This was not always the cast with the Holden Monaro and the Pontiac GTO, +devin johnson. The reality is that the Holden Monaro was actually built upon a slightly longer and wider version of the Chevrolet Nova/Buick Apollo/Pontiac Ventura/Acadia Ventura/Pontiac Phoenix/Buick Skylark platform, which was the GM A Frame Body back in the 1970s, I think.

I'm wondering if its possible to take the body off and adapt the early firebird's body onto this chassis's n engine n running gear have one hell of a automobile indeed
Man, I have a Dodge Challenger Hell Cat and now I got to get a Bandit Car. I owned a black and gold Trans-am and this thing rocks! Dog gone, I thought I had the best of the best with the Hell Cat, now the Demon and the Trans-am too? I'm in heaven!
so glad they are making these again. been wanting one since I was 11. when I got old enough and had the money to get one they discontinued them. I love these new ones. one day ill have one
I think if Pontiac was still in business they should of offered a build your own car platform. Now let me get this straight. The high end models 110k Pontiac. Now let's do the math. Buy the SS Camaro 30k for a base model. Then remove the engine buy a new custom built Sonny Leonard's 727ci engine 1400hp on pump gas naturally aspirated for 57k and still be cheaper then buying this car. 87,000$ total. I would not buy this car. To much money. Even if you had to buy accessories of 8k to make everything work you would still be under budget for this car. You would still be at 95k. 15k less then their high end model Pontiac has to offer for the trans am. I say build your own. Production cars are not the way to go. People need to look at the price they are paying for a ready built car. Just because you don't know how to build your own don't mean you can't learn. For 110k I think I would be learning. Although I build my own now. I build racecars, and restore classic cars also. Building one for me is no problem
Bob Silver Don’t be a fool bringing new world order shit into the world of motoring, your car isn’t sending information to the god damn government... not yet anyway
I am a Pontiac fan...I have built a 79 firebird trans-am recently with the big 455 olds in it..by far one of the most fun's car to drive from the 70's awesome builds..wish Pontiac would come back and revenge on all Ford and Dodge products...
I'll let you in on something, the Firebird was first, that's why Firebirds and Camaros are "F" bodies. Chevy flipped out about the Firebird being on the way and were determined to get in the pony car wars, so, they pushed through the Camaro. That's why the Camaro has always looked like an unfinished Firebird, which is exactly what it was.
Doesn't matter which design was first on the table camaro was first on the showroom floor in '67 firebird in'68. So ya camaro was first. These are a great representation of a firebird imo I'd love to drive one
I just got in a big argument with a dude the other day. He thinks these are being built by Pontiac. And they're coming off an assembly line. I said do Pontiac went under 2009 these are built from Camaros converted to private people's visions not a car company. It's amazing how much the American public is so clueless to life and reality
lol, I'm finding the comments to be pretty funny. I guess most of you guys are Camaro fans? I think the newer Camaros are ugly, and this actually looks better. Ha!
I'm obviously a camaro guy I own one and I think the new one is good looking but I think my 5th gen is better looking. But the 6th gen you can't argue it's the better performer. The v6 1le spanked the mustang gt for god sakes.
No, they've taken an ugly car and made it uglier. Just buy an original Trans Am, they're dirt cheap even in flawless garage-kept condition at the moment and look a million times better than these abominations.
I'm with Frank, what's wrong with them!? I thought that add a cool accent to the car, something even more attention-grabbing, than all that outstanding performance and paint.
Awesome cars....why didn't they change the steering wheel badging?? 3:36 The steering wheel has 6.2L badge on it, but they swapped out the 6.2 for a 454, which is 7.4L? If I owned the car, I would want to proudly be displaying that I had a big old 454, especially in the Trans Am.
I agree with you. Another thing they should have done was swap out the dash it would look more like a trans am then the chevys failed attempt at trying to bring back an iconic body style.
Bill Blast there are alot of different styles they have some that keep the 6.2 they also have a 1100hp for the old style they will litteraly ask you what you want and custom build what ever it is
devin johnson I must have missed the part that there was different size engine, I did hear them say they had different horsepower's. I must have been drooling over the cars when they said that. Thx to you to yourself & +Llia Olsen for your info.

Would have been a great media piece had you not dropped the f-bomb. Why? A spotlight on these guys deserves better than that; should have edited it out.
A used one will probably still run about a 100 grand. Wonder if these vehicles new or used can be found on car gurus or auto trader and if so under what brand?
