62yo here and playing non-stop since vanilla. Thank you for this insight. I really hate when ppl rush thru the game, my wife stopped playing for that reason. Sometimes I go back to old raids just to look around and admire the architecture. Sometimes I just fly some place and wait for sunset. Sometimes I just fly to places I find relaxing. But I know that at least nobody in my guild does that. Maybe I'm just a stupid old coot, but sometimes I go to the Shrine of the Fallen warrior in Northern Barrens and think about my loved ones that no longer are with me. Maybe I'm just closer to my death than my birth, butI cried reading Alicia's Poem..
Thanks again m8, I'm not ADHD, I've got a very satisfying life both socially and professionally but.... WoW is home....

I just listened to your video, and I wanted to say how much I appreciated your message. Your reflections on slowing down, both in World of Warcraft and in life, really resonated with me. It's so true that many of us, especially millennials, have become accustomed to instant gratification. always rushing to the next goal, whether in games or in life.
What struck me most was how you connected this philosophy to managing ADHD and finding peace amidst the chaos. It’s a perspective we don’t hear often, and it highlights something so important: many people are never taught how to slow down their thoughts or their thought process. We’re often left to figure out on our own how to deal with racing minds or constant noise, which can feel overwhelming.
Your approach of using WoW as a way to practice mindfulness and embrace the moment is inspiring. It’s a reminder that slowing down isn’t just a skill-it’s a choice we can make, even in something as simple as a walk through Azeroth. Thank you for sharing your journey and showing how this mindset can apply not just to gaming, but to life as a whole. Keep putting out this kind of meaningful content! it’s impactful, and I’m sure it’s helping more people than you realize.I hope you get more followers soon so more people get to know you :)

My wife started playing last month, and we've been leveling toons together. It's her first video game experience of any kind. It's been an extremely slow but very rewarding process. Seeing and appreciating the game through the eyes of a brand new player has definitely brought a breath of fresh air to the game.

F2P WoW on an RP server is the most chill WoW experience I've ever had. There's no rush and you know you'll eventually run into the physics of your character's limitations as imposed by the restrictions on the trial-account . What you do when you reach those limitations is up to you and I find that's where you really begin to develop your character creatively.
You reach those limitations very quickly (level 20) so the it doesn't take long before all that's left is the creative side the game has to offer and for me that has been using the game as a photography and cinematography simulator. I'd been playing subbed from Vanilla to Shadowlands but I didn't really experience Azeroth until I stopped playing it as a game.
I'm a big supporter of playing WoW to play chill and create.

As a fellow adhd haver and recent WOW classic player, this video really validated a lot of my feelings towards games, (MMOs in particular).
Ive been playing Runescape since I was a kid, about 20 years now on and off. OSRS is a game that lets you choose exactly what speed you want to interact with the game at any given time. And the one thing I've always loved the most about it is that there is SO much content that its basically a never-ending well for my brain to fall down. The pacing of the game really had made me appreciate slowing down and enjoying the world, music, ect.
I've been trying to go into WOW with that same mentality; I've enjoyed feeling immersed in the world more than anything else.

i've realized this recently as well watching people "play wow for the first time" i realized, i was enjoying watching them because it reminded me of when i first joined. back then we werent in a rush to be or finish anything. we were adventuring. since then, we all chase that feeling again and think it'll come in a perfect expansion or new patch but, it wont. we will find it by slowing down. adventuring. thank you for this video. i hope it will inspire others to go back to being an adventurer again.

Dude - listening to you talk was like listening to myself. I had the same life experience as you did. Only recently have I accepted that I had ADHD. The final straw was when I was picked to go to other facility for the company I work for to do a safety gap analysis and one of the upper managers mentioned to me that he believed the best managers in our line of work had ADHD - the comment was directed towards me…That’s when it all hit me like a ton of bricks and I could see how it has affected everything that I do and who I have become. I couldn’t explain to my ex why my head would just burn and I couldn’t slow down - it was like I my brain was overheating at times. I’m constantly distracting myself because I fear the silence. I have a lot more to tell but having reflected on this a lot lately I realized that I need an outlet to help me slow down. I took a 12 year break from WoW but I remember it helped me slow down and I could carry that into all parts of my life. I bought a PC and it’ll be here on Tuesday. I’ll see you in Azeroth, brother.

