardwired fundamentaly, but its up to you to learn yourself, and then also train yourself to understand others around you a bit better, and not give into to being a selfish asshole. No body like those. Only then will actually ever "win" anything.
Sassy Potato I for one am a Fallout fan, and it does hurt me a little inside to see people hate on it who have not played through even half a single fallout game (as I believe none of them have, which they discussed previously). It's a game you have to play to understand, and you have to admit a LOT of the trailer was hype directly as callbacks to previous Fallout games. So to appreciate them and get a feel for the trailer, you had to have played those games. Not saying you can't enjoy the trailer without those experiences, but to judge a particular scene and say, "That moment in the trailer was dumb." might be ill informed if you didn't understand the reference to, say, Fallout 3 that it eluded to a couple times. I'm not going to be one of those fans that hates and dislikes their video because of a dissenting opinion, IN FACT I think they will all say they enjoyed it (did you see Adam's tweet saying take my money and shoving dollars into the screen linking to the trailer?). But even if they did hate on it, I would hope it would be for legitimate concerns and not a lack of understanding. Hope I came off not as pushy or a fanboy, even though I definitely am self admittedly haha :P.
Sassy Potato There is plenty wrong with Fallout, just like there is plenty wrong with Halo. What I am in love with is the _potential_, the _concept_ of both franchises, but past iterations of both of the series fall short in one category or the other. Halo 3 probably had the most boring campaign in the franchise besides the Scarab battles, and Fallout 3 felt very isolated and empty. Plus the stupid color filters made everything look green and dull. Which is why I am excited for both Halo 5 and Fallout 4, who both seem to have alleviated both issues from what we've seen.
I think it's because I'm so easily entertained and interested, that I tend to have a really open mind to things, like the Silent Hills rumor. I think it would be cool to have the franchise be revived, regardless of who owns it. It's better than not having it. I just think it's easy to get angry on the internet and it's easy to get swept away into the crowd of people disliking something. Just as many other things, if the game does release, people will love it or hate it regardless of who makes it. And please tell Matt Peake to settle down, he's getting a little riled up.
NinjaPups I wish a Bayonetta-esque thing would happen with Silent Hill. If Sony doesn't want it, I'm just hoping anyone will. Regardless of console. I want that game made, so that I can bathe in its unholy gloryholes.
I always find Lawrence's arguments enjoyable to listen to. The neat manner he matches phrases with one another combined with the information he conscientiously prepares for the show are the very reason I go back to Dude Soup every week. One also couldn't not mention his own solid argumentation when discussing subjects on the podcast - for instance presenting the point about Silent Hill being now a transmedia phenomenon/franchise is for me at least a top-notch observation. Maybe it is only me finding the content enjoyable and interesting as a non-native English speaker. Nonetheless, I couldn't help sharing my postive feedback with you guys. Keep up the good work and always, but always respect Lawrence.
I really hope the silent hills rumor comes true so that Funhaus can blast it in everybodys face that they were right haha. Also I just want to play silent hills :(
Microsoft has denied rumors in the past and then they turned out to be true. Could just be messing with us (hopefully). There's so much hype behind PT I really don't think this project will die out, if Microsoft doesn't pick it up I'm sure it's just a matter of time before someone else will.
headknocker2020 Well yeah but the whole rumor about Microsoft buying the Silent Hill franchise for 1 billion? The franchise isn't even worth near 500 million so it was obvious that the rumor was false. Also to me the project (Silent Hills) is dead, with no Hideo Kojima and no Guillermo del Toro it will be very hard to top what those two did with P.T.
Veltra111 You do realize that the current franchise worth isn't everything, right? The Funhaus gang talked about that on the podcast, if you even bothered to watch it before commenting.
Just a thought for the dude soup podcast RUclips posting. In the description, do you think you could put the title of the game Adam plays during the discussion? Some of them have been appealing, and I'd like to find more info about them. Thank you
I actually really admire that you guys answered the "click bait" question on the video thumbnail, showing that you care more about the actual video content than just getting views. I know this is how you've always really felt but still having a thumbnail that supports that takes guts and goes a long way for a fan like me. You rule!
I don't comment on videos very often, but since I've started watching you guys (I'm a big fan of AH and Roosterteeth, and now you and them are the bulk of what I watch on youtube) I've been more motivated to want to comment, because of the way you guys choose to interact with your audience and critics. You guys are very careful about what you say and you always tend to handle negativity in a intellectual way, and I really like that about you. I don't even follow gaming news and stuff very closely, in fact your channel is basically the only place I get it. Anyways, I felt like I should let you guys know how I appreciate all those things and send some love your way, especially amidst all this turmoil ;)
I've been watching you guys for a while, and I absolutely love your normal funny banter and jokes, but this podcast has to be one of my favourites, just wanted to congratulate you guys on the amount of professionalism that you approached this with, everyone's going to get backlash, but the way you handled this was really well done, absolutely love you guys!
