- I want to thank @overseaswithease for this clip! Black people in general are moving overseas in droves. The American dream was not ever meant for me or my ancestors. So I am happy to be amongst the many expats who are relocating to places like Merida Mexico. The capital of the Yucatán peninsula.
Love seeing black women move abroad. Such a better lifestyle!

@@blackolantern5666tourist cities like Merida are safe. Cartels don’t want to mess with the money generated from tourism. As far as racism goes, you will find racist people everywhere, sadly. One thing I’ll tell you about Mexico is that it’s very diverse, the overwhelming majority will treat you with kindness and respect🙏

Also the traffic is terrible here because it wasn’t built for this many people so the infrastructure is a mess. It does have many positive qualities tho. I’m at peace ☮️ life is good. I didn’t move alone but my husband and I had to get my black self and our mixed kids, out of the states. So far, very happy choice. My anxiety has dropped significantly.

Yes, it’s great but I’m going to give you one suggestion before you go any place and start investing try to live in a furnished home or an Airbnb for a minimum of six months before you commit someplace because you can end up saving a lot of money if you decide to pivot
