Good job gentleman. Your father would be proud of your passion and commitment to honoring his legacy. Stunning cars and good people. Thank you for sharing.
I can't find my local Pontiac dealer 😕
Pontiac went out of business
@@thedailyshaver1171
That’s part of the joke.
My dad grew up with this car. It would be amazing if I could buy him this in the future. That would be the best gift he's ever gotten. I honestly can't wait to get him one.
I’d love to have one of these transams , wow
I think it's awesome that you're doing this with your son. Reminds me of when my Dad and I used to work on our '78 Trans Am together. I really miss him today and wish we could still share moments like that.
I wish Burt Reynolds could see this new 2020 body style.
they've been making these for ydears and he has seen them did a video with one even
@@Murica_gaming not this body style.. he has seen the older styles but passed before this new facelift
Australia calling. We want one.
The Gold Rush with Shake Your Heart and blow your mind continues 0-60 in 3.2seconds and in the 1/4 mile 9.52...top speed let's not forget going to the moon and back 208nph..10
My uncle owned one in 79
Always remember him pulling up in the driveway with his newborn baby....
RIP Patway.....
Is no one going to address the elephant in the room that GM abolished the Pontiac brand, yet we are seeing the revival of the Pontiac Trans Am right here...?????
The gold car is beautiful 🔥🔥🔥
If like me you were a kid in the 80s who turned on the tv and began a love affair with the Trans Am then your jaw just hit the floor, like mine. 😍
Beautiful tribute to an incredible nameplate! Thank you for sharing !!!
Polyphony needs to add these bad boys to GT7.
All heart is yours!
Nice work! Mehran from San Deigo
Wow amazing
Now that is a new car that I’d actually consider buying !
Agree
Amen!
Me to. I love those aftermarket F- Body, 7T7 Trans Am's, problem is, I've NEVER see even ONE on the road.
Better yet would love to drive one! I wanna say they made from the Camaro body, around 2011-2013!?!?!?
Ok now, did u get that car..!?? I mean, buying..!!?
@@thebacdoc6464
The people that could afford to buy these kit cars were collectors and kept them in their garages.
Although I like original gold Transam, I must say that it's indeed sad to see the amount of dislikes on this video. They've converted the modern Transam in remembererence and tribute to their father!!!! And for even family to come together for a project BEYOND FAMILY TIME during the holidays is THE REAL IMPORTANT MOMENTS!!! It came out pretty well guys!!! Job well done!!!! 👏❤🙌👍😃😀
Jared Bridgeman well said
From what I understand they mixed the Camaro beafy body style with the old school camaro and totally Bitched out the back end, I love them keeping the hood bird though.
@@warriorlife6988 wow a good mixture so you might say that this is three gen cars in one!!! 😃👍
@@statenmorgan962 thanks bro respect!!! 👍
🤩
I'm a Mustang boy............but these are awesome. And what a superb way to honor your father. Respect!
They have to make a Knight Rider Edition now
i want a silver edition like the 1979 or 80
Now that would sound good though. ( “ Night Rider” with a Modern look to it ) 👍🏻
@@milowrey4843
I’ve never seen a silver edition Trans Am.
Got pics?
If it's a Knight Rider edition it's gotta be BLACK with the red light across the front! Silver? Get the F out of here with that! Sure silver would be an amazing color for a TA heck any color on a TA is gonna look good but Knight Rider HAS to be BLACK!
These cars need to be put in Forza and Need For Speed
Dat mat do u think the trans am super duty 455 dragcar beat the dodge demon
Marco Jordan it does already lol
@@marcojordan1368 yeah it would, it's lighter and has more horsepower
Skullbreaker u have the video then
transamdepot when I win the lottery, be prepared because I’m gonna order 5 or 6 of those cars! Probably 6 lol 😂
Me too😍
Hey GM bring back Pontiac then hire these 2 brothers as head designers. Talk about a no brainer.
Undoubtedly.
Then also have them redesign the Fiero as well! Done deal. Pontiac would be on top again in no time!
Pontiac would sell cars like hot-cakes 😂
The cars looks nice better than a camaro and r.i.p burt
When you realise you can buy an aircraft for the same amount of money...
A Trans Am is an aircraft. If you have the chance to drive or sit in one you'll see why.
19:39 "I can guaruntee there are 2 things you would find when you sat in my dads car, a pack of tictacs and a 1611 King James Bible." Amazing quote. what a tribute. what a car.