Always hesitant to comment on anything but I just realized why I love the podcast so much. Of course you guys always have your thing of fucking around with filming, but I feel the podcast is when you guys get to totally relax and not care about having to be funny and entertaining, but genuinely discuss a topic. So great. Always something I look forward to for the week.
I really like having more people in a pod cast. It brings out more opinions and thoughts about the topics you discuss. I would like more podcasts like this one
Thy MetalMan Silent Hill 2 still lives on as the best psychological horror game and one of the best survival games. The game was released over 10 years ago. To top that, Guillermo Del Toro and Hideo Kojima were working on this project together. It was too good to be true.
Filo Pilo That's half the problem to me... If the game would have actually released, I have the feeling that a whole shit ton of people will be let down... It wouldn't have been another Downpour or Homecoming more than likely, but the amount of hype for it is staggering...
i love how your videos are usually just ridiculously hilarious editing and corny/dumb comedy but the dude soup podcasts are just an amazing knowledge trip. i used to be all about Achievement Hunter but i think im turning over to see you guys now.
My first time commenting on the podcast and I just want to say I am glad I found a group of people I enjoy watching and following week after week for the past four years. Thanks guys for keeping me entertained.
I want to thank you guys for the amount of effort you put in every day. As a long time RT fan I was quite set in the kinds of videos I watched but you guys broke the mould as it were and I love your diversity, especially in the podcasts where you aren't afraid to talk about what interests you. I doubt you'll find this comment but I just wanted to thank you anyway. Keep up the good work :)
What blows my mind is PS4 fanboy's would rather something die then be brought back if it mean't that they can't use it. That's childish, "if I can play with it then you can't either nananan". DEAL WITH IT. Watch it on youtube! Like most of you little boys were going to do anyway. I don't think people were mad because you guy's were lying I honestly believe it was these Sony boys upset that they don't get to play with their toys. If Sony reported they were bringing it back they would be fine SO HAPPY, but since it's not their BIG DADDY who is saving their precious franchise their angry
Kaine Parker The difference is there's more of them (PS4 users) than us (XB1 users) so in essence you would have the current situation on the internet in general of a overwhelming wall of derp from disgruntled PS4 owners who hate anything and everything Microsoft for no more reason than 'cause. Don't get me wrong XB1 has it's fair share of fanboys but they get drowned out in all the sh*t thrown between the two consoles fanbases.
I'm fairly new to the Fun Haus fan base-I have never seen an IG video-and I love the personalities at play here. Specifically, I love how James' down to Earth cynicism and relative bluntness provides a sort of "cut to the chase" attitude. It's nice to see people not pussy foot around issues and address them as they arise.
I honestly don't think you guys needed to explain yourselves but I'd like to thank you I have always trusted and respected your opinions even if some times I didn't agree with and even then that's rare. I don't normally do any comments on RUclips but like I said I just wanted to say thank you for explaining yourselves even though you where repeating yourselves sometimes but if anything my trust for you guys has grown as it just shows that you guys really care about your fans and viewers and that's nice. It's one of the main reasons why I watch all your stuff even since the early days of inside gaming you all seem genuine and human and sometimes (for me anyways) that some youtubers I watch don't seem human enough and I think that's to do with the bro-ness you have going on BANTER WITH DA LADS type things anyways like most people at one point in there lives want to express their opinion on the internet and that's what I wanted to do today just to say thanks and keep up the fantastic brilliant work.....also I am THE GREEDY GREMLIN who did some awesome art work for you sexy lads last year just thought I'd drop that in there! ;) take care guys! P.s sorry for my gramma and spelling I'm English man with dyslexia it's a bad mix. Lol
A lot of respect for them sticking to their guns on this despite (or in spite of) getting a ton of shit. Whether they're right or wrong (and I hope they're right - at this point in time despite being a Playstation person I'd be happier to see Silent Hills alive and on Xbox than dead and forgotten, not on the basis of what it used to be but on the basis of what it looked poised to become again with Koj at the helm - anything ranging from a genre to a medium changing series depending on what else they had in store apart from the ground breaking idea of a playable teaser in an age of trailers) they're not backing down and that deserves props. They reported a rumour as a rumour, but somewhere along the line critics decided they'd said it was gospel truth. Most people in their situation would merely apologise and move on to avoid the notion of having enemies within the industry your livelihood revolves around. I'm happy that they haven't. As much fun as the day to day dick joke fuelled mayhem of Funhaus is, it's always really cool to see these guys get their serious game journalist on. I think it's what really sets the team apart from AH. It's not just the editing style, it's the ability to be reporters as well as entertainers. That's not a shot being fired at AH, to me it's just the defining difference. One can always make me laugh, the other can make me laugh and make me think.
