This and 2020 Charlotte Roval for Xfinity are the two craziest Road Course races in that time 5 years Wish I was able to watch the 2016 race but the race looked a lot of fun
2017 Road America was also crazy. There were many crashes and the two leaders crashes in the final corner with 2 to go. Jeremy Clements was the first to get out of the grass and he ended up winning the race.
I watched this after it happened, I was racing at the old Columbus Motor Speedway, and it got so close to us that the backside of the pits got a downpour, and the other side of the track, the grandstands got another downpour, but the racing surface stayed dry somehow. I always remember this race with my race, and both were some of my favorite races of all time
2014 road america was also a rain race. Brendan gaughan won by gambling not putting and running on the slower rain track tires. I was there and it was wild
I was at this race at the start finish line. The rain didn’t start until after lap 2 like mentioned, but it never stopped throughout the race. The funny thing is right when the race ended, a downpour started
I got into NASCAR in May 2016 and this was probably among the first 10 races I watched. Loved every second of it. Thanks for letting me relive the memories.
This race was on the same day as that wild truck series race at Michigan that Brett Moffitt won, the next day Kyle Larson also got his first career win at Michigan making this weekend one of the few in NASCAR history that had 3 first time winners
Alon Day raced for Carl Long that day and he was up in the top 10 all race long, even being 3rd at once point, before finishing in the top 15 (12th, if I remember). Talk about crazy and crazy talented Day is.
I believe that this year's Xfinity race at PIR could qualify as both a crazy rain race and a NASCAR wreckfest video because it was both, I know I was there in person.
This race trully test their talent, patience, and driver capability! This separate the men from the boys behind these slick conditions...we should race in the rain like this at Martinsville and Bristol!!!! 😎
Never watched nascar (mainly due to the fact that the races a mostly late at night in europe) but damn. Also, laughing my ass off at 12:26 , that's gotta be one of the best timed commentary I ever heard
My grandfather works at mid ohio and there were next gen cars testing this past week so maybe. The reason cup has never came to mid ohio because they only have 28 pit stalls I believe
This race was crazy for the rain, but imo, not the craziest in my opinion, i think the craziest rain race in my opinion, is the 2020 Charlotte Roval Race, was run in an absolute torrent downpour, it was just crazy
I could've watched this race the very same weekend it happened but I didn't sadly. At least it's up on RUclips but I don't know why I didn't make effort to find stream links..
Ah, they Keyhole...turn 2 at Mid Ohio...not Turn 1. Turn 1 is either the turn at the end of the back stretch where the green flag is thrown at the start....or the left hander under the bridge by the pits. Keyhole is T2, or T5 if the chicane is used
Because the stars have to align for NASCAR every time there is a road course race the same weekend there is rain. At least we might get damp racing at Short tracks.
There was one at COTA last year and it was mixed while fans loved it most for truck series it was very controversial when cup raced for I gonna say reasonable thoughts
@@jc1424 clickbait...complete bullshit. Where do I begin? I will never understand why people put up clickbait thumbnails. All it does is piss people off. I have NEVER subscribed to a channel that had a clickbait thumbnail.
Even with the rain and all the spinning out shenanigans, I just can't get into road course races. I don't know what it is, but they have always just been unappealing to me.
A man what didnt drived a car designed to go to the left whit 650hp in the rain (respect for the people what dont say this): they are crashing in circles (makes sense in ovals not in tracks)
This and 2020 Charlotte Roval for Xfinity are the two craziest Road Course races in that time 5 years
Wish I was able to watch the 2016 race but the race looked a lot of fun
I remember watching it. Quite the amazing show
I remember watching this live. Crazy and entertaining race
0:21 Ayo! That's me. I'm now a proper flagger. It's always funny seeing myself in random old clips from when I was too young to actually flag.
This is what we need on video games