My favorite.
I can’t believe all the negative comments on this video. Stay positive people. Life is too short.
not everything in life is unicorns and rainbows. let people vent when needed , it's part of life too....
and dont judge...
cheers !!
0:40.........For plenty of power...... when you need it the most
[Car just strolls by the camera]
Marketing 101 was blatantly ignored in this old commercial.
this made me laugh lol
bring back Pontiac
True
Love their cars... If Chevy discontinues camaro in a couple years these will be even more valuable.
Bring it back.............. all of it! The worst thing that GM ever did...............give up on Pontiac! Thank you guys.
Phil DiEgidio GM didn’t give up on Pontiac. Consumers did
Should have ditched camaro and keep trans am
We need a real 👑 billionaire ,that doesn’t mind taking risk ..to bring back Pontiac.
All you have to do is bring back the most popular in demand models ..for customers that will pay first ,then take it from there .
P.s. ...don’t get lazy and start putting out garbage 🗑 cars 🚗
Show videos of these cars blowing FORD AND DODGE out of the water
My favorite car of all time is the Pontiac Trans Am. As a kid I remember the Trans Am being the first car to spark excitement in my seven year old imagination then only to be fueled by Knight rider and the Bandit. The day Pontiac died it broke my heart. I still haven't caught that elusive phoenix yet but my passion is stronger than ever and soon I will have one to call my own. I love the passion and dedication Trans Am Depot have for this iconic machine. The story of his dad's Trans Am choked me up. Thank you for keeping it alive.
What you fellas do is amazing! You could re establish Pontiac as a whole brand! Just pitch your idea to Chevy and GM.
honestly Chevy should make a Trans Am trim level for the Camaro and slowly bring it back.
So chevy killing off the Camaro
Burt Reynolds was the legend who made Trans Am the global iconic car that it is.
This was a random recommended video. And it's amazing that it showed up. My first vehicle was a 77 Trans Am 6.6L Y82 car that sat in a neighbor's yard under a tree. I worked out a deal when I was 13 that I would cut his grass and edge the curb, driveway, and walkway every week during spring and summer and once a month during fall and winter until I was 17 and he would give me the car. The only thing wrong with it was the engine had a blown head gasket. So after school I was reading Chilton and Mitchell service manuals to learn how to pull the heads. When I started driving my first job was at my local GM dealership as a line technician. I told many techs about my car and nobody believed the story. Until! I turned 17 and I was handed the keys and the original bill of sale and registration for the car. I immediately pulled the heads off and went to a machine shop owned by a friend of the family. I then apprenticed with him for a few months to pay for the valve job and other machine work and a head gasket set. I put my engine back together and by that time it needed a master cylinder, and wheel cylinders. So I took the reliable Nissan Maxima i had and sold it to buy what I needed. Over that weekend I fixed the brakes, and bleed the brake system. Bought 4 new tires and a new battery. Monday I skipped school and detailed my T/A and Tuesday was the most popular kid in school. When I left school to go to the dealership I pulled up to the service writers desk and cleared the 400's throat. I TOLD YOU I HAD A TRANS AM! The owner was in shock. I guess he thought I was a fool and offered me $2,000 for the car. I told him that "nothing less than blood sweat and tears would ever buy this car". And I have 5 minutes to get clocked in so I need to go park it. He said if you're not going to sell me the car then I'm going to fire you and you'll fail automotive tech for the year. I told him that is fine. See I am actually a really good student and I had enough credits at the beginning of the year to graduate with honors. So I quit, and you'll never own this car. I drove back to school and told my instructor what had happened. He passed me with 100 anyways despite the rule if you get fired or quit you automatically fail. I kept my car and in original condition until 2009 when a uninsured driver t-boned me going to a shop to have his car looked at because he had no brakes. The driver never paid a dime for that. All I could do is have his license suspended until he pays me. The worst part is that my car was valued at $1100. That's it. But since he has shown no remorse for destroying my car even if he comes up with the money I'm not releasing his license for a penny less than 20k. I understand the sentimental value of a vehicle like this family. I hope they either have their fathers T/A or find it one day.
