      Why would you say so? Because of the views? In a way I'll agree, but it's partially upto the algorithm. It favours regularly churned out content instead of good quality stuff that takes months to make. But big up to Chris for being the best.

    • @R1L6N
      @R1L6N 11 месяцев назад +30

      @@batmanisreal929 Oh Chris actually said, i think it was either after the 2nd or 3rd JAJ, that he might stop doing the series as its not getting as many views as his regular ones and the reason why i mentioned the patreons is because i think they are a huge part of the reason why the series is where it is now.

    I probably should've realised given the historical accuracy of the series, that the Abashiri prison featured in the anime Golden Kamuy is an *actual* prison in Hokkaido. It's super neat to see the actual prison and to see how accurate the anime was in portraying it's layout and the size and shape of the cells. Thanks so much for showing us all these cool locations and historical sites and as always, a fantastic video to be proud of!

    16:32 I got your movie reference, Pete. One of the most famous quotes. It reminds me of when I was doing a graduate course on "High Culture/Pop Culture". One guy gave a presentation about the Simpson's episode where Mr Burns is on his deathbed, a snowglobe rolls out of his hand and he whispers, "Rosebud". The presenter surveyed other people's opinions and thoughts about that episode. I finally spoke up and said, "Did nobody realize it was a parody of 'Citizen Kane'?" Even the presenter didn't realize it all came from that movie. I just sighed.

    I waited to watch al 4 episodes in a row and I'm always sad when the new "season" ends. Journey Across Japan is as good, if not better than any content available. The editing, the format, the quality and the people taking part are amazing. I love that Pete has joined aswell. He is always an amazing addition to watch. Thank you very much for another immensely enjoyable series. Excited for the possible next one. 10/10 as always.

    Abashiri has a surprisingly great authentic Nepalese restaurant called Bistari Bistari. I know Chris described it as a frozen isolated port town but it was some of the best non-Japanese food I had in Japan.
