I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel Chris, getting rid of this bloatware is my new top priority.
Recently encountered an issue where my Razer software refuses to run, and does not uninstall either; coincidentally my Discord application also seems to experience the same problem at the same time! Last time I just went ahead and clean reset my whole computer since I couldn't seem to find a fix. It has happened again and I am done with Razer's software as I am sure it is the culprit.
If you happen to have a fix for me I'd love to hear it but regardless I will be taking the advice you provided here to heart!

Great advice. All this time, I've just used Task Manager to disable it as a startup app but I neglected to check for other processes the install put in the system -- turns out all I was disabling was the GUI from loading and the processes were all still there in the background. Those sneaky bastards!
How did you disable everything else?

I literally had to put up with the default rgb for the kraken headset because their drivers drove me crazy. thank you so much for shedding some light on this
I only use the software for my mouse but wondered if I could just remove it after I configured the dpi to 1600 and hz to 1000? Does it need the software to run or have a saved config for the mouse or does it just save the config onto the mouse and then you only need the software if you want to change something?
What about the macroing, and rebinding of buttons? I have a razer naga, with the swappable thumb pads, I have several of those numbered buttons bound to differ keys and macros

I use Razer Synapse to control the button layout scheme and DPI settings for my mouse as well. Is there a better software that can do this? Thanks!

What if you want to get more control over your mouse without synapse? I have a rezer headset and mouse and i need to change some settings such as dpi and hrz or switch from spatial to stereo based on what activity im doing. With openrgb i can control only the useless leds but i cant find a way to control my devices further whitout the razer bloatware. Are there any alternatives?
im not looking for the rgb but is there a way were i can make it faster im using the razer hunstmin mini with reds switches and also you can use ctrl f4 ect for rgb or for smaller keyboard fn ctrl

The part of the script that disabled driver auto-install, this doesn't seem razer specific. Does it disable ALL driver auto-installs?
Hello. My huge problem is that Synapse does not see my Razer Naga Trinity mouse. I can't even change her profiles because of this. But at the same time, all macros continue to work! How can I make this damn program see my mouse again?? Or! Is there any other software compatible with Razer products for creating macros?
what about macro alternative? i imagine that the cynosa built-in "on the fly" macro support would be an exclusive or proprietary kind of deal.
ive glanced at auto-hotkey but not enough incentive at the time to learn it or look at its scope of capabilities.....want macro to auto refresh buffs in game so every 12 seconds hit a key....
is this saying razer cortex bad? or what cortex provides isnt worth what it takes?.......

Hey chris, I used your command script to do all this with razer synapse but I recently got a hyperpolling wireless dongle and for some reason it is not showing in synapse. How would I undo your command script if I wanted to install the hyperpolling wireless dongle update to synapse?
I've had a Razer mouse for a few years. I'm glad to be running Linux now as my daily, as dealing with the Synapse bloat on top of all the Windows shenanigans was a PITA! OpenRGB is a great project, I just hope they can figure out RGB on more AMD GPUs.
rofl too bad linux can't support everything and has more problems to deal with unless you're just browsing the web and checking your email.

@@user-xv9mq Yeah, that's why the Steamdeck runs Linux - to get those games from the 80s running. But the copium must be real, how else would you excuse giving all control of your hardware over to Microsoft and all your data too and to third party collectors as well. And then when the social credit system you helped implement is here, you will be all "I didn't know" and of course "I was just following orders".
That being said. Linux is for children.

Always select CUSTOM option when installing programs, it's the golden ticket out of the bloatware prison. Uncheck everything but the core software you need, sometimes you have to click Decline once or twice but you avoid a lot of unnecessary evil.
Question how will i use 8000hz with my mouse and keyboard.. I thought i had to have tbe software installed to use it???

I have a mouse Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro and I'd like to get ride of that bloatware, but if I'll do that I don't see when the battery drops to 40% (the moment when I'll plug it in for recharging). Do you guys know a method to overcome this?

I don't care about RGB, I use a Razer one handed keyboard and a Naga mouse, however, for gaming. I haven't found an alternative to controlling the keybinds for the Razer Tartarus and Naga.
Razer software is a personal nemis that made me regret buying their hardware that is otherwise really nice. Thank you SO MUCH MAN. How have they been allowed to keep this going? Seriously its almost like they made the software to gimp your system.

Hey Chris, what do you think about Asus' "Armoury Crate" - is this another tool that bloats our systems with services or do you think it is a great way to keep the system drivers up to date?
I would love to be able to get rid of the ASUS software on my laptop as well. It is definitely bloatware.
@@FinalManaTrigger I mean in the past i was used to check on updates two times a year on their website. And it was ok for me. I have pretty fast internet (for german circumstances lol) but Armoury Crate is slow af. Maybe there is a tiny programm like NVcleaninstall which can replace it.

Openrgb does not detect my razer huntsman mini and i have searched for many fixes which didn't end up working.

