- Lu Zijian (1893 - 2012) was a martial artist and a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 1911 he studied Baguazhang, Art and Calligraphy with master Li Changye, becoming his third generation successor.
In 1929, to protest the government's plan to "abolish traditional Chinese medicine", he was elected head of the medical team as an advocate for traditional Chinese medicine.
In 1937, 44-year-old Lu Zijian personally experienced the Nanjing Massacre, managed to save himself by posing as a doctor, but never accepted the Japanese as his disciples ever since.
During the Cultural Revolution he was considered a "counter-revolutionary" and spent more than ten years in a labor camp in Xinjiang, during which time he became famous for having treated two young spouses with acupuncture, she a Uyghur and he of Han ethnicity.
In 1979, after seeing him practice Martial Arts in an exhibition, Lu was rehabilitated by President Deng Xiaoping himself and was able to return to his hometown.
Lu Zijian's life, consistency and experience demonstrate how martial arts, traditional medicine and literary culture are one.

Who came here after Shankar’s interview
Who is Shankar?
He was very controversial and made a number of claims that are doubted and proved to be fake and false by Chinese martial art historians. He was in prison in the 1960s and 1970s for being a gang member. In 1986, in 《宜昌市文史資料第5輯》Yichang City Historical Archives Collection volume 5, Long Yuan-Fu 龍源甫 wrote that he was currently about 70 years old.
"gang member in 1960-s and 70-s" - In those times you could be "a gang member" even if you yourself hadn't realized it. There were many different "gangs", for example famous "the gang of four".
Yes, I knew about these controversial facts and I mentioned them in several posts. In addition, in the last years of his life, after taking a bad fall, Master Lu said many obviously unreliable things, which did not improve things. In any case, even if he "only" arrived at 98, Lu was an excellent martial arts practitioner and gave a good image of China to the rest of the world. Precious thing in these times. 🙏🏽
After Indian 2 😅 Senapathy
What an Amazing Master! And what an incredibly long and full life!!! Thank you for sharing, Master Basili!
Liar, LOL

I read once this sifu during the WW2 era hit an enemy soldier in the chest and killed him by stopping his heart.
Saludos maestro.
Oh!my goodness! His art is superb!!
🔥🔥🔥❤️
This is only inspiring and uplifting and shows that it is the man that is the art that there is no age limit and to never be afraid of commitment and challenge and To face life head on without hesitation without restraint or Mercy to be the very best you can be this is the way brilliant
Can u explain 7 rings about a man?
Buon pomeriggio Maestro
Grazie per la condivisione🙏
How old is the amazing old man?
Some argue, especially in the West, that it is not possible that Lu Zijian lived to be 119 in this physical form. In reality, in recent years, precisely in the period of these shootings, Master Lu often had memory failures and sometimes said things that were disconnected, following a bad fall from the bed in which he suffered a brain injury. Yet he continued to practice, remember, and perform well the Martial Arts techniques!
It is a known phenomenon, but still important: what is truly part of us can support us even in difficult times.
Martial arts is a lot too just fighting an opponent. ...
That's right 🙏🏽
🤔🙄🤔
Meraviglioso il Nonno ❤️👊🙏
Bravissimo contenuto!
If only we could see the invisible opponent! I saw one move which I think is a "Bear" style. At 0:28. I can't remember if it was an internal style or not, but it was a version of Bagua, where I think the move went from defensive to a counter move. Wish I knew for sure.
This hand "adherent" to the body is characteristic of the Bagua. Here you can see some apps ruclips.net/user/shortsdMI7F1JOugk
@@DanteBasili Thank you very much Sir!
Such a Beautiful video, thank you very much for sharing this with us ☀️
Grazie Cheyne 🙏🏽
Wow thanks for posting this! My Shifu was a student of Grandmaster Lu and GM Lu was his grandfather’s Shifu. A real treasure, my Shifu was very fond of him. I’ve been lucky to learn some of GM Lu’s Bagua hand sets, his deer horn knife form, scabbard form (similar to a cane form), Bagua dao, and some of his qigong. Shifu said GM Lu outlived most of his wives😊.
Grazie Brabdog, I didn't know about wives...🙂
@@DanteBasili Apparently he was active well into his later years.
@@DanteBasili The scabbard form is quite interesting, it imagines that your opponent has taken your sword, and you have to defend yourself with the scabbard. Very unique, I’ve never seen anything like it.
Yes, very interesting! Can you post a link where I can see it?
@@DanteBasili I’ve never seen the scabbard or deer horn knife forms on RUclips, although the scabbard form is similar in presentation to a short staff form. We are doing a forms demonstration this weekend. I will see if Shifu is ok with posting some clips to our Facebook page; if so, I will let you know.
Vero🙏🏽
Thank you for sharing. What style of Bagua did he practice? Thanks
Estilo sureño?
El Maestro Lu estudió Bagua Zhang en Beijing 🙏🏽
Está cheio de tuberculose😇🤣😂🤣