I've always loved the firebird and these are absolutely gorgeous, especially the bandit edition. I'd get one even if it wasn't signed by Burt and NOBODY but me, myself and I would drive it, EVER!!!!
both camaro's and fire birds/ trans ams are on the same body platform. Usually just appearance difference and motor difference do to one being a chevy and other pontiac
why not restore an original trans am with updated tech instead of making a "modern" version that looks like a Camaro that gained a few pounds and got a facelift...
TheNerdyCanadian Probably because that's been done for a long time now by many companies. I respect these guys taking a stab at something that hadn't been done before.
TheNerdyCanadian Dude, Camaro's and Fire Birds have always looked like each other, say for the brake lights. You are just a silly man saying silly things to trigger people on the *RUclips*.
The gen 1&2 cars are uni-body sub frame abortion for one. Gen 3 I believe was uni-body but not rigid at all. Gen 4 car are full uni-body construction and much more rigid. Also the gen 4 car were designed with convertible in mind and that matters when adding T-tops. You can mod the old chassis to handle the power but the are narrow beyond gen 1 not all that light to begin with. To make them worth it the should have used aluminum Pontiac 400 and 455 with custom superchargers that allowed the shaker hood to actually function or just stick with cloning modern Gen 1 Trans-Ams
In 1978 I was looking to buy a four speed Trans Am, but for some stupid reason that wasn’t an option that year, but it was on the Z28 Camaro - so I ordered one so I could get exactly what I wanted: four speed with 3.70 posi trac differential, optional wheels with Goodyear tires and deep blue paint it cost 7,200 dollars.
Lol, it has a completely different engine, a supercharger, suspension, and exhaust. According to him, over 300 different parts including custom interior work, and heavy alteration to the body to make those T-tops. All that plus the body kit. I'd give those guys a little bit more credit on their build. They did more than Pontiac did when they brought back the GTO.
Stephen Schafer Yes, I made a spelling mistake. You and the people thumbing up must be perfect in your life too. Act like you never made a spelling mistake.
Omar Ibrahim you could. all of the stuff apart from the bodywork looks to be off the shelf stuff. ( excluding the camshaft , but there's plenty of places that will make you a cam)
Kinda glad to see the F-body came back when it did. Really like the newest Camaro, and also like the looks of what these guys have come up with. Thank god GM made it a 2 door. Not like when they brought back the Impala SS only available in 4 doors. Didn't Mopar come out with some 4 door only muscle cars too? No offense to anyone that may have one but I'm old school and find it hard to get excited about a sedan sports car.

lol was thinking the same... I think it' cos it the ugliest part of the car...too late and expensive to go back and fix it!
You've never seen an ugly girl with a nice ass? How bout a "ButterFace"?
a shot of your rear probably looks better 😉
There's a little peek at 5:16.
I think the car looks pretty good, but I think those color changing led halos look tacky on this vehicle
swalling22 you mean they look incredibly tacky even the birds in question, takes away from how seriously you take the car
Mike Picker yeah the car has potential but not for that price
Mike Picker + hello, what does it mean to have a(n) unofficial collector item, they did mention that, like Star Wars and Star Trek item's
Ron Edwards it means unofficial guy anything "unofficial" isnt worth anything really, not even with blood sweat and tears in any spectrum, cars, toys, music, its up there with it being a fake, sorry guy but I stay away from anything even labeled "unofficial" just my two cents though
I was going to say the very same thing, those headlights really need to go.
I'm a huge fan of the of the Trans Am since I was a kid. I can't wait to see the new Trans Am.
The Pontiac T/A needs to come back and in the 68 body style look to blow everything away
77-78
Great video
I'm not a American muscle car fan
But I love this
I'm wondering if its possible to take the body off and adapt the early firebird's body onto this chassis's n engine n running gear have one hell of a automobile indeed
The Trans-Am is a FIREBIRD....Not the other way around.
williamg2552 nope its the other way around
OMG THAT CAR IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!
I HAD A CARGASM FROM THE THUMBNAIL!!!!
Must be big bucks for that conversation! Beautiful car man!
They finally returned the trans am love i it go bandit👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That's a beauty!
After I win the lottery, I'm getting one! LOL!
Whoever started this entire thing is my idol.
Rich Smithereens
The only thing that is not a problem for me on maps
have you seen the new hyundais
Trans am were always upgraded camaros so I get it and I think they're clean af!
Quinton Williams Trans Am were upgraded Firebird .. in between was the Formula .
and the firehawk was above the trans am.
Holt j Firehawk wasnt production . It was a mod performed in Canada by the same company that does Saleen Mustang...
I had a 89 Formula . My sis had the Formula 350 . Very cool cars.
callit likeitis What was different besides the body and interior?both gm
so glad they are making these again. been wanting one since I was 11. when I got old enough and had the money to get one they discontinued them. I love these new ones. one day ill have one
those colored headlights have to stop
amen...
