I love Tetra Schutz and have used it on my Defender a lot. The aerosol does give you the pitted effect, but you do need to spray from 30+ cm away. It dries really quickly, too and becomes hard on the surface while remaining slightly gummy underneath. I have even used it to paint a large Frontrunner roof rack where the powder coating had come away and was looking tatty. I sanded it down and added a couple of coats of TS, and it looks better than new with a nice textured satin effect that doesn't fade and stands up to the harsh conditions in the Highlands.
I think it would have been better to have used the Tetrosyl Stone chip, if you'd got white, you could have tinted it NATO Green. Would be a harder wearing surface. Still looking good though.
Thank you, we were warned against the stone chip which is why we went underbody protection, not sure the reason for avoiding the stone chip but we took the advice. As we are trying to replicate (within reason) the military spec they coated the underbody’s in black like tar paint. That’s the only reason for going black. Thanks again and have a great Christmas’s
Hiya I believe we did say in the video but can’t remember if that was cut out but we used the spray tube provided to coat the interior so both outside and inside is covered :-) thank you for watching
I rebuilt my series 3 about 25 years ago and waxoiled the chassis inside and used wax oil under seal on the outside… it’s been sunk to the top Of the wheels in muddy water and was a daily driver for another 5 years… still rust free today… you can’t beat wax oil if you apply it well . Generally thinned down with diesel and applied with a paraffin wash gun with the air pressure at 150 psi👍
@@rbrtcrowther really ,, a wax product that cracks and dries trapping water , thinned with diesel thats hydroscopic ,,, thats the true farmers way ,, only thing you missed was used engine oil ,,, it wont work either ,,, when they start using waxol on aircraft I will swap over from ACF50 ,,, nuf said.
@ unfortunately your channel has no content… which makes all your arguments invalid…go hide behind your keyboard. For all we know you don’t even know how to hold screwdriver 🤣🤣🤣
I cant get any answers with lanoguard. Dirt sticks to it so how do u recoat without msjor hassle of removing old stuff. Otherwise spraying directly over stuck dirt
From what we understand steam cleaning or scrubbing will fetch it off but a fair bit of work for sure. Thank you for watching have a happy Christmas and a great new year
Yeah I’ll subscribe! I bought a series 3 off Mick a while back…. It’s nearly finished now. He said he knew a good company for making the age related number plates, do you know the name of them. Cheers! Ian. 🙂👍
To be fair without Britpart there would be far less Landys on the road so kudos to them. We say alot of stuff in jest but also have had some issues with reliability from some of their stuff. Cheers for watching 👍🏻
It's also quite true, sadly. It annoys me that it can be tough to find an alternative source for a fair few items so I tend to refurb first and only buy their stuff when there is absolutely no alternative as quality is way too random.

Who knew that Dave was ambidextrous with scrubbing brushes

Looks amazing. I'd be well happy with that look.
Sounds like you would like scrat doing….
@@rustenuts Yeah, that's a 2026 job in the making. First is the wheels to get powder coated. Funny enough, you done that too 😏

the under tub ribs should of been coated before they were fitted as they will rust from the inside out just a thought or get ya gun and fill the ends

Thank you. He’s intrigued as to which Land Rover you brought now 😂 he uses Ricks Bargain Plates for all his reg plates hope that helps
Hi Ian, which landrover did you buy from me buddy ?
@@MadFordEngineering hi Mick, I bought one of Mr Mears short wheelbases from you, hardtop. Engine ran like a sewing machine. 🙂👍
@@rustenuts cheers! Thanks for that. 👍

The force is strong with this one
Those horrible part number labels ;)
Oh they got blasted! 😂
“They will rot because they’re Britpart” is a bit unfair lads😮