I've fallen down the rgb rabbit hole. Fans, keyboard, gpu and ram. I decided that I wanted everything tied together to get best use of SignalRGB, but needed a controller for my fans. The Razor Chroma fit the bill, but I had no idea about all the stuff that comes with it. I would have checked it out if I was really happy with the way Signal is coming along.
I use Synapse to show me my Viper pro v2 battery life and to set dpi. What could I use instead?

A little off topic. How about a printer that i fully intend to use locally, but the software constantly asks me to create an online account. Weird.
The only issue I have with this is when installing windows, once it boots into windows and I have a Razer keyboard pluged in, it will prompt me to install their crap. Is there a way to stop this when installing windows? Other than NOT use a razer device when I'm installing windows.
So is it best to just uninstall and reinstall when updates are required and then uninstall again?

I have a huge problem with my Razer laptop on Linux. There is no sound in pulse audio or pipe wire from the speakers. Headphones work just fine, but are not always convenient. This is a very large problem, because I rely on sound only, because I am blind. Does anyone have a fix for this?

I just denied the check for updates on my firewall, so i will get stuck with this version of synapse and thats it.
Also remove the gameservice dependencies , so another process removed.

If you don't install their software how do you use synapse? Is there open source for changing DPI? Macros? If you don't use that stuff then why would you buy Razer in the first place?
Bought this Razer Kiyo Pro Cam and I was shocked that it installed this Razer Bloatware, pretty annoying but I’m not sure if the Can will work without it?

No, in this case third party software does not work as well as software from the actual makers of the product. It's not MS, where others can write better software than the actual MS hardware engineers.

what about changing keymapping? i use a tartarus and i NEED to have the ability to change key mapping but now synapse is causing my games to have insane fucking stutters even after i tried their "fix"
I use SignalRGB which works for my Razer Trinity. I want to uninstall synapse but does anyone know of a remapping software that can work with the trinity for use with the 12 buttons?

I don't like messing with permissions, it's too tedious and isn't portable (it doesn't work on FAT like flash-drives, and not all commands copy them between volumes). I try to adjust permissions as infrequently as possible. What I usually end up doing is to delete the target folder and create an empty dummy file with that same name then set the read-only, hidden, and system attributes. That works for _most_ things (like stopping Unity games from making an Analytics folder with thousands of files).
Wasn't there an exploit where you could plug in a newer razer peripheral. The installer would open and some way you could gain system level privileges?

The problem is that I lost the only feature I was interested in which is macros and I haven't found any solution so far. I wish you a very happy new year and once again thank you for the contents of your channel.
Try AutoHotKey. It takes a little bit of setup and the UI isn't as fancy as Razer's, but it's super powerful and is used widely.
look into QMK keyboards so you don't depend on some crappy proprietary -mal- software suite

I have a razer blade stealth 2019 and I try sooo hardo to get it running with linux with the right drivers for the gpu and at least the rgb keyboard to work and is a nightmare...
Bro, I thought I deleted it and I had a bad feeling so i checked this video and it was still installed kinda just deleted everything that was in the folder.
I used to love using the Razer Orbweaver / Nostromer products (the software wasn't as bad back then).. Once I moved to Linux those controllers became kind of useless since they require the Razer software to change any keybinds. It wouldn't be as bad if those settings would be stored on the device itself, but they insist you use their software and so I stopped using their products.
Please show us how to block HP apps too. I can't block hp system analytics, it updates itself once in a while and starts the processes back.

I love their peripherals.. remember i built a new pc with a Ryzen 9 5900x and the new 7900 xtx. With razers bloatware installed i was idling around 40c+ and when i uninstalled it my idle temp went down to around 30c. this is unacceptable and a shame on their part. OpenRGB is awesome, still need to find a good lightweight macro program and I will be all set.

The headache's I'm having with Razer products & I'm sure many others are the same but people who use Razer's software to change settings on the hardware it self???. The only reason I installed Synapse (The only piece of software I install when I'm prompted to install 500 other pieces of useless software) is to change my mouse DPI, Lift off distance, Power off time after inactivity ect.
The biggest issue of all is I have the Razer Death adder V3, Great mouse but as soon as I close Synapse (Through Task Manager) none of my settings save to the mouse. I've tried tones of research & tried every way possible to not have it pointlessly running in the back round constantly whilst gaming but none of my settings save to the mouse??, It goes back to the out of the box settings. (DPI button with colour coordinated dpi settings, Red - 400dpi Green 800-Dpi ect.).
So frustrating that YOU NEED to have there software open & running just to be able to use the product YOU purchased with YOUR own money to make sure its 110% functioning properly. Find it amusing that in the software settings under the "Auto Launch Synapse when windows starts" section it says "Note: Disabling Razer Synapse may affect your device's functionality." Key words there "May affect"... Bullsh*t more like "DOES affect it". Spend $250.00AU on a mouse that i cant use proeperly unless i run synapse. Any one found a soloution??

You're not wrong actually, I bought a razer viper ultimate earlier this year in a sale, and the software I flat out refused to install its horrible.