The blue ones are blinding to others on the road.
If I had one of these Id change that.
DVincentW blue lights on non emergency vehicles are illegal in most, if not all, states in the US
@@sergeantchaos4670 in germany, i think everywhere in europe, too...
My state doesn't care at all for people with blue headlights
All i can say is..........WOW!
Thanks is just a word.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Do your upgrades void the warranty? Are you sanctioned by the manufacturer? When you're done is there a new title?
Very nice, but I'll keep my real and pristine 1979 Pontiac Trans Am.
hell yea man, while these things are nice...they are certainly not true screaming chickens
and my 76 resto mod 6-speed with a lowly 600hp...
And these new cars are New World Order machines, they know everything about you, and how you drive.
Bob Silver Don’t be a fool bringing new world order shit into the world of motoring, your car isn’t sending information to the god damn government... not yet anyway
With 185 hp
I am a Pontiac fan...I have built a 79 firebird trans-am recently with the big 455 olds in it..by far one of the most fun's car to drive from the 70's awesome builds..wish Pontiac would come back and revenge on all Ford and Dodge products...
What do you think trans ams and firebirds were...? Camaros and z28s with diff mods.
Keith H you mean z28s and Camaro were fire bird's and trans ams , they were the original design not the other way around
I think without the badge that says Pontiac it's not a trans am in my opinion.
Keith H I had a 72 fire
bird. lots of shit was different than the camaros back then..the newer years only had the ends front and rear different
American Muscle Baby!!! 😎😎😎
Man o Man o Man,,,, that Bandit... The absolute, ultimate car you could EVER EVER own. Its almost like I I can't even watch these videos.
If you're a Poser!!
Ha!
The new camaro looks like every other Japanese import now.
I'm obviously a camaro guy I own one and I think the new one is good looking but I think my 5th gen is better looking. But the 6th gen you can't argue it's the better performer. The v6 1le spanked the mustang gt for god sakes.
MrIblap lol! I really like the car but this made me laugh
No, they've taken an ugly car and made it uglier. Just buy an original Trans Am, they're dirt cheap even in flawless garage-kept condition at the moment and look a million times better than these abominations.
LOL it's a nice car to see that somebody else have it... It will make me laugh and recomfort myself and my taste.
The wheels are sick AF y'all have really hit the nail on the head
Pleeeeeease stay open till I'm older!!!!
So you can show off pulling up to your high school? Yeah sounds like a plan.
OK 840HP and 720tq what's the 0-60 and 0-100?
Dude !!! I watched this video many times.. that is my dream car !
why in the hell would you ruin a car with those headlights
what's wrong with them?
OGSwagKillaP BeAstMoDe69 they have the _option_ of changing color. did you really think they were permanently like that?
I'm with Frank, what's wrong with them!? I thought that add a cool accent to the car, something even more attention-grabbing, than all that outstanding performance and paint.
JoeyBeanz
Because they hate the bmw but yet everyone wants those lights lol the bmw e39 m5 did that so this consider dick riding
You're obviously NUTS!
@0:53 “A Stock 6.2L ‘Normally’ Aspirated car”
Haha doesn’t he mean “Naturally Aspirated”
Little Wolf Normal and natural aspiration are the same thing when talking about cars... now you know...
That’s legit the same thing no matter what lmao...
❤️ ❤️❤️❤️T/As. I still have one, a 1978. Needs to be restored
I think he mentioned there were different performance and styling packages. Maybe this is the base one.
I agree with you. Another thing they should have done was swap out the dash it would look more like a trans am then the chevys failed attempt at trying to bring back an iconic body style.
Bill Blast there are alot of different styles they have some that keep the 6.2 they also have a 1100hp for the old style they will litteraly ask you what you want and custom build what ever it is
Will Mills I saw that also, he did look frail, but he has put a lot of miles on his body.....yet I guess one day we will all look like that.
devin johnson I must have missed the part that there was different size engine, I did hear them say they had different horsepower's. I must have been drooling over the cars when they said that. Thx to you to yourself & +Llia Olsen for your info.
love this car my wife's coworker has one "she" loves it and know how to drive it
Imagine driving this beast to your beach house in South Carolina or Texas. Not sure where the best beach town is in the south. But you get the idea. A real toy for that man who has it all.
They should make the Knight Industries Two Thousand edition. Sign me up for that!
I wonder if they'll have a "knight Rider" condition
Condition or edition??
Ooooooh how that would be SICK! Might as well start a whole new program series... maybe they could go after all the Globalist and NWO whores too!
