- Welcome Back to the Channel if you’re new I do car reviews, DIY mods, fix it yourself videos and plenty of BMW how to content. I currently own the 2022 BMW X3 30i LCI in Alpine White over Cognac with 787 M 20’ wheels.

Every BMW since my 1987 E30 has had a place to hold the gas cap while refueling. It took me a few years to realize that. Great video.
Highly informative video, and I'm a guy who's on his eighth straight Bimmer (including three European Deliveries and last year a Performance Delivery to pick up my M3 Comp.). Great video Ramone!!! Thank you for sharing! We just leased a 2023 X6 and I am going to see if if some of your tips and methods to get into the service menus work on our car. the car filler is exactly the same as is the side mirrors using the button to tilt the keep the passenger side mirror from tilting down in reverse. Discovered this trick on our Subaru Forester and Mini Countryman as well. One other neat trick on this new BMW to bypass the start/stop function is to put the vehicle in sport mode.. If you still want to drive in comfort mode but do not want the start/stop function, you can go into the sport mode menu and set the driving to comfort. A very neat work around without any special programming.
QUESTION: Do you know if you can get into a service menu that shows battery voltage? Reason I ask is that our battery had a significant overnight discharge from what we believe was from accidentally leaving the NFC Ingnition/Lock card on the wireless charger overnight. Caused major system issues when we started the car the next morning here in cold Ohio. Almost had to have it towed in to the dealer but was able to make it by driving the car in with fingers crossed. I ended up purchasing a CTEK battery charger which is the manufacturer that makes the BMW battery charger. the only difference is that the BMW charger has an additional option for charging LiON batteries which our vehicle does not have. We have the original AGM flat plate BMW battery. FWIW, we also have 2 Mini Coopers. 1 2016 convertible and a 2022 Mini Countryman. We really enjoy the Mini/BMW brand. Thanks for any additional info on possibly entering a service menu that indicates battery voltage.
your best bet would be to get an OBD scan tool most if not all shows your battery voltage and you can run test on the battery as well. I’ve been trying to find a menu within my car unfortunately no luck and I’ve had a similar issue my car died one morning even the key fob was useless but my local dealer sent a bmw genius to get it running

I believe it’s the seat module or the head unit. Most BimmerCode options changed with their latest update but yes you can

Thank you for this video, your BMW has a space saver spare tire? I thought BMWs dont have spare tires? is this spare tire only available on 2022 models? or is it possible to have it on a 2020 model. Thank you again.
My bmw is equipped with the optional space saver spare. The specifications for these pandemic vehicles changes month to month so I’m not sure what the availability is but it has been available on all G series X3s to my knowledge.
After the cargo cover is removed, where can it be stored out of the way? It supposed to be underneath the mat by where the spare tire is.
If you have the full size spare, there’s no space to fit the cargo cover. If you have the regular trunk then it would tuck away under the cargo floor
How did you get the green status bar for gas and water temp on the dash?
I coded the Alpina graphics onto the live cockpit
The spare tire you have to purchase it separately! I just got my X3 2023 it doesn’t have it
It’s optional have to be factory ordered
I'm just wondering how you got that Alpina instrument cluster on an X3 30i? Also, you don't have to go through the process of turning on and off the ignition in order to do the wiper blades any more, you just hold down the arm and it will lock in place after two full wipes.
It’s a 30i and I coded it using bimmer code