I always look forward to your guys podcast, I had school until 2pm, marching band practice from 2:30-5, then work from 5:30-9:30, and still have homework to do. I sat down at my desk, opened my browser, and saw that it was after 8, and I immediately said "it's after 8... That means podcast!!!"
"When you are thesaurusing and trying to pick the most obscure and smart word that you can, you are writing for yourself and not for your audience". On using "smart words": I think it is perhaps unfair to presume that when writers other than yourself are using words and phrases that are beyond your comprehension (Or my own - or anyone else for that matter) that they are being deliberately pompous, condescending and esoteric. Just because I may not get a handful of words or terms when I read certain articles or essays (Or when I listen to videos such as this when you guys regularly discuss gaming engines, operating systems and other computing terminology for example) doesn't mean that they - or you - are doing it to feel smarter, make the audience feel dumber or to show off. Some people are simply more accustomed to certain words, terms and phrases than others. Personally I get excited when learning new terms and words. It's difficult to gauge when language is unnecessarily complex and even more so when trying to figure out the motive behind its use. On writing for yourself versus writing for the audience: As Adam said a few minutes later: "We get nerdy and nitty-gritty and talk about stuff that probably most people won't be interested in but it interests us and I think we've found an audience that does like it". In the same way you guys make content that you guys enjoy and are interested in (And get like-minded people to watch), that reporter - regardless of how much of a twat he sounded (And he really did sound like a twat) - he can also write for himself and make content he enjoys and his audience (presumably) are like-minded people. At any rate, you guys are fucking great and always have interesting discussions. Keep up the good work!
TheGroucho66 I've not read the article in question so I can't really comment on the diction used in it, however, when you're a journalist you should be catering towards your audience. If your audience consists primarily of what? 14-25 year olds? Then your choice of language should match that. It's not just a case of knowing the words and being able to use them correctly, it's also a case of your readers being able to understand and correctly interpret those words. I'm sure Laurence knows plenty of words that would make you wonder what the fuck he's saying.
***** But who is to say who understands what words? Would it not be condescending to say "I'm writing for 14-25 year olds - best dumb down what I'm writing because none of them will understand my clever words". There was nothing in the article that I didn't understand and I'm 23. I suppose my point here really is that people always think that their own level of comprehension is the universal level and that anything below it is objectively too dumb and anything beyond it is too pretentious when really we should just accept that we all know different things. I know shit-all about computing but I don't call those that talk about it pretentious but instead I look up the terms and learn. Anti-intellectualism isn't something to boast. But, as we can all agree, the article was fucking annoying.
Its funny getting all this backlash. Yet you have sites lie N4G, IGN and Kotaku where about 25% of "their articles" are links to other peoples articles or a youtube video that somebody else created. Then they don't even put their own word or opinion in, just a title and a link. Hilarious.
KronicKillaz If that's all it takes to be a "game journalist" then I'm in. On 2nd thought I would probably take too much pride in my job and want to give meaningful content.
The things you were saying about how people always look back at something, once it happens, and say 'of course!' (like Hitler invading Poland) is actually a part of our psychology as humans. Its usually called Hindsight Bias (you may have heard the phrase "Hindsight is 20/20" and this is the same idea). We tend to feel as though we had the ability to see something coming, even though we didn't, and it seems obvious afterwards. It also has to do with Confirmation Bias, which is more of only paying attention to the things that prove what you want, not the things that contradict it. Now I could go into symbolic logic and syllogisms and fallacies, but that would honestly probably just waste your time :) I love your guys' videos and you have a very mature and intellectual way of approaching these types of issues and conversations, and I appreciate a lot, its really refreshing.
Hey guys just wanted to say a big thank you to the whole team. I've been at home healing from spine surgery and a mate linked me to your videos to give me something to watch. I've just finished your entire catalogue and it has been an invaluable source of entertainment. Love your work :)
"There isn't any digging going on" James you are great. Not afraid to speak your mind, and hit hard truths. Stuff like this and in the comments show when you said "Microsoft doesn't give a shit about you ..." And so on. This is a really cool dynamic about you. Don't lose it. It adds some flavor and a change of pace from the other guys who are slightly more cautious. And I use the word slightly lightly. They other guys usually don't give a shit, but are careful not to stroke the fire that is the internet's rage. James on the other hand, really doesn't care. He tells the Internet to kindly go penetrate a hole in the toilet paper with their fingers and be happy about it. Keep up the good work guys. Keep being different and funny and you will have my attention.
