I love watching the Europeans reaction to your American-level of excitement for everything! I love that even with the official celebration canceled, it seemed like a lot of people came out to celebrate!!! And those fireworks!!! I thought it was canceled?! Lolol! Sooo special!!! We are very grateful for how many people agreed to speak to us on camera. Yea, we get excited for everything! But when you are enjoying life that is what happens. NYE hats were hard to find. We found the hat with the springs at like a CVS type store here. And there was only one left. Lindor is legit. Yea, the lights and the whole Christmas Market is still up. Which is great because in one of the cities we were exploring while they were dismantling the market stalls and it was very sad. With a fireworks show like they had, who needs an official one?! We didn't capture it on camera, but right after we stopped filming we literally were enclosed by fireworks in the sky. A full 360 degrees. It was the most amazing show ever! Thanks for watching!!!

Love the central square with those pretty colourful buildings and ice rink, I know it was reconstructed after the war but it really does all look hundreds of years old. What a great firework show to end up with!! And what a place to be standing with all those Christmas lights and wonderful buildings - Happy New Year to you both!!
We went to another city in Poland that looked similar, but it was under construction, so we are glad this one wasn't. Fireworks show was incredible. By the end of it, we were completely surrounded by them! So happy the Christmas lights and the Christmas market stalls are still open. Happy New Year Matt! We got some first-class street interviews that day! It's a shame that Christmas markets ever have to end. We didn't capture it, but right after filming we were completely surrounded by fireworks. It was the best display ever. Excited for what you lads get up to this year. CHEERS!

Warsaw does not let off fireworks for the sake of animals. This is not a disappointment, but a modern approach to the natural environment. Europeans are not surprised by this trend ;-)

The funny thing is that in Poland it is forbidden to shoot fireworks and on New Year's Eve as well as to drink in public places. You need permission for such a thing, but the police do not react on New Year's Eve even if they wanted to, because they would not be able to write tickets. :D
A lot of cities don't do shows because after accepting so many refugees from Ukraine, the money is running out and inflation has increased to almost 20% and they save on everything they can, but people always did shows themselves anyway, so everything is almost the old way.

Why were the fireworks cancelled?
Finances. But the "unofficial" fireworks were incredible!
many cities canceled New Year's Eve due to high cost inflation
We have huge number of Ukrainian war refugees in Poland now, lots of them have PTSD, that's why the official fireworks celebration was cancelled this year.

Fireworks canceled in Warsaw due to animals. then they run away from their homes and get very stressed, so they were abandoned
I wish fireworks weren't used by locals in Medellin and all around in Colombia 🇨🇴 because fireworks do harm animals a d people. I know because I have dogs.
To be honest, I`m in favor of a ban all fireworks throughout the country, except in specially designated places such as old towns. My dog is very afraid of these sounds and I wouldn't want her to be so stressed on that day. Unfortunately, we Poles don`t like to adapt to restrictions, we are egoists and we don`t think about animals.
Special concerts were organized in Zakopane and Chorzów on this occasion and shown on TVP 2 and Polsat TV stations, if you have a TV you could see them ;)
I sympathize with your disappointment, but Warsaw as the capital of our country has a very large number of residents and visitors, so it's no wonder that it was difficult for you to find a place anywhere in the restaurants. Hope you had fun anyway :)

When I come back from second shif 5 dogs of my neighbours are always yapping super loud. It stresses me out. Why do they keep those big dogs in block apartment? It stresses me out. When they let them loose in the corridor and they jump on me it stresses me out. Egoists.

How about you take your dog out of town for a day if you are so concerned? Why should others not have fun because YOUR dog is scared? That's what I call egoism.
My dog is afraid of thunder as well ... do you think they should ban tunderstorms in Poland ?
Jeśli chodzi o fajerwerki to też z powodu zwierząt, które cierpią że strachu. Często trzeba zaopatrywać się w tabletki uspokajające dla nich. Mój pies rady York bardzo boi się fajerwerków strasznie szybko oddycha z językiem na wierzchu serce bije bardzo szybko jakby miało zaraz wyskoczyć i na prawdę ciężko uspokoić takiego zwierzaka nic nie pomaga, w najgorszych przypadkach zastrzyk. Nie pomaga zawinięcie w koc i przytulenie. Dla ludzi jest głośno a co może czuć pies, którego słuch jest o wiele bardziej wrażliwy. Szkoda zwierząt, nie zrozumie tego ktoś kto nie widział paniki i strachu w oczach np psa, drgawek po całym ciele i niczym nie da się uspokoić.
