I love this version. I think it's better than the final version. I am not a big fan of the PSG channels but I love how they come alive, take the center stage and make their own singing here. The bass intro is so cool as all other bass notes. The DAC seems to be willing to run over all the other channels, and this is cool and very jazzy. The other instruments might not have been so well chosen but nothing really wrong with them. I suppose this version was changed because some instruments are being pulled in a low energy mode, evoking the image of musicians that are a bit tired, so the song ended up seeming a bit offbeat when compared to Sonic's attitude. Sonic music can sound endangered or even chill like in Hill Top zone, but never tired. I assume that because basically final version removed all low energy parts even though it sacrificed very cool parts of this one. I'd love to see how a mix of both versions would have sounded like.
This might be better than the final version. It's so different with added melodies and new instrumentations. The jumpy Channels 1 & 2 are great. That beginning bit of Channel 0 was nice and all the different instruments fit. Great version and good deconstruction
Nah the final version sounds so much better, this sounds far too laid back and I’m glad they got rid of the PSG notes in the final version of this tune as well. They sound horrible.
Nice, but this is the Simon Wai version, all tracks are the same as the final by the pre-beta Build. A more accurate title would have been Alpha not beta
While the beta Cnz takes place inside a bar where jazz is playing and you're having a drink, the final Cnz plays outside after you've been kicked out for drinking too much and losing at cards. Once outside, you need to venture into a slot machine to regain your dignity along with some rings.
@@FrijolesyQueso Wait, the N64 can separate stuff into channels? Because while it doesn't necessarily have red book quality, I'm pretty sure there's no dedicated soundchip at all
I dont know a lot about n64 hardware but i think you misunderstood. You can mute the midi channels after you put the soundfont on it using a program like flstudio or any midi playing program
@@FrijolesyQueso Yeah, but that's assuming it's midi music. Now, maybe Mario 64's music is midi and you're right, but that's still by no means guaranteed and it's equally as likely that it's just a mp3 equivalent
Well, the intro was pretty good. But the rest of it sounds like the casino is being shut down.

Casino Night Zone - Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Sonic 3D Blast Remix)
In a nutshell.
Sonic 2 was the most OG Sonic game in the sega history.
This might be better than the final version. It's so different with added melodies and new instrumentations. The jumpy Channels 1 & 2 are great. That beginning bit of Channel 0 was nice and all the different instruments fit. Great version and good deconstruction
Nice :D Casino Night Zone Past
Sol Z it’s not the past
@@sourwaii8692 sounds like it
I would think of it as an Act 2, idk just me
@@littleemeraldboy6681 More like act 1, act 2 would be more intense, like in Sonic 3.
Sol Z :D
Casino Night Zone is my fav zone on Sonic 2. Thanks for the funky jams 🤗
My personal favorite zone from back in the day! 😎
Casino *Jazz* Zone Act 1
The beta version of casino night would be slow jazz, while the final version would be swingin' jazz.
This is so nostalgic man
Man, has casino night music change alot during its development, this should have stayed the same from the final product
especially the ending.

@@Adamtendo_player_1 and the final does sound more casino-ish

I didn't know this version of the song even existed. It's pretty freaking cool. I guess they wanted a bit mellower version in the final game.
I'd love someone to mix some of the channels from the Beta version with the Final version!
I like how the psg's make an 8 bit version
5:33 Sonic & Tails sketches of soychols
Channel 0 and dac, best parts
Anyone else here just grooving to Channel 0?
I was shocked when they used the sonic 3 bells
My childhood 💘
..this song wasn’t in the game tho
at the beginning almost everyone is active
If sonic 2's changed every act like sonic 3 i would want this to be act 2's music
its a lil 70s esque cause of the wavy notes and noticeable differences in the wave lengths
Channel 0 is dope

Aaaahp- nono
The tracks might be the same but they are marginally different.
Like this.
Carpathia808 like,cool
The drums are just so wacky😂. The rest i'd say is better than the original.
this is the original
Fuck no the final version of this song is so much better than this. This sounds like it belongs in another game and not Sonic 2!
"The Revenge of Shinobi - Chinatown" please!!!

This would fit well into a Sonic 3D Blast remix.

could you do Segasonic if possible? mame can mute sound chanels if you want to make a Bass+Perc version

They should put this channel 0 in the final
Why do channels 3 and 4 sound... drunk? Other than that, I really like this beta version.