I really love at the end when you guys were talking about Colin Campbell complaining about Rock Band 4. You guys are extremely humble, honest, and on top of that hilarious I personally think you guys are the best at what you guys do. I have been listening to your IG days and you have always helped me laugh and feel better. I look forward to these Podcasts and hearing your opinions on topics such as these and more. Keep up the amazing work you guys are an inspiration to me!
This is my first time watching a full podcast EVER, on any channel, and I must say, you guys do a great job and I don't think a lot of people appreciate how much work you put in. This is my favorite channel on RUclips, funny as hell and enjoyable. Keep up the great work, you guys are the best!
Thank you guys for making these RUclips videos. I love your humor and your energy and adore falling asleep to your screaming and hilarious humor every night
Glad you guys are staying professional about Silent Hills. As long as you don't report the story as hard fact then people shouldn't have a problem with you. Sounds like a lot of people were jealous that you reported first
Funhaus keep doing what you do! You were open, honest, and forward about what you had and that you all were aware that it technically is a "rumor". Either way people will get mad if they don't agree, or weren't the first ones to "leak" such a big story. They can choose to believe it or not we will just have to see. You guys are awesome!
brawler1z God almighty there's still people like you? No shit, this is RUclips, they want people to watch their videos. It's as simple as that. It's not a sellout move or anything like that, it's done so people see the title and click on it. Who would have thought huh?
TheMoskas100 Dude calm down just an observation, and yeah I know this but look at it from this point a view. They leaked the SIlent HIlls thing, it was proven false, and now they are saying hey we may have been wrong but just wait...it's coming off as don't discredit us yet instead of hey watch this. I understand why clickbait is there I'm not an idiot just an observation don't be so hostile.
Bruno Zanotti Actually the not yet part does make it less clickbaity but it sounds more like don't discredit us yet like I mentioned above so it adds a slight hint of panic (not really but can't think of the right word for it).
brawler1z I agree they're definitely more click bait heavy than other channels. Most channels could have ''Could Fallout 4 Have Multiplayer?'' but these guys would have ''FALLOUT 4 HAS MULTIPLAYER?!?!'' Everyone gets their click bait reasoning but they go too far at times. Saw some video title for The Know (watched the channel for a while when it started), saw this big caps click bait title and was like ''when did the Know start doing these big click bait titles?'' Low and behold Adam and Bruce appear lol
I'm surprised that people are reacting so negatively to the video where you talked about microsoft buying silent hills. Why people would be angry about THE POSSIBILITY of the game coming out is beyond me. As you stated in the video it's A RUMOUR and people need to stop overreacting because they think something isn't true. Just take the information and wait for it to be confirmed or denied, don't turn on caps lock and harass Funhaus for doing their job. I'm glad you addressed it in the podcast and you handled all of the negativity very well. I love the content you guys are making so keep up the great work.
This Is my first podcast of you guys. I gave it a try to see what it is like. Honestly, I liked it but what scared me was the fact that everyone was serious there was no jokes but actual commentary. I'm not a huge podcast person and I won't watch the rest but none the less this was really great. Nice to see you guys aren't full blown comedians ( that I love to watch )
For those who are interested, the particle/wave duality theory is where light is traveling in a wave but in some cases these waves become so tightly energized they form wave packets that eventually act as a particle when grouped together.
you guys should consider reviewing games in a podcast style manner its really nice to have the groups take on the game considering the distinct preferences of each person. keep up the great work
I think you guys have covered your bases really really well on the Silent Hills rumor. From what I've been able to see, you seem to have very level heads when it comes to news, granted always presented with a comedic edge to it. I personally would love more of this hard hitting and thoughtful games journalism out of you. Keep up the good work guys!
I love when you guys get all serious like this and really have a debate where everyone gets equal time without anyone interrupting with jokes & stuff. Not that that isn't also usually awesome but this is a nice change of pace & shows your professional range which is impressive. Good work guys! :) PS It all sounds believable since MS has already secured family with Minecraft & adventure gamers with Tomb Raider. Horror is a nice addition.
I gotta say I already loved yalls comedy, but the fact that yall don't cave to backlash and don't just drop the topic, like some people, gave me more respect for yall, so cheers to you Funhaus keep being awesome. On a side note personally the rumor was very thought provoking for me so thanks for covering it.