They are beautiful cars no doubt about that. The only people who can afford them are extremely wealthy people. Not a car for just your average joe and that people is what’s wrong with this day and age we live in. Normal hard working people that deserve nice things can’t afford one of these cars.
man this is great, i was smiling all 24 mins of this
This tore me up. You guys should get that 8mm film transferred to digital so it'll last forever.
we need these in forza horizon 5
Not sure if anyone noticed he said they milked a 1100 cows a day. That is a big dairy farm and that's twice a day seven days a week. My hats off to who ever worked that farm. To anyone who has anything bad to say about these guys must not have any idea what kind of work it take to run a farm that size. I know from personal experience what it takes but on a much smaller level. My first car was a 78 Firebird no motor no transmission and my 2and car was a 78 Trans Am. So I understand how these guys feel about the Trans Am and other Pontiac cars. I would give anything for them to take my 2018 2SS 1le and turn it in to a worldwide Trans Am. The only thing stopping me is the small fee they charge to make dreams come true. Lol. I can't complain the good lord has aloud me to get up every morning and work hard for what I do have and I am very grateful. I wish these guys all the luck in the world and I hope that people that can afford these keep buying them I love that they have kept the Trans Am dream alive.
BigC my respect brother!
That 78 gold Trans Am is identical to the one I bought back in 79! I saw it at a Dodge dealership used it had six thousand miles on it It had the 400 TA Pontiac motor it cost me my first and only night in jail for street racing!😂
You guys are absolute geniuses. What a beautiful car. It encompasses everything that the TRANS AM name is!! Im very proud of what you have done! Way to make that PHOENIX FLY INTO THE FUTURE!! KEEP UP THE UNTOUCHABLE WORK!!
I think you have the wrong song for gold rush. Well fitting for the Deadliest Catch. Remember what Pontiac Built a Mid Engine car the GM slammed the Breakes on it. It was ment to have upto 400 ci Engine or 350 ci but GM did some figuring and new it would make the Corvette look slow and preform horribly in its wake. It was called the Fierro. Me and a buddy couldn't believe the amount of engine bay after a 350 ci engine was installed. We then started discussing placing a 400 or 427 ci engine in it. It was like riding the lightning.
Don Hanson u think trans am super duty 455 beat demon
How about a new knight rider?
What a great car and a great tribute to your father. Great job Scott and Todd, along with Trans Am Worldwide!
Wow, that's touching. I love tans am's, awsome:)
I think this calls for another Smokey and the Bandit. R.I.P Burt Reynolds.
The Camaro and Trans Am shared the same body, so no one should be trashing these guys. They’re doing the same thing GM would do....
Brian C WELL SAID !!!
Needs a real Pontiac engine not the Chevy junk under the hood
Byron McElfresh 455 EFI Big Block V8 lol
I really like the build and the story, I still see these modern versions as a 69 camaro. I cant get past the body shape, there is nothing like an original 2nd gen TA for me. I do love the 69 ta tribuite car though. Some day I hope to see a full custom 70s styled body on one of these. If anyone could bring back pontiac these guys could. Thanks for the video
“400ci engine for power when you need it most.”
-cut to scene of T/A driving 7mph.
I’ve had a ton of these I still have my Black and gold 76 it’s made it thru 3 divorces! I sometimes can’t believe I’ve had it over 20+ years.
Mike Stlouis that's awesome
I hope to have my nova for years as well
Just passed the two years anniversary 2 days ago
Do you have jacket and the hat?
Lol Similar Story? Own a 76 purchased @ 22yrs old Survive two divorce Chevy 454 tho? Going 496, now 66yrs old not as Daring! Lol.
IF G.M went back to it's roots and build cars with American pride in mind. Just look at Dodge nuff said. But I'll give G.M credit for the 2020 vette. Now they need to follow suit with the rest of the lineup. Camaro, monte carlo, nova, chevelle, impala, Grand National. Skylark.
Olds hurst 442. Remember G.M if you build it they will come.

What's Wrong The Camaro?! The ZL1 1LE is Bad ass
THIS IS EVERYTHING! I’m at a loss for words. I live in Japan. I’ve seen a lot of cars in my days on this planet. I’ve seen good builds, bad builds, USDM, JDM,, German builds, Italian supercars, restoration projects and what not, but I’ve finally been caught off guard. I am going to share this video. I hope I have an opportunity to see this car some day.. WOW! The last thing I will say is this, and I can’t believe I’m actually going to post this. I can’t believe this thought is even my head. ( OH GAWD HERE IT COMES ). This is how you make America great again.
