We've reached Warsaw on our Great Continental River Journey down the River Vistula, Wisła.
The entire length of the River Vistula (Wisła) is within Poland.
Steve is destined to row in an eight in the Warsaw International Head race following an invitation from Ryszard Romanowski.
There are interviews with World & European Champions, with masters, musicians and mermaids and we hear from property expert Robert Mayhew about Poland's progress since the end of the soviet era.
We could create a whole video on statues, which seem to have lives as colourful as the people they represent. We include just a few prominent ones here. And we marvel at the reconstruction that the Poles have achieved following the devastation of WWII

Hi Maria, so glad that you enjoyed it! We have been fascinated with Warsaw (and Vistula). Especially we loved discovering Polish-British connections and only scratched the surface of those amazing stories. Thank you for watching and for coming to the zoom meeting :)

Great way to travel. Steve is smaller than the coxswain of his eight, but he's in the power seat.

Yes, indeed. This was owing to a misunderstanding. I suggested I row at 2 or 3. But on the continent they number from the stern, not from the bow like we do in the UK. So it just ended up like it is. Looks strange, doesn't it? I actually hate the 5 seat. There is just no feeling there. My favourite position would be stroke or 7. But the crew would have to know what I have formerly achieved at the stern of veteran eights and trust me to do the same for them.

We are glad you like it! It's fantastic capital city when you can enjoy water sports on the Vistula in the middle of it. We would have loved to get more rowing in our Nordic Explorer too. Next time:)

Thank you, much appreciated. There have been so much of Warsaw that we have discovered, could be few more episodes about Warsaw itself! Wonderful city!