Well, basiclly people love to complain and to get angry. I think you guys are great, keep on reporting rumors, I'll support you 100%. Never forget that if you have 200.000 views and 2.000 comments on a video and say all of those comments are angry. That's 1% of the viewers that are complaining, still got 99% of supporters. Sure, that does not stretch out to your email inbox or the industry as a whole, but you still got a shitload of fans that don't get all raged up over these things. Keep making great content! Some of us love it!
So I've been a big fan ever since Inside Gaming. I just wanted to let you know that every time I play Destiny, I eat a big bowl of Dude Soup since there is next to no important dialogue in the game although it's enjoyable. Your conversations are awesome and insightful all while being funny. Keep up the good work, you guys rock.
@funhaus i appreciate that the audio version of these podcast have high enough quality audio that i can just listen to them in the car 2 or 3 episodes at a time, and feel that im not really missing anything important, or it gets explained to the audio only audience if it is. Then when i have the time, i get to enjoy it in a different way. Other podcast that do video and audio only seem to care about the video quality and live streaming side of it, and then the audio only version has poor sound quality and they will only talk about whats on the screen.
Shaving tips: Use the shaving soap (various brands). It creates a perfect lather for shaving both the head and face (I use a headblade). Father's Day tip: The best gift you can give your dad is a reservation to a rest home. It's good to have a back up plan for when they live so long they come full circle and need diapers. You're sure as hell aren't going to change him. Everyone has to die somewhere (you'll be there in another 20 years yourself).
A short M&A 101 for you guys: If a company buys another, the purchase price is already based on a multiple. For a publicly traded company the P/E (Price-to-earnings) ratio is usually around 15. This means the company trades at prices 15 times its earnings per share. You could say it would take the acquirer 15 years to recoup the purchase price through earnings accumulation. Buying a franchise works just the same. If Silent Hill generates net royalties of 30 million a year (on average I think this is a overly optimistic figure even factoring in present values of future games cash flows), it would take Microsoft 33 years to recoup a purchase price of 1 billion. This multiple also gives you an idea of how long the acquirer is intending to hold the target, assuming the target cannot easily be resold. Also James' comment about cost borne to the acquirer is wrong. If a company buys another, you could say the acquirer pays for net income cash flows and unless they are negative (i.e. the target operates at a loss) the acquirer will not need to put more cash into the target after the purchase. On the contrary, acquirers usually intend to improve the target's profitability through synergy effects (although they mostly fail).
You shouldn't have to explain yourselves, but I do appreciate that you are trying to be transparent with us. You guys still make great content, I hope that your viewers and peers don't ever make you regret making all the cool stuff you produce.
I watched the Silent Hills rumor video and thought "Boy, that sure was interesting." I then proceeded to go about my day thinking it'd be cool if it were true.
You guys have always been a great source for gaming news. You guys clearly have journalistic integrity while managing to present the news in a fun way. Let the haters hate.
Although I love the sarcastic funniness of Funhaus, I also really enjoy the down to earth seriousness that they portray in episodes such as this. Keep the balance of this because it's great!
I guess as someone who plays few games and comes to watch Funhaus videos for the food, folks and fun, I just enjoy watching you play most games and the banter. Peace.
I don't see why people get so mad at you guys when you discuss video game news. In my eyes you guys are not really an ign or other gaming news site. You have the liberty to speculate and discuss rumours and be fun with the news. When you guys report on rumours I don't expect it to be 100% accurate. I tune in for your opinions and hearing you guys have fun with it. Basically keep doing what you do, not everyone rages at you every podcast. Also nice Hotline Miami shirt Adam.
Love your opinion on all the stuff you mentioned, you stay what you mean, and I feel you are far more honest than many so called "game journalists." I am glad that after you left Inside Gaming, you moved to Rooster Teeth, and kept on going with your videos, now on FunHaus, your videos make my day.
First off let me start off by saying I'm from south philly . I'm from da hood , like the real hood. I'm hood . I'm saying this just to let you kno you guys are great at what you do and you reach a variety of people. I stumbled across Yall when james was an intern I believe by accident and been hooked ever since. I've learned so much from you guys because Yall all are very knowledgable . Hell of a team Yall have and I fuck with all of Yall. The chemistry is genuine. I look forward to the laughs but more then anything learning from you guys .
I commend you guys and the stuff you do, I spend about 0% percent of my time looking at RUclips comments on topics of news or speculation and I also almost never comment on RUclips unless its a reply to one of my videos. Just letting you know that the quiet majority actually listens. Keep up the good work.
Okay so I have been watching you guys ever since you guys were Inside Gaming (about 4 months before you left Michinima). I was watching you guys before then too, but only on Machinima's channel when you guys would do the occasional upload there. I then found your separate channel and basically became addicted. I think I have watched every GTA video you guys have done, and I have watched 99% of the videos on the whole Funhaus channel. I love you guys, you're hilarious, and keep up the great work!