Really nice video - This applies to life itself, not just wow! When I played I'd often like to visit my most loved zones. I'd sit in the Darkshire inn and pretend I was Sherlock Holmes living out a weird tale. Or mine in the Hinterlands, not because I needed gold, but to periodically stand or sit in 'my personal spots'. RP as bandits with friends or whisper funny riddles to passers by for small rewards. I think I couldn't go back to the game now. It's changed too much, and maybe I have too.

this kind of idea on how to play wow has recently came to my mind. The only issue I'm having with it is that its not very encouranging to play slower paced or trying to appreciate the game in whole. My wishes to the future of wow would be to update the experience and not the endgame. It would be really fun seeing an update to how fishing works, or maybe like making new items that can sharpen your blade etc. Player housing is a big win for me, one thing Im looking forward to very much! But my point is, making the world feel more interactive, detailed and fun, also encourage me to play it slower and stay at an inn to talks to npcs or whatever, just because!

Diablo 4 started as a slower game, where you could enjoy the great atmosphere created, and now it's made and incentivized to play as another go as fast as you can game. This is the best WoW video on RUclips, no actually this is the best RUclips video. I'm the person who always looked for reasons to take a boat instead of the portal. I always despised speed and efficiency, because I felt those concepts ruined WoW and other games. WoW was never about the "phat loot", dealing high numbers, or "getting stuff done". Instead WoW (just like EverQuest) was just about existing in another world. You got yourself a new subscriber.

11:30 As a player loving the heros journey who quit retail i can tell you what forces me to rush: Blizzard directly hinders you on 'completing' a journey. As soon as you reach a certain level cap it instantly spams you with the quest for the current addon. Also past content is highly trivialized and unbalanced, there is no real sense of progression, danger or accomplishment. Imho that's the reason so many people (myself included) flock to classic.

As a pandaren often says "Slow down! Life is to be savored". Did you play the Pandaria expansion? I love that one, something so chill about it and that one usually makes me relax.
The music in Azure Span is amazing btw, it could be that making you stop and relax. Same happens in WoD Talador for me. Have u been there. I have to stop if I go there or I just want to stay there and finish quests because of the music. Listen to this if you can and see if it has an effect on you: ruclips.net/video/fXyH27S_y24/видео.html

12:40 because you might not have alot of free time and know that the rewards dont really matter at all so you just take the shourtest route as they are in the game.

i think i understand what you're saying but i also think the "rewards" in this game are subjective. i do agree that the rewards don't matter, what matters is are you enjoying yourself or not.

Thank the maker that your dx does NOT make you the target of merciless in-game verbal attacks from real humans.

Ye they miss the whole point imo, WoW is the real fantasy medieval wizard alchemy trolls and a whole new world that has been turned into min max simulator. All I wanna do is explore Mage Quarters on a side quest where we discover the bad batch of elixirs...

i honestly think its the players that turned it into a min max simulator not the devs. if you like the mage quarters you should do the mage teleport questline in hallowfall, its beautiful and emotional.

I feel like the message of this video is actually pretty against the way that the game is designed, the game is a treadmill of new content catering to an active fast-paced community, and if you ever slow down, you're punished for it by having all your progress invalidated next patch.
I also think you've got that backwards, the Classic community are the fast-paced min/maxxing tryhards that optimize all the fun out of the game, retail is where all the roleplayers and mount/transmog collectors who don't care about min/maxxing at all reside~ :V

can you explain how can you slow down in a game with a weekly reset, where if you missed one week of killing a boss or filling out your vault, you are behind for the rest of the patch? If you ignore the competitive part of WoW and are able to somehow feel good about watching changing colors on your screen then damn, good for you I guess

    • @acadiianwow
      @acadiianwow  19 часов назад

i totally get what you are saying dude but the concept of "falling behind" is something the player creates. if you don't have maxed out gear right now your account doesn't get deleted, you can still play. i care about gear too, my pally is 632, but i also can choose to take some time to relax and enjoy the slower parts of the game. I appreciate you watching and giving your opinion!

i apologize that you feel the video title didn't match the subject matter. The descriptions says "I wanted to share my experience with ADHD and how taking my time in WoW helped me cope with my racing mind." so i thought it was clear. hope you have a nice day and I appreciate you watching and giving feedback!

@acadiianwow yeah, you're welcome! I've just got back into playing WoW, and I needed this for WoW and for my life in general, thank you so much.