My first question when I read the title was "Yeah, but is it street legal?"...laughed out loud when they said a grandma going to get groceries in one :-D
Would have been a great media piece had you not dropped the f-bomb. Why? A spotlight on these guys deserves better than that; should have edited it out.
where can I find a used one? lol
you'll be able to get a used one in a couple years for 30K, so hang tight
A used one will probably still run about a 100 grand. Wonder if these vehicles new or used can be found on car gurus or auto trader and if so under what brand?
‘The noise out the rear’, interesting choice of words.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
If they could lose the halo lights and or leave them the same color as the chicken on the hood it would be so much better
AND if they could put original Pontiac Motors with modern EFI and front dressing, THAT would be really cool
love the black bandit edition loose those stupid halo lights other than that awsome
Michael ruff And the weird bandit(?) that's embroidered on the headrest.
lose*
Dustin Anderson I did a double take seeing that. One of the units I was in (in the Army) used that exact logo.
I've always loved the firebird and these are absolutely gorgeous, especially the bandit edition. I'd get one even if it wasn't signed by Burt and NOBODY but me, myself and I would drive it, EVER!!!!
Pontiac will live forever I hope, in some way.
If I had gobs of money I'd buy one, guess that's why I don't have gobs of money.
Beautiful the craftsmanship is outstanding
75 grand on the low end!?! I'm gonna stick with 2 grand for a decent quality firebird
Looks like a fucking Camaro.
Ohh. Smdh.
both camaro's and fire birds/ trans ams are on the same body platform. Usually just appearance difference and motor difference do to one being a chevy and other pontiac
Show me the GM Alpha Platform T/A?
Or how about the NON GM "Zeta" designed by Holden in Australia, where is that T/A?
The Divine Rod you do
They always have been on the same chassis dip shit. Jesus Christ you kids today are dumb as donkeys.
The bandit edition looks amazing 😍🤤
Yes finally something that will beat a cop car, I'll take 2.
I think a Dodge Demon or Hellcat or a Shelby GT500 or GT350 will easily outrun any cop car ever made at any time by any manufacturer lol
why not restore an original trans am with updated tech instead of making a "modern" version that looks like a Camaro that gained a few pounds and got a facelift...
TheNerdyCanadian Probably because that's been done for a long time now by many companies. I respect these guys taking a stab at something that hadn't been done before.
they do that too tho...
TheNerdyCanadian Dude, Camaro's and Fire Birds have always looked like each other, say for the brake lights. You are just a silly man saying silly things to trigger people on the *RUclips*.
harrimat100 what i'm saying is that this "trans am" doesn't look good, i'm not saying it to trigger anyone lmao
In 1978 I was looking to buy a four speed Trans Am, but for some stupid reason that wasn’t an option that year, but it was on the Z28 Camaro - so I ordered one so I could get exactly what I wanted: four speed with 3.70 posi trac differential, optional wheels with Goodyear tires and deep blue paint it cost 7,200 dollars.
just a Camaro with a body kit and some mods.
Agreed. People forget the cars were built on the SAME platform.
No shit Lampe but it looks bad ass
camaro with some body kit and some mods isnt that what they have always been
valid point honestly
I don't understand how a Chevy camero can become Pontiac trans am.
I dont understand how people think theres an E in Camaro
as stated in the video the original trans am and camaro were built on the same chassis
the third gen and 4th gen Camaro/trans am were basically the same car just different body panels. also, CamAro....
Stephen Schafer Yes, I made a spelling mistake. You and the people thumbing up must be perfect in your life too. Act like you never made a spelling mistake.
Every Trans Am was based on the same F body as Camaro , if they hadn't closed down Pontiac as a brand there would still be a Trans Am .
T tops and that phoenix logo will forever be the best!!
These look terrible visually. I'd probably just get some of the performance upgrades on a standard SS if that was an option.
Omar Ibrahim you could. all of the stuff apart from the bodywork looks to be off the shelf stuff. ( excluding the camshaft , but there's plenty of places that will make you a cam)
You build a much better car for half as much cash, no problem. Those LS and LT motors with the right internals are good for 2500hp boosted.
Isn't that the point of the trans am though? The camaro with more random shit thrown on it?
lol blue lights, so candy ass 2001
Kinda glad to see the F-body came back when it did. Really like the newest Camaro, and also like the looks of what these guys have come up with. Thank god GM made it a 2 door. Not like when they brought back the Impala SS only available in 4 doors. Didn't Mopar come out with some 4 door only muscle cars too? No offense to anyone that may have one but I'm old school and find it hard to get excited about a sedan sports car.
It's a cheese looking pimp daddy vehicle,, I dig it 👍