I agree guys. I love the content. I like how you guys are serious during the dude soup podcast and still captivate me like you do in demo disk. I am just typing and letting you know you guys make me smile. Have a great day!!!!
Guys I just want to thank your for your insight into the business, as a business major I find your conversation fascinating and very enjoyable. I want to thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us. You are teaching critical thinking in a practical way that is better then any school that has ever taught me. Please keep sharing your thoughts with us, I value it greatly.
Just in the subject of particle-wave duality...light (among other things), is not contingent upon observation in its particle vs wave behavior. It's not the case of light being BOTH a particle and a wave, it's that light is NEITHER. What Lawrence described, aka the uncertainty principle, is not an observer effect, but it's a fundamental property of quantum mechanical systems. Measuring momentum and measuring position will always have a deviation, as the momentum operator and position operator do not commute.
I never used to listen to or watch podcasts but since I've subscribed to you guys (all the way back when you were at inside gaming) I started to watch and really enjoy your podcasts, so thankyou for getting me into podcasts guys! P.S. I love how sometimes when Lawrence talks you guys all seem to zone out is he really that boring?!?
Great podcast, normally I don't like the over four podcasts from you guys but this one was very well paced. No one really spoke over each other and you all pretty much kept the conversation on topic. I liked how the fifth person who was playing the game was concentrating on the game and listened to other peoples opinions. I love yoyr stuff. Keep it up. Have a good day. :)
Lawrence, the Chemistry reference you did about knowing the location or velocity but not both at the same time is Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle on the electron and not what Joel was saying about De Broglie's Wave-Duality about light existing as both a particle and a wave and only one of them can be observed depending on the experiment.
Pretty much this whole podcast just reinforced why I watch shows like The Know for video game news. The article they read is in the majority in regards to the kind of games journalism I've seen. Guys, keep doing what you're doing and how you're doing it.
factors as to why PT was a success was because it was a free short demo and had the names of Kojima and Del Toro tied to it. Silent Hills wont be free and most likely wont have Kojima or Del Toro attached.
For these podcasts I just listen, and I love to imagine Matt Peake sitting in the background and silently nodding at what everyone has to say.
The stern father in the back row of his sons piano concert.
BestStart64 He occaisonally turns angry and is about to throw a chair, but then he remembers his mantra "Matt Peake needs to settle down"
BestStart64 He is sitting behind the cameras on a throne of old desktops and a crown of old computer mice, with his regular face, and all of the regular cast we know are actually extremely scared of what he is thinking the whole time. Kind of like Caesar using his thumbs up or thumbs down in order to sentence someone to life or death.
I like the way you guys handle backlash. I feel like you'll always get negative comments no matter what you report on. I took it as a very interesting topic and I enjoyed seeing you guys talk about the possibility during this podcast.
cant wait for their fallout podcast! Im predicting 500+ dislikes. Fallout fanboys cant handle criticism
Sassy Potato People just need to be more open minded about opinions.
Edgar Garcia so true. and I wanna see norman reedus!
NinjaPups reddus and a fetus
Austin Melendez That's PT's sequel. It's a dating sims.
Edgar Garcia *Shudders*
Someone should do a compilation of the differt ways lawrence has described the episode of Dude Soup.
Paul Tandy *different
Paul Tandy It's a bit early for that yet, we should wait until the end of the year and do it as a dude soup 2015 flavours compilation.
Andrew Josund Wow. Someone just outsourced a youtube video for free.
Listening to some of the old IG podcasts lately, I miss their jokes with the adverts, naturebox is the best :-P
Luke Woods im just glad they don't have to do them anymore. Those plugs were taking away from prime discussion time.
Also I just want to play silent hills :(
headknocker2020 Phil Spencer confirmed that the rumor is false.
+veltra111 did you guys watch the video? Any of it? They talked by about everything you're talking about here and why the deal is plausible
"God's not dead Kevin Sorbo told me!" Best line from Lawrence ever!!! Thank you for always making my day more enjoyable, FH!!!
Nathan Jacobs Also, I really am excited to see you guys come to Dallas for SGC.
Spoole dated Tove Lo in high school.
Dee Kay ...and now he's always high because he's had enough of Lo.
colossalcow Boom!
Dee Kay Da fuck? Where'd you get that idea?
Kaine Parker ....Cause he acts and looks like he is high all the time. DUH!
colossalcow That's the best explanation I've ever heard.
Damn I just keep re watching old Dude Soup podcasts to help me fall asleep
Plot twist, Phil Spencer is their anonymous source.
