They absolutely do but I'm hesitant to call it Wonderstone as that name generally refers to rocks found in Nevada and Utah so I just used the common name Flow Banded Rhyolite 👍
@paulhardie I'm from Utah. That's why I said it. Haha... but there might be other forms of it in Australia. The wonder stone here doesn't polish up very well.
I'm fairly sure it's the same stuff, I did a batch of it last year with some pretty good results, see attached. ruclips.net/video/zQ64ij5-n64/видео.htmlsi=8zeACCaNOhatRXWe
Well that was a really fun adventure with lots of colourful rocks! Now it's time for you to have some fun cutting and polishing some of these beauties 😁
Thank you Kylie, these will join the already long backlog of rocks ready to be cut and polished, the main reason for the trip was to get some more of the Dendritic Opalite with the dark translucent areas, I've had a few people ask for it 👍
Thank you Gordon, I've said it before and I guess I'll keep saying it 😁the amount and variation of rocks we have here is truly amazing and no one appreciates it more than me ☺
Great rocks as always Paul! You got me hooked on the dendritic opalite, tumbling some of what I got from you now. Looks incredible so far! Probably have to get some more😀
Another great video Paul, again jealous of the opalite spots you have over there compared to what I have. I do have a banded rhyolite spot not far from me, will send you some pictures as it looks totally different to what you are finding
@@paulhardie Australia does not issue visas to everyone, and rightly so. The migration officer needs to provide convincing evidence that you have the motivation to return home...
Cool rocks again 🥰. Does the banded rock polish up well? Amazing colours and patterns. Still loving the Dentritic opal.❤ I could wander out there looking for rocks for weeks 😂.
Me too, the only reason I came home was I ran out of room . . . that and I missed my bed 😄 The banded stuff polishes up reasonably well, I did a batch last year, see attached. ruclips.net/video/zQ64ij5-n64/видео.htmlsi=8zeACCaNOhatRXWe
@@paulhardie yeah nice! I checked out the tumbling vid 😁. Have you tried cerium oxide? If mine don’t polish I try cerium and see if they polish better 🤷♀️. It usually works and you don’t have to use as much either. Probably need half of what you use for aluminium oxide.
@@jg5930 I tried Cerium Oxide once and it highlighted every tiny little flaw in red 😆 I still have some here along with some Tin Oxide but I'm very much a creature of habit 😄
Bit hard to see but it looks like banded Chert, either way some lovely colours and patterns. From the slide show it looks sandstone, does it take a polish or is it grainy?
Thanks Jeff, good suggestion but I'm fairly sure it's not Chert, I've collected a fair amount of Chert and it's a lot denser than this stuff, Chert takes a really nice polish, this can be a bit hit and miss 😀

Great rocks again.
Yes, once again so lucky to be able to get in my car, grab a few buckets of beautiful rocks and drive home 👍
Hi Paul. As always a great video., Thanks.. Jane
Thank you Jane ☺

Cool stones. Australia is my dream...
Let me know if you ever make it over here, we sure are spoiled for rocks ☺
Not earlier than in 2 years. Now they won’t even issue me a tourist visa...