SpinRush RC Right on , when you have to check back America from it’s “ Roots “ to Bring back Something that needs to be in place from such a long time.
GM just needs to bring Pontiac back.
Amen and amen. Also, amen.
They _really_ didn't want to but the numbers pushed them. As with anything made now, everything has to pander to Chinese audiences. What did they buy most of over there? Buick... for some reason. So by technicality Pontiac (and Saturn) had to be dropped after filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Go Aztec!!!
Or at least sell it as a package upgrade for the Camaro..
The Birds My Word never should have shut it down. They should have made better cars. Look at what they did in the fifties Thru the seventies and look at the products afterwards. The best looking thing was that solstice. Still looks good if you can find one. Other than that they were kinda sad. Shame on the general.
Time for remake of Smokey and the Bandit
My 02 Ws6 is the best car I’ve ever owned. The feeling of that Ls with the t-56 will be timeless.
The new Camaro weighs 4k pounds. I think your car weights like 3500. All the new LS engines can be swapped into your car easily too.
problem is, regular hard working blue collar folk raising a family cant even afford one of these damn things anymore...
no way is the retail price justifiable...
everything is freaking over priced these days..
I'm a regular hard working truck driver. You can change your situation by changing your mindset. I am and sooner than later I will own one. Change your mindset and doors will open man.
@@nasimwehbe8410 well , but everyone's situation is different...
hard work or not , my mind set is to get my 3 kids threw school keep their doctor Bill's paid and pay off my mortgage ....
I was just making a point of how everything is to damn expensive anymore.....
if I changed my particular mindset to buy a 40k muscle car my family would suffer my bad choice....
@@awakeningblacksheep9610 if you changed your mindset with time you will be able to afford whatever car you choose. But I understand, things are more expensive today. They are not beyond reach though. I used to think the same way. That I could never afford the things that I really liked, or why this person or that person but not me. But that mindset changed and with time things started to get better. Brother, I'm a high school dropout with no GED, I've busted my ass day in and day out (as I'm sure you do as well).. I was tired of the grind and not moving forward. I was financially illiterate and really didn't understand how money works. But I'm learning now. Look I didn't mean to offend you. If I did I truly apologize. If you would like, I can link you to a great audio book right here on RUclips that helped me to begin to change my mindset. All you have to do is listen. Well you have yourself a great night.
Need to bring back the trans am. I'll buy one.Had a 79 trans am.
Nice work . I never seen this gen Camaro look good until now.
GM made a stupid decision dropping Pontiac instead of Buick......
I don’t understand why?! Pontiac was their version of SVT for Chrysler, AMG for Mercedes, M for BMW, it was because of them their Chevy Cameros and Corvettes were so freaking awesome!
Should of dropped Chevrolet not buick or Pontiac. Pontiac was always nicer than Chevrolet. Pontiac built excitement.
In 1979 I finally started making enough money to buy a car I wanted. So I found a 76 Vette from a dealer near my house. We agreed but the Vette needed motor mounts. Upon returning to sign the deal the Vette was gone. The dealer told me a Lady came in, had to have it , and paid the window sticker price. Then I saw it. A Myan red 78 Trans Am. Black velour interior, automatic. Hood decal delete. What a nice car. It had a Pioneer stereo system with cassette. The car handled so nice for its size, Radial Tuned Suspension. All I did was remove the resonator for some added grunt. Boy would I love to have the new 455 Super Duty Trans Am. What a great job I love it.
Tim Mitzlaff my dads friend has a low km red 455 super duty I got the chance to polish it one time beautiful car
That’s the same car I had in 1978. Just like that one- no T-tops. Same wheels. Mine had manual windows no 8 track or cassette. I added a cassette deck later. Northern winter weather (salt) got to the body. But that engine still ran with power by the time I sold it.
They should just make Pontiac the performance premium model of Chevy ... just make it a sub brand
Just subscribed! I'm a lover of vehicles man! Touching story and an awesome ride!
GM please take notes!!!
Great Documentary This Was An Amazing Story !! 👍🏾
People are amazed by these new Camaros and hellcats and chargers and stuff this car I pretty much think it would top all them and then some this is a real true car to show off in.
The only reason I drive a Camaro is Pontiac's demise.
These are the best built and best looking cars ever built in the history of automobiles.