I hope you can talk about Fallout Fallout and only fallout next podcast.
omegasigma5656 and fallout too
Don't forget fallout
It'd be pretty cool if they talked about Fallout.
Rafa Banuelos Fallwho?
Louis ULC Fallwhere?
Always hesitant to comment on anything but I just realized why I love the podcast so much. Of course you guys always have your thing of fucking around with filming, but I feel the podcast is when you guys get to totally relax and not care about having to be funny and entertaining, but genuinely discuss a topic. So great. Always something I look forward to for the week.
Question....what game was he playing?
Jano Berumen Bladestorm: Nightmare
Thank god I thought it was just me who didnt know
Jano Berumen Darude - Bladestorm
ANSWERS!
BladeStorm nightmare, it just came out on pc
I really like having more people in a pod cast. It brings out more opinions and thoughts about the topics you discuss. I would like more podcasts like this one
If P.T were to actually succeed, it will die out in a month, tops. Just like the fate of Slenderman, Amnesia and Outlast.
Thy MetalMan Well lets hope not. Just from what I played it shows a lot of potential.
And every game that ever existed
Videos been uploaded for 6 minutes, 19 likes and 1 dislike, video is over 1 hour long. What a bad-ass!
My first time commenting on the podcast and I just want to say I am glad I found a group of people I enjoy watching and following week after week for the past four years. Thanks guys for keeping me entertained.
Its painful living in Europe and waiting for the podcast:(
Shane Walsh Cancer is also painful. Feel better.
colossalcow What if you live in Europe *AND* have cancer
John Chaser thats less painful than playing chaser
VivPunk But what if you live in Europe, have cancer and you're playing through Chaser?
TheOdd101
well,then you're fucked
Spidey-Kun I'm betting if it was originally on Xbox and was bought onto Ps4 you would probably be acting like the fanboys you're talking about.
Spidey-Kun shut the fuck up weeaboo
And if Sony obtained Silent Hills, Xbox fanboys would cry. It's just how fanboys work. System preference doesn't matter, they'll cry no matter what.
Kaine Parker No....I have a PC. I also don't care about this game really.
It's about ethics in games journalism
***** I'm not being sarcastic when I say that I found that sincerely amusing. Congrats.
TheGroucho66 I think that if you wer,e it might be. But its not--so you arent. Get over thyself.
Jason McDougal please learn english before replying to someone in very broken english
James's face when he is the one playing the game is so intense!
#BOOM!

Too bad they made this before fallout 4 trailer came out ha
27:19 YOU GUYS HAVE CREATED AN ALTERNATE TIME LINE!
seeing this game you know what would make a good dynasty warriors game? lord of the rings.
Branden Wright on another note. Joel looks grumpy today.
Hey guys just wanted to say a big thank you to the whole team. I've been at home healing from spine surgery and a mate linked me to your videos to give me something to watch. I've just finished your entire catalogue and it has been an invaluable source of entertainment. Love your work :)
I don't know why, but Joel looks extremely attractive on this Podcast.... #NoHomo
Arturas Bakinas he looks attactive all the time #FullHomo
VivPunk I know! He does look attractive every time, but in this episode he's gorgeous... #StillNoHomo
"There isn't any digging going on"
James you are great.
I hate to report this but in 2019 this is not true
rip
I really love at the end when you guys were talking about Colin Campbell complaining about Rock Band 4. You guys are extremely humble, honest, and on top of that hilarious I personally think you guys are the best at what you guys do. I have been listening to your IG days and you have always helped me laugh and feel better. I look forward to these Podcasts and hearing your opinions on topics such as these and more. Keep up the amazing work you guys are an inspiration to me!
What is Adam playing?
Ben Williams I believe that to be bladestorm hundred years war. older game but i remember really enjoying it.
Looks like Dynasty Warriors... Can't really tell.
Ahá! Bladestorm Nightmare~
Ben Williams Blade Storm Nightmare
Iván Rivera is it worth the $$? im interested on getting it
This is my first time watching a full podcast EVER, on any channel, and I must say, you guys do a great job and I don't think a lot of people appreciate how much work you put in. This is my favorite channel on RUclips, funny as hell and enjoyable. Keep up the great work, you guys are the best!
I really wonder what game Adam is playing.
Kaz Plays Games Bladestorm nightmare
Kaz Plays Games Darude - Bladestorm
Billy Bob your amazing
Game of thrones
Tyler Williamson your amazing what?
Thank you guys for making these RUclips videos. I love your humor and your energy and adore falling asleep to your screaming and hilarious humor every night
What game is that?
