  • Remove Metal Fallout from your Finish | Adam's Iron Remover
    www.adamspolish...
    There are times when a clay bar or a clay mitt cannot remove all forms of bonded contaminates, mainly metal fallout. Metal particles adhere to vehicles surfaces and begin to rust. This is very obvious when looking at bright paint such as white or silver. Removing these metal filaments is never easier with Adam's Iron Remover. After rinsing a car before washing, simply spray Adam's Iron Remover all over the vehicles surface and let the Iron Remover break down the metal particles. After about 4-5 minutes rinse the car off and move on to washing. After washing, clay bar or clay mitt the car. Once the car is dry and ready for polishing, you can feel the smooth, decontaminated paint.
    Adam's Iron Remover paired with the Clay Bar or Clay Mitt is the absolute best process to fully decontaminate a vehicles painted surface.

    Hey guys, great products. Although, I'm having issues with the iron remover. It stains trim really bad. To the point where I am afraid to use it. In my particular application, it was out of sunlight and in the shade. It was sprayed on numerous vehicles and I experience the same result. It was purchased the week this product was made available. Thanks.

    You don’t have to do a paint correction after the iron remover you can just use spray wax for a clients car if you’re doing something like a maintenance wash I get a lot of people in California they just want maintenance wash and they pay $75-$85 for me to detail their car and I’m averaging about 7 cars a day 6 days a week add the money up

    The fact that they sell this by the gallon is super awesome. I hate paying upcharge retail bottle price on my fallout remover because i take care of my car and 1 that is not mine. So by the gallon is a lot better.
    Also that sprayer idea for fallout cleaner is a good idea.
    I had a bad experience with Riccardo Iron Maiden ...stinks Sooooo bad, worked well, but i'll never use it again.
    Iron X is a bit pricey and im told certain guys dont like to stock it in their warehouse only because it makes it reek.
    So right now i am using Sonax Fallout Cleaner which i am happy with as far as low to no smell/ overall performance.
    While Sonax is cheaper than iron x....it still is like $20-25 a 16oz /473ml bottle.
    -So i am gonna see if i can find This Adam's Iron Remover by the 16oz bottle and if it's good i might switch to their gallon.
    *Good Video tho.*

    • @ShaneTheGeek
      @ShaneTheGeek 2 года назад +1

      Agitating the Iron Remover product is not really necessary due to the fact that its a chemical reaction doing 99 percent of the work. This product is all about saving manual labor during a later clay bar step or reducing the amount you need to clay bar by keeping the most gnarly contaminants at bay (the ones that rust your clear coat!).
      Typically Iron Remover is applied prior to a full wash and wax so you really do not want to be agitating all of the loose dirt and contaminants potentially causing more swirl marks.
      I would do a pressure rinse and blow dry, follow with Iron Remover (let it dwell but not dry for a 3-5 minutes), rinse and then Bug and Tar Remover (let it dwell but not dry) then rinse. Follow with a foam gun soak then rinse then manual hand wash with a spray and wipe wax for a really quick decon maintenance routine once a quarter.

    Adam, quick question regarding using the iron remover AFTER ceramic coating. Will the IR damage or weaken the ceramic and or should you even use it once the ceramic coats been applied? Thanks

    • @AdamsPolishes
      @AdamsPolishes  Год назад +3

      Hi Robert, ceramic coatings are chemical resistant for the most part, so yes you can use Iron Remover on a ceramic coated vehicle, and it will usually help to bring the hydrophobic behavior back even stronger since you are removing contamination from the surface. Iron Remover is a very strong chemical though, so you do not want to let it dry on any surface, or over-use it too frequently. We recommend using it about once a season or at every oil change interval if the paint isn't feeling smooth.

      Hi Jonathan, to be safe, we would recommend to rinse away the Iron Remover residue first - it will be loosening and melting metal contamination, so you do not necessarily want to pull that around on the surface with the clay bar/mitt. I found this on their main website listing for this product "Please note: Adam’s Iron Remover activates with metallic particles, both good and bad. While using this on your finish, be mindful if spraying product near plastic trim or body lines-- this product can stain plastic surfaces if left on for too long or applied to too hot of a surface." Hi Jason, you can, but the Iron Remover most likely will not be as effective. You will want to remove regular dirt, mud, and other build-up first, otherwise the Iron Remover will not penetrate down into the iron deposits as well. At a minimum, we would recommend rinsing the panels with a hose first to remove some dirt, then spray Iron Remover and let it dissolve the iron contamination, then rinse again, and then go through your normal wash process. Do not let the Iron Remover dry onto any surface during use. But overall, the Iron Remover will work best if you wash the vehicle first, then use Iron Remover, then fully rinse the vehicle again.

      "Adam’s Iron Remover introduces the similar iron-activated, low-odor technology found in Adam’s Wheel Cleaner, but it has been reformulated to get to work fast on your paint to remove bonded contaminants embedded into the paint. By thinning out the formula, this allows for the product to lay a thin even layer onto the surface and get to work fast on the surface. Since it is slightly thinner in consistency as well, this allows for a better misting pattern to cover large surface areas on paint."
      It looks like this is a thinner formula than the one specifically made for wheels, but it should work just as well on wheels as it does on paint.

      Hi Car Shops, great question, thanks for asking! You may only need 1-2 oz on some smaller cars or 4 oz or more on larger vehicles. It will also depend on how contaminated the vehicle is and if you are spraying down all paint surfaces, or just the key paint areas that will have more contamination - fenders, door panels and behind the tires, and the trunk/hatch and rear bumper area will typically have the most amount of iron contamination from brake dust.

      Hi there, what kind of vehicle do you drive and in what types of environments? Darker colored vehicles will not show the purple color change as much as a light color like silver or white. High performance brake pads can leave iron deposits on the paint as well, but low-dust ceramic brake pads may not leave any contamination on paint. It also depends on how long you let it sit on the surface - it may take 3 minutes or longer to activate in some cases. You will see the purple effect more on rear bumpers/tailgates, and behind the wheels on most vehicles. Just do not let Iron Remover dry onto any surfaces, and use it in the shade if possible.

    Adam's Iron Remover does not work. Have a 2022 Civic (Black) and a 2023 Camry (Red) washed both cars separately for at least 1 hour between washes, and let them air dry for a few minutes. Sprayed Adam's Iron Remover on the Camry and let stand for 7 minutes so as not to let the car dry completely, there were no Purple marks. Did the same to the Civic and again no Purple marks. Rinsed off the worthless Adam's Iron Remover, dried both cars and waxed them. Waste of money as purchased 1 gallon of Adam's for $55.

      People that take care of their autos and wash and clay them regularly, might not see as much benefit from this product. I'm getting ready to buy a gallon of this product myself if it can be used as a clay lubricant like DIY Iron Remover.

    Is this iron remover safe for coatings?

    • @ShaneTheGeek
      @ShaneTheGeek 2 года назад

      I used Meguiars Detailer Pro Iron Removal Spray and they say theirs is safe on all car surfaces, glass, plastic, vinyls and coated or painted finishes. It is PH neutral so it is safe to the touch but to always wear gloves when applying chemicals. On Adams site it states their product is PH nuetral and safe on clear coat and single stage paint.