As a Mid-Ohio regular I can say when it rains at Mid-Ohio it RAINS AT MID-OHIO! Hahaha great video
2016: USA Network airs a NASCAR race due to NBC covering the Olympics.
2022: USA Network airs NASCAR races because NBCSN shut down.
I was at this race at the start finish line. The rain didn’t start until after lap 2 like mentioned, but it never stopped throughout the race. The funny thing is right when the race ended, a downpour started
@GN yeah it stopped briefly. Where I was, you could still feel the moisture until it started raining again. I forgot that small detail
Never seen a race done during or just after rain. It's so weird seeing the cars with windshield wipers XD
I got into NASCAR in May 2016 and this was probably among the first 10 races I watched. Loved every second of it.
Thanks for letting me relive the memories.
Fun fact, Justin Marks lapped Daniel Suarez and Ross Chastain in this race.
This race was very entertaining I love when it rains during road course races
Either this race or the 2014 Watkins Glen Cup race would be my favorites that I have watched live. Another candidate would be the 2017 Brickyard 400.
As a Wallacenfan,i think the real shock was him running well on a road course.
This race was on the same day as that wild truck series race at Michigan that Brett Moffitt won, the next day Kyle Larson also got his first career win at Michigan making this weekend one of the few in NASCAR history that had 3 first time winners
Also Justin Marks must’ve like driving for Ganassi so much that he decided to just buy the team😂
You’re thinking Road America. Mid-Ohio Xfinity was the only NASCAR race on that weekend
I was in New Berlin New York that day and I missed this meme race.
Una Fuckin Dilla!! The Other Side Sucks!
That is a very insane race. Just showing that high speeds in wet roads, no matter how skillful you are, it's dangerous and unpredictable.
I loved the Zombie Dodges
That Alonso Day driver in the 40 car finished in the top 10 at that race!
I think the grass had more grip
The grass had more grip than the actual track might of well just used the grass more to actually race
@@racerlord2329 nascar just became gasscar

Any time you could be competitive in a Zombie Dodge, you're doing a great job
@Brandy Taylor
Well that definitely boosted his confidence, as he is now a 3-time NASCAR Whalen Euro Series Champion.
He's one of those ringers who I genuinely believe would have been a really good NASCAR driver if he tried to get a career going.
I believe that this year's Xfinity race at PIR could qualify as both a crazy rain race and a NASCAR wreckfest video because it was both, I know I was there in person.
Let's do more of these rain race videos
I subscribed and am looking forward to more videos. As of now I appreciate your interpretation of racing
I ended up in the hospital that week and couldnt go, seeing it on the tv in my room I was thrilled to be dry and in bed technically
This race trully test their talent, patience, and driver capability! This separate the men from the boys behind these slick conditions...we should race in the rain like this at Martinsville and Bristol!!!! 😎
YES
This one is at the top for NASCAR’s craziest race. A close second would be the 2020 NASCAR XFINITY series race at the roval.
Never watched nascar (mainly due to the fact that the races a mostly late at night in europe) but damn. Also, laughing my ass off at 12:26 , that's gotta be one of the best timed commentary I ever heard
The day I believe Justin Marks got his only Xfinity and NASCAR win ever unless if he won in Trucks
Until Ross chastain or Daniel Suarez wins then marks would get his first win as an owner
Can the Xfinity Series please return to this track in 2023 and bring the Cup Series with them? Always had good races at this track.
My grandfather works at mid ohio and there were next gen cars testing this past week so maybe. The reason cup has never came to mid ohio because they only have 28 pit stalls I believe
NASCAR. On a road course. In the rain. That right there is the trifecta of awesome.👍
This race was crazy for the rain, but imo, not the craziest in my opinion, i think the craziest rain race in my opinion, is the 2020 Charlotte Roval Race, was run in an absolute torrent downpour, it was just crazy
Awesome video keep up the good work
I love rain racing. Would love to see a rain race at every road course .
Anyone else see the dodge car in 2016? 5:04
I was at this race too! I live 5 minutes from this racetrack and we had bad weather that whole week. Everyone expected rain for that race 😂
When the 74 spun a little bit, it looked like he was trying to drift.
The most Ohio thing I’ve seen today
Am I seeing this right or is that really a Dodge Challenger car at 5:07??
Yea. That’s a Dodge Challenger.
I could've watched this race the very same weekend it happened but I didn't sadly. At least it's up on RUclips but I don't know why I didn't make effort to find stream links..
I was at this race, I was the young kid waving the yellow flag in the beginning lol
Best rain race was 2020 Charlotte roval hands down the amount of water was insane but this is close
This was a really good race
This Was a Great Race. Yeah a few too many Yellows but the Race for the Lead was fantastic.
i live in wooster not far from mid ohio going to hopefully watch the race coming up work schedule always screws me out of going

@Lucas Marques the heavy rain