Frank Martin Pretty sure thats BLADESTORM: Nightmare
Cool thanks
Frank Martin Blade Storm Nightmare
Frank Martin Darude - Bladestorm
Frank Martin Blade Storm Nightmare
Glad you guys are staying professional about Silent Hills. As long as you don't report the story as hard fact then people shouldn't have a problem with you. Sounds like a lot of people were jealous that you reported first
How the fuck do I spell the sponsor? Is it Harry's or Hairys?
Ben Kuyt Pretty sure it's HArry's
Zachary Murray I found it. Gonna get my dad that shaving kit for fathers day and use the Dude code to help these guys out.
FFfaaaannnTaaasstiiic
Funhaus keep doing what you do! You were open, honest, and forward about what you had and that you all were aware that it technically is a "rumor". Either way people will get mad if they don't agree, or weren't the first ones to "leak" such a big story. They can choose to believe it or not we will just have to see. You guys are awesome!
...this is one of the most desperate click bait titles I have seen lol.
brawler1z God almighty there's still people like you? No shit, this is RUclips, they want people to watch their videos. It's as simple as that. It's not a sellout move or anything like that, it's done so people see the title and click on it. Who would have thought huh?
TheMoskas100 Dude calm down just an observation, and yeah I know this but look at it from this point a view. They leaked the SIlent HIlls thing, it was proven false, and now they are saying hey we may have been wrong but just wait...it's coming off as don't discredit us yet instead of hey watch this. I understand why clickbait is there I'm not an idiot just an observation don't be so hostile.
brawler1z It would be, if it wasn't for the "Not Yet", already answering the "clickbaity" part meaning you don't have to click the video to know.
Most channels could have ''Could Fallout 4 Have Multiplayer?'' but these guys would have ''FALLOUT 4 HAS MULTIPLAYER?!?!''
Everyone gets their click bait reasoning but they go too far at times.
For those who are interested, the particle/wave duality theory is where light is traveling in a wave but in some cases these waves become so tightly energized they form wave packets that eventually act as a particle when grouped together.
you guys should consider reviewing games in a podcast style manner its really nice to have the groups take on the game considering the distinct preferences of each person.
keep up the great work
To me; you guys are like the smart friends you meet in college while RT and AH is the friends you made in your home town and I like that.
Lawrence has grown to be my favorite gaming news personality
These are my go to videos when I'm playing video games, good work guys
I love when you guys get all serious like this and really have a debate where everyone gets equal time without anyone interrupting with jokes & stuff. Not that that isn't also usually awesome but this is a nice change of pace & shows your professional range which is impressive. Good work guys! :)
PS It all sounds believable since MS has already secured family with Minecraft & adventure gamers with Tomb Raider. Horror is a nice addition.
I gotta say I already loved yalls comedy, but the fact that yall don't cave to backlash and don't just drop the topic, like some people, gave me more respect for yall, so cheers to you Funhaus keep being awesome. On a side note personally the rumor was very thought provoking for me so thanks for covering it.
can't believe i heard the words "inside" and "gaming" in the same sentence. really brings me back... wipes away lone tear...
Funhaus could talk about eating dog shit for an hour, I'd still listen and be interested. Keep up the good work guys.
A short M&A 101 for you guys:
If a company buys another, the purchase price is already based on a multiple.
Let the haters hate.
my favorite podcast by you guys ever. Not to say that you don't always get into the story, but this time you guys went deep into it and i loved it.
I like it when Spoole is done with his homework and can join the podcast.
So, who are these "industry side" callers and texters that messaged you following the video? What hornet's nests were riles up??
Adam's up-beat and cheerful attitude always brightens up the videos y'all do. keep it up man, and don't stop showing off that beautiful smile!
Anybody else love the intensity of James' face when he's listening to them
I love watching Bruce play video games! His facial expressions are priceless. Its always a good video when the controller is in his hands.
I love that Spoole had been hiding behind Joel the whole time. May be he was just waiting for his "one dollar one hour" moment.
I agree guys. I love the content. I like how you guys are serious during the dude soup podcast and still captivate me like you do in demo disk. I am just typing and letting you know you guys make me smile. Have a great day!!!!
This is my first Dude Soup. You guys are pretty interesting to watch. Its also interesting to know that Lawrence is officially white Gus.
The look on Adam's face as he gives up on that last sentence is priceless, haha.

I love that Adam knows about boosting during the tutorial of bladestorm :3
Got to show my support for my favourite guys on RUclips. Keep up the awesome work!
Unrelated to video games but @ 15:17 , Adams eyebrow game is STRONG. Respect.
This reminds me of Genoa from The Newsroom.
"We lost the trust of the people!"
"Then get it Back!"
Really enjoy the perspective guys. I'm digging this a lot more than other podcasts I'm listening too right now.