Id love to see yall do a modern day knight rider k.i.t.t
great advice time does fly, ten years feels like five. Never take family for granted, there only there once.
As a former owner of a '78 Gold Special Edition, you can imagine this was a real joy to watch!
"Road performance"
*Car slowly goes around a turn*
It's a good tribute to your dad. Are you guys need to do is put your dad's name on it somewhere? Only thing Is missing on the car. Appreciate the work. You guys do keep up the good work. See you on the next video.
What songs are in this video?
I would like a special Knight Rider edition ....
Simply awesome 👏🏻 well done
I own a darn near perfect GOLD '79 Trans-Am. There is nothing like driving a classic.Mine is NOWHERE NEAR as FAST as this, but I don't care.Don't get me wrong...these NEW (Camaro) T/A's are REALLLLLY COOL,but I would still take my 41 year old car over this any day.
I think this car its looks more agresive then camaro
Trans am always had a more aggressive look over Camaro
My dad had an original 78 trans am in Y88 solar gold with the w72 6.6 Pontiac 400 with an automatic in it. He kept that car longer than any other car hes ever owned. Right around 15 years. I wish he wouldn't have sold it. I tried so hard to get him to hold onto it, but he said he couldn't afford to restore it like he wanted. I'd love to be able to get him a fully restored 78 just like he had, or one of these new ones as they are absolutely incredible. My grandfather worked at a Pontiac dealership his entire life, so my family always had Pontiacs when I was growing up. They made a bad mistake getting rid of them. GM wouldn't be able to make enough new trans ams to keep on the lot nowadays.
SO WELL DONE, CONGRATS FROM A FORMER 78 TA OWNER N LOVER, IT WAS MY FIRST "REAL" CAR!
Gm is too cheap to put this I to production they scared it will fail and have to discontinue it like they are doing to the camaro for the 2nd time... gm is so lame...
Fake news.
GM need to change their name from GENERAL MOTORS to Private 2nd Class Motors!! General's are leader's as was GM b4 da late 1970's... now they want to hide out in da background and hope to get a honorable mention!!! Dodge and Ford are killing them and they won't even respond except to kill off the Camaro again!!!! So pathetic!! They will loose me for good.
Finally a Gold Bird
Great Story.
Did you guys manage to get the Trade Mark rights to the Pontiac logo or even Trans Am? I'm curious how that works exactly.
Also, I bleed Pontiac red. It would be a dream come true just to see that car in person, let alone even just to touch it. What a beautiful car.
I'd rather have the 77 trans am , the new one looks like a Camaro gone wrong
Damn its beautiful! take my money!!!
More important than just the car, it's the story and what it means. The memories and sharing a passion among three generations. The love that becomes a physical object in a form of art and function. Incredible machines and a great story.
If I had the money, I would definitely own one of these works of art.
You can just see the passion that goes in each vehicle, it's a love that a lot of Automotive companies have lost.
Never forget the day my dad brought home his dark red 80 trans am. Worse day ever when i was forced to sell it. These cars are amazing. Hopefully one day I'll have another.
Great homage to your dad..loved the line ..”tic tacs and an AV 1611 King James Bible” ..love what you’re doing ..
My first car was a 1978 Gold T/A W72 4 speed (Y88 wannabe). I currently own a 1978 Martinique Blue, 15k mile all original survivor car, and a 1978 Gold Y88 car, like your dad's ('cept mine is an L78 auto), with 34,500 miles. Pretty sure I am in for one of the new gold ones!
What a great idea, interpreting what a Trans Am might look like if Pontiac were still producing cars. If you're a Pontiac enthusiast it must be great to be able to see the heritage continue. My dad was a Pontiac man so I hate it that the division was shuttered, but it still lives. Great job.
The gold rush is nothing but Respect. well done
GM Fucked up getting rid of the Pontiac. The only GM product I liked. I have a 72 and two 79 T/As.
Why isn't GM doing cars like this from factory !
Rip to burt Reynolds aka the bandit you will never be forgotten
They can remake the T/A , but No way is there a new and better Burt.
I LOVE THE CAR! BUT YOU CAN STILL SEE CAMARO! THE SIDE SMALL WINDOW SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN OUT. IT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CAMARO AND TRANS AM!
Like, just put a piece of sheet metal there.
Thought it were more the front ends were the visual indicator between both Trans-Am and Camaro.
